1 hour earlier.
"Man! Too bad the guys didn't stick around," Tyson turned off the movie, then turned on lamp. "That was some freaky stuff."
Unsure of how to respond, Zeo chooses silence.
"I'm gonna shower. I'll leave the bath water nice and hot for you."
'I love this country's tradition of sharing soaking water.' Zeo smiles privately from the sensory overload. He thought it was weird, back when he'd first learnt about it.
In Japan it is customary to share bathing water. One first scrubs off the dirt from their body in the space provided for getting clean, then with the showerhead you rinse thoroughly, afterwards you take time to just relax in a nice hot tub of water. Then, the next person goes. Though the soaking water is the same, there is no dirt or germs.
Zeo wasn't wild about it at Kenny's house, choosing to forego a bath altogether. But now.. praise the Gods!
"Thanks." He replied.
Zeo cleaned Tyson's bedroom of the wrappers, half eaten slices of pizza and candies. He stuffed it all into a pile making sure to make as much noise as possible, so the room owner knows what he's doing. And as he passed through the hall a few times, Zeo, once finished, quietly snuck back the last time and paused. He can hear movement on the other side of the sliding door. Tyson wasn't yet submerged, judging by the telltale sound of a wash rag slipping and sliding and slapping about.
Granger's visitor carefully slid the door open, just at a crack. His jaw dropped in awe of the vision before him. Tyson is completely naked! Obviously. But the beauty of the moment is that he has his head down washing his hair. Removing his cellphone from his pocket, Zeo opened the camera setting it to video. He held the phone steady recording every bend and arch of his beloved's perfect body, every sweep of his hands through the Navy mass of hair. Swallowing his salvation, Zeo put away the phone when Tyson was through. He would certainly spot the crack in the door when going to the tub. Zeo won't risk being seen.
The door was slid quietly but quickly back to closed, and he stealthily wanders back to Tyson's bedroom.
'He's a god!' He held his heated cheeks. 'I thought soccer players have a swimmer physique. He's…' remembering the familiar, though not to the HD, 4K degree he's just seen, imagery, Zeo touched under his nose as if to check for blood. Surely his pressure had skyrocketed. Nope. He's clean. He suddenly heard Dragoon in the yard outside from the window. 'What? Are you an interest sniffing mutt or something?'
Speaking of smell, he suddenly remembered leaving a little something behind when he was cleaning. He wasn't sure if the half-eaten candy was going to be finished, so he left it where it was on top of the television stand. Now, he's fairly certain it's just trash.
'I don't wanna walk all that long way to the garbage bin.' Picking up the candy bar, he tossed it out the window.
Zeo was grabbing the bedspread when Tyson entered his room.
"All your's."
'I'm hoping it's sooner than later.'
…..
Zeo quietly hissed in pleasure as he tugged languidly at his member with the wash rag. He practically bit through the skin of his arm, that's in his mouth to muffle the sounds. Between the video and the very bathwater being Tyson's the dam was well ready to burst, no coaxing necessary.
He had tears in his eyes hearing the small refreshed sound come from Tyson as he straightened up to begin rinsing his hair. How can anyone so perfect walk the earth? There must have been a huge error made to allow such an Angel to live and breathe amongst lowly humanity. His breathing picked up as the video replayed. Not much longer…
He practically sobbed out his release. Okay. So he'd spend his satiated state cleaning out the tub. It was better than having Tyson's grandfather come in and see it. And he could use the time also to calm down from any repeat in heightened emotion.
And once that was out of the way, he returned to Heaven and his awaiting Angel.
….
"Hey, Z', if that movie were real," Tyson is slipping on his night shirt, unaware he's being watched. "Who do you think Diana would get first, once I've turned out the lights?" Walking over to his bed, he flopped onto it, laying back with his arms spread.
'Obviously me; because I'd protect you, not matter what, Tyson.' Zeo shrugged his shoulder. "I think me. I don't run as fast as you can."
"True." Tyson laughed. "Although, Dragoon has yet to catch you, so you're not exactly a slug."
Zeo chuckled.
"I would hope I was brave enough to move; I think fear would keep me rooted in place." He sat up and shuddered in exaggerated fear. "Can you imagine just seeing some lanky thing pop up in the dark?" Leaping onto the spare bed, he shouted. "Boo!"
Putting his crush in a headlock, Zeo wrestled him to the mattress. "Take this, bastard ghost."
Expertly getting free, he reversed them so that Zeo is pinned to the bed. "Now what?"
"Umm... I surrender."
"Ahahaha! That's cute." He kissed Zeo on the cheek. "Ghost don't care about that. "I surrender"," he mimicked. "The guys'll love that."
'He kissed me...' He can't breathe.
"Zeo?" Moving off of him, he asks. "You alright? You look like you've really seen a ghost." Nervous, he glanced up at the ceiling where his friend's wide-eyed vacant gaze is set, he expected to see some pale ghoul with stringy black hair. Japan is a very haunted country; why wouldn't his house contain a spirit or two? Smiling, he says. "I get it. Time to wake up, Snow White." Leaning over his budding friend, this time he kissed him on the lips. Just a peck.
