~Part 4:
Everyone’s Pain~
Heero slowly and almost tenderly massaged a small
shiny object between his slender and calloused fingers, slumped over on his…and
Duo’s bed, all focus and thought directed completely at the precious object
held within his steel-like protectiveness. A small, soft sigh slowly escaped
his dry parted lips, hanging his head lower, the true depth of his ‘sickness’
Quatre was so worried about, was now showing through like it was his natural
facade; eyes dark with despair and obvious with the utter misery he was in.
Dark rings of sleepless nights, visible under his weary Prussian eyes and
exceptional features. A stray lock of that impossibly messy mop of hair escaped
its settings and fell loosely into Heero’s vacant face. He didn’t bother to
brush it back; he just sat there and continued to twirl the small shiny object
in his fingers.
Only a short moment later, Heero heard footsteps
coming up the stairs again; he sighed with annoyance and turned his face away
from his hands, closing his eyes in disgust. Not even a minute later came the
knock at the door that Heero had been expecting, he had to sneer at that—this
was just too much. Go away Trowa, I know
it’s you, so just… go away… You just don’t get it…… Another knock and then
Trowa’s voice accompanied it…
“Heero…?” So gentle and quiet. Don’t treat me like I’ll break… Just go away. Again, “Heero? I—we
need to talk… all of us…… I know you don’t want to talk right now but we really
need to work this out. We’re worried about you Heero, you need to come out of
there, and eat. You’ll get sick if you don’t…” I already am… “…at least do that… Please?” Silence. Heero looked
up, surprised he didn’t hear anymore from Trowa—glad. Then, a great sigh. Heero
rolled his eyes and turned away again.
“Heero…… I… don’t suppose telling you that Wufei is
here would make any difference would it…?” Heero almost choked on his own air! Wufei!?! Wufei is here!? That Son of a Bitch has
the nerve to come back here!?! Bastard!!!! The next thing Trowa knew, the
door to Heero and Duo’s bedroom was flying open and Heero was halfway down the
stairs, making a hell of a lot of noise. Trowa just blinked a couple of times
then he snapped out of it almost immediately. Oh shit! Wufei!! No, Heero! Trowa flew down the stairs after an
enraged Heero and hoped—prayed that Heero would do nothing drastic… Just, don’t kill him Heero…
~ * * ~
Quatre…
I could faintly hear Trowa trying to talk to Heero,
through the door most likely, upstairs; I was starting to get nervous, I just
hope Heero doesn’t overreact—or worse… I shiver, I don’t want to think about
‘or worse’ I just want Duo back and everything to be okay again.
‘Stomp!’ ‘Stomp!’ ‘Stomp!’
What the-! Before I could register what was
happening, Heero came bursting into the dining room, eyes frantic… and angry….
And had found Wufei. The second Heero saw him he was on top of Wufei and
literally beating him into the ground—beating him into the ground!? I jumped up
knocking my chair over and I found myself trying to pry the two apart—or should
I say, Heero off of Wufei before he killed him. That was not a smart thing to
do…. Before I knew what hit me, I was on the ground behind Heero and a
struggling Wufei, clutching my chest and gasping for air, thank god Trowa
wasn’t far behind Heero… I realized I was being lifted up into a strong
embrace—a familiar embrace—Trowa.
I found myself gasping his name as he lifted me and
I could barley hear him saying something to me, and there was… fear in his
eyes?
* * * *
Trowa…
God, Quatre! Damn, Heero, you asshole…! I can’t
believe this, one second—one second!! And I’m already picking somebody up, who
just happens to be Quatre, and tending to their wounds! I need to stop them! I
turn to Quatre, frantic—there better had not be anything broken or I swear…
“Quatre!? Quatre! Can you hear me? A-are you all
right? Quatre? Quatre, can you hear me!!?” He looks at me with confused and
pain-filled eyes and frowns slightly, but then there is that smile! He still
smiles, even when he’s in pain… Don’t worry love, everything will be all right,
I promise. I start to move Quatre back against the wall when quite a few
servants come running in—great. One of the servants takes Quatre from my arms,
thankfully and they give me a worried look. I stare back at Quatre, wiping a
stray lock of hair from his flushed face and turn around quickly, standing
right behind Heero and Wufei in one swift step.
I stare for a moment dumbstruck; I can’t believe how
much anger Heero has in him right now—wait! I shouldn’t be thinking about this
right now! I have to stop Heero, before he beats Wufei to bloody pulp!
