Game of Pool
A/N: kikiko, glad you like it so far. I have been working on the spelling and grammar. Silver4HENTAI, Anon and raindrop150, thank you guys for reviewing and I’m happy you like it so much. Finally the hardest week of the year is over and I have more free time.
Yesterday I was at the movies and checked ”Frozen Angel”. It gave me so many ideas and I can’t wait to write them down :)
Chapter 6; Game of Pool
”Wazzup gangsters? This is J to the A to the Y, and you are listening to radio Extreme. Next up is Snoop Dog featuring Pharrell.”
Ed turned the volume up and the base vibrated throughout the car. His fingers tapped against the steering wheel in tune with the rhythm while bouncing his head.
When the pimp’s in the criba ma
Drop it like it’s hot
Drop it like it’s hot
Drop it like it’s hot
When the pigs try to get ya
Park it like it’s hot
Park it like it’s hot
Park it like it’s hot
It was already 7 o’clock in the evening and the streets were painted orange and red as the sun was setting on the west side of the city. Ed hated Mondays. The first day of the week. If it was a bad day the rest of the week would suck. And it had been a very bad day.
”I got the rolly on my arm and I'm pouring Chandon. And I roll the best weed 'cause I got it going on…” Ed sang the lyrics loudly. He was so deep in thought, that he almost didn’t notice the cop car behind him. He muttered a curse as the police car lights began to spin.
’Shit,’ he thought. ‘How many cop run-ins can a person have in a week?’
He pulled to a stop and waited for the officer to come to his vehicle. Ed almost jumped to the roof when a voice came from a megaphone: "Get out of your vehicle with your hands up! Slowly!" Ed irately shook his head but obliged, cursing under his breath, stepping out of his car, back facing the police. "Now, walk backwards to the back of your vehicle take two steps to your left! Slowly!" Ed rolled his eyes and did as told, walking to the back of his car and standing before the trunk. "Look, is it really that serious? Why don’t you guys just tell me what I did, and we can get this over with."
"Cuff him!" the same voice said without a megaphone. Ed’s hands were roughly grabbed by someone. "Come on guys," Ed said, very annoyed. "Is this really necessary? What the hell did I do?"
”You are under arrest for under-aged driving.”
”Who the ell are you calling so short he couldn’t even get to drive the bumper-cars at the theme park?!”
”No one said that Edward,” a deep voice laughed, one Ed cursed himself he hadn’t recognized earlier, turning around angrily.
”Scar, you son of a bastard!” Ed yelled, the detective laughing with the officer who had been in on the scam. ”I’m so not going to pay taxes if this is what I get for my money! Cops arresting guys like me, just for a few kicks!”
”What money, Edward? You have never had an honest job in your life. Besides, I promised to find you and take you out for a drink.”
”I didn’t know you meant hunt me down and cuff me!” Ed growled. ”Don’t you have enough bad-guys in this town to chase?”
”I don’t do the red and blue lights here. I’m off duty, and this kind officer here offered to give me a ride to the hotel I’m staying at. But then we bumped into the worst bad-guy from Risembool. And we are going to go have that drink.” Scar nodded to the officer, they shook hands and the other man left in his car, leaving Scar with Ed.
Ed wiggled his fingers, indicating that he was still cuffed. "A little help please?"
Scar dug his pockets for the keys. ”If I told you I don’t have any?”
”I’d kill you,” Ed warned, not in the mood for games. Chuckling Scar pulled out the keys and uncuffed Ed.

”You kids have the strangest taste in everything,” Scar stated suddenly. ”I mean look at the way you dress. And what you listen to! What ever happened to Elvis and Sting & the Police? What is this you try to pass off as music?”
Ed quirked an eyebrow, glancing at Scar before turning his attention back to the street. He had never thought of Scar as old until now.
”It’s called rap, R&B and Hip-Hop. If you don’t like it, switch to the radio.” Ed wasn’t going to argue, it had been hard enough to convince the detective to let him drive his own car.
”Don’t mind if I do.” Scar pressed the halt-button and switched to the radio. He frowned deeply when the same kind of music was played on most of the stations. Finally he found a station to his taste, playing You Know My Name by Chris Cornell.
