IIIII::: Secrets :::
Two days later and Chi Chi was still pissed about Goku leaving, again. She yelled, "I don't care if he gets a whole planet! Why should you have to go? You don't need money, either! Besides, Vegeta hardly did anything worth a reward-"
"Chi Chi," Goku frowned. "He's barely even a 'good' guy. Recognition?! Inheritance?! My ass!" Maybe she was sore she didn't have more of an inheritance. "It's only for a little while-" "With Vegeta! Of all people! Why would you even want to go? He's such an jerk, especially to you! Damn it Goku, if there's one thing predictable about you it's your ability to find reasons to leave. Do you not want to be in this family?!" Even though Chi Chi saw that there was nothing suspicious in his behavior and, honestly, nothing out of the ordinary about something like this coming up, she still couldn't accept it. She'd thought that after all these years she could have more than a few moments of peace with her family. Goku pouted while she went on ranting about unfairness. He grabbed onto her shoulders, halting her process on dinner for the moment. "Chi Chi, please." She was still snarling, but remarked anyway, resolutely, "Fine- go, it's not like anything I've ever said has stopped you before. This better be one hell of an award." Goku smiled, he knew that wasn't exactly the best answer he could have received, but any type of permission is permission. He thanked her and left their home. She was still bad mouthing everything on his way out. Upon walking out the door he spotted his eldest son, lounging in a lawn chair. He had really let go of his training. He was even losing muscle mass. Goku thought it was such a shame that Gohan had stopped trying, but then again, he supposed Chi Chi deserved to have some pride in their child as well. He finally became a very accomplished young man after all those years of studying, never mind that he married rich, he is well enough off on his own. Chi Chi didn't have to worry any more (maybe that's why she was mad. Goku would never understand.) Gohan sensed him and looked over, smiling brightly. He waved his father over. Videl was in the middle of cooking dinner as well, with a little help from their young daughter. The women were too preoccupied inside to be bothered by their conversation. "So?" Gohan asked, "What's your plan?" Goku scratched the back of his head, "You know, Vegeta never really explained to me how all this was gonna work. I don't know if we're traveling by spaceship with Huntre or if we're supposed to travel on our own. I don't even know how long it will take to get there or what exactly we'll be doing." "Have you tried talking to Vegeta about it?" Gohan asked. "He's been... busy." Gohan nodded, but he noticed his father's more solemn attitude. He pried, "I'm sure he's got a lot to think about. He probably never expected this to happen." Goku asked, "What do you mean?" Gohan had hooked him. He answered, "Well, after all those years under Frieza, I don't think Vegeta ever thought twice about any security his parents might have set up for him. Besides, he claimed to be so evil I didn't think he did anything deserving of good reparation. Then again, technically Vegeta's pardon was only because of his hatred for the man who enslaved him and his reparation was owed to him by his namesake alone, not anything he actually did." Goku pondered on Gohan's words for a few minutes, not all too sure what to think, Gohan sounded like Chi Chi just then. His eldest continued, "Vegeta must have had some hell of a past." "Gohan, it's not like you to curse," Goku wondered, surprised. He could understand the language on the battlefield but in the middle of conversation? It was just strange to hear from his well-mannered son. "Must have got it from Piccolo, I have my own past, too, ya know," he smirked, not at all abashed. He was trying to bate his father into opening up to him. Goku thought for a few more seconds before blurting out, "You're right, I guess we don't talk very much. I haven't seen Piccolo in a while either." Well at least he's aware of it, Gohan thought, then asked, "Don't you and Vegeta talk?" Just as Goku was beginning to become nervous about the question, Gohan added, with a clever smile, "I thought you'd be used to hearing foul language." Goku smiled, but caught himself before he could say anything revealing. Gohan shook his head and boldly added, going back to the previous topic, "While you were away I would often go to Vegeta for advice about little things." Goku listened more acutely than he let on, "Things about school sometimes, sometimes about friends," Gohan hesitated to include, "Sometimes even things about you..." Gohan swallowed, "He listened but he never said much. Goten would spend the night with Trunks and I'd stay over, too, and if we were lucky Vegeta would tell us about a battle from his past. The kids used to think he was making it all up, but I believed every word. There was always so much detail and even though it seemed impossible to be true, I always thought that he was just wild enough to have been in such terrifying situations." Goku waited for more but Gohan seemed lost in thought. He replied, admittedly, "Vegeta only ever talks about the now, and if he mentions his past at all, it's always short and to the point." Gohan looked up at his father and nodded. He tried desperately to think of another segue way to keep him talking. After a deliberate attempt to change his attitude Goku smiled and said, "Well I've got to go see what all I need to take with me! I'll talk to you later, Gohan, bye." Gohan watched his father take off into the sky as he had so many times before and whispered into the wind, "Goodbye, Dad." ::: Ignorant or Genius ::: Two days before they were scheduled to leave Goku decided he had given Vegeta ample time to be alone. He ITed directly to him first thing in the morning, startling Vegeta out of his packing. A moment later the Prince calmed and brought Goku down for a kiss. Goku smiled and began with, "So..." "Huntre will be back tomorrow with a ship for us. It will take about three weeks to get to Nartal." "Only three weeks? That's great!" Vegeta nodded, "Their technology has greatly advanced since I was in the pirating business." Goku waited for Vegeta to say more but he knew he wouldn't. Although it was dangerous ground, Goku insisted, "Tell me more about your past, Vegeta..." The emotion that passed through Vegeta's eyes was unclear. It could be distress or annoyance, Goku couldn't quite tell. Vegeta said, without wasting much time, "Later." Bulma was quickly approaching. Upon her entrance she laughed, "Goku! Good timing! I have something I want to talk to you guys about." "What is it woman? I'm not done packing." was Vegeta's typical response. "Calm down, Vegeta, it will only take a few minutes. Follow me." They headed down the most direct route to her lab with ginger footsteps, since she was walking and talking hurriedly. Vegeta grumbled under his breath but trailed along after her. She usually didn't waste his time, deliberately anyways. Goku followed, happy to be involved with someone who wasn't screaming down his neck as though he'd planned this trip in advance, like a vacation or something. "Alright, Vegeta, I know you're gonna love this. I think I've found a solution to your missing tails." "What?!" He hurried to step side by side the genius woman. "Oh yeah. See, yours never grew back, and I was wondering why, so I looked into it a bit, with help from the boys of course." Vegeta wanted to interrupt her but knew better, he just let her explain herself and waited very impatiently. She went on, "I always found it strange that Gohan was born with a tail but Trunks wasn't. I also thought it was odd that Gohan's tail grew back even after being cut off much like yours had been, but yours never did." They stopped in front of a door. She entered a code and they were in. She walked up to the nearest table in the bleak, very light blue room while saying. "I decided to do some blood work to look into things. Finding a sample for you was easy, and same with the kids, but..." She picked up a sharp object and looked at Goku earnestly. Next thing you know Goku was running for the door, but Vegeta had tackled him to the ground before he could get very far. "I hate needles, Vegeta!" "You coward! You're an embarrassment to your people- to me!" "Vegeta, I can't!" "You're going to Kakarot! I could have stuck you with a needle on Namek if I really wanted to and I should have! It's about damn time you conquer that fear!" "No!" "Damn it Kakarot!" the two grown men wrestled on the ground. Eventually Vegeta got Kakarot into a full nelson and insisted that Bulma move fast. She followed his orders, nervous, but with a steady hand was able to draw blood from Goku's arm while his face went blue and he held his breath. The moment she withdrew the needle she ran to the other side of the room and Vegeta let Goku go. He whimpered on the ground, clearly upset. "Good job, Kakarot," Vegeta smirked, standing up, "It wasn't so bad, was it? I don't see why you're afraid of a little needle, anyways." Goku sniffled and refused to get off the floor or make any eye