Chapter 7 "Sword Play. "
The slender black encased figure moved over to sit upon a rock. He lifted a leg and slipped the long boot off.
"Oh phew, what a stench." gasped Wufei. "Don't you ever wash your socks?"
"Fresh water is very scarce on a ship my friend." came the reply as the dark figure shook the small rocks and rubble from within the boot before replacing it and removing the twin.
Wufei studied the man for a moment before speaking again. "I do not want to pry but you don't happen to have forked eyebrows under that mask do you?"
The dark clad figure looked up. "You always start conversations that way?"
Wufei sighed. "My father was slaughtered by a man with forked eyebrows."
The slender black figure put the boot down and reached for his mask, pulling the eye holes up just enough to show his eyebrows.
Wufei smiled. He hadn't really expected this lithe figure to be the one he was looking for. For starters he appeared to be too young and a bit shorter, also his hair was longer and not to mention his body more toned and muscular and sexy and... "Whoa there Wufei." his conscience said. "Remember Trowa?" "Trowa who?" "Trowa... elfie... you know...tall uni banged and green eyed... chains and whips ring a bell???" "Oh that Trowa...." Wufei shook his head and tried to shove his conscience back where it belonged.... somewhere in the void of his brain space.
The black figure replaced his boot and instantly the air became fresher.
"My father was a great sword maker, when the forked eyebrow man heard this, he requested a special sword be made for him. Needless to say my father, he took on the job." Wufei stood and removed his sword from the sheath at his side and placed it carefully into the hands of the slender youth. "My father, he slaved for a year before the sword was complete."
The dark one took the sword gingerly and turned it over in his hand. The blade glistened in the sunlight, edge honed to razor sharpness, the hilt and hand guard was beautifully carved with intricate filigree and sparkled with the jewels set into the metal. He weighed it in his hand, the lie and balance just perfect. "Very nice, I have yet to see its equal." said the husky voice as he passed the sword back to its owner.
Wufei took the sword and slipped it lovingly back into its scabbard. He caressed the hilt for a moment before continuing. "The forked eyebrows returned and demanded it... but at one tenth of the original price." Wufei shrugged his shoulders. "Naturally, my father, he refused." Wufei looked a little sad as he became lost in his memories. "Without speaking a word the forked eyebrows ran my father through the heart..." Wufei lowered his eyes. "I loved my father so naturally I did the only honorable thing there was to do..."
"You ran like shit?" asked the dark one.
Wufei glared. "NO! I wanted justice to be served so I challenged my fathers murderer to a duel."
The silence was thick.
"I failed."
The silence grew thicker.
"He let me live, but not without giving me this..." Wufei's hands went to his collar and he pulled the material down a little revealing the bronzed skin beneath. There, carved into the soft flesh was the unmistakable mark of a letter *T*.
The dark man managed to let fly a whistle that lightened the air a fraction. " You know you could always get that removed.... I hear they can do wonders with plastic surgery these days." Noticing the glare he was receiving he switched back to what he had really intended to say. "How old were you?"
"I was fifteen years old. Afterwards I continued my study of swords but it wasn't enough. I went further... I discovered the art of sword play and dedicated my life to it." Wufei's eyes held a distant look in them and his voice took on a wistful tone of sadness. "I have trained hard and long so that the next time we meet, I will not lose."
The dark man watched as those black eyes began to shine with more than the usual moisture.
"I will go up to the forked eyebrow man and I will say....." Wufei swallowed hard and a tear escaped to roll down a cheek. Wufei steadied himself, eyes locked on a distant figure only he could see as his voice brought forth the words he had kept deep within his soul... waiting for the day he would get to speak them in revenge of his father.
"I will say.... Hello. My name is Chang Wufei. You killed my father. Prepare to die." The dark eyes shifted once more as memories assaulted the Chinese youth's mind.
The dark figure shifted slightly and cleared his throat, a shiver of dread went up his spine at those softly spoken, yet deadly menacing words. "So you have done nothing but study sword play?"
Wufei's face became relaxed once more and a soft sigh escaped his lips. "It is practice more so of late. You see I cannot find this forked eyebrow man and bedsides there isn't much money to be made in the revenge line, and unemployment payments suck, so I work for Winner to pay the bills."
The slender figure stood up. "Well I certainly hope you find him some day."
Wufei turned to face his opponent. "So you are ready then?"
The slim man shook his arms and wrists to loosen them. "If I am not then it's my own fault. You have been more than fair."
Wufei reached for his sword and unsheathed it as he prepared for the duel. "You seem a pretty decent guy, it will be a shame to kill you."
The black one also reached for his sword. "You also seem like a nice guy too... I hate to die."
Wufei inclined his head in recognition of the compliment. "Then let us begin."
The pair took up their positions, crouched slightly, swords balanced in left hands as they sized each other up. *Clang* Wufei gave a swipe to the head and the black figure dodged with ease. They began to circle each other, eyes watching, searching for the smallest of moves as they sized each other up.
