It was lunch break, and,
though the outer office was devoid of life, Roy sat at his desk under a heaping
pile of paperwork that he was none to eager to do. The pounding of an automail
fist on his door and the fiery ball of red, black and gold was definitely a
welcome distraction. "Fullmetal, just the person I was looking for."
"You weren't looking for shit,
you fucking bastard so spare me!" Ed was bound and determined to
get this issue resolved and the sooner the better, for his sake and for Jean's,
but a rather irritating voice interrupted him before he could do so much as
open his mouth again.
"You slept with Second
Lieutenant Havoc, Edward. Did you
think I wouldn't know?"
The blonde gaped for a few
moments, hastily throwing himself back together after the complete and utter bluntness
that was so not that bastard's usual roundabout way of putting
things. "You're always occupied
with your lady friends anyway!
What difference does it make!" He'd gone over the points of this
argument in his head, but they just weren't panning out now that he was
here. "You're not going to give me
commitment, so why should I give it to you!"
Roy arched a brow at
that. "You know I have to keep up
an image, Edward..."
"No you don't! The office more or less knows
you're fucking me, but that's not the point! Why the fuck did you come on to him?! Is it not enough that you had me, you
have to have everything I touch, too!?"
He'd have to give the boy
credit for figuring that much, but that aside there were things to remedy here. "In case you didn't know, Havoc and I
were together before you, Edward.
And if you must know, he was the one who fucked me the
night before last. I know you're
thinking it, but I didn't force him to do anything."
Ed snarled, hackles
raised. "You didn't have
to, bastard, you have that effect on people," he sneered. "I'm sick of this, Roy. You leave him alone, and you leave me
alone!"
Roy came around his desk and
caught the boy's wrist in a firm grip as Ed turned to stalk out of the office,
tugging him back and easily pinning him against the desk despite protest. His tongue traced the shell of the
squirming boy's ear and he whispered softly, "I worked too hard for you to just let
you walk out that door, Edward..."
Golden eyes widened
impossibly and Edward froze.
"Let go of me, Mustang..."
"Only
if you promise not to run away..."
Roy purred, expertly pinning Ed's hands over his head with one hand and
undoing the clasp on the boy's jacket and pushing up the black tank top with
the other. He moved his lips from
Edward's ear to the exposed chest, tongue flitting over a nipple.
An
unwanted gasp left Ed's lips and he twisted and jerked against Roy's grip. "Get off me!
You fucking bastard!"
Roy
pushed Ed back up onto the desk, papers scattering to the floor. His free hand easily undid the boy's
pants, tugging them down and taking Ed in his hand, stroking slowly. "At least your body's got the right
idea, Edward..."
"S-stop
it..." Ed shuddered, tears forming in his eyes because he knew he couldn't do anything now, he was caught.
A warm tongue ran up along
Ed's neck and Roy delighted in the shiver it caused. "Don't try to deny what you feel..."
Ed swallowed a moan, tears
streaming down his cheeks. "I hate
you, bastard..." A small whimper
made its way from his throat to the tune of "Jean..."
Roy's stroking became more
insistent, and he latched onto the boy's neck, biting and sucking and soothing,
thumb rubbing in the slit and earning a choked sobbing moan from the boy who'd
given up on struggling beneath him.
Jean...please...help me... "S-stop... R-Roy..." Ed whimpered again, golden eyes
clouded and focused on the door.
As if Ed's thoughts were the
ones prodding fate along, the sharp rapping of a knock on the door sounded in
the room.
"Colonel?" Came
the voice of a certain Lieutenant.
"Jean!" Ed found
his strength again, thrashing against Roy and eliciting a moan from himself,
considering the man was still handling him.
Roy shook his head, pulling
Ed into a fierce kiss despite the boy's now freed hands pushing against his
chest almost painfully.
Ed shouting his name was
certainly one of the last things Jean expected to hear coming from behind Roy's
door. The fact that it was his
first name put it even farther down the list. The fact that Ed sounded... terrified (amongst other things)
sent Havoc marching into the room without his superior's consent, but somehow
he doubted that he would care. The
door shutting behind him sounded hollow in Havoc's ears as light blue eyes fell
on the scene in front of him.
Pleading golden eyes focused
on Havoc, tears still overflowing as he tore away from Roy's mouth, still
shoving insistently at the dark-haired man. "Get off..." he choked out, his eyes
screaming at Havoc to 'help me.'
Sighing softly, Roy removed
his hands from Edward's body, straightening his uniform and bending to gather
the papers that had been strewn about--Hawkeye would have a fit if she saw
them. Both blondes in his office
would have been ideal any other time, but right now he was fairly sure was not
one of those times. "You
wanted to speak to me about something, Lieutenant?"
