Katt: I MIGHT move along the lines of a fight, you never know. ^.~

smokeandmirrors: Why thank you. As you can see, update WAS soon. :) And touching on the Vegeta thing, it was mainly Frieza\'s influence that corrupted him - that means that before hand, he wasn\'t as bad - and, during the series, he made a comment to Goku along the lines of "Cold and hard was the only thing I could be, I wasn\'t allowed to be anything else. That\'s how I survived Freiza."

---------------

A full night\'s recovery within Vegeta\'s bedroom, coupled with what she\'d mentally nicknamed \'Miracle Tea\', had almost completely healed Kaana\'s wounds. She\'d still have a few large bruises here and there, and those would heal in a few hours. Vegeta had fallen asleep in the previously unused second bed, but couldn\'t sleep well, knowing the threat that loomed over Kaana\'s head from his father. He woke every twenty minutes for an hour, watching over her, letting Kaana sleep within the bed she\'d been in the whole time. Neither of them woke when the servants brought in their morning food, however, nor twitched in the slightest when they exited. Normally, the slightest noise would rouse Vegeta, and Kaana wasn\'t the heaviest sleeper in the world, but both had slept far too hard to wake up from the light shuffles and clinks the servants made. Vegeta was far too tired once he finally collapsed from exhaustion, and Kaana was still recovering. Even as the sunrise had come and gone, she slept.

Almost halfway to midday meal, Vegeta was the first to wake up, ironically. He had managed to catch a few hours of solid sleep at almost dawn, but it wasn\'t easy to sleep, knowing he had to be ready to back up his word. His eyes shifted to the sleeping nude figure upon his bed, curled up in his sheets. He couldn\'t help feeling protective of her; his mother had made sure to drill into him at a young age that women were almost goddesses, and it also added into it that she, in the eyes of everyone else, belonged to him - so he must protect her like a possession - even though he didn\'t really believe he owned her. He still felt as though it was his DUTY to keep her safe.

Vegeta stepped quietly over to the food resting on the small table in the middle of the room, and smirked at the fact that there was two of everything. He knew it was for Kaana, but it felt odd that there was a woman in his care to feed. Shrugging, he picked up a knotted bun, and almost missed the single white scroll that had been placed on his tray. Vegeta perked a brow, placed the bun back down once again, and picked up a scroll. Thinning his eyes as he unraveled it, a mildly annoyed expression washed over his face. A low growl bubbled through his lips, which shortly burst into a deeper, more angry one. The sound managed to rouse Kaana, who sleepily blinked and looked over to him.

"...\'geta? Hmm?" her sleepy voice questioned. Vegeta crushed the scroll in his hand, and tossed it aside.

"BASTARD! That\'s how he\'s going to do it!" he shouted, the tone a very dark and demonic one. He didn\'t even bother leaving through the door; instead, he powered up, and flew straight through the small glass window that Kaana had previously been peering through. Kaana blinked and shuffled to the window, but Vegeta was long gone. Rubbing her eyes, Kaana ambled her way to the crumpled piece of paper, and painstakingly unraveled the page. To herself, she read:

"Prince of Bejitasei, son of the King:

You have been summoned to appear before the council on this day of the Sun\'s love at your earliest convenience not past three weeks. You may prepare in this time, but be aware if you fail to appear within this time before the time passes, you will be held in contempt of the council and all rights to the throne will be renounced. You may perform any subsequent tests at your ready, not past one week between each test. Should your father be slain in this time, so be it not by your hand, you will be awarded the crown by default and will not have to perform these tasks. However, you will rule as a Prince until your first born by wife is of age to become King.

The council has learned of your bed slave, and in light of these developments, you will be required to perform additionally required tasks pertaining to the woman in order to pass. If we deem it worthy, you will be bound by it." Kaana paused, perking a brow. He will be bound? By what? To what? She didn\'t understand, but perhaps she should ask. Shrugging, she kept reading.

"In order to pass the test of the Crown you must:

1. Pass a test of battle, three rounds.

2. Prove you can handle common situations, as given to you by the council.

3. Prove you can control men and women alike.

4. Prove you are capable of doing your duties with your woman, as judged by a member of the council.

5. Prove capability to kill; the council will select a peasant for you to slay.

You must not:

1. Hire anyone to kill any member of the council, royalty, or elites in order to sway the results.

2. Financially bribe or threaten the life of any person involved, unless they are to be slain.

3. Replace any person involved--" Kaana stopped reading, and frowned. This was a big deal, why? Kaana didn\'t understand. It seemed straight forward. Sure, it meant he had to sleep with her while being watched, and the thought twisted her gut, but if those things were all there were to pass, why was it a big deal? She wanted to ask, but Vegeta was nowhere in sight, and she couldn\'t leave. Then, a thought occurred to her. Stepping to the bedroom door, she peeked her head outside, spotting a guard standing beside the door.

"Back inside with you." he said simply, and moved to push her back in.

"I understand," she spoke, tugging her head back a little to dodge the motion; "But, I was hoping you could send for Tonni. I need to speak with her."

"Certainly." he replied, and pointed to a servant who was standing a wayse away, wiping down a wall. "You. Get Tonni." the woman nodded, and skitted off like a scared cat.

"Now. Back inside with you." Kaana nodded, and retreated with a frown. Maybe she would have the answers.