*Cling... Clang*
The dark one lunged forwards returning Wufei's earlier move and Wufei dodged. He smiled. This was going to be fun.
The blades continued to clash against each other, the air rang with the sounds of metal colliding with metal as first one would advance and the other retreat and then the roles were reversed. The deadly dance continued as each allowed their muscles the time to ease into the fight.
*Thrust, block, thrust again, parry, swipe, advance, retreat, thrust, ram....*
Wufei was beginning to enjoy himself. He gave another swipe towards the head of his opponent but instead of from above to below he moved from right to left and spun in time to block a counter move.
The deadly dance moved between the surrounding rocks, neither man able to gain the dominant role as they sparred on amongst the ruins. Wufei allowed a smile to grace his lips. "You're using
Bonetti's defense against me."
*Cling... Clang*
"I found it fitting considering the rocky terrain." replied the dark one.
*Cling.... Clang*
The duel moved further up onto higher rocks.
"Naturally, you'd think I'd attack with Capo Ferro." Wufei spoke.
The swords clashed yet again.
"Naturally. But I think Thibault cancels out Capo Ferro." teased the black one.
Wufei lunged at the black one's torso but the lithe figure jumped out of reach and back off the rock they had been standing on.
"Not if the enemy has studied his Agrippa...."
"Which I have." Wufei said as he jumped from the rock and clean over the top of his opponent. He landed softly on the earth and the fight continued.
*Lunge, thrust, block, thrust, spin, parry, dodge, thrust...*
"I never thought a sword fight could be so erotic." mused the dark one to himself as they continued to trade steel in the ruins of what once must have been a magnificent castle. He managed to push his opponent into a tight spot... not the sort he would have liked, but then this was a fight after all and no time to be having these sorts of thoughts about his enemy.
Wufei managed to move quickly and get himself out of the tight spot.... He much preferred other tight spots... namely one green eyed elf/man and dueling with swords of a different kind but unfortunately that wasn't here and now but the sudden swipe at his lower torso was. "You're awesome." he panted as he avoided the swipe. He really didn't fancy being circumcised today.
"Thank you. I have worked hard on it." came the reply and the dark one strutted for a moment letting Wufei appreciate the view.
The fight resumed and Wufei was being driven back towards the edge of the cliff. The view was magnificent... the sight over the sea wasn't bad either.
"I admit you are better than I am." Swords clashed again and Wufei started to smile.
"Then why are you smiling?"
*Cling.... Clang...*
"Because I know something you don't know." Wufei continued to smile as blades sliced across each other again.
"And what is that?" The dark one thought the Chinese man looked quite handsome when he smiled.
"I... Am not left handed." Wufei tossed the sword deftly from his left hand to his right and grinned.
Swords met again and it was obvious to the black clad man that he could not compete with that and he found himself being forced backwards and up some stone stairs. "Shame there isn't a bed at the top." he mused silently, "Then we just might get the chance to see how good he really is with that right hand." Owing to his mind being in places it shouldn't the lithe black figure stumbled as he tried to go up the stairs backwards and keep his sword swinging. But still he would not give up and swiped at Wufei's head.
Wufei ducked just in time.
Taking those few seconds of distraction, the slender form pranced up the stairs and posed at the top, daring the Chinese to come and get him.
Wufei didn't wait for a written invitation. If he was offering, then Wufei was sure as hell gonna try taking.
*Cling... Clang...*
"You're amazing!"
"I would expect to be nothing less after the many years I have spent in intense study and training."
*Thrust, parry, block, spar, dodge, thrust...*
"I would like to hear more about this training of yours." The black clad figure was beginning to sweat, and it wasn't from the fighting either.
Wufei continued to push the dark man until he had him cornered on an old stone balcony overlooking the sea. A few rocks spilled over the edge and bounced off the cliffs to plunge into the sea below, showing what would surely happen if one of them was to be unfortunate enough to try abseiling without the rope. Wufei leaned in and pressed his sword against his opponent... lifting his arm he rested the blade of his metal sword against the dark ones throat and licked his lips as he contemplated the position he now had his enemy in. He could think of a few other positions he would like to have him in, but at this particular point he didn't have the benefit of that option.
"There is something I should tell you." The black clothed man moaned as he rubbed against the Chinese.
"Speak!" Wufei ground out, hoping the sensuous man pressed against him was going to tell him what he wanted to hear as he was getting tired of the duel, he just wanted to get it over with so he could get on with more enjoyable playing.
"I'm not left handed either." And with Wufei taken by surprise the mysterious one managed to push him back a little, get in a quick grope, and switch the sword in his hands.
*Cling... Clang... Twirl...."
Wufei's sword flew out of his hand and shot through the air. Wufei watched his disappearing sword and cursed himself for his momentary weakness. He had been thinking about how good that quick feel up of his nether regions had been, and not the duel as he should have been doing.
The dark man stepped closer.... Wufei took a step backwards, turned and jumped. He grabbed hold of the branch of a tree and used the leverage to propel his body to where his sword had landed. He bent over to retrieve it, giving a lovely view to the dark one before straightening up and preparing to duel once more.