That did it. Zeo's eyes closed. He was in pure bliss.
"Hn," chuckled Tyson, moving to his own bed to lie down. "Guess I'm not a handsome prince." Turning off the light, he says. "Night, Zeo."
'He loves me. Tyson loves me!' He screamed with glee for ten minutes in his head, before sleep eventually fell over him.
Zeo opened his eyes and gasped at the sight before him. 'He's so close.' Reaching out, he touched Tyson's cheek. 'He's so warm.'
Tyson drew an audible breath in through his nose; Zeo withdrew his hand from the danger zone. Although, he wasn't entirely sure as to why he should be worried, Tyson kissed him. That means he's interested and wants to date. Right? If only he could be sure. After all, he could have been just goofing around. But, who messes around like that? It had to be intentional. He was testing Zeo, to see if he was into it or would shoved him away.
Granger's arm slid around Zeo's torso, his hand rest gently upon his back. Zeo's breathing began to pick up. He sounds like he's run a long marathon, didn't stop for a breather but went onto the next routine, and is now feeling the effects of fatigue. He was about to whisper his beloveds name when said person moved closer and pressed his lips to Zeo's.
Zeo felt his pulse race. His head was spinning as his blood flow worked overtime to keep him from fainting due to a lack of oxygen. And it was such a thorough kiss. Tyson's tongue met with his and they sparred like the Kendo pro that Granger is; there was no place of pleasure that his skill could not find. It was when a little moan tumbled free in the slight departure for a breath that Tyson's eyes opened. He looked pleased or maybe dazed; Zeo could not tell. But, he noticed the smile, there was no denying that.
"Ya know.. looking at you from this close, you're really good-looking, Ze'."
"I…" he couldn't speak to properly form the words he wants to say. 'He thinks I'm attractive.' His elated mind thought.
"You don't have to reply to compliments. Just take it."
Zeo gulped over a dry lump in his throat at the choice of words. He felt a shiver down his spine at the touch caressing his cheek. Leaning towards him, he kissed him again only not as rough or deeply. It was tender and sweet.
"I can't stop thinking about Rei, and how afraid he must have been." Confesses Granger, sadly. "All alone, then to have some creep come along and kill him. How can anyone be so cruel?"
"I don't know."
Tyson remained quiet. "I'm glad that you stayed over. It's nice to have someone to talk to right now."
"Do you wanna talk?" He hoped not. He can feel his stomach knotting over what he'd done.
"No. I'm gonna get some sleep. Night, again."
"Good night." He didn't fall asleep, he remained awake stroking Tyson's hair. Tending to his feelings was far more important than sleeping.
That morning, around 7 am.
"Tysoooon!" boomed a loud voice from the hall, and steadily elevating in volume as the shooter approached the bedroom. "Tyson, he's.." Momentarily stunned by the entangled bodies, he continued on and walked farther into the bedroom. "This is no time to bask in 'Mattress Hokey-Pokey', you gotta get up!"
Drowsy, Tyson mumbled from his daze. "Mattress what?" Looking down at the anchor around him, he pulled himself free from his slumbering guest's grasp. "What're you shouting at me for? It's summer break," resuming his sleeping position, he planned on going back. "So give me a break and scram until breakfast."
"Dawg, it might interest you to know that your dog flew the coop last night or earlier."
"Huh? Dragoon?" Sitting up, expression going from tired to concerned, he asked. "What do you mean? Where is he?"
"Don't know, so wake you lazy butt up, and help me look. You too, kiddo," he says to Zeo. "Rise and shine!"
"You don't have to yell, I'm up, I'm up." Complained the guest. He was having very pleasant and dampening dreams. What a night, just to have to wake up to this freak show morning. "What happened?" he asked only when seeing Tyson racing for the door.
"Dragoon isn't in the yard, he got out of the gate somehow. We gotta go look for him; help me, Ze'."
"Alright, I'll help." He didn't just rush out in his borrowed pajamas. He changed back into what he wore yesterday.
The three man search party looked high and low, calling around to friends and neighbors asking if they've seen the missing pet wandering around. So far, none had.
"Does he have tags?" Zeo asked when meeting up with Tyson back at the house.
"Of course he does! I know the laws!"
Waving his hands as a white flag, Zeo explains himself. "I was just wondering, in case I have to describe him to someone, because the tags were removed."
"You.. D'you think someone might have stolen him? Who would do that?"
Shaking his head, though his words don't match up, he says softly. "The same people who feed strays and keep them, sometimes they don't care if it's someone else's pet. If it's cute or cool in their eyes, wandering around… what's to stop them?"
Tyson's shoulders sagged. Dragoon is probably the coolest dog in the world. Why wouldn't someone take him? Walking over to the porch, he dropped with the weight of his despair. First Rei, now Dragoon. Was he cursed? Who next? Max? Kai? Ozuma? Maybe even the Chief!
"Zeo, I'm going back out.."
"Sshhh! Did you hear that?"
"No. What?"
He held up a finger for silence, just a minute. Then it hit their ears, very faintly, a whimper. They looked at each other then dropped their head between their legs to peer under the porch. There in the dirt, so far back it was hard to tell what they were looking at, but a heavy lift of a tail revealed Dragoon. A very hurt Dragoon.

Zeo stood from the leather seat, that, in the heat of the veterinarian's office, was threatening to adhere to the back of his legs. What was taking so long? 'We did everything we could, but, the dog is dead. Get it together people.' He was almost hit by the door he was pacing in front of, when it opened up and the veterinarian came out.
"Tyson Granger?"
Looking frazzled, Tyson stood up. "Is Dragoon ok? He is, right? When can I see him?"
Zeo held his breath. 'There's no way he survived. That was a couple king-sized candy bars. Milky Way, at that.'
It was no wrong mistake that he'd dropped the leftover chocolate out of the window; however, Dragoon, in Zeo's eyes, sealed his own fate by choosing to eat it instead of leaving it for the people-food excited bugs.
"I'm afraid there was too much Theobromine in his system, it arrested his heart."
"What is that? Some kind of illness? Was Dragoon sick, but I didn't know it?"
"I'm afraid, Dragoon, got his first and last taste of chocolate. Theobromine is an ingredient found in the substance, it's toxic to both dogs and cats."
"Chocolate? Where'd he get chocolate from?" Tyson sat heavily in the creaking leather-bound seat.
"The gate was open, little homey. I think he might have slipped out and ate it from the trash or on the street."
Zeo Zagart felt blessed. He was waiting for Tyson to point his finger, and accuse him of any scenario he could dream up. But Ryo Granger to the rescue with a tale already made up. "But, he was at the house, under the porch." He sounded innocent, as he tried to sway the cut-and-dry out. Nothing says "innocent" like contradiction.
"Most dogs know to go home when they're in trouble." The elderly Granger explained. "He wandered back home, saw nobody was around, then went to a spot he thought would ease his pain."
"Dragoon," Tyson sniffles, "loved it under there. Especially in the summer." Wiping his tears, he released an audible sob or two. "When can I take him? To put him to rest…" He asked the doctor.
"We'll turn his body over to you as soon as you'd like it." Replied the man, a grim expression on his face. Telling bad news is never easy. Especially when it involves the death of a loved one.
Grandpa Granger, with the help of a younger neighbor, dug a hole for the deceased pooch. Tyson sat on the porch, head down, shoulders slumped forward. He looked like a deflated car selling balloon-man. Zeo remained at Tyson's side, caressing his back; he's completely immersed in the light muscle definition, even through the shirt fabric.
"Zeo," Tyson says softly. "thanks for staying by my side. It's helping."
"Really? I'm glad to know that. I thought you might want me to leave." He left out the "Like before" part.
"Not at all. None of the other guys even bothered showing up, even after I'd texted and told them where we'd be. And that Dragoon was found…" He left out the implied "Too late". Drawing in a breath, he turned away from watching his grandfather and neighbor dig a grave, to look at his companion.
Zeo looked back, wondering what to do? He's never had someone stare at him before. "What?" he had to ask, the staring was killing him softly, in the heart and lower. Those beautiful deep Cacao-brown, with sadness misting them, looking at him with such a helplessness. "Tyson?"
Leaning over to him, he wrapped his arms around him and kissed him, so tenderly on the cheek. "Don't you leave me, okay?" He gave him a hug.
'Never.' Zeo gave him a clunky nod. 'I love you, Tyson. I'll never leave your side.'
After a brief funeral, Tyson gave his parents the bad news. They were heartbroken, and wished their son well. Zeo waited around at the Granger home, until his driver showed up to retrieve him for his music class.
"You wanna come with me?" asked Zagart to his friend. "I just have to make a quick stop at home to change."
"I mean, I guess it would be a nice distraction." Tyson looked at the driver, who was impatiently looking at his watch. "Okay. I'll come along."
Zeo cocked his head when noticing that his beloved's gaze lingered on the trash bins, looking, no doubt, for a tear in the bag. He won't find one. And there are no wrappers. He was sure to be very clean with the trap he'd set up. No mistakes. It was the perfect crime. He even knew where Dragoon was as he and the Grangers searched the area. He spotted the stupid mutt when he slipped out to open the gate. Dragoon whimpered, but did little else as he retreated.
"Very good, sirs." Said the driver glad to be getting little resistance.
It was a nice ending to a tragic morning. Zeo was able to distract his beloved with beautiful music. And, he supposed, just as his playing had captivated the late Rei Kon, it must have done the same to Tyson. Shortly after practice had ended, Tyson Granger, his beloved, asked him out to a movie.
