Chapter 5
(To recap)
There was a particularly loud crash of thunder, sounding a bit closer and an accompanied scream from Rei.
“OH my gods! Rei!!” Max shouted.
Takao immediately took off as soon as he heard the scream and Max followed right after him. Hitoshi and Kai exchanged a glance then ran after the two younger teens, Hitoshi grabbing Kyouju and throwing him over his shoulders as he ran; quickly enough both Kai and Hitoshi over took Max and Takao passing them easily enough and arriving at the source of Rei’s scream sooner.
“Put him down!” Taka shouted, holding himself up, several wounds apparent across his body. He was shouting at a man-child floating above the ground, fire whipping around his feet, he was holding an unconscious Rei.
The assailant simply laughed. “To bad you\'re so weak in that form Emperor Takao!”
Taka winced and tried to remain standing, “He has nothing to do with our war, let him down!”
The assailant only laughed harder, “Rot in hell!”
Suddenly Kai, Hitoshi and the rest of the Bladebreakers ran onto the scene. They all stopped short at what they saw. Among them Kai was the first to speak. “What is going on here? Drop Rei!”
“Stay back!” Taka shouted at them. “You\'ll be killed!”
“Oh ho! Are these your new friends Takao?” The assailant shouted.
“Shut up Kai!” Taka shouted back at him
Kai blinked looking up at the new comer he did resemble himself when he was younger, although there was an air of arrogance around him. “What the hell is going on!?” He growled in annoyance. “Who are you both and how is it you are the same as Takao and I?”
Taka sighed in exasperation, “Would you guys just go? You\'ll only be killed here!”
Phoenix Kai laughed, “Trying to protect them? Fool! I\'ll kill you all!” He shouted and the flames began to swirl around his feet, and then rushed forward towards the others.
Taka ran towards them and summoned the wind to block the torrent of on coming fire. “I beg you Dragoon, aid me!” He shouted as it rushed forward and deflected the blaze.
Hitoshi looked at Taka in wonder, what was going on? Who was this boy that looked so much like his brother? And who was the boy currently trying to attack them that looked so much like his lover?
Not happy at all Kai ripped out his launcher and set Dranzer in it. “Dranzer attack!” He cried aiming his beyblade at the younger Kai.
“No! Stop!!” Taka tried to stop him but his warning came to late.
The beyblade flew into the frenzy of fire, and mixed hopelessly with younger Kai\'s, causing his flame to grow stronger and wider, “Thanks so much for the power boost!” He shouted.
Taka looked horrified as the grown flames rushed towards him. He covered his face knowing he would be consumed.
Max however figured pretty quickly what was happening and released his own beyblade Draciel, effectively putting out the flames before it killed them.
Takao shouted a whoop, “Good going Max!”
Max gave him a thumbs up but turned serious right after, “It\'s not over yet!”
“I couldn\'t agree more!” The younger Kai shouted. “I call upon the seals of life! Oh gracious Phoenix, lend me your strength!” He threw something at Taka that when it hit he fell instantly, not even a scream was released. “Disappear into nothingness!”
Taka glowed brightly, but then the light shattered and Taka was left unharmed.
“What? No! Why didn\'t that work!?” The younger Kai shouted in anger.
Taka stood up again, however this time he was his full age. “Because, you never counted on me finding my true love.” he said smiling, and then raised his hand shouting. “I sentence you to eternal sleep! Winds of the South, North, West, East!”
However before the incantation could be fully cast the younger Kai shouted, “I will not let you win!” Launching a new attack at him, which was quickly deflected, however it was no more than a distraction, and younger Kai flew away into the sky, where a portal was, still carrying Rei.
“No Rei!! You bastard!” Taka shouted and tried to fly after him, however his wounds stopped him and he fell to the ground again. “Damn you Kai!!” He shouted up at the fleeing assailant.
“Rei!!” Takao shouted as well, along with Max and Kyouju.
There was a flash as the portal closed taking younger Kai, and Rei with it. Everyone was left standing there in shocked silence the only sound heard was Taka’s ragged breathing as the man, no longer a child, banged his fists on the ground and growled in anger.
