The Fight to be Free

Rei - 2 votes for a boy, 1 vote for a girl
Tala - 1 vote for a girl, 1 vote for a boy and 1 vote for twins
Max - 1 vote for a boy, 2 votes for a girl
Oliver - 2 votes for a girl.

Chapter Six - Early Morning Talks

Rei sighed as he snuggled back further into Kai’s warm body.
When they’d gotten back from the lab he hadn’t had the chance to take a nap like he’d wanted, so when he had gone to bed that night he’d come to the firm decision that he would sleep in as late as he could.
However earlier that morning a crawling sensation had started up in his lower abdomen and he’d only just gotten back to sleep but now something else was pulling him from the dream world he longed for.
Giving up with a sigh he opened his eyes only to find himself staring into ice blue eyes who were staring back at him unblinking.
Blinking twice he scrunched his brow.

“Tala what’re you doing in here?” Rei whispered trying not to wake Kai.

He instinctually knew it was still early in the morning probably around daybreak.

“My abdomen feels funny and I can’t sleep cause of it,” Tala whined softly.
“I’m up,” Rei grumbled as he slowly extricated himself from his warm cocoon and crawled out of bed.

He followed Tala down into the kitchen where they found Oliver already sitting a hot pot of tea in the center of the table.

“You too huh?” Tala asked and received a simple nod from the Frenchman.

Rei sat down and poured himself a cup of tea, Tala following suit.

“I’m afraid it’ll continue for, like I said, about two weeks. However I didn’t think it would affect us so quickly,” Rei said softly, taking a sip of his tea before continuing, “This isn’t what Judy said would happen so I’m just wondering what else will change.”
“It could be that we all wanted this to happen, for ourselves to be able to fall pregnant, so our bodies didn’t even fight it,” a voice said from behind him.

Rei turned and smiled at Max.

“You could be right,” Rei replied as he poured a cup of tea for Max.

Max took the cup offered to him as he sat down. Taking a sip he sighed in comfort as he swallowed the warm liquid.

“By the way what are we going to do about the clinic?” Max asked as he looked at his friend.
“Well I guess right now we could continue running it but I don’t think Kai would approve or we could always keep it open and just hire two replacements,” Rei sighed, “I don’t want to think about it right now. It gives me a headache.”
“We’re going to have deal with it sometime,” Max said, “I think right now, until we know for sure what we want to do, that we should hire replacements. It would give us some time to think about it. We’re due for a holiday and Emily would watch over the clinic for us.”
“Sounds like a plan,” Rei said stretching before cringing and hunching over, “I recommend not doing that.”

The three other occupants of the table laughed softly.

“We’re not going to be able to sleep properly for the next two weeks,” Tala said sighing and pouring himself another cup of tea.

The tea seemed to be helping but only a little.

“I think massaging the lower abdomen muscles may soothe it. As well as heat, it might be best if we invested in some heat packs and hot water bottles,” Max said biting his bottom lip.

Tala got up from his seat and plopped down in Rei’s lap making the neko-jin yelp.

“Massage my stomach,” Tala ordered.

Rei rolled his eyes and shook his head but reached round and started massaging the red-head’s lower stomach.

Tala let out an pleasured sigh, “Massage works.”
“I’m glad,” Rei chuckled.

The four sat in silence until the sound of someone walking down the hall towards them broke them out of their individual thoughts.
Soon Kai emerged from the mouth of the hallway, stretching and yawning only to pause and look, then glare at the red-head currently seated in the lap of HIS kitten.

“Rei’s giving me a massage so don’t get your boxers in a knot,” Tala said shaking his head at the bluenette’s obvious dislike of their current position.
“Well massage time is over,” Kai said then nodded towards Tala’s recently vacated chair, “Shift.”
“Fine,” Tala said grumbling as he stood up, “He’ll only be doing it later on anyway.”
“Later then,” Kai said as he pulled Rei up and sat in Rei’s chair, much to the neko-jin’s amusement, before pulling his kitten into his lap, “But right now he’s mine.”

Tala smiled. He’d always known that his best friend had been possessive when it came to friends and some personal items but he’d never been that way with the lover’s he’d had in the past.
Rei had Kai wrapped around his little finger yet the neko-jin had not abused that position and even though he’d only known Rei for a day he didn’t think Rei would ever abuse it, except for maybe little things, like the black velvet choker with the white tiger pendant hanging from its center. He, Rei, Max and Oliver had agreed that it would suit Rei and that it would be the perfect way for Kai to show his dominance over the neko-jin which is apparently one of Rei’s village customs.

“So what are you four doing awake at this hour anyway?” Kai asked eyeing them one by one, before his eyes settled on the neko-jin in his lap.
“The injection started to take affect and we can’t sleep cause of it,” Rei told his Russian lover before snuggling into Kai’s body and yawning.
“I think you should go back and try to get some sleep,” Kai said softly to Max, Oliver and Tala who all looked like they were ready to fall asleep at any moment.
“Can’t,” Tala yawned, “The crawling and twisting is so irritating and every now and then a sharp pain pierces through my abdomen.”
“Look I’ll go wake up Tyson, Enrique, Robert and Bryan. I’ll tell Enrique, Robert and Bryan you guys ate something that didn’t agree with you. I’m sure they’ll be more than happy to make you feel better,” Kai said as he nudged Rei who stood up with a huff.
“I was just getting comfortable,” Rei grumbled.
“Thanks Kai,” Oliver whispered as he rubbed his stomach.

Kai got up and disappeared down the hall.
Rei’s sensitive ears picked up knocks, mumblings and voices. Soon Kai reemerged a smile on his face.
Tyson, Enrique, Robert and Bryan eventually emerged from the hall, all in various states of awareness.

“What’s wrong?” Robert asked as he looked at the four teens at the table.
Bryan who let out a huge yawn eyed his red-headed lover before saying, “Kai said something about upset stomachs.”
“We all have it,” Tala sighed then continued in a whine, “Our abdomens feel all crawly and achy inside.”
“Massaging their abdomens seems to help,” Kai said to the others as he walked over to Rei and pulled the neko-jin back out of his chair and off towards the bedroom.
“Thanks for waking us Kai,” Enrique called after the bluenette.

Walking over to Oliver he crouched down in front of his green haired lover and placed his hands on Oliver’s thighs to steady himself.

“Why didn’t you wake me?” Enrique asked softly.
“Enrique’s right,” Robert said to the three remaining men at the table, “Why didn’t you wake us?”
“I don’t know about the others but I didn’t want to disturb Tyson,” Max said staring into his cup.

Oliver and Tala nodded their agreement at the statement.
Tyson shook his and went over to Max. Kai had told him the real reason why Max was up. Offering his hand to the blonde, who took it, he pulled him up.

“Come on, back to bed,” Tyson said softly, “Let’s see if we can’t make you feel better while we’re at it.”

Max gave Tyson a soft smile before following him down the hallway to the room they now officially shared.
Robert, Bryan and Tala as well as Enrique and Oliver soon followed the others to bed. Rei listened until he couldn’t hear anything anymore before he succumbed to sleep. The warm hand massaging his lower abdomen more than helping to ease the crawling and twisting feeling.
With a soft sigh he finally drifted off to sleep.