Ed got a confused look on his face. "Since when did you start listening to--"
"Shh!"
Ed’s confusion turned into surprise. When the hell did Scar start shushing him? His cell-phone rang and Ed quickly checked the caller before flipping his phone open.
”Hello? Hey Winry. Driving somewhere, why? No, I’m with a friend. I don’t know…ok…I said ok! We’ll be there. Yeah, I know the place. Alright, see you in 15.”
Ed ended the call and made a sudden turn to the left and another left, the reckless driving waking the cop within Scar.
”What the hell are you doing?”
”You said you didn’t care where we went, so Winry decided for us.”
”Winry? Your girlfriend?”
”Winry, a girl. Not a girlfriend, nor a friend. We work at the same garage. And don’t look so surprised, I have a job and I know a few people in this city by now. Let’s go say ’hello’.”
***********************************************************************
Ed hit the brakes, pulling over on the other side of the street. Across the street in front of a place called ’The Silver Rose’, the others were sitting on the hoods of their cars. They were obviously waiting for him. Scar and Ed got out of the car and walked across the street.
"What’s happening’ guys? We were wondering when you guys would get here!" Winry said, by way of greeting. Havoc looked up from his make out session with a girl. "Oh, hey Boss. What took you guys so long?"
"Got lost on the way here."
"Wish you would get lost now," Jenny said, under her breath. She took Roy’s arm. Winry elbowed Ed and jerked her head in Scar’s direction that stood with his arms crossed.
"Oh yeah, this is my friend Scar. Scar, this is Winry. Winry, Scar." Ed introduced them.
Wiry smiled, taking Scar’s hand. ”Nice to meet you.”
Scar smiled back, nodding. He looked up, his red eyes meeting onyx. Roy looked at Scar and got a weird look on his face. As did Scar.
”So, let’s go get something to eat. I’m starving!” Havoc said. Roy blatantly shook himself of Jenny’s hold and led the way in. The crew followed behind him. Scar suddenly grabbed Ed’s shoulders and dragged him to the side.
"Hey, what was all that about?" Ed asked. ”I saw how you reacted when you saw Roy Mustang.” Scar glanced at him, deciding whether to tell him or not. ”Damnit Scar!”
”I know him from a drug bust a few years back. You shouldn’t get mixed with his kind, Edward.”
Ed tore himself free from the older man’s grasp. ”I’m not a kid anymore, Scar. Give me a break. I can take care of myself, no let’s go. I’m hungry.” Ed stubbornly turned and walked inside the restaurant, Scar following with a displeased look on his face.
The inside was packed with people either on the dance floor, playing pool, at the bar, or sitting at the tables waiting for food. They manoeuvred their way through the crowd, trying to find a few open tables. There was 15 of them, and only 5 to a seat. Luckily they found three empty tables.
Ed turned to find a seat among the others. "Come sit with us Fullmetal," he heard a voice, Winry say. Ed smiled gratefully and sat in the chair between her and Scar. His smile dropped however once he saw who sat across from him. ‘Let the fun begin,’ he thought sarcastically eyeing Jenny, and then Roy.
Havoc and Hughes brought a few beers to every table for those who were too lazy to order. Havoc even brought an ashtray to Ed’s table for Ed, winking and put out his own cigarette in it before lighting a new one.
"Have you ever been here before?" Hughes asked him conversationally, sitting down in Winry’s seat, letting her sit down in his lap.
Ed shook his head and Hughes turned to his friend. "No," Scar replied. "Never been to this part of town before."
Hughes laughed. "Well this is one of the hottest hot spots in Central. You’re not cool like me if you’re not here. I get all the ladies here too." Hughes leaned in to Ed. ”You see the girl with Havoc? I hooked them up. She wanted to get it on with me but I’m a happily married man! I don’t mind sharing with my less fortunate friends. It’s like I’m a babe magnet.” He bounced Winry in his lap and she giggled. She looked more like a girl than a tom-boy without the scarf in her hair, wearing a skirt and with her long blond hair tied in high a pony-tail.
"Hey!" yelled a woman sitting next to Riza from the table next to them. Gracia, Ed thought her name was. "What lies is my husband over there telling you?"
Hughes smiled innocently to his wife. "Oh, nothing darling. Just corrupting the mind of a vulnerable youth."
"Yeah, right. I bet you’re telling her all about your ‘honeys’." Hughes returned to his tale, giving his wife a sweet kiss before taking his seat. She rolled her eyes and looked at Ed. "Less than 10 percent of what my husband tells you is true."
Ed nodded. "I could already tell." He was starting to like the team more and more. They were like a little family with no secrets among each other. Ed would have given anything for such happiness.
At Hughes’ table, Breda was having a fit. "Dammit! I’m hungry! When’s the food coming?!"
Havoc refrained from slapping him upside his head. "We haven’t ordered yet, dumb ass."
"Shut up Havoc! If you don’t have food for me, don’t talk to me!"
"Guess we should order." Winry stated, grabbing a menu.
Roy cupped his hands over his mouth, making a megaphone. "Rose! Get your pretty ass over here!"
A woman working the bar looked up. Roy waved her over. The young woman walked over smiling brightly. ”Hey Flame, nice to see you around. I thought you had forgotten about me.”
”How can I forget the girl who makes the best pasta in Central?” Roy smiled and she giggled softly. She turned and waved a waiter over.
”I’ll get you some drinks, Jay here will take the orders. Pasta for the womanizer there,” she told the waiter and went to get some drinks. The guy took the orders while Rose served the first round of drinks to the three tables.
"Dude! I saw your race last Friday, Roy! Those were some mad moves man!" Jay said in-between orders. Roy took a swig of one of the pre-ordered beers and raised his eyebrows in and "is that right," kind of gesture. ”Yeah, man! It was sweet! Can’t wait for the next one!" He turned the page on the pad after he got their orders and proceeded to get the rest of the crew at the other two tables.
”Wow, Roy, you sure do have a lot of admirers," Ed said, raising his eyebrows.
Roy took another swig of his beer. "Yeah, well it comes with the job. It’s hard to be as good as me."
"Don’t flatter yourself."
Roy smirked at Ed, bringing the bottle to his lips.
Ed felt fingers on her neck, slowly caressing him. He turned in his seat to see Rose stand behind him, smiling. She leaned over and whispered something in his ear.
”I didn’t want to say anything just now, but I saw you race and you were awesome. Wanna dance, Fullmetal?”
Ed smiled back, she looked like a nice girl. ”Sure,” he answered and she took his hand. Roy’s eyebrows wrinkled when he saw the two get up and walk to the dance floor.
Moments later, 'Aisha' by Outlandish came on. Gracia got up from her seat, pulling Hughes along with her. "Come on honey! We gotta dance to this!" They hurried to the dance floor, Havoc and his girl right behind them. Scar leaned back in his chair and looked at Riza, raising his eyebrows, jerking his head towards the dance floor. She smiled at him reluctantly but nodded, taking his hand after he walked up to her and let him lead her to the floor.
Falman asked Ross on the floor before Bloch had the chance, the blond watching them dance, sobbing while Fuery patted his back.
Roy angrily watched Ed and Rose dance. They weren’t even close. And what the fuck business was it of his if they were? What annoyed him was the smirk on Ed’s face when he caught Roy watching them. Roy felt an unwanted hand on his arm. "Let’s dance, Roy," Jenny said, tugging on him.
Roy was on the verge of saying something like, "take your hands off me," but he saw Ed grab Rose by the waist and pull her closer. Rose leaned in and whispered something to the blond that made him raise his brows, an amused smile on his lips. ’Oh, hell no!’
Roy stood up abruptly, yanking Jenny from her seat. "Come on."
When they got on the floor, a few feet from Rose and Ed, "Trade It All" by Fabulous started up, gaining cheers and hoots from the crowd. Roy pulled Jenny to him, eyeing Ed who was watching him over Rose’s shoulder. He watched Ed’s eyes flare.
Girl I’d trade it all
Money, cars, and everything
All
Ed moved his body closer to Rose, never breaking eye contact with Roy only a few feet away. Roy slid his arms up Jenny’s back, contributing to Ed’s annoyance.
