My Sacrifice

YuukiSan: Another lovely update for all of you. Oh just to warn you Kai is VERY OOC in this Chapter. But he\'s like that for a reason. Everything gets explained later don\'t worry.

NinjaMoouse: Just to warn you this Chapter is pure sap!

YuukiSan: It is not! There are some funny bits thrown in. Oh by the way Dizzi makes her debut in this Chapter...if you don\'t like Dizzi in stories because she\'s not technically real...tough. I think Dizzi kicks major ass so she\'s in the story. On that note enjoy!

Chapter 6

As Rei sat back down at the table he could feel three pairs of questioning eyes on him. Luckily, no one asked what had taken so long, mainly because Mrs. Mizuhara spoke before any one less could.

“I’ve rented a movie for us to watch after dinner. So when you boys are finished why don’t you go get changed, and we’ll meet in the living room.”

“Sweet!” Max exclaimed as he jumped from the table and ran up the stairs.

Rei walked up stairs and once in the bedroom he changed into a blue t-shirt, blue cotton pants and his black slippers. He let his hair out of its bindings and braided it, some pieces falling around his face.

Afterwards, he walked downstairs and flopped onto the living room couch, lying on his stomach, he was suddenly feeling the effects of jet lag.

“Hey Kon, move,” Tyson said standing in front of the half asleep neko-jin.

“No.”

“C’mon don’t hog the whole couch.”

Rei glared at Tyson, who backed down, muttering to himself about “the tired pissy cat.”

He closed his eyes and listened to his friend complain about the lack of comfortable places to sit. Soon a familiar scent wafted towards the neko-jin and he opened his eyes to find Kai sitting on the floor, leaning against the couch at the tiger’s shoulder. He felt his feet being lifted up and looked over his shoulder to see his mother sitting on the couch placing his feet on her lap.

Soon Max and Mrs. Mizuhara entered the room. Tyson’s eyes lit up as he saw the large bowl of popcorn that the blond male was carrying. The youth sat down on the love seat and was soon protecting the bowl from a certain blue haired blader who had moved unto the love seat as well.

Mrs. Mizuhara started the movie then turned off the lights. Rei could immediately feel his eye lids start to droop. He dropped his arm over the side of the couch since it was starting to loose feeling. After a few seconds the tiger felt Kai start to play with his fingers. Then he felt long fingers intertwine with his own. As sleep finally over took him, the cat-boy felt Kai place his arm over his left shoulder.

Kai looked over his shoulder once he heard the shallow breathing and saw that the Chinese was fast asleep. He wondered how long it would take for the thunder to break out.

Surely, after about five minutes, “what’s that noise?” Dizzi asked.

“I think Tyson fell asleep,” Kenny answered his laptop, who was sitting on the floor.

“No I didn’t!” Tyson screamed.

“Ok, so who’s making that noise then?” Dizzi asked again.

“It’s Rei,” Kiyoshi and Kai answered in unison.

They looked at each other and smiled. Kiyoshi noticed that not only was Rei’s arm around Kai’s neck but that they were holding hands as well. She raised her eyebrows at him.

The blader blushed lightly and mouthed “thank you,” to the female neko-jin who just smiled.

“That’s Rei!? Bullshit!” Tyson yelled reaching for the lamp beside him.

Kai just managed to untangle his fingers from the tigers as the light filled the room.

“Oh Gods,” Max said as he took in the sight before him.

“I wanna see!” exclaimed Dizzi.

Kenny sighed and turned the computer so that her camera was pointing at the sleeping figure. Dizzi burst out laughing.

“Hey Kai, move a bit towards Kiyoshi,” Max said picking up a single piece of popcorn.

The Russian hesitated then finally complied, wondering what the blond was planning to do with the kernel.

Max leaned towards Tyson slightly then threw the popcorn, aiming for Rei’s open mouth. Since the tiger was now on his side, the kernel hit his nose. The neko-jin took his arm off of Kai’s shoulder and rubbed his nose in his sleep. The American picked up another piece and tried again, this time hitting one of the cat-boys fangs.

“Dang fangs! They use to creep me out, now they’re just annoying!” Max said after another kernel hit the fangs as well.

Rei rolled over onto his back; Max’s blue eyes grew wide.

