Chapter 6.
Ray felt sick just sitting in his Professors car as they drove down the road to his house. The motion of the vehicle along with the street lamps that went whizzing by only increased his sickness. His ribs were aching horribly, his head was throbbing, his mouth tasted of semen and his face was bruised and bloody.
He glanced over toward Kai, but his Professor was engrossed in his driving that he didn’t notice. He sniffed hard, the dried blood in his nose making him queasier as they turned off the highway and onto a deserted stretch of road surrounded by trees and fields. The drive felt like forever to Ray, and was practically praising the Gods themselves when Kai pulled his SUV into his parking stall and got out.
Ray, dizzied and feeling slightly disoriented, reached for the doorhandle, but missed. He tried again, gripped it... and the door swung open. He gasped, falling out onto cool gravel. Arms were wrapped under his armpits, holding up his head from hitting the ground. He looked up, slightly green faced, at Kai’s worried expression.
“Hi,” he said stupidly.
“I certainly hope that’s the concussion talking,” Kai muttered.
Ray grinned sheepishly and tired to stand, but his legs were wobbly and weak, and only stumbled farther into his Professor. With an agitated sigh, he dropped his forehead heavily onto Kai’s shoulder, breathing heavily. He felt like hell was burning around him and badly wanted to lie down in his bed and sleep forever.
“Hey – open your eye,” Kai said loudly.
“Huh – wha’?” Ray groaned.
Kai sighed ad heaved Ray into his arms, lifting the limp body delicately as he climbed the stairs to his front door, multi-tasked for his key and opened the door with Ray in his arms the entire time. He spit his key – which were dangling from his mouth – onto the kitchen counter and kicked the door shut behind him, making his way to the front room.
Gently, and with as much care as he could, Kai placed Ray onto the long leather sofa and walked back to the landing, pulling off his coat and shoes. He ran a hand through his mangled hair and entered the kitchen, keeping one eye on the dazed neko-jin while placing a pot of water onto one of the four burners of his stove.
“Kon, keep those eye open,” Kai snapped, watching as Ray’s golden orbs began to flutter.
“Yea... yea, okay,” Ray mumbled.
Kai left the kitchen and went for the bathroom, rummaging around for his spare first aid kit and walking back into the living room with it. Ray had sat himself up, propped against a pillow behind his head, clutching his ribs and hissing with pain. Kai knelt before him, lifting his shirt to exam the area.
“Hey – what are you going?” Ray gasped, blushing hard.
“I need to see if it’s broken,” Kai said without looking up.
Ray blushed, and with a nod, released his shirt to allow Kai to slip it off. Ray looked down at his exposed chest as he watched his Professors eyes widen and then narrow. He gasped at his own skins appearance, suddenly feeling weak and fragile. His skin was torn, scraped, ripped and bleeding in many places. His ribs were bruised a purple-black colour and were bloodied badly.
The scars ran up his torso and onto his shoulders; one long, massive slice to his skin going from below his shirt line up to the arch of his jaw bone. He whimpered when Kai pressed a hand to his ribs, the bone rippling under his fingers. He watched as his Professor gave un unsatisfactory shake of his head and then went scrambling through the first aid kit beside him.
“Umm... Professor?” Ray said timidly.
“Hm...”
“Who... who were those guys?” Ray asked softly, covering himself up with his arms as best he could while hiding a pink blush.
“Honestly, I’m not sure,” Kai said, pulling out a bottle of ointment and a large pack of cotton swabs. “They weren’t students, that’s for sure.”
“No, they weren’t the type,” Ray whispered.
“You going to be okay?” Kai asked, dabbing a cotton swab into the bottle of ointment.
“I – I think so,” Ray said.
Kai nodded, placing the bottle onto the coffee table behind him – along with the bag of swabs – and turned back to Ray. He pressed the cotton ball to one of the large scratches, making Ray hiss and pull away. The area was burning badly now and blood was seeping faster than before. Kai reached out and grabbed Ray’s wrist, holding him in place as he applied more pressure to the wounds.