I maneuver around Heero’s steel fists and finally
manage to grab hold of one of his arms, just barely dodging his elbow as it
comes back for another strike at Wufei. He struggles, as expected, but what I
did not expect was for Heero to turn on me! In the blink of an eye Heero had
turned around completely and knocked me back with the rest of his body
following me. I found myself sprawled out flat on my back with Heero straddling
me, almost growling with anger; I could just see the foam coming out of his mouth, figuratively speaking, but it
was not a good thing right at that moment; being restrained by a very pissed
off Heero Yuy was not the best thing
for your health. The thought crossed my mind right at that moment that I would
actually rather be caught between that beam cannon on the fated Libra and ALL the OZ forces than
underneath Heero right at this moment.
I was snapped out of that thought though when I felt
a vice-like grip around my throat and a raspy voice in my ear.
“Don’t fuck with me Barton! I’m going to kill that goddamn
bastard and you’d better stay the hell out of it… or I’ll kill you too!!” Fear.
That was all I could register at that moment and then he was gone! I felt the
weight of his body lifted from mine, but a sudden wash of relief fell over
me—one wrong move and he could—would have snapped my neck. I brought my senses
back to reality and pushed myself up as quickly as I could and I was met with
the very disturbing sight of Heero ready to attack a very bloody and bruised
Wufei at any moment. I could see the fear in Wufei’s eyes covered by a layer of
pure hatred for what Heero was doing, but I could also see the same fury in
Heero’s eyes as well—this was not going to turn out well…
I could see the moment Heero tensed up, to go for
it; I saw him jump, death at the ends of his fists, ready—willing to kill
Wufei…. No, I wasn’t going to have this! I’m not going to let this happen! I
let go and just… jumped.
* * * *
Quatre…
NO!! God Trowa! This isn’t happening, it has to
stop—has to stop! I have to stop this; Heero, you can’t.
At that moment I saw all the finely shaped muscles
in Heero’s body tense and his body shift, ready to… attack. I could see Trowa
behind Heero taking in the scene, analyzing Heero—waiting; he was going to jump
too, only, at Heero. I turned to Wufei who had the utmost look of horror on his
face and he wouldn’t move; he just stood there, frozen in place—idiot!! I won’t
let this happen—I won’t!
Time seemed to stop…. Everything becoming a blur of
emotions; rage, and sadness and fiery passion. Everything disappeared and only
Wufei, Trowa, Heero and I were left as I forced myself to rise and move towards
them. As Heero broke for Wufei. And as Trowa closed in on Heero.
It seemed we all collided with each other at once.
Everything too blurry to make out; all I could see myself doing was throwing my
small body into Wufei’s larger frame and then Heero and Trowa came barreling
into us and we all hit the ground with a loud ‘thump.’ In the struggle and
confusion I could barely make out Trowa’s voice calling out my name and Heero’s
voice just above his, screaming profanities at all of us or maybe nothing in
particular. I could barely straiten out the situation as Heero kept struggling
and would hit one of us every few swings causing even more disorientation.
I was finally
able to get some sort of balance and I found Wufei’s arm and began to pull him
up just as he was starting to push himself up as well, I guess he had the same
idea. We had just stood up when Heero took a kick at us and just barely missed
Wufei’s side as I pulled him away from Heero. I could hardly stand on my own
anymore—the blow to my ribs earlier starting to really take its toll on me;
Wufei noticed this and moved to hold me up. Surprise! It surprised me almost as
much as it did him; I looked up at him and he was staring at me, confusion
sprawled all over his features, then he quickly looked away.
Trowa had just pulled Heero up off the ground when I
turned back to them—Heero still
struggling in Trowa’s arms and cursing words I didn’t even think he knew. There
was something very amiss to the whole thing though—especially Heero; maybe the
other’s didn’t notice, but I did. Very faintly, but growing more noticeable,
Heero was… getting slower? A lot slower actually, but not the exhausted
overworked slower, more like… sick slower. Sick, Heero really is sick… and this
is what I had been fearing was happening the whole time.
Heero is sick… no, no, Trowa stop. He’s sick! Too
sick.