“Perfect,” he said tossing another piece.

It landed on the corner of Rei’s mouth. Kai turned and poked the popcorn with his finger, which caused it to fall onto the couch.

The Russian shrugged as Tyson exclaimed, “almost!”

“You need to get more height Max!” Dizzi told him.

“Don’t encourage them!” Kenny screamed at the machine on his lap.

“Leave Rei alone, he’s trying to sleep,” said Mrs. Mizuhara in between giggles, from her position on the recliner chair.

“Not anymore!” Tyson laughed as a kernel soared straight into the tiger’s open mouth, causing him to sit up and cough.

Rei blinked lazily, dazed from having been just woken up, while coughing. He wondered what was blocking his windpipe until it un-lodged itself and he bit down on something crunchy. The tiger looked on the floor to find popcorn scattered around right where his head had been. He looked over his shoulder at the love seat to find both Tyson and Max trying hard not to laugh, and failing.

The Chinese cuddled up to his mother burying his face in her shoulder, “they’re picking on me Mommy,” he pouted.

“Aw, it’s ok Kitten,” Kiyoshi said wrapping her arms around her half asleep son and turning away so that he couldn’t see her chuckling at him.

“I can hear you Mama,” Rei said sounding very un-amused.

“Mommy!” Tyson screamed completely loosing it.

This earned him a glare from the cat-boy.

“C’mon guys. We don’t want to piss off our wittle kitty,” Dizzi cooed, causing Kiyoshi to burst out laughing.

“That’s it! I’m cutting you off!” the neko-jin told his mother curling into a little ball at the other end of the couch.

This just made the purple-haired female laugh even harder.

After the laughter died down, Mrs. Mizuhara un-paused the movie, and Tyson turned the lamp off again. Rei’s knees were starting to cramp so he extended his legs placing his feet back on his mother’s lap.

“I thought I was cut off,” she said with a laugh.

“I’m comfortable,” Rei replied still pouting.

Kai then reclaimed his previous spot and placed the tiger’s arm back over his left shoulder.

Kiyoshi looked down at the feet on her lap and smiled wickedly.

Rei started squirming as he felt his mother tickle the bottom of his feet. He threw a glare in her direction, but she just smiled at him. That was when the tiger noticed that he had squirmed closer to the edge of the couch…and Kai.

The phoenix moved closer and tilted his head until his right temple was leaning against Rei’s forehead. The Chinese closed his eyes and started to rub his head against the others with a smile. He stopped when Kai turned and placed a gentle kiss on the neko-jin’s lips. Rei ran his fingers through the duel-coloured haired and open his mouth as an invitation for the larger males tongue, which the Russian gladly accepted, playing with one of the wisps of midnight hair.

The former captain broke the kiss once oxygen was absolutly necessary, resting his forehead against the smaller males and whispered, “any room for one more person up there?”

Without a word Rei sat up and Kai pulled himself onto the couch. The phoenix wrapped his arms around the neko-jin and pulled him against his side. The tiger smiled as he cuddled into the taller male’s chest inhaling his distinct scent. The two males stayed cuddled for the rest of the movie, sharing gentle kisses every now and then.

“Kai, can I talk to you a minute please?” Kiyoshi asked after the movie was over.

The Russian nodded knowing what the conversation was going to be about. He looked over his shoulder at the confused looking cat-boy.

“I’ll meet you upstairs”, he said with a smile as he squeezed the tiger’s tanned hand.

Rei nodded then headed up the stairs.

The phoenix and the female neko-jin waited until the living room was empty, then he turned to face her.

“Thank you,” he said again.

“I take it you talked to him then?” Kiyoshi asked taking hold of Kai’s hands.

“Ah, yeah,” the blader responded remembering his ‘talks’ with Rei earlier in the day.

“See what did I tell you. Now I think there is someone upstairs waiting for you. And if you ever need someone to talk to, I’m right here,” she said reaching up and cupping the side of his face.

The phoenix nodded to show he understood, then turned and walked up the stairs, finally knowing what a mother’s love felt like.

Rei is so cute when he\'s half asleep though, yeah that\'s the only reason he did some of those things...like the whole \"Mommy\" thing...just because he\'s uber tired.