Breaking out of his trance Hitoshi ran over to Taka and placed a hand on the man’s shoulder. “Are you alright?” He asked softly. He wondered how he’d managed to age over fifteen years in an instant, that however could be dealt with after.
“No, that bastard...” Taka growled. “I have to save Rei before he figures out how to re-do his spell and leave me stranded here.”
“What the hell was that?!” Takao yelled at Taka, “And why the hell did he take Rei!?”
“To get back at me...That bastard!” Taka shouted, his glare rivalling even Kai\'s. “If it takes my last breath I will kill him!!”
Kai walked up then glaring at Taka. “What is going on? Who are you and what was that?” It was obvious Kai was pissed and he wasn’t prepared to take nonsense from anyone especially not Taka, who had already cause them so much trouble.
“That was what I was trying to keep from you.” Taka said, wincing as his wounds made themselves more prominent. “Ah...” He tried to stand again, succeeding to his full height, which reached beyond even Hitoshi. “Crap, that bugger did a number.” He said examining his wounds. “It\'s gonna take me at least an hour to heal all these wounds.”
“Taka...you\'re...I can see a bone...” Kyouju pointed out, palling incredibly.
Max\'s eyes grew wide and his face grew green. “Oh my god...” He ran off to throw up.
Both Hitoshi and Kai took this in stride both of them being seasoned warriors. “We’ll have to either call an ambulance or take care of them here.” Hitoshi said looking over the wounds. “They’re really bad, some of them bordering on deadly.”
Kai nodded in agreement. “Even if it wouldn’t be a great loss to anyone if he died . . .the only thing we need him for is to find out where the hell that clone of me took Rei.”
Taka shook his head, “No need, I\'ve been through worse.” He said and began chanting the winds gently blew and the wounds began to heal, though the minor ones remained. Taka sighed and took a stretch to test his body. He winced when he moved in a few directions, however over all it wasn\'t too bad. “Hm…I see, one day then…” He said to himself. He looked at Hitoshi and Kai. “I need to get to the tallest area in the location, one with a particularly large amount of wind.” He said dead serious.
“Why?” Takao asked.
Taka turned to him, “I will also need your help.” He told Takao.
“You didn’t exactly answer his question.” Hitoshi put in. “And the tallest area in this rejoin, hell in the whole country would be Mont Fuji, and what exactly is it you need my brother for?”
“A mountain?” Switching to ancient Japanese he said. “I see, then perhaps I should start sooner...”
“What?” Takao said, “Hitoshi, do understand what he\'s saying?”
Hitoshi shook his head. “No but I don’t like, I don’t like it at all.” He said giving Taka a withering look.
Taka smiled at Hitoshi, and continually speaking in ancient Japanese he said, “You are so much like him...my little brother...” He got a sad look on his face, then turned to Takao he eyes glowed casting the same spell on him that he did Kyouju, he said “To come of the air, now return.”
Instantly Takao disappeared, only in his place was a dark blue dragon. It roared looking at everyone and waiting patiently for Taka to get on. Turning to the others he said in plain Japanese, “I\'m sorry, I have to go. I will return your brother to you, however Rei belongs to me.” With that he took off into the air on Takao\'s new form.
Hitoshi cried out in denial running off in desperation, trying to catch Taka and his brother. “Takao! Taka you bring him back you bastard!” He cried angrily when he was unable to catch up to them. His shoulders shaking Hitoshi fell to his knees and attempted to keep himself from allowing his emotions to get the better of him.
Kai and the others ran over to Hitoshi and uncaring of what every though, Kai took the older man into his arms and began to comfort him. “We’ll get him back I promise. We’ll get them both back.”
Max ran over as well, “Why?! Why is this happening?!” He growled. “We have to get to mount Fuji!”
“But how?!” Kyouju asked. “We have no way of transporting ourselves, and even if we did, by the time we got it organised, they\'d be gone!”
“Perhaps I may be of insistence...?” A voice asked behind them.
And another chapter done! For anyone who is confused just ask and we’ll explain what’s happening. Pairings will come as the story develops. Don’t forget to review!