I found myself pulling away from Wufei just as Heero
began to slip from Trowa’s arms, much to Trowa’s surprise. Fear completely took
over my senses as I saw those Prussian blue eyes darken and role back into
Heero’s head and it slowly lolled over to one side and he was out. Trowa and I
met as he fell to the ground with a fainted Heero still in his arms, and I was
cradling Heero’s head in my lap—again… there seems to be a pattern forming
here. I looked up at Trowa, worry filling my eyes I’m sure, and I know Trowa
saw it too because he had the same expression as me. Then I heard a noise
behind me, I craned my neck to see what it was then I saw Wufei looking
slightly faint himself. He began to wobble on his legs and swoon a little,
thank Allah Trowa still had the speed to catch him before he fell over and hit
his head on something.
In the end, Trowa and I were the only one’s ‘left
standing’ as they say, I looked at Trowa and he over-emphasized the
exasperation he was feeling with a really wide role of his eyes and a great
sigh. I tried to smile but failed and it turned into a sympathetic frown
instead. Trowa sighed again and started to pick Wufei up into his arms when he
finally spoke,
“Let’s get them upstairs and into bed… get these
bruises taken care of…… I can’t—I just can’t believe this.” Trowa walked out
with Wufei dangling in his arms while a few servants came over to help with
Heero and myself. This is going to be a
long night.
Once we got upstairs, I had found that Trowa had put
Wufei in his room that we gave to him whenever he came over. Trowa had just
come walking out when we got to the top and he looked so tired, yeah I know how
you feel. Trowa looked at me sadly and walked over to us, taking me into his
arms while the servants took Heero to his room.
“Please, be very careful with him—he’s very sick. We
should call the doctor too.” I called out to the retreating servants, one of
them popped their head out into the hall and replied, “Yes, Master Quatre I
will do that, but you should take it easy as well, you are injured too… I will
tell the doctor that when I call him so he can look at your injuries also.” I
smiled softly and nodded him away, I was too tired and felt too weak to do
anything else. Trowa must have noticed that though because he lifted me up into
his arms immediately and carried me to our room. Ahh, our room… bed, sleep,
that sounds so nice right now…
I let my mind wander for a moment and when I came
back to reality I was already laying in our enormous overly cushioned bed and
Trowa was gently unbuttoning my shirt and pulling it off for me. I looked down
at him groggily, I am so out of it… he smiled at me sweetly and kissed the tip
of my nose—like he always does. I smile back at him the best I can and just let
him take care of me; my sides hurts, I think there is something broken… I don’t
blame Heero though, I would be angry too if the same thing happened to me… all
though, I don’t think things would have become quite that drastic…
Poor Heero…
* * * *
Trowa…
I can’t believe this. Even after everything that has
happened to us, this still amazes me. Everything is falling apart, our whole
world—our perfect lives that we fought so long for is falling to pieces. Where
is Duo…? Duo, we need you—Heero needs you so badly…
I’ve always believed that time will work things out,
but this… this just isn’t going to wait for time’s flow—it has to be
stopped—now. Heero is sick; Wufei is almost injured beyond repair, and Duo… Duo
is gone—missing, nowhere to be found. And what do I have…? My Quatre lying in
bed, with, most likely a broken rib or two and I have to wait for the damned
doctor to get here before ANYTHING can be
done… Great. Just great.
But I have to do what I can… that’s all that can be
done. I look down at Quatre who is almost asleep now, after I’ve finally got
his shirt off and his pants are undone and halfway down his hips…. Oh god, that
is too delicious. No! God, what am I thinking—I’m horrible; Quatre is hurt and
the first thing I think of when I look at him, is sex.
He looks so beautiful like that though; face turned
to one side, lush, pink lips parted slightly, his fine golden hair falling
delicately over his closed eyes and long lashes. His small arms up on the
pillows, delicate fingers closed slightly in the palm of his hand, and his
slender waist twisted just right to make his appearance look almost… erotic.
And if only his legs were bare—that would just finish the picture to
perfection. Hmm, how ‘bout I do that… he’ll be more comfortable anyway.
I happily put myself to the task of getting those
tight jeans off of that little waist of his, being as careful as I can so as
not wake him or give anymore discomfort. Within about five minutes I have
Quatre’s full length exposed and those troublesome pants on the floor. I sigh,
now that is just too beautiful… I wonder if he knows just how damn attractive
he really is. Beautiful. After I’ve taken my time just staring, I reluctantly
cover his body with the giant quilts that are on the bed, I almost forgot that
the doctor was coming… I wonder if he’s here yet….
When I reached the bottom of the stairs, I saw Henry
just closing the doors behind the doctor. I cleared my throat and he looked up
and smiled reassuringly, I tried to smile back but failed miserably at it. I
think he saw the tension and stress in me and he spoke in that same calm timber
he always uses when there is a delicate situation at hand.