contact. Vegeta rolled his eyes and make strides over to Bulma, "I'm impressed woman, I hope your able to do something with the information you find. Keep me posted." "Sure will, wish I had more time though." Vegeta gave his wife a stirring look but continued to leave, picking Goku off the ground on his way. Goku pouted again and said as they headed back into Vegeta's quarters, "You knew she was going to do that." "I did not." Goku was unsure but let it go, it had passed anyways, but his arm still stung and his head was still dizzy. "Have you gotten your things together?" Vegeta asked nonchalantly. "Well," Goku thought about it. "Not really, I was just going to take a few sets of gi with me..." Vegeta gave him an amused look but didn't say anything. "Vegeta," Goku began, "You and Huntre know each other right?" "Why?" Vegeta never stopped what he was doing to look at him. "Because he said he's a headhunter... weren't you on the hunted list?" "Ha!" Vegeta laughed, "You think that he would have tried to capture me? Oh, he found me alright- found me far too much to handle. He couldn't bring me in so he let me go. We had an understanding. A mutual dislike for Frieza that few would have dared to voice at the time. He didn't want me behind bars, or as a mantle piece, especially after we exchanged words. He wanted me to do my bidding." "So he could have arrested you a long time ago?" "Could? No, he would have died trying and he knew it. I was on the list, let's put it that way, along with Frieza and Zarbon and all of his men." "Why did he come out here to tell you the news of your trial then if he had let you go?" Goku took a seat on the floor, content that Vegeta was explaining things to him for once instead of leaving him in the dark. Vegeta did stop then for just a minute and looked at Kakarot. He said, admittedly, "He's older than he looks. He's been in the business for years. I think that the fact that he couldn't capture me meant something to him. Like a trophy he would never have." Vegeta turned away but continued to explain, "It must have given him some pleasure to let me know that I am no longer on the wanted list, and therefore no longer a target to him." "Ooohh, that makes sense," Goku smiled, "Well, what about this guy on Nartal who took care of your case? Do you know him?" Vegeta wouldn't look Goku in the eyes as he answered, "Huntre never told me his name but I have a hunch of who it might be." Goku got the feeling Vegeta was a little more reluctant to talk about this subject so he brought up another one. "What about what Huntre said about people not liking our... relationship?" Goku quickly shot out the question. If he'd given it a second thought he wouldn't have asked it at all. Vegeta didn't seem too fazed by it though and replied, "It's just fuel to the fire, Kakarot. Something to rattle our cages with." He threw a few more articles of clothing into a case and closed it tight. He then walked over to Goku as he finished with, "They want to see our power. They want proof of what we're capable of, not knowing what they are asking for." Goku smirked, happy that there was no denial in it, he said in good humor, "You think a great deal about the Saiyans." "You're a cocky fighter yourself," Vegeta smirked back, "Do you fear any fight we may encounter?" "No, but I like the idea of a good challenge." "There will be no challenge for us on Nartal, Kakarot. I will be surprised if there is. Those galaxies' men wouldn't dare touch me years ago and I wasn't half the fighter I am now. You are a whole different story. They don't know anything about you, and they will try to find out as much as they can by any means." Goku couldn't help but laugh, "Well I'd be happy to answer any questions." "You dolt." Vegeta growled playfully as he knelt on the ground in front of him and leaned in close. "You'd do best to keep your mouth shut. In fact, I don't plan on wasting my breath explaining anything unnecessary to those fools." "Ahhh, I get it now. Even if the court ruling had agreed that you needed to be thrown in jail you would have refused?" Goku said, looking at Vegeta's lips as he advanced. "Of course," and with that Vegeta kissed Goku firmly on the mouth. Once they let up for air Goku moaned, "So what about the--" but Vegeta cut him off. I guess he's not in the mood to talk anymore, Goku thought, then moaned again as his tongue was sucked on, okay with this instead. Vegeta pushed him to the ground, their mouths making noises a child shouldn't hear and a teen tries desperately to familiarize with. Goku couldn't help but mention in between kisses, "Do