Edward lay there, sprawled
and panting softly, small frame shaking with silent sobs and he was still hard. Golden eyes were slightly hazy,
slightly red, from need and crying, respectively, and they continued to plead
to Havoc, 'get me out of here...take me home...'
To say that Havoc was livid
at that point was probably an understatement. His features had tensed visibly with the restraint he was
putting forth to not leap on the Colonel and crush his hands. "Some of the guys missed you at
lunch, and were wondering if you were alright." At any other time, it would have been a cheerful statement,
but now it was teetering on the edge of murderous. "It seem you're perfectly alright though..."
Havoc crossed briskly over
to Ed, the sharp gaze softening for the boy as he knelt slightly. It'll be okay... He carefully
straightened out the small blonde's clothes, frowning mildly at his pants. Jean's mouth felt dry, and he licked
his lips, buttoning the long red coat a bit to help hide the bulge. "However, Major Elric
doesn't seem to be doing well. May
I ask for permission to make sure the boss gets back home alright?" Cold eyes found Mustang's gaze as Havoc
straightened and spoke with clipped tones, a protective hand lying on Ed's
shoulder.
I take it this means we
won't be seeing each other again in that respect... Roy did his best to hide behind the calm, crisp
demeanor he wore as a mask.
"Permission granted, Lieutenant." Here you are again, my
undoing... I suppose once is better than nothing...you'll be my undoing again
but I've lost it now, haven't I?
"Thank you,
Colonel." Havoc regarded Roy
carefully for a moment, his hand tightening on Ed's shoulder. His own mask of military politeness
that was barely there through the whole encounter slipped at that moment,
showing that Havoc honestly had no idea how to view the man now. A frown twisted over Jean's face
and he turned away, leading Edward to the Colonel's door and taking his angry storm
clouds with him.
Roy watched them go,
wrenching his heart from his chest and leaving a proverbial bloody trail across
his office floor as they went, but he didn't show it. He watched Edward,
trembling, lean heavily against Havoc, head bowed to let his golden bangs
shield his face from questions. What have I done... I deserve their
hatred... I deserve to watch them be happy and entirely out of my reach
forever...
''I'll be back shortly, I think,'' Havoc was saying
as he shut the door, knowing full well that he couldn't risk looking at the
Colonel any more than he had. He sucked in a breath, and was thankful to see
that the others were still only straggling in after lunch.
It was easy
enough to get past Fury with the simple excuse of ''the boss isn't feeling too
great, I'm taking him home.'' I'm taking him home where he'll be alright and
God, Roy, what the hell is wrong with you God damn... He was still pissed,
and everyone in the halls knew better than to get in the way of an angry Havoc.
Ed let himself be ushered
along, still leaning heavily, which made it a bit difficult to walk. Then again, other things were making it
a little difficult to walk, too, but Havoc's hand on his shoulder kept him from
just collapsing right there.
Havoc would have really
liked to just pick the boy up and whisk him off away from curious eyes, but the
action would have inevitably caused three times the amount of curiosity. So he was content in offering Edward a
comforting arm until the taller blonde got him out of site of the
building. He paused, vaguely
noting the brick wall where all of this had started. Havoc regarded Ed carefully for a moment, and then he was
scooping the boy off to continue the trek to his apartment with the boy in his
arms.
A small whimper left Ed's
throat and he made an attempt to meld himself against Havoc, for more reasons
than one.
"Shhh." Havoc attempted to be soothing in
the way he held him, but found that it was failing a bit miserably. He sighed, glad to be heading up steps
and opening doors, even gladder when he could shut the last door and pull the
whimpering blonde to the couch and sit down with him.
"I told him..." Ed
uttered quietly, shakily as he tugged a little on Havoc's lapels. "He said he...w-wouldn't let me
g-go...."
"Shhh," Havoc said
again, cradling the boy and running a soothing hand over his hair. "It's alright, Ed, it's
alright." He offered the boy
a small smile, pressing his lips to his forehead. "If you want him to let you go, he'll have to go
through me before he can get you again, boss."
Ed groaned softly at the
thought, shaking his head and nuzzling up under Havoc's chin. "That's what I'm afraid
of..."
"Don't, it's
alright." Havoc rested his
cheek against Ed's hair, slowly rubbing the boy's arm. "I couldn't tell you what it was
last time. A lapse in my
control. Nostalgia. Whatever. But it's not happening again, I promise you." He squeezed Ed in a haphazard hug.
"But he's a sneaky
manipulative bastard and what if he gets you again?" It sounded childish, but despite all
protests, Ed was just sixteen.
"Are you going back to work? It's only halfway through the
day..."
"If he gets me, we'll
keep in mind that I'm the bigger one, and that I don't have the same ambitions
he does." Havoc hummed a bit,
toying with the idea of work. He
frowned, rubbing Ed's shoulder.
"It'd be better for us in the long run, if I did.... You have your ambitions too, and I'm
not about to ruin them for you.
Some people are damned perceptive on these kinds of things."
Ed nodded, but made no move
to leave Havoc's lap. He was quite
comfortable and quite...well...
...Still aroused, Havoc
noted. The hand that wasn't
rubbing Ed's shoulder slipped over Ed's leg. "Did he hurt you?" He asked quietly, brushing
another kiss on Ed's head.
"No..." Muscles
twitched slightly under Havoc's hand and Ed swallowed compulsively, nuzzling
closer to him. "Not
physically..."
The hand continued its trail
upwards, pushing back the edges of the red coat and moving gently over its
intended target. Havoc held him
close, breathing softly against Ed's hair. "Tell me if I'm making it worse..."
"You should...go back
to work soon...they'll get...suspicious..." Ed took care to make sure his
words were as steady as he could manage, though he leaned against Havoc a bit
more, not at all resisting.
"It's alright... I'll
just pretend you were puking, or something..." The hand took advantage of Ed's lack of resistance,
beginning to rub. "They're bound
to get more aggravated at me for leaving you like that than me not coming back
right away. Now shh."
A quiet moan slipped free
and Ed shifted in Havoc's lap, tilting his head up so that lips brushed against
the taller blonde's throat.
"If you insist..."
Havoc worked the button and
the zipper of Ed's pants so he could slip his hand in them, pulling him out and
stroking gently. "I could
leave if you really want me to," He said teasingly. Despite that, it was apparent that he
didn't plan on going anywhere yet, tilting his head so Ed could get at his
throat better and pumping his hand.
Arms slipped around Havoc's
neck and Ed pulled him into a kiss, moaning softly again.
In a moment of Smart
Thinking, Havoc took off his uniform jacket as he returned Edward's kiss,
nibbling the boy's lower lip.
Jacket safely on another side of the couch, his hand returned to Ed's
erection to stroke and rub again, quickening his pace a bit.
Ed shuddered softly, arching
against Havoc's hand and showing his utter appreciation of the man through
gasps and moans as his lips trailed down along a hard jawline.
Jean smiled a bit, tilting
his head to kiss at Ed's neck. He
started squeezing lightly with his hand as he stroked, his other slipping
between the boy's shoulder blades to support him. "You're lovely, Ed," Havoc murmured appreciatively
against his skin.
"Jeannn..."
Ed pulled himself closer to Havoc, as much so as he could without interfering
with what was going on between them.
Somewhere in the back of his mind he was trying to figure out how he
could ever repay this wonderful man for everything he'd given him in just the
past few days.
"Lovely..." Havoc whispered, grazing lips along the
red mark he was renewing. But as
much as Jean loved having the blonde moaning in his lap (or was it that he
loved the blonde that was moaning?), taking much longer would be compromising
too much for Edward. Nipping at
Ed's neck, he let his hand fly as his tongue followed his teeth.
Ed's grip tightened around
Havoc's shoulders when he came, moaning loudly against his shoulder. As the feeling of ecstasy subsided,
however, he nearly broke down into ragged sobs again, clinging as tightly as
his spent form could manage and whimpering soft half nonsense, 'don't want
you to go...he'll...he'll...don't go back...' over and over.
Havoc held the
sobbing form as best he could with one hand. He reached with the sticky one for
a tissue off the coffee table, wiping his hand off so he could hold Edward
properly and run soothing hands over the boy's back and hair. The older man
shifted, gently laying Ed back on the couch and kissing him softly. ''I'll be
alright... It'll be alright... Shh...'' He smiled at him a bit before he got up
from the couch, leaving Ed for a moment to wander off in the apartment for
something.
Ed tried to convince himself that Havoc was right, that the man could take care
of himself just fine and that Roy couldn't lay a finger on him. But then again,
he hadn't thought that Roy would be able to lay a finger on him, either,
and that thought had him curled in a tiny (who are you calling small!)
ball on the couch.
The taller blonde stroked the little ball's hair as
he eased onto the couch besides him, and then he was actually caressing his
cheek. The tender action made Havoc pause a moment, unsure, and then he sighed.