With a sigh of appreciation the black clad youth flicked his wrist and his sword sliced through the air to land in the sand... pointy bit buried in the earth as if it was a normal everyday thing for swords to do. It wavered for a moment before standing perfectly vertical and erect, just awaiting the caress of a hand to bring it forth into action once more.
The lithe figure then jumped after Wufei, grabbing at the tree branch and doing a full 360 degree swing before letting go and landing gracefully, knees slightly bent to absorb the impact, by his sword. Straightening up he was proud of the fact that he had knocked back offers to join the Olympic Men's Gymnastics team. The pommel horse involved in the routines having nothing at all to do with his refusal to join, his eyes watered at the memory of *that* little incident and he quickly reached for his sword, drawing his legs together a little more protectively.
Wufei watched, slightly awed by the demonstration of poise, elegance, grace and beauty of his opponents sensuous body and suddenly he wasn't too sure if he could win this fight anymore. Hell... he wasn't at all sure if he wanted to! "Who are you?" he asked.
Wufei thought that if this man was to defeat him he could at least tell him his name.
"Nobody important." came the husky reply.
Wufei persisted though, the voice and the seductiveness contained within those concealing clothes driving him near mad with need. "Please.... I have to know."
A smirk appeared on those luscious lips. "Get used to disappointment."
Wufei sighed. "Story of my life." he muttered.
They took up their swords again and the fight resumed.
*Cling.... Clang... thrust, block, parry, duck, thrust, dodge, thrust, spar, thrust, Cling... Clang...*
(See previous fight scene above for more details... this is basically a repeat but a little faster. ;) )
Wufei was panting, all this thrusting and no relief was beginning to get to him, not to mention the swell and ripple of muscle underneath that black shirt playing havoc with his finely tuned body and hormonal system. Determined to end this soon Wufei tried to twirl again and bring his sword around but he wasn't fast enough.
Wufei's eyes opened wide as the sword flashed towards him and he quickly had to block between his legs or suffer early castration. A chuckle came from nowhere and a hand landed on his back pushing him forwards. Quickly he regained his balance and ran forwards to try to gain the upper hand once more.
The slender youth pursued.
Once more they stood upon the rocks that were once a part of a magnificent castle and the fight resumed.
*Cling... Clang...*
Metal stuck metal as moves were made, blocked and dodged.
*Cling.... Clang... Twist... Ping...*
Once more Wufei's sword was ripped from his grasp and flying through the air. Wufei dived after it and managed to catch it before it could hit the ground. "Lucky I got the hilt end." he thought to himself, but his thoughts didn't last long as he was again assaulted by the strong dark man.
The battle continued to rage, now they were standing in what must have been one of the entrances to a grand ballroom or hall.
*Thrust, slice, duck, parry, weave, lunge, thrust...*
The black encased youth fought with vigor, his left hand resting upon an elegant hip as he mimicked the masters of old.
Wufei continued to move back into the former ballroom. The fight intensified and Wufei knew it would soon be over, his stamina wasn't as good as it used to be and he cursed himself for not taking more notice of Trowa when he had complained about it before. But still, he wasn't ready to give up just yet.
"Cling... Clang... block... parry...*
Wufei switched his sword from hand to hand but nothing he did could gain him an inch on his opponent. In desperation Wufei grasped the sword in both hands and lunged at his enemy, swiping and slicing through the air, despairing of ever gaining back the ground he had lost.
The dark one twirled his sword at Wufei and then swiped at the collar concealing the scar, effectively breaking Wufei's concentration.
No sooner had Wufei's concentration lapsed that the sword went flying from his grasp for the third time.
Tired, exhausted and not to mention humiliated at once again being defeated like this, Wufei sank to his knees in submission. "Please. Kill me quickly."
The dark one contemplated the position of his opponent... on his knees, head bowed, chest heaving, sweat running over finely chiseled muscles, at the perfect level of his groin... He shook his head. "Now is not the time for a quickie." he mentally scolded himself. "Too bad though." He walked over and stood behind his captive.
Wufei felt the warmth rolling off the body behind and shivered. His groin tightened a little and he had to suppress the moan he felt rising at the vulnerability of his position. He quietly wondered what his chances were of getting laid before he bit the dust, and then jumped as a tongue licked up the shell of his ear and hot breath caressed his cheek.
Maybe his chances were pretty good after all.
"I would rather destroy one of those remaining windows than destroy such a sensuous, delightful, gorgeous work of art as yourself." The husky voice thick with lust purred. "However, I cannot have you following me..." The dark one gripped the base of his sword then leaned forwards to continue. "As much as I would like to screw that lovely body of yours until you are unconscious with pleasure I'm afraid business comes first and unfortunately this way is much quicker..."
The mysterious one brought the blunt end of his sword down hard against the back of Wufei's head, instantly knocking him out cold.
"Pleasant dreams my friend....I hope they are wet ones for you." And sheathing his sword the dark youth leaned over and placed a sweet kiss to those slightly parted lips before departing the scene and continuing after Heero.