“Trowa, my boy…” He says, “…How have you been, I see
it’s not you that needs the tending to this time…? Where are the patients, the
boy that called me told me it was more than one… what happened?” The sadness I
had been holding back finally showed itself and he walked over to me, worry in
his eyes.
“This way… they’re all up here…”
I was leaning up against the frame of the doorway to
Wufei’s room as the doctor leaned over Wufei’s motionless, bruised and battered
form poking and prodding, ‘Hmming’ and ‘Ahhing’ when he got to a particularly
beat up part of Wufei’s body. It was actually quite irritating. I mean it was
bad enough when he did it to me, but actually watching somebody else receive that treatment was even more
annoying—now I know how Quatre feels when he has to stand there and watch….
That thought brought me back; Quatre…
“Does it look like there’s anything serious?” I ask;
the doctor straitened up slightly and craned his neck back over his shoulder to
look at me; he actually had a somewhat confused look on his face…. Why?
“W-what?” I ask timidly, I don’t like seeing that look on his face. Then he straitens up all the way and faces me completely,
sighing heavily.
“What happened here?” My breath caught in my chest…
“How did he get these injuries? I
know you boys, and it’s not easy to inflict much bodily harm upon you… how did
this happen to him…? Did something happen between you two… or another?” Right
on the dot! Damn, he never ceases to amaze me…. Even with how long we’ve been
coming to him. I chew on my bottom lip for a moment, not making direct eye
contact with the doctor, then he clears his throat again, but in that ‘I’m
waiting’ manner. Okay, fine I’ll tell you.
“Heero and Wufei… got into a fight.” The doctor
raised an eyebrow at that—yeah, you’re not the only one… “It’s… a long story…”
More warning him than anything else, but that didn’t seem to be of any concern
to him, damn. I sigh loudly; fine I might as well spill it now… he’d get it out
of me sooner or later. The doctor and I sat down in Wufei’s room and I told him
the whole story, about how Duo ran off the first time, then… that happened between him and Wufei, and
how everything pretty much went to Hell afterwards….
When I finished the doctor actually seemed
surprised; I expected him to just accept it like everything else that happens
to us but he didn’t—maybe that’s why I was so reluctant to tell him…. He sat
there for a moment, thinking most likely, then, out of nowhere, he looked up at
me and spoke,
“It sounds like you boys have been having a lot of
troubles lately…” He stood up and headed for the door. “… You said Heero was
sick, correct?” I nod. “All right then, I’ll take care of him first, Wufei can
wait.” I sat there blinking as he hurried past me and out the door…. What the…
“Hey wait!” I get up and chase after the doctor down
the hall and I find him already turning into Heero’s room. Damn he’s fast… when
I get there I find the doctor leaning over Heero’s still form and examining him
from head to toe. Poor Heero… I walk up behind the doctor and lean over him,
looking over his shoulder to see what he’s doing.
“I suggest you find somewhere else to put your body
unless you want me to leave…” I slouched back, a sly grin on my face and I
found a chair to sit in while the doctor continued to examine Heero’s condition
further. About five minutes later the doctor turned around and sighed heavily,
he looked stressed…
“Well?” I asked, almost afraid to find out…
“Well… it is a good thing you called me, all though
you really should have called me sooner….”
“I told you though, he wouldn’t even leave his room,
never once talked to any of us, why would he change his mind for you…?” he
sighed and nodded.
“I understand, but he is very, very sick. He
probably didn’t even know how sick he was… I’m sure he didn’t care either….” I
frown and nod.
“So…? Is he too sick to even…” I couldn’t finish the
sentence, to even what?
“No, don’t worry, he isn’t going to die… too stubborn—but
he could have… I’m surprised he was able to do what he did to Wufei with a 107
degree fever and a flu strong enough to knock out three healthy men…” I sat
there with my mouth gaped open then I blinked and stared down at Heero, it
figures that idiot would be sicker than a dog and still try to do the crap he
was doing…. The doctor shifted again, turning back to Heero and I looked up at
him, I frowned again…
“What… how long will it take him to recover…?” I ask
timidly. He turns again to face me and seems to think on this then,
“It depends.” I glare at him. “If you can actually take
care of him properly, he will recover in a couple of weeks, with the proper
medicines and rest…” I looked at him like he just tried biting his ears… well,
duh! I think he knew I was getting irritated with his wisecracks and he smiled
softly,
“Heero is a strong man and so are the rest of you… just
keep him out of trouble and he’ll be just fine. I’ll give you the prescriptions
before I leave and you can pick them up anytime you like—sooner would be
better.” I breathe finally and he sees that, I know he does. He smiles
reassuringly at me and then straitens up and raises his eyebrows at me.