you think we'll get our tails back." Vegeta practically purred, "I hope so," and then covered Goku's mouth with his own, reaching for the one thing he knew would stop Goku from talking; his dick. Goku shyly lifted his hips to gain more access to Vegeta, while the Prince pulled out each of their hardening members. "What do you want to do?" Vegeta asked. Goku blushed, but smoothly retorted, "What do you want me to do?" Vegeta smirked, "Well," he kissed him briefly, "Why don't you suck my dick for a little while, and then we can decide where we want to go from there?" Goku let out a breathy, nervous sigh and agreed. Very sensually he kissed Vegeta, moving him beneath him so he would be comfortably on top as he left a wet trail down his pectorals and abdomen and to his already rigid penis. He smiled abashed at Vegeta as he held it in his hand. Something about kissing up and down the shaft as he switched playing with it and Vegeta's balls gave him a sense of control. He looked into Vegeta's eyes as he took the tip into his mouth and swirled his tongue around it. He took in more of the length, having to gradually allow himself to relax and adjust in order to take it in deeper. Vegeta knew that even after all this time Kakarot has no idea how incredible he is. He's learned how to suck his dick down to an art form. He hums and moans when it's the deepest, widening his tongue and taking his time. The fact that he doesn't try to rush him to cum is a turn on enough, not to mention how sexy he is while doing it all. When he adds the fist pumping in time to his deep throating it's nearly unbearable. Vegeta throws his head back and moans Goku's name, his hand in his hair. He guides his pace, but never forces him deeper than he's willing to go. What's most amazing, Vegeta would say, is that every time it's different, and every time it's incredible. The longer Goku sucks his dick the more into it he gets. It's so strange to watch someone go from a shy lover to a porn star but Vegeta wouldn't have it any other way. The more Goku takes in of him the harder it is to stop, both of them turned on to the brink of explosion. Usually Vegeta would pull out and insist they fuck, but this time he allows Goku to pump his own cock in time to his actions, wanting him to cum when he does. A few minutes and some cursing later Vegeta warns Kakarot that he's about to finish. A moment later Goku's eyes roll into the back of his head and the Prince feels his throat closing up just as he releases, only adding to his own sensation. Goku stiffens and swallows it all. He comes off of Vegeta's cock to breath, but goes back to kiss it tenderly. Vegeta smirks at him and sits up, pulling Goku up to meet him. They kiss much more tenderly than one would think they could, and he says, 'We have some unfinished business." "What?" Goku wonders, years more relaxed than earlier. "Our plans from the other day..." Goku kisses him again and smiles, "Okay."::: Elements :::
Raditz knew his father didn't agree with his decision. Bardock hardly said a word to him about his formal invitation to move into the palace. In fact, he hardly said a word to him at all. The silence bothered Raditz, though. As a child, Bardock's best friend Tora had allowed him to rear Raditz in his home, while Bardock kept up his own house elsewhere. Raditz never knew why. His father was constantly in battle, ever since he was a baby, but he still made time for him, they spent time together at least twice a month, more if time between missions would allow it. They were pals once, but Bardock seemed more distant as of late. "Father?" Raditz meekly spoke up. Bardock didn't respond, but the young man knew he'd heard him. He watched his father continue to prep the meat for their dinner tonight, taking a break only to take a swig of beer and alternately take a bite of some of the already prepped foods. "Dad, I-" "Remember what I told you?" Bardock interrupted him, his attitude the same as ever; stoic and concise. "Yes, sir. 