It was getting harder to brush off the fact that the tiny alchemist was making
Havoc extremely affectionate of him. And protective. Especially when said tiny
alchemist was practically going fetal on his couch.
Havoc was
murmuring reassurances to him again as he used the warm washcloth he had
fetched to clean Ed off, planting a kiss on Ed's flesh hand. ''I promise I'll
come home in one piece, with every article of clothing as it should be.''
The small blonde managed an even smaller smile, uncurling slightly. ''Don't let
him fool you, Jean...'' just look at what he did to me... went unsaid,
but it was in his eyes, in the way he still trembled slightly.
''If it comes to that, you might get to see him with
a black eye.'' I might have to punch him anyway, for making you like this...
Jean squeezed Ed's hand, standing up. ''Don't worry about me, Ed. Get some
rest, eat whatever's left in the fridge if you're up to it... Just don't dwell
on it, alright?'' Havoc leaned down to kiss Ed's cheek. ''I'll be back as soon
as I can.''
Ed nodded slowly. 'I'll fight for you, you're mine...' The thought made
him smile a bit more, though he would have rather been the one to give Mustang
the black eye...
Havoc smiled a little, tugging his uniform jacket
back on over his (slightly damp) shirt. He gave Ed an affectionate parting
glance as he went out the door, hoping the boy would be alright as he
regretfully shut the door and locked it.
The walk to
headquarters was fairly miserable. The walk up the steps was gruesome. Walking
through the doors to sink in his seat left Havoc stewing in a foul mood again.
Fury asked after Ed, nervously fidgeting with his papers. ''He's fine,'' Havoc
replied after a moment. ''He'll be alright.''
Roy was rather glad that Hawkeye had the day off, though he knew he'd be
hounded over the unfinished paperwork that was sure to remain on that same
corner of his desk until a gun was pointed at his head to do it. He lifted his
chin from his hand at the muffled sound of Havoc's voice and smirked to himself
as he called for the man to enter his office.
Sapphire eyes flitted to the Colonel's door with a
look that sent Fury scuttling back over to his own desk. The blonde sighed,
getting up from his chair to do as he was told. He was frowning as he entered
the dark haired man's office, shutting the door as he managed out a ''Yes,
Sir?'' without sounding too agitated.
''How is Major Elric doing?'' Roy managed to keep his eyes on Havoc's face,
hiding his thoughts away behind the same old mask of professionalism.
''Physically, the Major will be fine after some
rest,'' Havoc replied smoothly, eyeing the man.
Roy nodded, fighting the
urge to stand from his desk.
"That's good to hear..."
The previous events played through his head, the way Havoc had...Roy
swallowed...and then the way the man could obviously hardly stand to look at
him.
"Honestly, though, he's
out of his wits." The blame
was on Roy, and it was evident in Havoc's eyes. As was Havoc's desire to get out of that room as soon
as he could. "Was there
anything else you wanted to discuss, Sir?"
The mask slipped for a
fraction of a second and Roy stood, rounding the desk and stopping himself
before he got any further.
"Jean..."
Havoc quirked a brow,
crossing his arms over his chest.
"Yes, Sir?"
Roy tried not to cringe at
the tone of voice, he already felt bad enough as it was. "I'm
sorry..."
"Apologizing to me
isn't going to get Ed to stop shaking, Roy." Jean said flatly.
He took in Roy's expression, frowning slightly at it. At any other time, Havoc would have been
concerned. But right now, he
wanted nothing to do with the man.
This man, anyway.
This wasn't the Roy Mustang that Havoc thought he knew fairly well.
"I know that..."
Roy stepped forward, a stupid move, but he couldn't help it. "I'm not trying to say it will...I
didn't mean to, I couldn't stop myself...I..."
"Couldn't stop
yourself? What the fuck, Roy, I
know you have more control than that!" Havoc really wished he could be shouting at the moment.
"I wish you were
right..." It had been barely audible, and Roy paused. "I know it was wrong of
me..."
Havoc clenched his jaw for a
moment and uncrossed his arms.
"I don't think I can deal with this right now," he stated,
turning to go back through the door.
You're not Roy Mustang.
Before he knew it, Roy had
crossed the room, hand firmly gripping Havoc's wrist. "Jean, please..." It almost made Roy feel sick at
the sound of his own voice.
His hand was still on the
doorknob when Havoc turned to look at Roy, his face unreadable. "We both hurt him, Roy. I don't want it to happen again,"
Havoc said quietly, attempting to tug his wrist free from Roy's grip.
"What you did...for you
I..." For once, Roy found himself stumbling on his words. "I don't want that to be it,
Jean...do you have any idea what you've done to me..."
"Don't." Havoc was staring as the quiet demand
left his lips. He was not
going to get guilt tripped. He was
not. There was a flash of
blonde in Havoc's mind, and he averted his eyes from Roy's. Not not not. "Don't... Bring that up. It was a mistake on both our
parts." Don't tell me I
hurt you too.
Roy's voice was shaking
slightly, even in a whisper.
"Jean..." his grip tightened out of desperation,
"Please don't do this to me again...I can't...please..."
Don't you dare. Havoc
pressed his lips together in a thin line, tightening his grip on the doorknob
and staring hard at the floor..
"Stop fucking with me, Roy," he hissed. Sapphire flashed up at him, and Havoc
wet his lips. "I can't be
with both of you. Stop making me
fucking choose, I can't handle it!"
"And I can't lose both
of you!"
"......" Havoc found a complete lack of words to
respond to that. He frowned,
looking away from Roy again.
Every time I look at you
I remember... How am I supposed
to live if all that does is make it hurt so bad I want to die? Roy sunk to his knees, still
practically clinging to Havoc's wrist. I don't need people, Jean...why is it I need you...
He shut his eyes. There was no way he was going to be
able to see that sight. Havoc
thought his wrist was burning. "Let
go," he whispered. This
wasn't fair. Roy was the one that
was supposed to be confident, not on his knees on the ground. You're both going to ruin me. "You aren't Roy. Let go. Please." You're
both going to break me, let me go.
"Then who am I?"
Roy chanced the brush of his lips on Havoc's palm, dark eyes looking up to the
man's face and inwardly begging him to look at me, Jean please!
''I don't know anymore,''
Havoc replied. ''You're certainly not the man I thought I was in love with
before.''
''You've brought me to my fucking knees already, Jean, I've begged,
I've given to you things I've never given to anyone! I laid my
heart out on the floor for you...'' Roy's grip loosened and he let his gaze
drift to the floor. ''What do I have to do?''
''I don't know, Roy!'' Havoc glared down at him,
which was a mistake all on its own, since it required him to look at the man.
He swallowed, pulling his hand away from Roy's, running it shakily through his
hair. ''I have no idea what you have to do! You gave me everything you already
took from me. Isn't that what you alchemists talk about all the time?'' Jean
shook his head, dragging his hand over his eyes. ''Forget it. Nevermind. I
don't know.''
''Love isn't alchemy, Jean... It's not that simple...''
''No shit. That's why I said to forget it.'' Havoc
rubbed his forehead, turning back towards the door so he wouldn't have to see
Roy the way he was.
Roy slowly got to his feet again, trying to keep his voice in check. ''Look
at me, Jean...'' You did this to me, whether you like it or not... You and
him...
Havoc took in a breath, giving the Colonel at least
the look he wanted. Blue eyes searched Roy's face, not hiding things like they
were before. Now they were just sad, confused, angry, everything. ''I can only
make things worse Roy, let me go.''
Roy reached up to brush his fingers against Havoc's cheek, dark eyes betraying
the pain he felt so vividly. ''Nothing to me is worse than losing you now...'' But
if you have to go...just one more kiss, maybe I can convince you it's worth
staying...
For some reason he wasn't flinching at Roy's touch,
and that was warning enough for Havoc. He stared at Roy mutely, breath caught
in his throat, not knowing what to say without breaking the both of them
completely.
Caution to the wind, Roy tugged Havoc down by the lapels into a kiss that was
everything he felt right now and more. I don't think I can get by knowing
you're just out of my reach...
Blinking in surprise, Havoc pushed the shorter man
back, lips tingling from the kiss. Stop. Stop, I told him I wouldn't. I
promised. Don't do this.
Roy turned away, fighting hard to keep himself together. Hurting this
bad should be fucking illegal.
Jean leaned heavily against the door, surely burning
a hole in the floor with his stare. He collected his thoughts, fixed his
expression, and steeled himself for what he was about to do. ''I'm not fucking
worth it, Roy. Don't break yourself over the illusion that I am.''
With the calm
statement up in the air, Havoc fought his emotions back down again and yanked
the door open, stepping back into the other office and shutting the door before
either of them could stop him.
Hawkeye was sure to kill him later for not doing all that paperwork so neatly
stacked on his desk. Roy managed two steps before simply collapsing to the
floor on his hands and knees, no longer caring about the hot tears running down
his face. ''Don't break me under the illusion that you're not...'' he whispered
to the carpet, knowing nobody would come. Hawkeye was out, and the only others
who ever walked in were blonde.
