Lunch break! I actually got a lunch hour at a normal eating time. I think it\'s a miracle. Of course, we had to wheedle the schedule to do this. Hilde\'s flying into NYC today and Duo wanted to be at the airport to meet her, so we, and I do mean we, pushed everything around that we could. That\'s why I\'m sitting at an airport food court eating junk while Duo\'s checking arrival times.
Hilde\'s visits are always fun. It\'s like having two hyperactive teenagers running around, and that\'s just the siblings. The rest of the band are…unique, to say the least.
Oh, the flight must be coming in; either that or Duo got ht dht doing something again. I\'d say it\'s the first one, since there\'s not a slew of security guards running after my sprinting assistant.
3:30 pm
I swear Hilde\'s band just keeps getting weirder every time I meet them. Her line-up doesn\'t change, but as they make more money, they become more eccentric. There\'s Steve, the bass player, also Hilde\'s ex, who seems to think it\'s funny to have enough metal in his body to set off the security detectors at every airport in the world, seriously. He\'s got a running total, a scrapbook of every checkpoint security guard that\'s had to search him, Polaroids and autographs of every single one of them.
Lola is a interesting creature, too. She\'s the drummer the \"helped\" Hilde figure out she\'s a lesbian. Hil and Lo have been really good friends for years now, and everyone knew that Lola wanted in Hilde\'s pants, and she finally made it, but they both figured out it was a little weird and decided that it wouldn’t work.
Lola\'s always been a little eccentric though, with more art on her body than the average art museum. Her hair\'s still the same, black and straight, with blunt-cut bangs, and she\'s still dressed like someone who stepped right out of the 1950\'s, but that\'s not the weird part. The punk look I can deal with, it\'s the fact that she speaks in Dickens-style rhyme that sends my head spinning. That, and the fact that she absolutely adores Wufei for no apparent reason.
Then there\'s Eileen, the lead guitarist, who usually is the most normal one in the bunch, and I say usually. She\'s got brown hair, cut in a stylish bob, and expressive grey eyes. She dresses like any average female rocker in slightly baggy pants and belly tees, but it was the sable and white furball that had me doing a double take. Irving is kind of cute though, for a three-toed sloth, and very sweet. Seems he took a liking to Leeny while they were over in England. He belonged to some snotty royal who just kept him in a cage in his menagerie. She took great nse nse to that, and bought Irving right then and there. They\'ve been inseparable since. She really does have the biggest heart out of everyone that I\'ve ever met. She\'d take in a stray dog with three legs if given the chance, kind of like Trowa.
Hilde\'s kind of the calming factor for the group, which is unusual considering that she has more energy then Duo. She keeps them all grounded though, and focused while she\'s bouncing off the walls. And put her and Duo in the same room, well nothing\'s really safe. Visits from the band basically means life is really interesting for a while. REALLY interesting.
It was kind of hard to tell who\'s set of news was the most important: my coming out or Duo actually having a boyfriend. The four of them talked non-stop about it for something close an hour; it was a constant stream of conversations, usually two or three at a time. What it boils down to is they want to meet everyone, so it\'s going to be a weekend of no sleep and even less down time. No relaxing here, just fun, and no one\'s getting out of it. It should be interesting to say the least.
