CRYING TO THE WALLSdir=RTL style='font-size:10.0pt'>

PART FIVE

*

“And what about the
forensics reports?”

“I made a call
downstairs, they said that they’ll have it by morning.”
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“And the DNA results?”style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Also delayed.”style=t-sit-size:10.0pt'>

“So you’re saying that
there’s nothing we can work on?” Une’s voice was pretty pissed when she spoke
to one of her officers.

The man shrunk in his
chair, and shook his head. “Just those three folders.”
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Which we already went
through, TWICE.” Une growled.

“Yeah, well, I didn’t
know Eric was supposed to bring me the reports... I knew that he was supposed
to...”

“Enough with the
excuses already!” The woman called, punching the table. “We got a terrorist
group to catch and we can’t do a THING because of some damn missing REPORTS?!
And God damn it- Maxwell! Wake up!”

“Huh?” Duo blinked and
looked up. He was sitting in the far edge of the table, as far away from Une as
possible. He had had little sleep last night, and since he was bored out of his
mind, he dozed off. That’s until Une had decided to show the world how LOUD her
voice can get.an>

Duo straightened up,
putting his arms down, since they were folded across his chest. He cleared his
throat and mumbled an apology.

“What is going on
around here?!” Une demanded, glaring at everyone around the table. “Since when
have the Preventers become into a lazy bunch of whores!? Are you seriously
telling me that YOU are the people the world is depending on?! Aren’t you
ashamed to call yourselves defenders of peace?! What’s going on here?! And
where the hell is Yuy with my reports?!”

Just then, the door
clicked open, and all eyes turned to look at the person entering. Duo’s eyes
widened and he straightened in his chair, shocked by the sight.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

Heero Yuy had just
walked into the room, two and a half hours late.

Now THAT had never
happened before.

Duo followed Heero
with his eyes as the young man slowly closed the door and walked to his seat.
He was carrying a bunch of documents in one hand, and a thick folder in the
other. His hair was messier than ever, looking as if he didn’t even comb it
before he came to work. He was wearing the clothes from yesterday; the black
trousers, and a very unflattering checkered shirt, hanging loosely down his
thin form. Needless to say, the Japanese youth looked like he had just gotten
up and ran all the way to work, running through the sewers.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Good morning, Heero.”
Une snarled, settling into her seat. “I’m glad you decided to grace us with
your presence.”

10.0pt;font-family:Verdana;mso-bidi-font-family:Verdana'>Duo glared at her
momentarily, but then he heard Heero gasp quietly, and whirled around to look
at him. He nearly missed the small wince that crossed Heero’s face when he sat
down. Duo frowned to himself, eyes narrowing.

“I’m sorry I’m so
late.” Heero finally spoke, looking apologetically at Une. “But I have the
reports...”

*
*   *

Duo sat at his desk,
up in the tenth floor, tapping his pen on the table. He was leaning on one
elbow, looking around the office floor with bored eyes. The meeting with Une
had lasted for what seemed like an eternity. He always hated these things. He
preferred fieldwork much better. But nooooooo... He had to get stuck doing
paper work! He was bored out of his mind!

Letting his mind
wander, Duo tried to think about what he could do for fun. The lunch break was
in four hours, and there was no way he could get out of work before that. He
looked around the office cubicles, watching the various people around. Most of
them were working in front of their computers, some were shuffling through
mountains of paper work, and some were busy doing other various things. All in
all, a whole lot of boring shit.

Duo tried to let his
mind drift, and think about pleasant and more exciting things. But he couldn’t.
He tried to think about Hitomi, but the minute she came into his mind, it made
his head hurt, so he switched the subject.

He let his gaze wander
into a further corner of the large hall, where some vending machines and a
coffee machine was. His lips lifted in a small smile as he spotted a familiar
figure pour herself some coffee.

Heero was bent over
the machine, pouring himself some hot water. Duo’s eyes automatically went down
to stare at his ass, something that was like instinct to him when the beautiful
Japanese boy bent. He knew it was wrong staring at him, but he couldn’t help
it. He was bored.

And horny.style='font-size:10.0pt'>

God! If it were a
couple of weeks ago, he would have NEVER been so bored. No. A couple of weeks
ago, if he saw Heero bent over like that, he would run over there and capture
the stunning boy in his arms.