It hurt far worse than he thought it would, but it was over quickly. Kai had cleaned and bandaged most of his wounds and was now working reverently on the large gash situated across the length of Ray’s neck. He pulled out a thick bandage and flattened across the long wound, the gauze that had been placed on the inner-side of the thick padding leaving Ray with a cool, tingly feeling that felt rather good.
“Any place else that needs care?” Kai asked, tossing away his thirty-second cotton swab that was mounted with black splotches of blood.
“Umm–” Ray blushed.
Kai gave him an amused look.
“How’s your mouth?”
“What...?”
“I saw what happened,” Kai said quietly. “He forced himself against you. Do you need to brush your teeth to get ride of the taste?”
“Yes please,” Ray whispered.
“I have an extra toothbrush in the bathroom in the right hand drawer,” Kai said, standing up when he heard the kettle whistling. “When your done I’ll have cup of tea for you waiting in the kitchen.”
Ray nodded and stood, his legs still wobbly and weak. He knew he had more bruises and cuts on his legs, but he wasn’t really feeling up to snuff about stripping in front of his Professor. He walked away toward the bathroom, hearing Kai busy with the kettle and the clatter of two mugs being pulled from a high cupboard.
After fifteen minutes of vigorous brushing in whish Ray had almost made his gums bleed twice, he had placed the toothbrush down on the counter, looked over his bandaged and bruised face, brushed his hands through his bangs to straighten them and walked back into the living room. He peered into the kitchen and saw Kai sitting at the table, but he wasn’t alone.
Professor Ivanov was sitting with his back to Ray, talking quite animatedly to Kai and smiling brightly. They both looked up and turned to ray when he knocked on the wall to announce he was in the room. He felt like he was in a court room. Both men had very calculating stares that seemed to bore right into him. Ray swallowed and gave a weak smile.
“I didn’t know you had company, Kai,” Tala said with a rather questioning voice.
“Don’t get any idea’s, Ivanov,” Kai bit back, glaring at the redhead. “He was attacked when leaving the school. It’s lucky I had worked late or he’d have been worse of than now.”
Tala gave Kai an apologetic look and turned back to Ray. After surveying him, he nodded and offered him a seat. Ray sat down slowly, not wanting to intrude on their conversation, but both seemed to have forgotten it and were now facing him.
“Right, your tea,” Kai said, standing and moving to the counter.
“Thank you,” Ray whispered as he took it from Kai’s warm fingers.
“Your trembling,” Kai noted after sitting down.
“What exactly happened?” Tala said, directing the question to Ray. “How exactly were you attacked?”
“I – um – well–”
“Good job, Tala,” Kai muttered. “Make him feel more uncomfortable than he already is.”
Tala blushed and turned away form Ray, facing his steaming cup of tea again. He looked down at the swirling brown liquid. Kai looked at Ray with those same mysterious crimson eyes streaked with their hint of grey and lowered his brows. Ray, feeling like he was under a heavy spotlight just staring back into those heavy depths, turned away and sipped at his own tea.
“Shit,” Tala said suddenly, making Ray jump.
“Bless you,” said Kai.
“I need to get back,” Tala gasped, standing up quickly. “I’m expecting a call from my attorney.”
“Right,” said Kai, standing. “I’ll see you out. I’ll be right back, Kon.”
Ray looked up and nodded as he watched the two men leave the kitchen. He couldn’t help but lean over the table to peak at them. Kai’s back was to him and he was talking in a low voice to Tala who’s head was down and was frowning deeply. Suddenly, those ice blue eyes looked up and Tala cupped Kai’s cheek. Ray was about to look away, but was stunned into a stupor when he saw Kai remove the hand from his cheek and shake his head.
Tala smiled all the same and opened the door, Kai leaning against it as he watched the redhead descend the stairs. Ray gasped and hastily sat back down when Kai turned back to the kitchen. He gulped his tea and coughed, his throat burning from the hot liquid. He felt a hand rub his back and looked up into Kai’s amused eyes.
“Don’t die on me,” he said with a smirk.
“I’ll try not too,” Ray said in a raspy voice.
Kai sat down heavily and sighed, shoving a hand heavily through his mat of silver and blue hair, eyes closed with exasperation. Ray leaned forward a little, his hands clasped tightly around his mug.
