Breakfast guests

Chapter five;

Breakfast guests

Zechs was enjoying a steaming cup of coffee when the doorbell rang. He growled, but ignored it. Nobody would be so rude that they came to visit him this early in the morning.

But when Zechs didn’t open the door who ever it was outside of it started pressing the bell repeatedly, making sure to do it as annoying as possible.

Zechs hand froze in its movements. Then he cast a quick glance at the door and swept the dark liquid in one large ‘gulp’.

Now he knew exactly who it was behind that locked door.

And yes, he had been right. For as soon as the door had been unlocked and open a young female pushed a small baby into his arms and rushed inside the apartment.

“Well it is a pleasure to see you too Sally.” He muttered after she had walked past him, her eyes searching his home.

“I am so sorry, my wife hasn’t-”
“Don’t worry.” Zechs interrupted her husband and hurried him inside. “He’s still in bed.” He said then, realizing what the woman was looking for.

She froze and looked at him. Face filled with doubt.

“You’re joking right?”
“No, why would I joke about that?”
“Well firstly because he’s always up before the sun and secondly, he never, and I mean never sleeps in.”
“Well then,” He said still annoyed over his ruined breakfast and sleep. “Why don’t you go and check for yourself?”

She looked skeptically at him for a second.

“If that is the case then you Sir should get a medal.” She said before she turned her heels and left for the bedroom, not noticing Zechs who followed shortly.

Just as Zechs had said, Wufei was still lying in bed in his stomach with the covers drawn up over his ears and his face was buried in the pillow which he was also hugging tightly in his arms.

That was the only was he could lay without showing the shame that still hovered over his features.

“Wufei?” Sally whispered lovingly as she sat herself down next to him on the bed. When he then refused to acknowledge her presence she laid a hand over his shoulder, squeezing gently and reassuring. “Wufei, look at me.”

No I can’t look at you, or have you might already forgotten that I’m still blind?!

Zechs appeared in the doorway, still holding one of her small babies.
“He won’t talk to you Sally, no matter how much you beg him too.”
“I know he can’t speak yet Zechs!”She said in anger. “But why won’t he look at me?”
“He’s probably, no, I am sure that he is still sulking over last night.”

She rose from the bed and crossed her arms over her chest.
“What did you do to him?! I told you to be nice to him!”
“I didn’t do anything!” Zechs said in defense.
“Then why would he be sulking?” She said as she walked closer to him. And when she was only an inch away she rose on tip-toe, forcing the blond man to face her.

“Zechs. What. Did. You. Do?”

He smiled and leaned down closer to her.

“He needed my help but he wouldn’t ask for it until it was too late.” He said and stretched back to his full height again.

“Zechs.” She said warningly.
“What?” He snapped and turned to Wufei. “Chang please tell Sally that I have not physically hurt you.”

She turned around so she could face the young agent still lying in bed. The boy seemed to hesitate, but then he shook his head.

“See?” Zechs said with a smile.

Even though Wufei had agreed with Zechs she still didn’t believe him. She knew that something had happened between the two of them, and as it looked none of them felt like telling her on their own free will.

“Sally, he’s fine.”
“Really? Then why is he still in bed? Hiding from me?”
“Oh, come on! He is hardly hiding! He isn’t lying under the bed, now is he?” He laughed and looked down at the small child in his arms, which rewarded him with a innocent smile. “He’s just angry for not being able to do everything on his own right now.” Zechs said trying to hide his smile.

“Hmm.”

“He’s still alive, and I think that’s what you came to make sure of. So now that you’ve seen him with your own eyes you can leave and let me handle this.”

“Ah, no..” She said with a beaming smile. “We were in such a hurry that we didn’t even had any time to eat, and that includes the twins.” She added when the tall blond opened his mouth to protest. “So we figured that we could invite ourselves to stat for breakfast here.”

“You thought that?”
“Yes. Now,will you be so kind to get Wufei out of bed, dressed and cleaned up while I go start the stove.”
“I already ate.”
“There is always room for more. You told me that.” She said, still smiling as she left the room without the doubt that the Zechs would indeed help his patient out of bed and ready for breakfast. She only wished she had brought a camera, Zechs carrying Wufei in his arms would have been a lovely picture!

Zechs sighed and walked over to the bed.

“Chang, get up.”

The boy shook his head, he never wanted to get out of that bed.

Zechs sighed.

“Chang, either you do this on your own or last night is just going to repeat itself. I do want you to get better.”

