An Unlikely Couple

Chapter 5

Roy just stood there, looking down at Ed as the younger alchemist kept glaring up at him. He really hadn't expected him to turn up, figuring that he'd still be at the hotel with Al, nose buried in his research.

"Well? Aren't you gonna let me in?" Ed grumbled, clearly in no mood to stand on Roy's front porch, being gawked at by the Colonel. He came here to relax, and, since he'd told Al that he didn't know when he'd be getting back, he figured he could just spend the night. After all, there had been times when he'd spent the night walking, trying to clear his mind.

Continuing to look a little dazed for a few more moments, Roy nodded and stepped aside, gesturing toward the inside of the house.

"Of course, Fullmetal," he replied, watching as Ed stomped inside.

This is going to be a 'pleasant' evening, Roy thought with a soft sigh as he followed the boy, shutting the door behind him.

"So, what brings you here, Fullmetal?" he asked, watching as Ed flopped down on the couch.

"I'm not any closer to finding the Stone, so I decided to come here to relax," Ed replied.

But what about my relaxation? Roy thought plaintively. He didn't know if he had the patience to deal with a moody Ed right now. The boy could be a pain at times...well, most of the time...but when he wasn't being a pain, Roy found it easy to just sit and relax with him. However, he knew he shouldn't like being around the boy as much as he did and he certainly knew he shouldn't enjoy sex with him as much as he did.

If anyone outside of my staff finds out, we'll both be in trouble, but I'd be in more trouble than him. Luckily, he knows to stay as quiet as possible when we have sex in the office.

When he snapped out of his thoughts, he saw Ed looking at him again.

"What's going on in that empty head of yours?" the boy asked, a smirk beginning to form.

"Hm? Nothing," Roy replied, causing Ed to start laughing.

"That's not surprising!" the boy exclaimed between chuckles. That is, until Roy bent down to silence him with a soft kiss. Roy had learned that that was a quick way to shut Ed up. He gave a mental smirk as the boy reached up to wrap his arms around his neck, returning the kiss eagerly.

When they parted to get some air, Ed looked up at him, an almost expectant look on his face.

"So now what?"

Roy was about to answer before his stomach quietly reminded him that he was about to fix himself something for dinner before Ed showed up.

"Have you eaten yet?" he asked and wasn't surprised when Ed shook his head in reply. Without Al, he'd probably get so absorbed in his research that he'd starve to death, Roy figured.

"Well, let's get some dinner, then," he began before a playful smirk began to play across his lips.

"Afterward, we can have some 'dessert'," he finished. Immediately understanding the implication, Ed nodded, a small smirk on his face.

"Sounds like a plan," he said before getting off the couch to follow Roy into the kitchen.

Looks like this will be a relaxing night, after all, he thought as he sat in the only other chair at the table.

A/N: No sex this time around; just some fluff until I can think of how to do the next sex scene. This chapter was a long time in coming because I was suddenly having a difficult time, mentally(and, no, I still don't know what happened. I think taking a break from watching the news helped, though), and lost any inspiration I had to write anything, but I'm back now, and in my Livejournal(I have a link to it in my profile), I have the first chapter to a Code Geass fic that I may or may not post here, depending on how bloody things get in it, but, for now, it's not nearly "adult" enough to be posted here. Depending on whether I can get up enough inspiration/courage(since it would only be my second Geass fic), I might try to write a really dirty smutfic for Geass to post here. ^^;