“So how’s the case going?” Ray asked, trying to make conversation.
“Not good, that’s for sure,” Kai grumbled.
“Oh, I’m sorry to hear that,” Ray whispered. “I’m guessing it’d be hard to lose–”
“Kid, if I hear you say my lover, swear I’ll throw you through the living room window,” Kai said gruffly.
Ray blushed. “S-s-sorry.”
Kai smirked and tipped his mug to his lips and then placed it back down almost silently. He looked at Ray with the most darkest of eyes he had yet seen his Professor turn toward someone, and his breath caught deep within his throat. He looked so... mysterious.
“Me and Tala go way back,” Kai said, leaning back in his chair, eyes never straying from Ray. “We grew up knowing each other as kids at the private school my grandfather had sent me too.”
“Oh, wow,” Ray said.
“Yea, known each other since we were only eight,” said Kai smirking. “I always had to bail him out of tough jams.”
“Like me,” Ray muttered.
“Yea, like you,” Kai chuckled. “It is quite strange, though, that you always seem to be getting hurt. Quite accident prone, aren’t you.”
“No I’m not,” Ray said defiantly. “I’m just having – a – a rough week, that’s all.”
“Right,” Kai grunted. “And if this week is what you call ‘rough’ then I pray to wonder what the next few months have in store for you.”
Ray blushed furiously.
“So, tell me about yourself,” said Kai in a change of subject.
Ray blanched a moment. “Um... well...”
Kai got up and placed his cup in the sink. Ray marveled at his well-rounded behind and the firmness of, should we say, ass. He blushed and hid his face behind his mug when Kai turned around and leaned against the counter, watching him.
“Well?” said Kai.
“Oh, right, a bit about myself,” Ray said, putting down his mug. “Well, I grew up in a small village in China, away from any civilization. My people grew up training young students like myself in ever form of martial arts possible. My best friend, Lee, and his sister, Mariah, always used to practice together and laugh when we made stupid mistakes.”
Kai nodded.
“When I told the elders about wanting to leave and go to University to study criminal psychology, they practically went into a frenzy about disobeying the laws of our people,” Ray said glumly. “It was Lee who was able to persuade them.”
Kai nodded again.
“I wonder how he’s doing,” muttered Ray. “He and Mariah... and the others.”
“Why not go see them this Christmas?” Kai suggested.
“I can’t,” Ray sighed sadly. “The elders said that if I returned to the village before my schooling was complete, they would not let me return to study anymore. It is they who are paying for my education, after all.”
“It’s easy to get homesick,” Kai said, sitting down now.
“I’m not homesick,” Ray said vehemently.
“Yea, right,” said Kai sarcastically. “I know you’re lying, it’s all over your face. I got homesick too when I went away to private school; not being able to see my... sister.”
He said the last word a little thickly, swallowing back the obvious lump of feeling sorry for himself and giving Ray a weak, lopsided smirk. Ray returned it, yet only halfheartedly. He was feeling the pain in his legs slowly aching through his body, and his pants were clinging to the clotted blood, ripping at the scabbed wounds.
Kai seemed to notice, because he said, “we should finish bandaging you up before sending you back to your dorm.”
“No, I’m fine,” Ray lied.
Kai glared at him intensely and stood. He walked around the table so fast Ray had hardly swivelled in his chair before Kai had forced him to his feet, dragged him from the kitchen, and threw him down onto the couch; sprawled and out of breath suddenly. Kai grabbed the bottom of Ray’s sweats and looked up at his shocked face.
“Might want to get a grip on your boxers.”
And with that, he pulled, and down came Ray’s pants, almost taking his silky bottoms with it. He blushed furiously and immediately shadowed himself. He felt extremely exposed before his very stoic and handsome Professor, and wasn’t much for showing to much flesh it he had anything to do about it. But Kai didn’t seem to notice. He had seated himself back on the floor in front of Ray and was examining the badly scabbed scars.
Ray suddenly felt the rippling pain of his legs being scratched and pulled and the warm trickle of fresh blood only made him feel it more.