“Well were is the last patient? Quatre? I can’t believe he of all people, got hurt—how?” I duck
my head and frown again but this time at myself.
“I, he, it’s my fault…” I could see the expression on the
doctor’s face even when I wasn’t looking at him and I frowned again. “When
Wufei and Heero got into their fight, Quatre tried to stop them and he got hurt
in the process… but I wasn’t there to stop them when I should have been and
it’s my fault!” I looked up at the doctor only to find him frowning at me very
deeply with his arms crossed over his chest like he usually did when he was
upset or deep in thought. I bite my lower lip and know immediately that I have
said something stupid.
“Boy, hmm that seems to be a good
name for you, and the rest.” My mouth drops and I frown at him angrily. “That
is all you are and always will be if you keep blaming everything on yourself
and acting the way you do!” I start to protest but he cuts me off.
“Listen, before you say anything. I have taken
care of you since before the last war and I know enough to realize when
something is deeply wrong with you boys and the ironic thing is, you can’t seem
to see it in yourselves. How long have you all known each other, four almost five
years? And given the circumstances you have been put through, together none-the less, you still can’t
see when you have done the right or wrong things…”
I sit there for a moment,
thinking on what he’s said. It very rarely happens when I can actually sit and think on what another person has
said—I’ll listen and consider what someone has said, but I don’t have to think,
only once before has someone moved me enough to make my secretive mind grind
and bend and that being is laying sick, in bed, right before me now… how I wish
he could give me advice on what to do again. I sigh and bow my head again,
understanding that I was acting immature and foolish; I look up at the doctor
with an apologetic frown and he smiles sideways at me…. At least I know he
isn’t really upset with me. He walks
past me and stops at the door, turning back to wait for me, when I finally
stand up and start walking, he continues out the door and down the hall to mine
and Quatre’s room.
He waits for me to get to
the door and then he walks in and strait over to our bed, leaning over my
sleeping angel and checking over his injuries. I stand on the other side of the
bed, watching intently as the doctor slips the covers down to Quatre’s waist
and examines his ribs and chest pains further, after about fifteen minutes of
that slow-torture, the doctor finally straitens up and stares at me,
“I’m sure you know what
I’m going to say, but I’ll say it anyhow—Quatre has two broken ribs.” I frown
deeply and nod my head slowly, knowing what he said to have been true all this
time, I just didn’t want to believe it.
“You know all I can do is
tape him down or put a brace on his body—when he wakes up he’ll be extremely
sore, so I’ll prescribe some pain-killers for him; no walking, no running, no
moving around whatsoever! You know that, don’t make me repeat myself.” I watch
as he pulls some medical tape out of his bag then sets the hulking thing down
on the floor and he looks up at me expectantly,
“Well, help me lift him
up so I can tape him…! I don’t have a brace with me now, but I’ll sign that in
with the rest of the medication on your list. Send somebody over tonight, you
really do need everything for them as soon as is absolutely possible.” I nod as
I lift Quatre’s light weight off the bed, so the doctor can bandage his ribs.
After he has finished with the bandaging, I gently lay Quatre back down into
the comfort of our bed, brushing away a stray strand of that golden, baby-soft
hair from his beautiful face. The doctor must have seen the dreamy look in my
eyes, because he was clearing his throat loudly, pulling me away from my
reverie and I jolted up, staring at him innocently. He just sighed and walked
back out of the room and down the hall to Wufei’s room once more.
I followed, of course, but
I stopped just inside the doorway… and waited. I watched as the doctor walked
over to Wufei’s side and began to check over him once more, I was still
indecisive about Wufei and his actions… over everything. It disturbed me how
everything seemed to be unraveling at the seems, with no hope of recovery, when
we were so focused and secure with ourselves and each other in the war… or,
more precisely, we were cautious. Now that the war is over with—has been for
many years, there is no need for us to be so… ‘cautious’, and we’re taking the
risks we never would have, but wanted to, before. The doctor sighed and I
looked up to see a concerned frown on his brow, he was currently wiping… sweat?
away.
I reluctantly walked over
to his side and waited; he stood up and stared at me for a moment, looking
almost worried.
