Chapter 4
He started kissing back after an initial moment of shock. My entire being was shouting ‘Yes’ but I kept the kiss chaste. After all, there is only one first kiss, and if I had anything to say about it, there would be plenty more between us.
I pulled back after a minute and rested my forehead against his. I ran my hands along his neck and shoulders, just sitting there practically in his lap, breathing with him.
“Duo, I,” I began. He looked up into my eyes, concern showing in them. I started again. “Are you okay with this?”
He smiled lightly and whispered, “Yeah. Yeah I am.”
I let out a huge sigh. “I never thought that this dream could ever become a reality.”
Duo looked startled, then he started to chuckle, and then laughed lightly. “What a pair we make,” he said softly. I nodded, chuckling along with him. “After all,” he went on. “I know exactly what you mean.” He leaned up and brushed his lips lightly across mine, and then leaned back onto the arm of the couch. We both just sat there for a few minutes, staring into each others eyes.
Until the ring of the doorbell interrupted us. We both turned out heads to look at the door. Duo looked at me. “You expecting anyone?” he asked.
“Not that I know . . .” and that’s when I looked at the clock. “Crap!” I jumped off of the couch. It was 5:30pm, and Sally was coming over and helping to finish settling that stupid bet, gloating and grinning the entire time. I knew that the pictures weren’t anything I was ever going to live down.
Now to explain this to Duo.