Duo smiled slyly to
himself, shifting a little in his seat. God he was horny. He couldn’t remember
the last time he had had sex... No. That wasn’t true. Of course he remembered.
How could he forget? How could he forget Heero’s hot body, pressed against his,
as he slammed into him over and over, right there in the men’s hroom.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

His body and mind
remembered the details vividly. The way Heero’s body moved against his, all hot
and trickling with sweat. They were standing inside one of the booths, Heero’s
back pressed against Duo, the braided boy’s arms locked tightly around the
lithe body, their hips moving against each other in a perfect rhythm. The way
Heero had leaned his head back on Duo’s shoulders, his hands closing around
Duo’s, his knuckles turning white as he forced himself to keep quiet. The sound
of his panting, his silent moans of pleasure... the way he rasped his name,
over and over, with every thrust... The way his eyes were closed in ecstasy...
his thick chocolate bangs soaked with sweat, clinging to his wet forehead...
his mouth, slightly open, the perfect cherry lips forming his name: “Duo...
Duo... Gods... Duo... love... you...”

Duo blushed at his
arousal and hurried to hide it, coming as close to the desk as possible.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

How could he EVER
forget?

“Dat...t...” Duo
cursed quietly, forcing himself to stop thinking about it. He shouldn’t let his
hormones get the better of him. He knew that he had to take it slowly with
Hitomi. It was the same with Heero, way back in the time when they’ve just
become lovers. It didn’t matter how horny he was, he knew he had to wait. But
he was frustrated, so it was no wonder he was recalling this right now. After
all, Heero was his latest lover, so it was only natural. It was only natural
that he was thinking how Heero’s body collapsed onto his, still trembling from
the force of his orgasm. How he would ask Duo to hold him, to stay inside of
him, just a little longer... How he would whimper when they parted, and then
Duo would bend down and kiss him passionately. How he would smile then, so
sweet and happy, and then they would promise to do more of this at home.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

They never did though.
That was the last time. Things got a little crazy after that. Work got harder
and more demanding, and the two grew apart for some time. Slowly but surely,
Duo had began to loose interest. The routine was killing him. He had to get
out. He couldn’t stand it. Get up, go to work, come home, have dinner, have
sex, go to sleep, get up, go to work, come home... After a life filled with
adrenaline rushing activities, he simply couldn’t handle it.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

He became bitter and
angry at the world, and at himself. He was angry with himself for becoming so
damn ordinary. Heero didn’t seem to mind. He seemed to love the routine. He
hung to it desperately, wanting nothing but the comfort of habit. So Duo
decided that Heero could keep his routine, but he was out. Out to seek
something more. More than what he had. More than Heero. More than everything.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

Duo sighed and dropped
his head down, pillowing his head in his arms. He peeked at Heero from between
his arms, pouting. He watched the boy was he straightened up, stirring his
coffee. His eyes locked on those amazingly long and pale fingers, holding the
teaspoon as it spun. He whimpered silently and closed his eyes, his erection
throbbing.

But it was aching to
touch something that he no longer had. Something he had given up on. He should
really stop thinking like this. It was Hitomi that he liked. This was only his
body playing tricks on him. He wanted something new. He NEEDED something new.
Maybe he should call Hitomi and they’ll go out somewhere tonight. That will
keep these thoughts from crawling into his mind.

* sp; sp;
*   *

Unfortunately for him,
Hitomi was busy that evening. That meant that he had to stay home, doomed to
sit and brood in his boredom.

He arrived to his and
Heero’s apartment late that evening, after being asked to take care of a few
things in the office. He walked through the door, sighing to himself, and
turned on the lights.

He was surprised to
see Heero, lying on the couch, deep asleep.

Duo smiled slightly
and shook his head. “Couldn’t even maketo tto the bed, eh?” He chuckled to
himself, walking over to the couch. He stood by the sofa, just looking down at
the sleeping figure. He noticed that the blanket was nearly falling off of
Heero’s slim form, so he bent down and tucked him in, careful not to wake him.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

Heero sighed
pleasantly and turned in his sleep, his back now facing Duo. The braided boy
found himself pouting at the action, wanting to catch a glimpse of Heero’s face
again.

“What am I thinking!?”
He berated himself, shaking his head from side to side. “Gawd! I should take a
cold shower or something...” He added quietly, walking out of the living room.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

*
*   *

When he was out of the
shower he saw that Heero was awake, standing by the refrigerator. He was
wearing his shorts and a large, loose, white tank top, his hair messy from
sleep. Duo smiled at the boy and went over to the kitchen as well.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Heya buddy! Slept
well?”

Heero turned, a bit
startled to hear Duo’s voice, like he hadn’t been expecting him to speak.
“H-hai.” He finally answered, looking like he didn’t know what to say next.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“You pulled quite a
nasty stunt back in the office. Got Une blowing some steam, eh?”
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Aa.” Heero answered
quietly, turning back to the fridge.

“So I gather you had a
good time last night?” Duo questioned teasingly, elbowing Heero.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

This time, Heero
didn’t answer, and just kept looking through the fridge.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

Duo sighed and leaned
over the kitchen counter, folding his arms across his chest. He forced on a
smile and looked up at Heero. “Ya hungry?” He asked, trying to pick up some
sort of a conversation. “Cuz I’m starved!” He added with another forced smile,
eyeing Heero carefully. The boy was awfully quiet, even more than usual.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

Seconds went by and
Heero still didn’t answer.

Duo sighed, bowing his
head slightly. “Heero?”

“Huh?” The boy asked
dumbly, looking up from the fridge. He was holding a cup of yogurt in one hand,
and an anpple in the other.

“I asked if you’re
hungry. Maybe we can make us something nice?”

“Oh... I... I can’t.
Sorry.” Heero answered, closing the fridge.

Duo frowned. “Why
not?”

“I’m... I’m not
hungry.” He let out, and turned to walk away, still holding the apple and
yogurt.

Duo’s frown deepened
and his eyes narrowed, focusing on the food. “Then why are you eating?”
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Johnson has to come
and pick me up.” The Japanese boy explained, his back facing Duo. “We’re going
out to have dinner.” He added quickly and walked out of the kitchen, sipping
his yogurt.

Duo raised an eyebrow,
very much confused. “Ya sure you’re not hungry?” He called after Heero, a
little concerned about his behavior.

Heero stopped in his
tracks and turned to face Duo. “I can fix you something up if you want.”
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Oh no! No! There’s no
for you to bother over it...” Duo hurried to say. “Just enjoy your date!” He
added with a smile.

Both boys just stood
there for a few silent and awkward moments, staring at one another. Finally,
Heero nodded and walked away, taking another sip from his yogurt.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

Duo frowned and
followed him with his gaze, very much confused. His stomach then rumbled and he
blushed, looking away. He turned to make himself some dinner.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

*
*   *

Duo leaned on the
windowsill; hand over his chest, looking down at the street. It was dark and
mostly empty, only one car parked under the nearest streetlight. Next to the
car, stood two figures, one large and tall, the other small and fragile
looking. Duo’s eyes narrowed as he examined the tall figure. He followed the
man’s hand as he raised it up to caress the other figure’s cheek.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

Anger flashed in Duo’s
eyes and he leaned closer to the window, glaring at Johnson. He noticed Heero
flinch back a little as the man petted him, and he followed the boy’s gaze back
to Johnson. The man was speaking now, looking quite angry. His movements were
gentle, but his words seemed nasty. He gestured at the car with one hand, using
his other hand to turn Heero’s head towards the car as well. He shouted
something more, stomping his foot on the ground. Heero just bowed his head,
staying quiet.

Duo tensed as he saw
Johnson turn back to the Japanese boy, grabbing his hands in his fists. Heero
looked up at him then, a sorrowful look on his face. He said a few words, which
Duo couldn’t possibly hear, but he could tell that it was an apology. Heero
always looked like he was about the cry when he was really sorry. And he would
always offer a sad little smile when he apologized.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

Duo sighed and allowed
himself to relax when Johnson’s features softened and the large man bent down
to kiss his boyfriend. It seemed that Heero was forgiven, but for some reason;
Duo didn’t move an inch and kept looking down at the couple. He watched them as
they exchanged a few words, eyeing Heero carefully as the man moved around him.
He watched Heero as he waited for Johnson to walk into the car and unlock the
door for him.

He frowned when he
suddenly realized what the boy was wearing. It was ANOTHER ugly, checkered,
shirt. He had NEVER seen Heero wear such a shirt. Usually the boy wore simple
t-shirts and tank tops, things that were simple and comfortable. He didn’t like
buttoned up shirts, not to mention CHECKERED. Come to think of it, since Heero
and Johnson got together, Heero seemed to do all sorts of things Duo knew he
didn’t like. Like this one time Johnson took him to a baseball game, or down to
the tracks. One time Heero had mentioned they went to a casino, or some kind of
club Duo knew Heero would never EVo too to...