“These look bad,” Kai said, frowning.
“T-they do,” Ray said, shaking his head of it’s foggy interior.
“There’s a lot of dirt underneath the scabs, and lots of them seem to have gotten infected,” said Kai, frowning more seriously.
“Great,” muttered Ray.
Kai leaned towards his first aid kit and pulled out a poachers knife, a lighter and a long, needle-shaped pick. Ray immediately recoiled and jumped off the couch, completely unaware, now, of his body being fully exposed; clad in silk navy blue boxers and that was it.
“What is that?” he said in a deathly serious voice.
Kai didn’t seemed stunned by his sudden fear. “It’s a needle.”
“N-n-needle,” Ray repeated. “Why?”
“We need to get those wounds clean and dig out the dirt. I’ll use the poachers knife to cut into the scab, use the lighter to singe and bring the dirt to the surface and then use the needle to pry it out of your wounds,” Kai said rather calmly.
“Kidding – you’re kidding,” Ray said, laughing.
“I don’t kid, Kon,” Kai snapped. “Now get back here or I’ll pin you down and do it.”
“Try it,” Ray snarled.
Kai stood abruptly, his face contorted into silent annoyance as he advanced. He didn’t look at all joking when he said he would pin Ray down, and now the neko-jin was debating whether or not what he said was even remotely clever.
“You know,” Kai said casually, looking at the needle in hand. “If I have to pin you down, you’ll squirm, and if you squirm, I’ll probably stab you many times while trying to help you.”
Ray went white. “O-okay... okay, you win, I’ll cooperate.”
“Good,” was his only reply.
Ray settled himself shakily on the couch, watching as Kai lit a candle, placed a small metal plate over the flame and set the long slender needle and top of it. He turned back around, facing Ray, and shuffled forward. The long slick gleam of the poachers knife clicked into ray’s brain as Kai brought his hand down onto a scab, and cut deep into the gross-looking flesh.
Ray winced; it hurt.
He gripped the couch tightly, biting his bottom lip extremely hard and grunted through the pain. It was gone, but immediately replaced by something sizzling hot against the wound, and he yelped, shaking his head furiously as white hot steam rose from the bubbling wound. Kai held him still, focusing extremely hard on his task.
“Keep still,” he ordered.
“It hurts,” whimpered Ray.
“I know it hurts,” said Kai, “but I have to do it.”
“Ouch – stop, that really hurts,” Ray gasped, biting his lip harder.
“Don’t worry, it’s almost out,” Kai said. “Just a little more.”
“No, Professor, please stop this,” cried Ray. “It’s hurting...”
He heard a squelching noise and the suctioning of boiled skin against the long needle before, with a sudden gasp of relief, the white hot pain was gone. Ray’s leg felt icily numb, the spot in which the needle had been now bleeding badly. Kai was back with his ointment and splattered the stinging clear liquid over the wound; Ray hissing.
“It’s out,” Kai said, wiping blood from Ray’s knee.
He was panting, one hand pressed over the damp towel that was slowly becoming pink. He whimpered and noticed, quite embarrassingly, that he was crying. He wiped the tears away hastily and sniffed back any notification he had cried. He didn’t want to seem weak, not in front of his Professor.
“W-what was it?” Ray asked shakily.
“A piece of glass,” Kai said, holding up the bloody, oil-green shard.
“That... was in my leg,” Ray gasped.
Kai nodded, “Dirt is much easier to get out, and less painful. Just a little sting of heat and then it’s gone. But this –” Kai brandished the shard of glass “– was infecting your leg and probably would have done some serious damage if I hadn’t removed it.”
“Oh, thank you,” whispered Ray.
“I’m a Professor, Kon–”
“– Ray.”
“What?”
“My name, it’s Ray,” whispered Ray gently. “You don’t have to keep calling me Kon.”
“Ray.”
He couldn’t believe it. Hearing his name roll from his Professors mouth like a sweet wine almost made his heart explode. He felt fluttering in his chest and his face become a nice bright pink, his ears heating up. A hand touched his bottom lip and he looked deeply into Kai’s crimson eyes. Just now, he was noticing the bitter taste of something metallic in his mouth and the wetness of it dribbling down his chin.
