Of Friends And Of Enemies
Author’s Notes: Gomen nasai everyone. I know it’s been like totally long since I’ve updated, but here’s another chapter. It’s coming along easier, I was in a rut there for a while, but now I think I’m back. Be sure to check out my other GW one shots and my YGO fan fictions!
Chapter 4
“Thank gods..” Duo murmured as he watched the three boys stalk out of the library. His eyes turned on Quatre, who was looking abit nervous, but smiling none the less, “Oi, Q’, you okay?” The boy asked, gently brushing his lips along the porcelain skin that covered Quatre’s neck, pausing to nip and suck a new red patch on the skin, “Y…yes….just…mmph…fine…” Quatre gasped out, lolling his head back against the bookshelves. Duo’s hand delved back between them, stroking his fingertips over the space between his shirt and pants, drawing a moan from the blonde’s lips, “Nhh…gods..” The blonde squirmed delicately, attempting to press closer to Duo, urging the other on. The brunette leaned forwards, pressing his lips lightly to the tip of Quatre’s nose, then against his chin, and just as he was moving in to kiss him soundly on the lips…the bell rang, “Mother fucking damned bell!!” Duo cursed, pulling away from the blonde and looking about ready to kick a bookshelf over. Quatre’s hand came up, covering his mouth as he fought not to laugh, “It’s okay, Duo-chan…” The blonde purred playfully, and gave a soft yip as Duo tugged him in for a rough, but quick kiss, “Mh…you have to come visit me, Q-kun..” Duo whined against the blonde’s neck, unwilling to let him go just yet, “Nhh…Duo! I’m going to be late, you may be able to get away with it, it being your first day and all, but I can’t!” Gently prying himself from Duo’s hold, Quatre smiled, “We’ll plan this weekend, we’ll spend the whole time together, okay, D’-kun?” The blonde offered, lifting a hand to cup Duo’s cheek, “And…that means that I want to see the real you, D’-kun, I don’t want you to be a mess of black and red, ne?” Quatre whispered, drawing Duo in for a gentle kiss, before slipping out from the place he’d been leaning between the bookshelves. “Okay, Q’…just me and you, no masks this weekend.” Scooping up his messenger bag, Quatre smiled sweetly over his shoulder and blew Duo a kiss, “Love you, Duo.” The blonde whispered, and Duo smiled softly in response, “Love you too, Q’.”
The two of them parted company halfway down the hall from the library, both sharing another quick kiss. Emerald eyes watched in slight anger and confusion as Quatre seemed to bounce off, before following Duo, “Maxwell!” Trowa called for the braided boy, who spun around and almost went into a fighting stance, “Yo’, I just want to ask you a question.” Trowa snapped, lifting his hands defensively. The brunette looked unsure, before slowly nodding and glaring at Trowa, “What is it, then?” The taller boy paused, then narrowed his eyes, “How did you bag Winner?” He was stooping low in just asking Duo had he did it, but he had to know. Duo’s eyes widened slightly, then narrowed and his lips turned upwards in a sneer, “I didn’t ‘bag’ him, I fell in love with him. I was just lucky enough to have a chance at his heart. If it wasn’t for you and your thuggish friends, I probably wouldn’t have had a chance. So, I thank you for that.” Duo added sarcastically, giving a slight bow, before turning away. Trowa’s hand shot out and grabbed for the brunette’s shoulder, “Let. Me. Go.” Duo snapped, fingers tightening into fists at his sides, “No until you tell me how you bagge-” A sound punch aimed at Trowa’s left eye cut off his words and he stumbled slightly, but he didn’t get much of a chance to recover as the smaller, almost feminine looking boy threw him against the lockers and pinned him there by his shoulders, “I DIDN’T ‘BAG’ HIM!” Duo shouted, landing another punch in Trowa’s gut, “You stay away from what’s mine, Barton, or so help me..” Duo released Trowa, letting him double over slightly, before taking off for class, not exactly wanting to wait for Trowa to get himself together and return the favor of a few bruises.
Tucking his hand into his pocket to hide his bruising knuckles, Duo slipped into History, offering a pink slip to the teacher who nodded, “I will be your History teacher..-” Duo rolled his eyes slightly, but nodded, “- ..and my name is Ms. Noin, or just Noin.” A slight smile split over Duo’s lips and he nodded a bit, “Nice to meet’cha, Ms. Noin, ‘m Duo Maxwell.” He gave a gallant, but playful bow, and he was rewarded with a soft chuckle from the teacher, “Now now, Duo, none of that. The only open seat is back there, next to Mr. Chang…you‘ll have to share a book with him until I‘m able to get you one, okay, Duo?” Duo, nodded, and turned with a bright smile, before his eyes widened on sight of the oriental that had stopped Heero from pounding him to a pulp on the bus. But for the boy’s haughty attitude, Duo could see himself befriending the raven haired boy. Bouncing towards Wufei, he slid into the seat beside him and gave the other a peace sign, “I come in peace, take me to your textbook.” Duo gave a playful wink and was quite surprised at the blush that spilt over Wufei’s cheeks, barely catching the history book that was flung at his head before it did any damage, “What page, Chang-y baby?” Duo decided to push it, earning a dark glare, but an even darker blush on the boy’s tanned features, “My name is Chang Wufei, call me Wufei, Maxwell.” The oriental snapped, before frowning, “Page 239.” He added as an afterthought, before narrowing his eyes on the book as Duo opened it. Duo snorted gently at the other’s formality, so he decided to throw it back in Wufei’s face, “Well, Wuffy, ‘m Duo Maxwell, and I really hate when people call me Maxwell, ‘cuz that’s not my name, so call me Duo, ne?” Wufei’s eyes narrowed at the nickname, “Maxwell, my name is WuFEI. Not Wuffy.” Giving a soft chortle, Duo nodded, “So, you call me Duo, and I’ll call you Wufei.” The brunette offered, holding out his hand. Wufei looked unsure, mentally going over how many germs could be on the other’s hands, before slowly taking the hand and giving it a quick shake, “Fine, M-…Duo.” Wufei muttered, turning his eyes on the textbook. Duo grinned slightly to himself and nodded, “Thanks, Wufei.” Duo murmured, before looking down to the textbook.
Duo found that they were in the same place that he had been in a month ago in his old school, so he knew exactly what they were doing, and was actually beating Wufei when answering some of the questions Noin would ask the students. Wufei wasn’t taking this new competition lightly, but he definitely enjoyed fighting over his best student title. After the forty five minutes of that class, Noin assigned the homework, and Duo offered the book back to Wufei, “I’ll just tell her that I don’t have a book, so I couldn’t do it..” Duo started, and was surprised with Wufei shook his head. The oriental boy scribbled something on a piece of paper, then offered it to Duo, “You can come over and work on it, or just stop by to get the book, if you wish.” Wufei offered softly, and Duo grinned, “Thanks, man, you’re one helluva lifesaver!” Duo chortled again, throwing an arm around the cherry-red oriental boy before the other made the excuse of having to pack up to move away from Duo’s invasion on his personal space. The bell rang and Duo gave another laugh and stood, “’ll see you around six, okay?” Duo offered, and Wufei gave a nod, keeping his eyes on the books in his hands. Duo grinned, “Well, see you then, Wuffers!!” The brunette took off out the door, leaving a gawking Wufei behind, before he began chasing, “MAXWELL! MY NAME IS NOT WUFFERS!”