Maybe he was following
his advice and trying new things. Who knew, with Heero, it was always hard to
tell.

Duo sighed and turned
away from the window. He heard the car drive off, and sighed again. He eyed the
dark and empty apartment, feeling a little lonely. He turned on the television
to have some noise around, and walked into the kitchen. He looked through the
fridge, trying to find something to eat, but it was mostly empty. It was
Heero’s turn to do the shopping, but it seemed that the boy didn’t get around
to do it. Either that or he bought food only to himself. Usually Duo didn’t
mind, since he hardly ate at home, but now he was hungry. And bored. And
lonely. And still a le hle horny.

Closing the fridge,
the braided boy walked into the living room. He just stood there, looking
around. The place was a m Duo Duo wondered if Heero had stopped bothering
himself with the housework. He couldn’t remember the last time he thought about
housework. He took it for granted, because when he wase, ie, it would
always be clean, there would always be food and there would always be Heero.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

But now, there was
none. Now, it was Heero who was out all the time.

With nothing better to
do, Duo began to clean up the place.

*
*   *

“And are you gonna be
free soon then?”

“It’s really hard to
tell. My agent said it might take a few more days.”
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Does it take so long
to shoot a damn magazine?”

“It’s a lot of
pictures.”

“So... no dinner
tonight? It’s the third time you canceled this week!” Duo whined into the
phone, desperation in his voice.

On the other side of
the line, Hitomi sighed. “I’m really sorry Duo, but no. I have to get up early
tomorrow. I haven’t time tonight.”

“You’re not even free
for lunch, tomorrow?”

“Sorry, Duo.”style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“The day after
tomorrow then.”

Again a sigh. “Duo...”style='font-size:10.0pt'>>

“The day after?”style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Duo, I can’t. I’m
sorry. How many times do I have to tell you?!” Hitomi sighed in annoyance.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

Duo bowed his head,
his eyes sliding shut. He closed his fist around the receiver. “I’m sorry. I
over-reacted. It’s just that I... I miss you.”

Hitomi chuckled.
“You’re a sweet guy, Duo, and I miss you too, but you have to understand that I
have a lot of work to do, now that spring is about to come. We have a whole new
collection to present.”

“I understand.” Duo
let out sadly. “Call me when you have time, kay?”

“I sure will, Duo.”
The girl replied with a smile. “I’ll talk to you tomorrow then. Bye.”
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Bye...” The brd
bd
boy let out, his face downcast. The line was terminated, Duo Duo just kept
holding the phone, frozen in his place. He stared numbly at his feet, sinking
in his misery.

Right then, Heero
walked into the living room, after coming out of the shower. It was Friday
afternoon, and the two just came back from work about three hours ago. Duo had
taken his turn in the shower first, positive that he has a date waiting for
him. But he was proven wrong.

Heero stopped in his
tracks when he saw Duo standing by the phone, his entire demeanor downcast. His
back was facing him, so Heero couldn’t see his face, but he guessed that they
were gloomy as well, something that was very unlike Duo.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Duo?” He finally
spoke, taking a step towards the boy.

“Yeah..?”style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Are you all right?” style='font-size:10.0pt'>

The braided boy sig dee deeply. “...yeah.”

“Are you sure?” Heero
tried again, unconvinced.

“It’s nothing, Heero,
don’t worry.” He let out, slowly putting the phone down. He turned to face the
other boy, and was surprised to see him wearing nothing but a pair of ragged
sweatpants and a tee shirt, which meant that he... that he wasn’t planning on
going out!

A smile crept up to
Duo’s face and he grinned at his friend. “Hey, Heero! You’re home tonight,
right? Maybe we can do something! Ya know, get pizza and watch an old movie or
something! Just like old times!”

Heero smiled weakly at
Duo’s sudden enthusiasm, but shook his head. “I’m sorry, Duo, but I’m going out
in a few hours.”

Duo’s grin suddenly
dropped. “Oh.”

An awkward silence
fell between the two.

“Well, um... can’t ya
cancel or something? It’s only one night...” Duo suggested, looking up
hopefully. “We didn’t do this for a long time... could be nice, ne?”
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

Heero swallowed and
bowed his head a little. “I don’t know... I promised Johnson I’ll--”
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Just tell him you’re
not feeling weC’moC’mon, Heero, it’ll be fun! You choose the movie!”
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

Heero chuckled lightly
at the offer. He looked up at Duo, hesitation in his eyes. Duo kept looking at
him, face hopeful, eyes begging him to ease the loneliness even by a little
bit.

