Wufei stared at the dappled ceiling, hands behind his head and ankles crossed. He'd debated long and hard over what to do next. They were planning on going out to some club or bar that night. He wasn't sure how to go about letting Trowa know he wouldn't be opposed to his advances anymore.
He supposed, the easiest thing to do was to allow whatever Trowa tried. He frowned. Well... depending. He wasn't ready for anything like what he'd seen on the Internet just yet, but he wanted to be able to touch Trowa and he wanted the other man to touch him.
He slid from the bed when his cell rang and pulled it from the charger. “Hello, mother.”
“Wufei, how are you? I haven't spoken to you in so long.”
He sighed and sat on the edge of the bed. “We talked two weeks ago.”
“Well, we used to talk every day. How is everything going?”
“Fine. The classes are easy.”
“What about friends? Last time we spoke you said you had found some guys to spend free time with.”
“Yeah, they've pretty much adopted me. They're good guys.”
“You're not doing anything illegal are you?”
He rolled his eyes. “Of course not. How have you been?”
“I'm all right. What about girls? Have you met any you like?”
He chewed his lip. 'Yeah,' he thought, 'unfortunately 'she's' a 'he', though.' “No, I'm here to study, not meet girls. Besides, it wouldn't matter if I did. Father will make me marry whoever he picks.”
“He's trying to do what's best for you.”
He snorted. “No, he's doing what's best for him. It's always about him.”
“Wufei, don't say such things.”
“It's time someone did,” he muttered.
“What's gotten into you?”
He stood and paced the room. “He wanted me to learn more about the world, and I have. I've learned that just because you have money, it doesn't mean you have it better. I've learned that there are better ways to get things done than treating those under you like they're beneath you. I've learned that it doesn't necessarily take having the same blood to be a family. And that you can't judge people by their appearance... because sometimes people can appear frightening and dangerous only to turn out kind and gentle,” he finished softly.
His mother was silent for several seconds. “Oh, Wufei, what have you done?”
He frowned. “Nothing.”
“It sounds like you love whoever you were talking about just then.”
He took a slow breath, praying his next words came out calm. He never was very good at lying to her. Anyone else and he didn't have a problem, but when it came to his mother, he just couldn't seem to do it believably. “It isn't like that. We're just friends.”
“Are you sure?”
He leaned his side to the wall. He was attracted to Trowa and he liked him, but he didn't know if he'd go so far as to say he loved him. But... “No,” he whispered.
“Who is it?”
“I... I don't... it isn't-”
“Just tell me his name.”
Obsidian eyes widened and his mouth worked soundlessly before he finally found his voice. “Mom? What are you saying?”
She sighed. “A mother knows her child. I've suspected for years. So has your father.”
Which confirmed his theory that his father had kept knowledge from him for fear that he was a homosexual. “Then it was stupid for him to send me out of the house before he had me married off. Didn't he realize in a school this size that there was bound to be some gays?”
“He thought you'd be too scared of him to act on anything.”
He clenched his teeth and did something he never would have believed himself capable of. He hung up on her. He threw his phone on the bed and went through his closet to find something to wear. He wanted to look good. He chewed his lip. All his clothes were the same. He sighed and pulled out a pair of khakis and a red silk button up shirt before going to the showers.
******Duo released a low whistle from his lean over the hood of Trowa's SUV. Emerald eyes followed his gaze and Trowa's chest tightened. Wufei was moving down the steps from the dorms and heading toward them. The first few buttons of his shirt were undone and his hair was loose, blowing softly in the breeze. When he'd first come to the school, he'd kept his hair back in a tight pony tail, but lately, he'd been wearing it down more often and Trowa wondered if the Chinese man knew how much he liked his hair.“Earth to Trowa.”
He tore his eyes from Wufei and looked to a smirking Duo. “You're staring. Think you can keep your hands off him tonight?”
He turned to lean his back to the driver's side door. “I'm not sure what I'm going to do.”
Quatre frowned. “What are you talking about? It's obvious there's something between the two of you.”
He shook his head and looked to the blond. “I feel like a pedophile or something.”
Duo quirked an eyebrow. “He's only a year younger than you.”
“In age, but... I don't know.” He shoved his hands in his pockets and closed his eyes. “I don't want to taint him.”
Duo shook his head and flicked his cigarette. “Trowa, you're not a bad guy. You're one of the best I know. You aren't gonna taint him.” He grinned to Wufei as he neared the SUV. “Lookin' good there, princess.”
Wufei sighed. “When are you going to stop calling me that?”
He shrugged. “When it stops amusing me, I guess.”
“Are we ready to go?”
“Waitin' on Heero.”
A few minutes later, said man came up from one of the classes buildings. “Zechs has some meeting he has to go to; he said he'd meet us there when it's over.”
Trowa nodded and got in the driver's seat. Quatre and Duo took the middle while Heero got in the back. Wufei climbed into the passenger side and buckled his seatbelt. “So, what is this place we're going to?”
“Sandra's. It's a nice club.”
“Ah.” He looked at Trowa out of the corner of his eyes. There was something off. Normally Trowa made a show of checking him out, but the man hadn't even looked at him since he reached the SUV. It seemed he was purposely avoiding looking at him.
“Everything all right?”
Trowa glanced over. “Yeah. Why?”
He frowned. How exactly did you ask someone why they weren't staring at you like they usually did? “Never mind.”
Trowa watched briefly as Wufei's hands fidgeted in his lap. “What's wrong, Wufei?”
He clasped his hands and shook his head. “It's nothing.”
Duo leaned over the back of Wufei's seat. “Hey, aren't you bored up here with Mr. ‘Talks a lot not’?”
A fine black brow raised. “Better than in the back with a pervert.”
“Hey, who you calling a pervert?”
Quatre chuckled. “I believe he was referring to you.” Duo stuck his tongue out at his lover and he rolled his eyes. “Very mature, Duo.”
“You expect different from me?”
Quatre grabbed his braid and tugged him back into his seat. “Put your seatbelt on.”
“Hey, that's not a leash, you know.” He did as directed and glanced to the back seat. “You asleep back there?”
“How could anyone sleep with your constant yapping?”
He frowned. “Why are you so pissy anyway? Missing Zechs?”
“No, dipshit.”
“Then what is it?” He rubbed the tip of his nose with his forefinger. “Come to think of it, I haven't seen you pop one pill in a couple of weeks.”
He ground his teeth. “I haven't.”
“That's great! Are you quitting?”
“No. My grades were slipping so I cut some stuff out.” He shoved out of the vehicle as Trowa parked and made his way to the front of the line outside the club, instantly let in.
Wufei frowned as he slid out of the car. “How'd he do that?”
Trowa smirked. “He's a regular here. We'll get in quick, too.” They reached the door and the doorman waved all of them through but paused on Wufei.
“ID.”
He rolled his eyes and began to pull out his wallet, but Trowa touched his arm. “He's fine, Nick.”
The man nodded and waved him in. “Do I really look that young?”
Trowa smirked slightly. “Yeah. Until you scowl, at least. