March: Of Fishes, Flowers, and Family

Well the baby’s due in a couple weeks. Thank God it’s the end of the month, but that means that Dad’s only here for another week, too. My first day as head of the company is St. Patrick’s Day, and that sucks. It means that I can’t go out and get drunk with my friends, but I can taunt Duo that he can’t either. Yup.
He’s doing really well in his “training,” if you can call it that. All he has to learn is proper business meeting manners and how to look at a calendar to know where I have to be and when. That, and paperwork. He gets to learn how to do paperwork. The stuff that I’ve been slaving over for way too long. A month can feel like a million years when one is bogged down with monthly budgets and merger propositions, most of which are either way off or really suck. But I came up with a brilliant idea for corporate unity.
I was watching a re-run of Ally McBeal last night, yeah I know, but I was tired and bored, and I really liked the bathrooms. Co-ed bathrooms; it just seemed like such a good idea. I know that we’d have to remodel some of the men’s rooms, but I think the idea has merit. Besides, I’d leave one single-sex bathroom on each floor, both a men’s and a n’s,n’s, but each floor here has four bathrooms. Two of each would work. I don’t know what anyone else would think of it. I’d run it by Duo but…well…he’s kind of a pervert, so I expect a resounding yes from him. If not from anything else, then the novelty of peeing with a girl.
Well actually, it isn’t that novel for him. He went into ladiladies’ room with Relena once before, mostly because she didn’t have anyone else to go with. It wasn’t the nicest of clubs and there was no way he was letting her go alone. Well, that and he had to go, and yes, he did go inside and use the restroom. You know, I have no idea why I just wrote that. Oh well, no way to erase it now. There’s a rule for writing in you, Diary; I’m not allowed to erase anything. Duo set it up.

I have to say I think I just came acrthe the single most interesting piece of paperwork ts crs crossed my desk in a month. Columbia med school sent a request for internship approval, and guess what…that’s where Wufei goes to school. I wonder how many strings I have to pull to get him here?

Apparently there weren’t that many strings, I got his spot secured in the Winner, Inc. Medical Clinic. Cool huh? I just hope he doesn’t get mad at me. The best part is he’s going to be working with my favorite doctor, Sally. She’s going to drive him up the wall. That was the easy part to fix, too. After I secured his placement here, I called over to Sally and asked if she’d like an intern. She was more then happy to accept, especially since he was a friend of mine. Oh she’s going to drive him nuts, but…well I don’t really want to play matchmaker or anything, but they’d just be too good for each other. I just figure if I push them together…well that’s all the meddling I’m going to do. I got really close to ruining my friendship with Duo and Relena over the whole Heero thing; I don’t want all that stress again. Fish are more the stressful enough for me.

I just hope that \'Fei isn\'t mad at me for getting him an internship here. I know he\'s been stressing over the thought of leaving the city just to work in a hospital, and that was part of my reasoning. He didn\'t want to leave, but he wasn\'t going to say anything because he doesn\'t want to leave us. Even though med school leaves little time to socialize, he kind of likes to know we\'re there.
Now he\'s not going anywhere. If he wants, I\'ll even get him a job after school\'s done, but he really hates asking for help. He might resent even the little bit of meddling that I\'ve done so far. I hope he doesn\'t think I did it because he wasn\'t good enough; I did it to ensure that my friend is around for all the things happening in my life. I have a feeling that he\'s going to be needed here.