'When I enter the house of the Monarch Vegeta I am to learn all that I can and keep myself a mystery. Don't talk about the past in order to grow stronger in the future. Don't mention my father or former friends, in hopes of gaining a new mentor and new alliances. Carry myself with pride but listen and be mindful.'" Bardock turned around and smirked at his son. "Very good," he praised and turned back around. "Father," Raditz tried again, "Tora told me that you had once been invited to the palace. Why didn't you go?" Bardock grew indignant upon hearing that but answered, "Why should I have? What could they possibly want with me? I don't have time for their extravagant dinner parties just to ask me to do something I have no wish to do." "You act as though you are not in favor of the King but I know you are!" Bardock took the time to face his child once more, taking a few more gulps of beer, "Raditz, leave my business to me. I have always taught you not to be nosy, isn't that right?" "Of course, but-" "You have good reason for going," he turned back around to continue his work. "I'm sure they will appreciate your enthusiasm and loyalty. Just... be careful." Raditz could get no more out of his father on the topic that night. He is to leave the morning after tomorrow, while Bardock is scheduled for a mission tomorrow night. He couldn't help but think that he may never see him again. He had so many questions and concerns. Who's to say what the royals will wish of him? Whether he'll ever get a chance to leave the palace on his own free will or not? Whether he'll be happy helping out around the young Prince? Whether he'll even have a shot at the General's army? Whether he's making the right decision? Bardock was never one to tell him what to do, just point him in the right direction and punish him if he made a severely bad decision, especially one that he was advised against. His father never told him not to go or that he shouldn't go, only that it would change his life forever and the he hoped he was prepared for that. There came a knock at the front door which was a room away, then it was promptly opened. Bardock never even turned around while he yelled, "In the kitchen!" "Mmmm, smells good, Bardock! I swear you're the best cook!" came the voice as he walked through the first room towards them. "Tora!" Raditz jumped out of his seat to run to the handsome, towering man as he came through the doorway. Tora smiled and patted Raditz on the head, "My gosh I think you get taller by the second, give it a year and you're gonna be taller than me." Bardock turned around, grinning, "Hell, he's gonna be taller than me and I'm his father! No one's taller than you, Tora," he joked. "General Nappa, maybe," Tora winked at Raditz, "I can't believe you're leaving us, I'm gonna miss you, brat." He sniffed the air again, "and I'm sure you're gonna miss your dad's cooking, even if you don't miss his company." "Hilarious," Bardock wiped his hands off on a towel and turned around, smiling at his friend. He grabbed a beer out of a cooler and tossed it to Tora. "Raditz and I were just talking about his bright future." Tora gave Raditz a look, "Him, in a chatty mood?" he pointed at Bardock, "better take advantage of it while you can!" Raditz grinned but no response was necessary. He knew Tora was trying to ease the fears of his going and he was willing to try to let it work. Bardock snorted in amusement and said, ignoring the comment, "Why don't you have a seat, Tora, the food will be ready soon. Raditz go and fetch us some of the good liquor?" he suggested.
Raditz knew it wasn't an option and so he left swiftly.
Tora sat for a few moments drinking his beer and watching Bardock. With a resolute mind he got up and approached his long-time friend, saying, "I know you're upset..." "Don't start," Bardock practically whispered. "Aren't you gonna tell him? Doesn't he deserve to know?" Bardock looked him square in the eyes, "There's nothing to tell." "You're in love with King Vegeta!" "No, I'm not! How many times have we gone over this?" "Come on..." Tora shook his head. "The whole thing may have been coincidence, but obviously our King feels something for you." Tora waited for Bardock's response, but upon noticing there wouldn't be one he went on to say, "You always had a crush on King Vegeta, and then, by chance, you were stranded--" "I don't need a recap, Tora." "-- Out in the middle of Kodofras--" "Konocross." "Around the same time King Vegeta's mission went wrong--" "Tora," Bardock growled. "Alone and beaten up after taking over the planet single-handedly, he would have died if your ship hadn't malfunction and made it's own stop. You saved his life! Who knows what the two of you did all alone out there while the search crew went out for you. Stranded like that for a month... and then you just vanished on him-- " "TORA!!" Tora laughed and went on to say, "It's a shame you can't allow yourself a little happiness. I remember when Raditz was born, you're acting just as skittish as you were then," he finished off his own beer.
Bardock gave him a queer look before going to the cooler to get him another one. He opened up to his friend with, 'You know why I'm upset."
