The Foreign Exchange Student: Chapter 7
"Wu Fei, are you alright?" Duo asked, after he had gotten seated. "I heard the news....."
Wu Fei\'s eyes begin tearing up, "Oh, Duo!" He hugs Duo and begins to cry. "He\'s leaving and I can\'t go with him. He just told me he was going, he didn\'t say that we were breaking up or anything. I hate to be left in the dark!"
"What if he wants to try a long distance relationship?" Trowa asked. "Could you do that?"
"He will be over four-thousand miles away," Wu Fei cried. He wouldn\'t be able to see me often at all, maybe three or four times a year."
"He does have a point, Trowa, sometimes, distance can have a serious toll on a relationship, no matter how in love you are," Quatre added.
"I think," Duo said, "That you, Wu Fei, should do whatever your heart tells you to do. I don\'t want you to make a decision and be somewhere in the future and highly regret the decision you made."
Wu Fei looks up at Duo and smiles, "I can always count on you guys." Wu Fei sits back up in his seat and wipes the tears out of his eyes.
"Oh, by the way, Wu Fei, were going to McDonalds, Quatre wanted to go," Duo informed him.
"Sheesh, I know why too, his mom forced me to eat that tofu garbage when I went over there the other day," Wu Fei added.
"I thought they ate alot of tofu in China?" Trowa questioned.
"That doesn\'t mean I have to like it...." Wu Fei answered, turning away and crossing his arms. He looked out the window of the limo as they traveled across the highway.
"So, Duo," Quatre giggled, "Are you going to show Wu Fei that picture?"
Duo grins, "I will, Quatre."
Wu Fei snaps back into the world again and meets eyes with Duo, "What picture?"
"Oh, I took it the other day, when Trowa and I were peeping in your window.....Gosh, do you have an amazing body!" Duo said sarcastically.
"Maxwell," Wu Fei shouted, "I oughta!"
"It\'s alright Fei-baby," Duo comforted as he handed him the picture.
"Who is this?" Wu Fei asked. "He\'s the hottest Japanese guy I have ever seen!"
Quatre giggled, "He\'s going to be living with Duo, starting tomorrow."
"His name is Heero Yuy, he\'s the foreign exchange student I have been telling you guys about," Duo informed them, grinning smugly. Duo was going to try his hardest to get with Heero.
The limo came to a stop and Manuel came around the side to open the door for them. "You boys have a nice time."
"Thanks Manuel," chimed all the boys at once. They all made their way towards the McDonalds.

"Please buckle your seatbelts, we will be landing in Los Angeles shortly. Current temperature in Los Angeles is eighty degrees," announced the flight attendant.
Heero awoke with a start. He immeadiately buckled his seatbelt. He instantly got nervous. He would be looking eye to eye with Duo in less than an hour. His heart began to beat faster and faster.
John looked over at Heero, "Are you alright, you look a little sick."
"This is actually my first time on an airplane. Plus, I am really nervous," Heero mentioned.
"The Maxwell family could make even the calmest person nervous as ever," John laughed. "It will be alright though, Duo is just fine. I doubt you will be seeing much of his parents. They live in a separate apartement in the same building and they constantly working. Duo barely sees them once a week."
Heero looks down at his feet, "That\'s terrible."
"That\'s the way alot of families are around here. Once their kids are teenagers, they tend to let them care for themselves, but when they are younger, they hire live in nannies to take care of the children. They let strangers raise their children while they go and relax at a spa or go to work and spend most of their lives doing things that don\'t involve their children. Most rich people out here have children for status, that\'s about it."
Heero sighed, "It\'s not like that in Japan. Families are very close. They don\'t do that to each other, yeah, I mean there are a select few that may do that to their fair share of those bad things, but it\'s not a huge thing!"
"Well, there are alot of things that you will have to adjust to in this country. It is very different from Japan. Some Americans even refer to the Japanese culture as a backward society. It\'s just the complete opposite of this country. I wouldn\'t be suprised if you had culture shock for a little while."
"I will be fine," Heero said, looking at John, seeing him eye him. "I am just very nervous about being in a new country and a completely different lifestyle. Everything has changed so quickly and it\'s almost scary."
"We are making our final approach into Los Angeles. Please secure your carry on luggage and prepare for landing," announced the flight attendant.