Kai had noticed to.
“You bit your lip,” he whispered.
“W-well, i-it d-d-did hurt,” Ray stuttered.
It was almost like it never happened, but it did. Kai’s thumb traced Ray’s bottom lip ever-so-slowly. It moved gently over the slightly swollen bitten area and then back again. He was definitely aware of how close he and his Professor were at the moment. His breath hitched, his mind was swimming. And then, it happened.
Their lips touched... again.
It was slow, hesitant, and warm. They moved their lips together, pressing more firmly, forgetting everything around them. Ray felt his eyes slid slowly close and placed his hands on Kai’s well-rounded shoulders. His head was tipped up and to the side, and the kiss deepened farther.
Almost instantly, just as opposite of how it had started, it had ended.
Kai had pulled away hastily, backing into the coffee table behind him and knocking the candle over, wax spilling over the glass surface as the flame died and the needle went rolling across the surface. He didn’t have a look on his face t express anything. He looked blank, almost lost. Rau was flushed red with the most embarrassment. He was gripping the couch tightly, hiding the evidence of his arousal with his torn and ripped pants.
“U-Um,” he stuttered.
“I’ll take you back now,” Kai said, turning and leaving the room. “Get dressed and meet me down in my car.”
Ray nodded at Kai’s retreating back. He dressed quickly, pulling on his pants hastily – and backwards – righted them and threw on his torn shirt. He dashed out of Kai’s house and down the steps two at a time, pulled open the vehicle door and buckled himself in in less than fifteen minutes.
They said nothing as the car was pulled out of the drive and down the street back towards the city lights. It seemed to take a lot longer than before, everything going by slowly. Ray kept his eyes ahead out the front window, unable to turn to look at the man sitting so silently beside him. When Kai had kissed him he had felt so warm... and wanted more.
Much more.
Finally, after what felt like hours, the large black SUV stopped and was put into park. They sat in silence, both staring out the window at the school, it’s two large lights that lit the front doors beaming through the darkness. Ray looked at the long walk from the vehicle to his dorm and felt a tinge of fear.
What if that gang was waiting?
What if he was killed this time?
“Don’t worry,” Ray heard Kai say finally, after what felt like many long hours. “I’ll wait until you get to your dorm before leaving. Just in case...”
Ray nodded, his lips shut tightly, and opened the door beside him. He slid from his seat, but a hand on his wrist stopped him. He looked over his shoulder at his Professors face, unable to see anything due to the fact that Kai was still staring at the school rather than at him.
“What happened... was an accident,” Kai muttered, releasing Ray’s hand.
“Heat of the moment,” Ray muttered.
He shut the door of the large black vehicle and walked across the lawn, crossing his arms over his chest and shivering. He walked under a lamp that glowed eerily down on him and the bench he sat beside and looked at it. That was when they had kissed earlier. Had it also been a mistake – heat of the moment?
Without looking back to see if Kai was watching him, he set off at a quicker pace over the grounds and up the stairs to his dorm. He heard the distinct rumble of the large SUV’s engine and the crunch of its tires before the sound drowned away into the silence. Ray reached for the door, but before he could quietly open it, it flung open and Tyson’s frantic face appeared.
“Where have you been,” he cried, aghast.
“Umm–”
“We thought you were kidnaped,” said Tyson irritably.
“You did?” said Ray.
“Ray, oh thank, God,” Max said, sighing heavily as Tyson shoved him down onto the sofa in the living room.
He was staring around att he four boys, all who seemed to be carrying worried expressions. Max was seated in Miguel’s lap, his hands clasped tightly into his boyfriends black shirt – he had obviously been crying. But why? Had he – Ray – done that?
“Guys don’t worry,” Ray assured. “I’m fine.”
“Then where were you?” Tyson cried out, exasperated.
“I – I was...” he couldn’t say at Professor Hiwatari’s, that would only raise weird suspicions. “I went for a walk.”
‘Oh, real smooth, Ray,’ he snapped at himself.
“A walk,” Tyson repeated, almost deflating.