Finally, Heero sighed
and looked away. “I’ll see what I can do...”

*
*   *

“This is great, no? I
can’t remember the last time we sat together like this...” Duo commented
casually, throwing some popcorn into his mouth.

“Aa.” Heero let out
quietly, and shifted in his seat on the couch, making sure not to brush past
Duo’s body in the process. His whole body was tense with nervousness, and he
was sitting with his arms on his lap, unmoving. He barely touched the pizza Duo
ordered, and he had a hard time concentrating on the movie they were watching.
He was too busy trying to figure out why Duo was being so friendly and nice,
suddenly begging for his company. He had to lie to Johnson in order to
get free for the night, but he wondered where he would have had more fun: being
anxious and nervous here, or enduring Johnson’s company for another night.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“I bet Corela did it.
She’s such a bitch! Ten bucks she killed Ahmed!” Duo chatted on, leaning back
into the sofa. Heero flinched as their hands touched. He moved away a little,
blushing.

“Ha! What a moron!”
Duo exclaimed, rolling back in a fit of laughter.

Heero forced himself
to smile back at the laughing boy. He had no idea what was so funny. He wasn’t
paying much attention to the movie. He looked back at the TV screen, frowning.
He tried to think of something to say to Duo, but he couldn’t find a proper
topic. It was so strange, once he could have told him almost EVERYTHING. But
now, it was just too awkward.

Duo wiped a tear of
laughter from the corner of his eyes, still smiling. He turned to look at
Heero, wanting to share the joke with the silent boy. The smile faded the
minute he realized that Heero wasn’t paying much attention to the movie. His
head was facing the opposite side, deep in thought.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Heero,” Duo began,
reaching a hand towards his friend.

Slowly, Heero turned
to look at him.

Duo smiled kindly and
took Heero’s hand in his. “Is the movie too boring? You wanna do something
else?”

Heero looked down at
their hands as if seeing them joined like that was a strange and unthinkable
thing.

“Heero?”style='font-size:10.0pt'>

10.0pt;font-family:Verdana;mso-bidi-font-family:Verdana'>He looked up at Duo,
slowly raising his head up.

“Are you tired? Is
that it? You didn’t seem to get much sleep lately.”
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

He was surprised that
Duo noticed. He looked back down at their hands, slowly pulling his hand back
from Duo’s grasp. “That’s not it...”

“What is it then?” Duo
asked, concerned. “You know that you can tell me ANYTHING.” He assured the boy,
again reaching for his hand.

This time, Heero
didn’t pull away, and just stared numbly at their hands. He took a deep breath,
and slowly turned to meet Duo’s eyes. “Duo I...”

“Yes?” Duo asked,
anxious to hear what Heero had to say.

“I... Um... I wanted
to--“

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!style='font-size:10.0pt'>

The pounding on the
front door cut Heero in mid-sentence, and both boys looked up, confused.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Who the hell pounds
like an asshole this late at night?!” Duo growled, glaring at the door.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“I’ll get it.” Heero
sighed and got up. He walked over to the door, feeling Duo’s gaze on him. He
unlocked all the locks and then slowly opened the door. He gasped as he was met
with the face of one angry and unhappy Johnson.

Heero’s hand dropped
down from the doorknob, and he stood there, shocked.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Feeling better, I
presume?!” Johnson snarled, pushing the door open the rest of the way.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“I... uh...” Heero
began stammering, his eyes glued to the floor. “I...”
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“I’m a liar, you were
about to say?” The man asked angrily, glaring down at Heero.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“No, you don’t understand!”
Heero protested, his head snapping up to look at the taller man. “It’s just
that I...”

“Wanted to stay home
for one fucking night.” Duo’s voice came from behind the two. Heero whirled
around, stunned by the sight of his roommate approaching the door. His eyes
widened as he realized Duo was not at all happy. He was glaring at Johnson.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

The German was also
busy glaring down at Duo. “Mind your own fucking business, Maxwell. If
you’ve forgotten, Heero is with ME now.”

“Chk! Doesn’t seem
like it to me.” Duo spat, looking at the man in disgust. “To me it seems like
he wants to stay home tonight.”