“What did Heero do to
him?” I swallowed and shrugged—he beat the living hell out of him, that’s what
he did. But I didn’t say that… the doctor turned back to Wufei and continued
talking as he examined Wufei further.
“Wufei has suffered
massive damage to his facial tissues and bone-structure—it is no doubt Heero was the one that did this to him….
I know for a fact, he will have to have a few teeth replaced, and his jaw will
have to be re-aligned… I can’t say for certain but, at least, five of his ribs are broken and one is shattered.” I
swallowed hard, paling at the damage that had been done to Wufei’s body—Heero
really did a number on him. “He will have to be brought in for surgery—I can’t
help him otherwise… I know he won’t like it, but if he ever wants to eat or
breathe properly again, he is going to have to come in…” I nod and a wry smile
forms on my lips.
“Don’t worry about that
doc, he doesn’t really have much of a choice in the matter…” The doctor nodded
and continued.
“Yes, yes, I understand.
Anyway, he has experienced major trauma to his inner tissues of his
abdomen—luckily Heero didn’t rupture any organs…. And, well, other than that,
he only has deep bruises and minor scratches on his arms and anywhere else
Heero got to on him.” The doctor looked up at me again and raised his eyebrows,
sighing with exhaust and I’m sure, frustration over the situation and what will
have to be done to Wufei… I don’t blame him—I guess it’s a good thing we didn’t
call Sally… then I never would have heard the end of it; it’s bad enough
everyone is so suspicious of what has been happening anyway….
“Well, can I use your
phone for a moment, so I can call over an ambulance…? Oh, yes, and here is
everyone’s prescriptions… have this taken care of immediately.” I took the slip
of paper form his old hands and nodded, leading back down the stairs and to the
telephone that sits in the main foyer. He started dialing numbers immediately,
while he was busy with that, I called a servant over and told them to go pick
up all of the prescriptions that had been listed down by the doctor and to
hurry. They scurried about quickly and left moments later in a blur of coats
and aprons. The doctor walked over to me and looked up into my eyes, setting
his hand on my arm reassuringly. I tried smiling but it only came out as a sad
grin.
The doctor smiled and
answered my unspoken questions. “The ambulance will be here a few minutes… I
have a close friend within the system that will take good care of him until I
can get to the hospital, he will make sure nothing… unexpected happens—he knows
who you all are, he’ll be careful alright? Relax, everything will work out—and
I’m sure Duo will turn up eventually… he’s a good kid, he won’t do anything… too stupid.” I give him a warning glare
and he chuckles good naturedly at me; before I can comment on his light
attitude, despite the situation, I hear the tell-tale whining of the ambulance
sirens as they pull into the drive and up to the front. I watch as Henry opens
the large doors before the paramedics can climb all of the stairs to the top of
the enormous porch outside; about seven young men come scurrying in with a
gurney in tow and one is carrying the customary, red emergency bag just in
case.
I sigh and lead the way
back up the stairs and into Wufei’s room, showing them his injured form—I
couldn’t help but smile inwardly at the faces some of the men made—weak. They
didn’t have the guts to hold the gruesome sight down like I did—or any well
trained fighter would, but they maneuvered Wufei onto the gurney despite the
queasiness, I’m sure they all felt. I followed them down the stairs as they
slowly took the steps with Wufei now in their hands; when they reached the door
and took their time getting down the next flight of stairs—we really need to
remodel within safety conditions—the doctor walked up behind the paramedics and
turned back to face me… we stared at each other for a moment, then he spoke
again; I guess somebody had to break the tension.
“He’ll be fine, I know
despite your anger towards him, you’re still worried. I’ll call you as soon as
I get to the hospital, and give you regular check-ups as much as possible.” I
nod hesitantly and the doctor smiles again and walks out the door, Henry
right behind him, closing the doors. When everything had finally calmed down
somewhat, I leaned back against the wall and heaved a great breath of relief. Henry
walked up to me cautiously—I could see him out the corner of my eye.
“Master
Trowa, will Master
Quatre be all right? What of Master
Heero, and Wufei…?” I straitened up and
turned to face him, eyeing him for a moment then put on my best jesters mask
and replied,
“They’ll be just fine,
don’t worry about a thing… once they get the medication into their systems and
get some rest, they’ll be back on their feet in no time.” I smile, just to add
reassurance to his skeptical look, but he nods anyhow and walks away. I let out
a breath of air again and turn to walk up the stairs—again… this is starting to
get real repetitious……