He slumped beside Claud in onto of the heavy armchairs that cluttered the large living room and huddled next to his boyfriend. Claud wrapped his arms around Tyson’s waist and shook his head with a tired sigh.
“Well, I’m putting him to bed,” Claud said finally, standing up and pulling a willing Tyson out of the chair. “Were glad you’re okay, Ray.”
“Thanks,” he said. “I’m sorry I worried you all.”
Max gaze him a hearty smile and stood up, releasing Miguel’s shirt and threw his arms around Ray’s neck. He pulled away and smiled even more brightly, his eyes twinkling beautifully in the dim light around the room.
“Were glad you’re okay, too,” he said softly.
“I am really sorry I worried you,” Ray whispered.
“We forgive you,” Max whispered in return.
He smiled and Miguel stood behind them. Max went to him and they left Ray alone, saying their goodnights and dispersed into Max’s room. Ray smiled weakly, walking toward his bedroom and flinging open the door. It slammed behind him and he threw himself onto the large plush bed before him.
His heart thumped miserably in his chest, and he felt weight on his shoulders he hadn’t felt before. Not two hours ago he had royally screwed his entire life into the ground, and he had only been at school for a week and a half now. His heart gaze an irritable jolt and he sighed angrily to himself.
“Maybe if Professor Hiwatari wasn’t so fucking hot,” he muttered miserably. “How will I face him in class now...”Soft lips brushed his very heated skin of his inner thigh. He squirmed against the touch, whimpering deep within his throat. He tossed his head back into the heavy mass of sheets and pillowed around him, his hands diving into luscious hair that was soft and warm. His knees bent and spread farther as he was taken and caressed by the heat and warmth of a delicate tongue and talented mouth.
He bit his bottom lips hard, his head tilting back into the many scattered white pillows and cried out, tossing his mane of long black hair. His mind was swimming, his heart thundering and his body trickling with heavy perspiration. The movement was slow and gentle, drawing out the inevitable.
Sooner or later, he was going to burst.
Stars tingled behind his eyes and his legs spread even wider, a hand gentle finger his entrance. He gasped, stiffening, and cried out yet again. It was so good, so warm and so comforting. He hands laced deeper into the thick hair, pushing the head of that who was doing this to him deeper onto his elongated manhood.
His back arched off the sheets and into the darkness and his world exploded in a flurry of white hot flashes and streaming fluid. He was panting heavily, flopping back into the sheets and untangling his sweating hands from the thick mane of hair. He bit the back of his hand as a tear tickled from his eyes with release.
The hot mouth along his limping erection swallowed what he had just released so heavenly and continued to finger him. He continued to pant, long, drawn out breaths. His heart was thumping heavily and he could feel the need for more deep within him. The finer was gone, his body trembled for more.
A face appeared and he gasped, feeling something push against him. His hips lifted and his head buried deep into one strong shoulder, he was plundered. His head fell back and his eyes widened... and only one word was drawn from deep within him that he screamed for the world to hear.
“KAI!!!!”
Ray sat up, the bright rays of the sun draining through his windows. His body was sticky with sweat and semen. His heart was pounding.
A dream...
Just... a dream.
He fell back against the pillows of his bed, curling deep into the soft fabric of sheets and bit down on his swollen bottom lip. His eyes glued themselves to the wall beside his bed and lay unblinking. He tore his eyes from the wall and looked at his clock...
6:15 am.
He had a class in an hour and a half.
Slowly, he got up, and, remembering what he had said to Professor Hiwatari in his SUV, leaned his head against the shower wall...
“It may have been an accident for you...” Ray whispered, the water draining down his back. “But for me... it felt right.”

A/N: Yes, I did get the idea of a University/College fic from one “The Warrior Of Flame.” But, my story will be completely different (if you cannot already tell). And yes, I do read her fic “Innocent Dance”. Very good, I must admit, and very drawing. Likes to leave readers in much awaited suspense. I respect that greatly. I thank her for the idea, and can’t wait for her next update. Thank you for everyone who has reviewed my story and continue reviewing. Next chapter should be posted in within the week.