Even give up my street dream
All, anything to have you on my team
All
Roy brought his lips to Jenny’s neck, still keeping his eyes on the one who he’d rather be doing this to. Ed guided Rose’s arms and let her wrap them around his neck, bringing her closer to him still. Ed whispered something to her and she tightened her hold on him.
Baby girl I’d trade it all,
Even give up the good green,
All, and I’d give the watch and pinkie ring,
All, anything to have you on my team
Roy growled, angry that Ed would try to be a player just to prove a point. Jenny misunderstood, thinking Roy was hot off her. She leaned in close, whispering seductively in his ear, "So, Roy. Want to go somewhere?" Roy brushed her voice off. He was entranced by the blond, young man holding a woman so securely in his embrace.
All, anything to have you on my team
All, baby girl I’d trade it all
The song slowly faded out, shaking Roy out of his trance and breaking his eye contact with Ed. He pulled back from Jenny and looked at her. She was smiling at him and he knew what she wanted.
The night before, at the party, he’d been fiercely craving the only guy who had made him sweat in a race and. He’d wanted Fullmetal badly. But since that wasn’t going to happen, he’d settled for Jenny, hoping that she would relieve his sexual frustrations. All she did was leave him wanting Ed even more.
In the background, he heard someone yelling about playing pool. He pushed Jenny aside and left, walking towards one of the pool tables. It was going to be a long fucking night.
***********************************************************************
Ed stepped away hastily from Rose when the song ended. What the hell was he doing, using this girl to get to Roy? There were plenty of other women there.
She looked at Ed and smiled politely, brushing her hair behind her ear. "Thanks for the dance, Fullmetal."
”Anytime babe. Anytime. And call me Ed.”
”Listen, Ed, I get off in a couple of hours. We could…you know. Go back to my place and…" She moved closer and touched the back of his neck, running her fingers over the braid. Ed searched his mind for something to say. He heard somebody yell something about playing pool. That’s it! Pool!
"Uh, no, I think I’m going to go do the whole 8 ball scene. You know, brush up on my skills." He said, feeling bad when she looked down sadly, understanding she had been shot down. Ed tenderly lifted her chin and looked her in her hazel eyes. He didn’t like it when girls looked sad. ”But I definitely want to dance again.”
She smiled and nodded, giving him a kiss on the cheek and went back to work. Ed touched his cheek and turned, heading to one of the tables and meeting up with Scar and Riza. Most of the people had decided to call it a night, the rest of them were playing at other various tables.
"Hey, you guys break yet?"
"No, still enough room for two more people," Riza replied.
"Alright, I’m in," Ed said, grabbing a pool stick.
"Count me in too." Ed wasn’t surprised to see Roy grabbing a stick also.
Scar took a swing of his beer and cracked his knuckles. "Who breaks?"
"I will, Scar," Roy said, putting extra emphasis on his name. "I’ve got lows, one through five," he said, breaking.
Ed nodded, not knowing what the fuck Roy was talking about. He’d never played the damn game in his life. But he could just watch and learn. How hard could it be?
***********************************************************************
20 minutes later, Roy was winning and Ed still hadn’t sunk one. He knew he was humiliating himself in front of them, but what the hell? He was going to get it right even if it killed him!
"Dammit, Fullmetal! Would you go already!? I’ve got better things to do than watch you stare at balls all night! You can pick up a guy here and do it in the bathroom."
"Would you shut up, Colonel-bastard!? You’re making me lose my focus, you damn pervert."
"Oh, so that’s your focus? Looks a hell of a lot like gawking at a fucking ball. And look at you. You’re not even holding it right!" he said, referring to the stick.
"Go fuck yourself, Roy," he said, his concentration still on the table. ”You can pick up a guy here and do it in the bathroom.”
Scar and Riza looked at each other. "So, Scar. How about buying me a drink? Or dance?"
Scar raised a brow at her. Riza jerked her head towards Ed and Roy and he realized she wanted to leave the racers to fight alone.
”I’ll buy you a drink while dancing,” he said, also wanting to leave, offering her his arm. She grasped it and practically dragged him away.
