March: Of Fishes, Flowers, and Family

Monday, March 24th

This weekend was great! It really was. Everyone had dinner and got to know everyone else, and the entire group got along swimmingly. Even Wufei came out with us, his finals finally over. He\'s excited. No more school for him, now just the pseudo-real world of residency.
It was hard to tell, on Friday night, who was more nervous, Heero for meeting Duo\'s sister or Duo for the introduction. It was really quite cute, but I don\'t think I want to be around when he meets Howard. Hilde loved Heero. Absolutely loved him. In fact she practically welcomed him into the family and asked him when the wedding was. She did tell him he\'d better take care of her brother, though, or she\'d rip off his balls and force feed him them. I know it\'s kind of graphic, but it\'s Hil. No one noticed.
Her hair\'s fire engine red right now, which is fitting for her mood. There are times when I think her hair is a mood ring, it changes colors so often. But that\'s not what I\'m writing about.
The last response to my e-mail came in today. I was waiting until all of my sisters got back to me before I read them. It was one way to delay the inevitable, but I can\'t put it off anymore. At least Duo\'s going to be here when I read them. I think I\'ll need the moral support.

The vote is in and the majority ruled in favor of supporting me. Most of my sisters are proud that I finally came to grips with my sexuality and arppy ppy that I found a nice young man. At least all of them didn\'t decide to disown me. Twenty-nine vs. one aren\'t great odds, and I wasn\'t prepared to fight that. Luckily I don\'t have to. The rundown of reactions went like this:
\"Glad you realized it/ it\'s about time\": 15
\"I\'m disappointed that I won\'t get nieces/nephews from you\": 6
\"I knew we shouldn\'t have put you in those dresses\": 4
\"You should step down for your position because you\'ll ruin the family name/reputation\": 3
\"I\'m glad I\'m not the only homo in the family!\": 1 (and I didn\'t even know Kayla was a lesbian.)
I think my favorite was Iria\'s though. It was simple and to the point. \"So when are you going to bring your boyfriend up to visit the baby?\" Just that one line. I love my oldest sister. She\'s just really cool.
I\'m also not sure who wrote Uncle Asum and Aunt Hank, but I got an e-mail from them asking for a picture of Trowa and me for their scrapbook. Something about wanting to show off their nephew and his boyfriend. Trowa thought that one was funny, especially since Aunt Hank kept asking if he had a nice ass. I told him yes because Trowa does, although he\'s refusing the picture thing. I think he\'s a little camera shy. Not that he has to be, he\'s gorgeous, but then again I might be biased. He is my boyfriend after all.