"Yes, but--" "They're taking him away, anyways," Bardock looked distraught, a distress he would fight off for many years to come. "I was one of the lucky parents who had a child before Frieza came in and decided third class males were to be sent off immediately after birth. It serves me right that he would take an eager interest in the hierarchy, and that they would accept him." "I understand," Tora nodded, "I hate to see him leave, but he has such a promising future. Many father's could only hope for such an opportunity." He tried to convince his friend. Bardock took another sip out of his beer and replied, 'I have no doubt that Raditz will be happy, that's all that matters." "He should at least know why he can't mention your name to them," Tora tried to convince him. "No, it's not worth the trouble. He needs to have the focus on him, not on his relatives. Besides, he's a second class with a chance to go to first." "Hohohoh," Tora laughed, "You may have been born third class alright but you are not a third-class fighter, or citizen, and people are starting to notice." Bardock raised a brow at him, "Like I care." Raditz then walked into the room, carrying a bottle in each hand, one under each arm and one with his tail. He explained, "I wasn't sure what you were in the mood for so I brought a lot of options." Bardock turned back to the food he was about to cook to hide his fatherly smile and thanked his son. He hated that he would never see him again and silently hoped he would never have another child so he would never have to go through the throes of parenthood again, especially considering the overseeing eye of Frieza. The idea of Raditz leaving broke his heart, but he could never tell anyone that. --- By the time Raditz realized tears were streaming down his face it was too late. The memories seemed like yesterday and the facts just hurt so much. He'd lost track of everything else as he stood staring into space. He found himself kneeling on the ground by the large window, one hand on the pane, trying to reach out into the vast darkness. maybe he would find something out there. Why did he have to survive? It would have been more acceptable to never see his father again if he knew he was still alive. At least back on Planet Vegeta he heard regular accounts of the "Third Class warrior called Bardock." He loved hearing all the men in the castle rumor about him, never knowing that Raditz was his firstborn son. He finally saw what his father did for him and realized too late what he and Tora really meant to him. He wished he could talk to his strong-willed father just one more time. It's been so many years since he left the homey comfort of Tora's home and his father's down-to-Vegeta company. It was just too hard to accept his death. He never stopped wondering why he had survived and, more over, why Kakarot lived as well. He was very grateful to Tora for keeping in contact with him, sending him word the moment that his little brother was born and informing him of his very first mission. It's a miracle he got off of Planet Vegeta before it's destruction. "What are you thinking about?" "Huh?" Raditz hummed, startled out of his thoughts, by a young voice that sounded less edgy tonight than any other. "Oh, nothing," he lied to his own reflection, his breath had calmed down and the crying had stopped but his cheeks were still wet. Prince Vegeta reached out timidly and touched the side of Raditz's face, feeling the softness of his skin beneath the cool tears. "Why were you crying?" The cold look in the young Saiyan's eyes almost gave the impression he was incapable of the expression and had no comprehension of it. Raditz didn't have the heart to answer him. He'd lost everything, too. What type of a role model would he be if he said he was feeling sorry for himself? He shook his head and turned to him, smirking, "I'm just sleepy." Vegeta didn't believe him. He sat down on the ground next to him and remarked, "Something must be wrong. I've never seen you cry." Raditz's eyes widened, unsure how to respond. He finally confessed, "I'm alright. I'm just grieving." "Why?" Raditz paused at that. He hadn't asked "about what" he asked "why." He thought for a moment. The Prince offered him this advice: "Why grieve? It won't change anything. Be strong. The only thing to do now is to better ourselves and our situation." Raditz's blood ran cold. How could a young boy of nine years old think in such a way? Still, he was right. The Commander nodded his head and wrapped two arms around Vegeta, bringing him in and holding him close. He whispered, "You truly are royalty, your highness. A promising future lies ahead of you, yet. Don't give up." Vegeta was uncomfortable for a moment, but after a second he closed his eyes, rested his head on Raditz's shoulder, and held on tight, answering with, "I don't intend to."