"Why don’t you just ask for help?" Roy asked when they were gone. "You’re not going to learn by yourself." He could already tell that Ed was in one of those I-can-do-it-myself moods.
"No, Colonel-bastard! I can do it! Just give me--" Ed felt Roy’s body come up behind his. He tensed up.
"Relax," Roy said quietly. "You can’t hit when you’re all tight like this." He slid his hands slowly down Ed’s arms, guiding them to the correct position to hit. Ed shuddered at the contact. If this was Roy’s way of teaching him how to play, he was never going to learn anything. Roy moved Ed’s braid to the other side so he could lean in over Ed’s shoulder.
"Hurry up," Ed said, trying to sound mad but his voice wavering slightly.
"Don’t rush me. I like to take things slow." Roy said. Ed rolled his eyes inwardly. ‘Yeah, and that’s why you’re the fastest driver around.’ ”Spread your legs out a little more."
Ed turned around and gave Roy a ‘what the hell’ look. Roy sighed, "Chill, it gives you more balance. Just do it."
Ed sighed and did as told. "Now what?"
"Bend over a little more. Keeps you at eye level with the ball."
Ed did as Roy said, leaning over the table. God, did Roy have to be so damn close? How could he concentrate when his body was suddenly reacting to Roy’s? Ed could feel the unwanted tension building in his groin. Roy placed his left arm on Ed’s hip and leaned over his back, bringing his body in contact with Ed’s.
"Now just aim, and keep your eyes on your target," he whispered into Ed’s ear. Ed tried his best to listen. Really, he did. But he couldn’t help noticing the way the older man was toying with the top of his pants. Roy knew what he was doing to Ed. He knew he was making Ed aroused. Ed felt that unwelcome feeling of heat intensify as Roy slipped his thumb into the waistband of Ed’s leather pants.
"Move it through your fingers like this," Roy said, running the pool stick back and forth between Ed’s thumb and index finger repeatedly. Ed began to pant as Roy moved in closer, pressing his hardness into Ed’s back. Ed would give anything for him to…. "Now, be careful and make sure you hit the middle," Roy said. Ed’s thought process refused to cooperate, his own erection pressed against the pool table, Roy’s movements causing Ed to rub his hips against the table.
Ed knew Roy wanted him to come. And that was the only thing keeping him from doing it. He dropped the stick and turned around, trying to punch the older man but missed. Roy smirked at him. "What? Can’t handle a simple game of pool?" he asked cruelly.
"You’re an asshole Roy, you know that?"
"I didn’t hear you complaining.”
Ed turned, heading for the door and passed by Winry and Havoc at the bar.
”Where you going, Ed?”
"For a walk," he answered, before stepping into the night air.
**********************************************************************
’Damnit!’ Roy thought, when he saw Ed walk out the door. He sighed and went after the younger man, knowing Ed was probably going to get himself in trouble. When he got outside, he spotted the younger man a few yards away, going to only God knows where. Roy caught up to him.
"Where the hell do you think you’re going, Fullmetal?"
"Geez, can’t anyone get some fresh air without being bothered!?"
"Don’t tell me you’ve turned into an angel now. We both know what kind of guy you are."
Ed turned abruptly to face him, stopping him in his tracks. The younger man was angry, his face glinting in the bright streetlight.
"You don’t know shit about me! So don’t act like you do!"
He turned and started walking but Roy grabbed his waist with both hands and pinned Ed’s body with his to the nearest building.
"That’s what you think," he said, leaning down to brush his mouth against Ed’s. Ed smelled the beer on Roy’s breath, smelled the sweat on his skin. He wet his lips, wanting anything the lead racer had to give.
Three shots rang out, startling the two.
"What the hell was that?!" Ed asked frantically. The sound of maniacal laughter followed by the sound of motorcycles filled the air, bringing Roy out of his glazed state. ‘Oh, shit!’ He looked down the street, trying to remember where he parked. He grabbed Ed’s arm, leading the blond to his car.
"What the fuck is happening!?"
Roy didn’t answer, only telling Ed to get in once they reached his ride. When they were both strapped in, Ed looked at Roy with questioning eyes.
”Greed,” Roy said, before taking off.