Yeah right! Wufei’s mind laughed.

Wufei was still for a moment before he rolled over and tossed the covers off his body. He was just about to drag himself to the edge as he had the night before, but a pair of strong hands pulled him up in a seated position.

“I’m going to carry you.” He said slipping his arms around Wufei. “I do not think your legs will appreciate you if you work them too hard already. Especially after last night.” He chuckled. “That and Sally would kill me if I let you walk against a doctor’s order.”

When they entered the man’s kitchen Sally was standing on her toes searching through his cabinets. The twins had been put on the counter with constant surveillance by her loving husband.

“Don’t you have any brad?” Sally asked without turning her head away from her search.
“Yes, but not anywhere near where you’re looking for it.”

He walked around the small bar and put the grumpy boy down on one of the two chairs by the small table.

“It’s over here.” He opened a cabinet next to the small table. “You want dark or light?”
“Dark for me, light for Wufei and, ehrm, Michael?”
“It doesn’t matter.”
“Michael?”
“Light please.”

Zechs took out some already sliced pieces and placed them in a small basket.

“Michael,” Sally said holding out butter and cheese. When her hands became free she immediately dug back into the refrigerator. “And this too..” She held out a ham and a jar of strawberry jam.

“Are you going to eat all this?!” Zechs said as he realized that they would eat him out of his home. “What? Are you pregnant again?”
“Oh, don’t be rude. And no, I am not pregnant. Two is enough, for now.” She said and gave her husband a quick peak on the cheek. “And no, this isn’t for me. It’s for Wufei.”
“You think he wants to eat all of this?”
“No, but he’ll do it just to please me.”
“Are we talking about the same person here Sally?” He whispered, but it was still loud enough for everybody else to hear.
“Yes.” She whispered playfully back. “Now lets start eating!”

And with that she pushed him down on the chair next to the young Chinese, surprised at Zechs for actually letting her.

She hummed happily as she reached for a slice of soft white bread for Wufei. Knowing that her young friend didn’t eat ham, she reached over and grabbed the small jar of jam.

Wufei had spent the night at her house one time, after being forced by the horrible weather of course. She hadn’t been able to hide her disgust when he asked her for some jam. She couldn’t understand why anybody would like something like that on their sandwiches! She had almost made him eat one with cheese, but he refused that too. Said it tasted just like something that came out of a garbage can!

But then he had forced her to have a bite and after that she hadn’t said a word. It tasted just like marmalade, if not better!

She also learned that he loved white bread, but that he stayed away from that because it wasn’t as healthy as dark bread. Silly little boy she had thought, he was in top condition a slice or two wouldn’t make any difference!

When she had prepared two slices she walked over to Wufei. She reached for his hands and put the sandwiches in them.

“White bread with strawberry jam, just the way you like them!”
“You forgot to cut the-”
“He is not a child Zechs!”

***

The rest of the meal went by in small conversations about the bad weather during her and Michael’s honeymoon, and about how hectic it had been at the hospital when she was giving birth to the twins. It wasn’t until they had started to clean the table she started sneaking in questions about what had happened between the two agents yesterday.

“So, how did it go last night?” She said slipping in the sentence into their small talk.
“Just fine, what did you say her name was? I still can’t seem to remember-”
“Zechs, please?”
“If you’d like to know you can ask Wufei.”
“Well, normally I would but there’s this little problem..”
“Sally trust me, I will not hurt him unless he tries to kill me.” He sighed. “We ate and then went to sleep. That’s all.” He looked her in her eyes. “I swear.”
“Then why don’t I believe you?”
“How should I know? The mother hen inside of you perhaps?” He smiled.

Sally looked into his eyes and admitted to her defeat. She sighed and left the kitchen to check on the injured agent, who was currently sitting on the large sofa together with her husband and her young little babies. She stopped close to her married half and watched Wufei cradle her oldest. It was just under rare moment she had seen a genuine smile across his lips. Oddly those moments was often connected to the few times he was sitting alone with Michael and the babies.

“Wufei,” She said after a short while, not really wanting to take away something that could make the boy feel happy. “Would you mind if I took a look at your injuries?”

The smile disappeared almost at once, but he nodded and passed the small child to Michael.

Sally sat down in front of him on the soft carpet over the floor.
“Okay, I’m going to lift your led, one by one and if it hurts please let me know?”

Wufei nodded and placed an arm over the sofa’s, digging his fingers deep into it.

