Note: \"Blue bear\" is Heero\'s nickname given to him by Damion because when he was adopted his first gift from Heero was a blue bear.
Heero entered Duo\'s room slowly. He could hear the heart monitors beeping.
Damion\'s name escaped Heero\'s lips as he saw the said boy lying on the hospital bed.
\"How could I have missed the details of you?\" Heero whispered as he got close. \'Because you didn\'t want to see, you didn\'t want you admit you love\' his conscience said. \"Ah, and what a fool I was ne?\" Heero said as he sat down slowly beside Duo\'s bed.
The blue bear still held tightly in Heero\'s hand.
\"I will never leave your side again Damion. I lost you once, I won\'t lose you again\" Heero said, taking a hold of Duo\'s small thin hand just as Duo opened his eyes and smiled at Heero\'s words.
\"Ne Heero, is that a promise?\" Duo croaked out, tears forming at Heero\'s eyes.
\"Hai\" Heero said still shocked that Damion has been awake the whole time. \"How are you feeling?\" Heero asked.
\"I don\'t know Heero, I don\'t\' know whether I should be happy I survived twice or that I got a piece of my memory back\" Duo said with a smile.
\"I am just glad that I got my childhood friend back,\" Heero said softly. \"I could finally put a closure to Damion and myself. I use to blame myself for the longest time for not being strong enough to save you back then Damion,\" Heero confessed, squeezing Duo\'s hand a bit, \"But now, you are here, really here and alive, it seems like a dream I wanted so bad to never end\" Heero said.
\"Aww...stop crying and give Heero back to me\" Duo said pointing at the blue bear in Heero\'s hands.
Heero looked at Duo in shock \"You named the bear after me?\" Heero asked.
Duo looked at Heero sheepishly. \"Well I didn\'t know what to name it so I named it after the person who gave it to me. I had that name for him for years before I met you in school. That was why I was fascinated with you when you came to school. You have the same name as my blue bear\" Duo confessed tiredly.
Heero smiled. \"You\'re just like the Damion I know and lo-\" Heero stopped before he said those words. \'I love Damion\' Heero realized. It was no wonder why he rejected everyone who asked him out when he grew up. He would always compare them to how amazing Damion was. And surprisingly, still is, but Heero didn\'t know if Damion feels the same with him.
Just as Heero was about to apologize for his mistake. Duo said something that made Heero\'s mind do a flat line.
\"I love you too Heero, for some time now, probably before I remembered who you are and beyond that\" Duo said softly giving Heero\'s hand a reassuring squeeze. Heero smiled and stood up.
\"You need to rest up Duo...I mean Damion...what do you want me to call you?\" Heero stumbled.
\"Duo would be fine ne? Goes will with your name. Once one and lonely, become two and happy ne?\" Duo said.
\"Hai\" Heero said.
\"Your stuck with me now for a long time Heero, I hope you know what you are getting yourself into\" Duo said as Heero tucked him in, putting the small blue bear beside Duo\'s head.
\"I think I have been ready for a long time Duo, way too long,\" Heero said giving Duo a kiss on the lips, allowing the tingly feeling to sink in. Heero gave Duo a grin. \"Yes, I think I would enjoy how fate brought us back together again\" Heero said. \"Good-night Duo. I will see you in the morning.\"
With that, Heero left the room, promising more then he had to say.