Heero looked up from
Johnson to Duo, and then back again. The two were glaring at each other like
sworn enemies, battling a battle of will. He swallowed and looked away, lost as
to what to do.

“We had a date
scheduled for tonight.” Johnson snarled, snatching Heero’s hand and puling the
boy closer to him.

“Well, tough luck!”
Duo called back, grabbing Heero’s other hand, and pulling the boy towards him.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Fuck off asshole! And
keep your hands off my lover!” The man roared, puling Heero towards him again.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

Heero gasped as he was
yanked towards the bigger man, crashing against his chest. He tried to pull his
hand away, looking up at Johnson. “Let me go.” He asked, not liking the way the
man was looking at Duo. “Johnson, please. Let me go and then we can leave.”
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

Johnson tore his gaze
away from the braided youthd tud turned to look down at Heero. Heero looked
back at him, his eyes shimmering with plea.

“Just stop fighting...
okay? I’ll get dressed and then we can go.”

“I thought you wanted
to stay home tonight.” Duo reminded him, forcing himself not to glare up at
Johnson.

“It doesn’t matter,
Duo, just... just don’t fight over it. It really isn’t that important...” The
boy pleaded them, looking at Duo, hoping to make him understand.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Are you sure?” Duo
asked, still not convinced.

“Of course he’s sure!”
Johnson called in annoyance.

“I asked HIM, not
you!” Duo shouted back.

Finally, Heero was
able to free himself from the man’s grip, while the two were still arguing. He
sighed and then looked up at them both. “I’ll just get dressed and we’ll go...”
He mumbled, already running towards his bedroom.
10.0pt'>

Johnson smiled
victoriously, and Duo kept glaring.

*  &nb*

Weeks flew by even slower
than before. Heero was still seeing Johnson, and Duo was still fighting for a
few precious hours with his girlfriend. It was so frustrating for him. He would
try to convince Heero to stay home more often, but the boy wouldn’t be
convinced. He was always out with Johnson. Duo guessed that it made them
official lovers now, and that Heero had finally move.style='font-size:10.0pt'>

He was fully assured
of that when one day, when he walked into Heero’s bedroom, he was faced with a
shocking revelation.

“You’re moving out?!”
Duo called, completely stunned. He had just walked into Heero’s bedroom, only
to find the boy crouching down in front of a large box, putting his things
inside. A large suitcase was on the bed, wide open and full with clothes.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Yes.” Heero answered
quietly, putting a few books into the box. His back was facing Duo, who was
standing in the doorway.

wh-why? Where?”

“Johnson.” Heero
answered quietly, arranging his things inside the box.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“WHAT?!” Duo burst,
gaping at Heero. “You’re moving in with... with... with HIM?!”
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Yes.” Heero replied
silently, coming still and just staring down at the box.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“But... but why?!”style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“It’s for the best.”
Heero answered, closing the box. “I’m just getting in your way here.” He added
silently, getting up, holding the box in his hands.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

Duo watched him,
stunned, as he slowly walked out the bedroom’s door. “Heero!” He called after
him, whirling around to look at the boy.

Heero stopped in the
middle of the hallway, but didn’t turn to face Duo.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Are you two sleeping
together?”

“Yes.”style='font-size:10.0pt'>

Duo flinched at
Heero’s unexpected answer. He couldn’t bear the thought of someone else being
buried inside Heero’s warmth. He closed his eyes for a moment, takingeep eep
breath, preparing for the next question. Slowly, he looked up at Heero.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Do you love him?”style='foize:10.010.0pt'>

This time the boy
remained silent. He just stood there, holding the box, his back facing Duo and
his head bowed.

“Heero?”style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“It’s for the best,
Duo.” Heero suddenly whispered. “I can’t stay here anymore. I just... I just
can’t. It’s too much. It’s not good for either of us.”
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“But--“style='font-size:10.0pt'>

“Like you said, Duo,
we need to try new things. We need to move on. It can’t go on like this.”
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

Duo bowed his head
sadly. “But moving in with this guy...”

“You and Hitomi can
have my bedroom, I don’t mind.” Heero stated, and then continued walking out of
the hallway.

Duo opened his mouth
to reply, but it was too late. Looking up, he saw Heero walk out the door.
style='font-size:10.0pt'>

Duo sighed and dropped
his head down, shouldslumslumped.

“Heero...”style='font-size:1t'>