“Your legs are a bit stiff still, but that’s nothing a hot bath and, or some massage can’t cure.” Sally said patting his knee as she looked at Zechs. “And I can guarantee that Zechs will make sure that you take a long warm bath later.”
She looked at him for a moment before a sigh passed between her lips. She rose from the floor and sat down next to the Chinese boy.
“You’re sure that nothing happened last night?”
“Sally!” Zechs said aloud in irritation. “That’s enough. Thank you for visiting, but I think that we are perfectly capable to manage on our own here.”
“Oh, don’t be-”
“You’re leaving, now.”
“But-”
After about half an hour, a lot of persuading and threatening Zechs finally got the couple and their younglings out of his apartment. He was particularly keen on locking the door after them, just incase they decided to march right back in.

He really didn’t have anything against either Sally or her husband, but he was very happy that neither of them was in Wufei’s place. Sally would have given him grey hairs even before she got out of the hospital!

He chuckled sadly. He couldn’t be such a bastard that the woman really thought that he had killed the young agent already?

Zechs walked over to the large couch and sat down with a sigh on the far end from the Chinese youth.

The blond man sat completely still for a long time, thinking. Thinking about last nigh, and what Sally had said just minutes earlier. It was kind of his fault that Wufei’s legs cramped during her little examination. If he hadn’t let the boy try to walk on his own, the doctors had been very clear on that point. No extreme walking for the first days. He should have asked him if he needed anything when he realized that he was getting out of bed. Damn, he should have asked already before he went to bed, or at least considered it when the Chinese had reached out for him.

But no... He just had be mad at everything and behave like a five-year-old little brat!

He looked at the youth on the other side of the couch, apparently he was too deep in thought.

“Chang, get your feet up on the couch.”

Wufei looked up at his harsh voice. He couldn’t understand the man. Really, why should he want his feet up on the couch, because he cared about his wellbeing? Because he could read him so easily that he saw the pain?

He wished he could read the blond man’s face, whatever his reasons were it couldn’t be good...

“Get your feet up.” The blond repeated.

Wufei’s dark eyes traveled down to the floor. He vaguely remembered what Sally had said, but be never, never, thought that the tall blond would do something like that for him. He really didn’t want the other man’s hands on him? Did he?

...But a massage would feel nice, maybe it could ease the pain a little?

Slowly he moved so that he was leaning his back against the low arm of the sofa, but he had barely gotten his feet up on it before he felt Zechs hands close around his ankles.

First he almost fought back, believing that the tall man was going to hurt him. But the strong hands simply helped him maneuver his body over the couch. Pulling him down until his back was lying flat against the seating.

Then Zechs pulled Wufei’s legs over his lap and started folding the wide fabric of the pant legs up over his thighs. The boy whimpered unconsciously and tried to roll down the folded cotton when Zechs reached, to high, according to himself. But the blond man just grabbed his hands and placed them over his head.

Rule number one Chang, remember?” He muttered and pulled the fabric up even higher just to annoy the boy. And to prove his point.

He warmed up his hands and started kneading around the young one’s ankles, working his way up. He was surprised, and he had to fight away the rush of blood that rushed to his loins. The Chinese legs felt like satin under his rough hands. There wasn’t any trace of hair, and even though there were many small scars he could not feel them as he could feel the scaring over his own body.

It took a while for Wufei to let himself relax and enjoy the massage. Zechs wasn’t as ruthless as he thought him to be, and it felt sinfully nice to have somebody else touch you.

Perhaps a little too nice...

He was glad that Zechs never reached higher than to his kneecaps, and that was probably the only reason that made it possible for him to relax under the other man’s touch.

A sly smile appeared over Zechs thin lips when the young Chinese let his weight rest completely against the sofa. Maybe Sally did know what she was talking about?

Kneading over the sore muscles harder over the young one’s calves he drew a small moaning whisper from the boy. Zechs watched in fascination as the dark haired agent threw an arm over his face mumbling something the blond was never to understand.

But it did sound like he tried to curs him.

He smiled.
He could feel how Wufei’s body became more and more relaxed and soon he started drifting his hands higher up over his thighs. Wufei didn’t notice until he felt those same hands brush dangerously close to his crotch.
His dark obsidian eyes flew wide open and he jerked away from the man’s touch, nearly falling from the couch in the process.
What the hell?!
To say he was angry was a slight understatement. He was furious.
Zechs had no right to touch him like that!
No one had.

To Be Continued…
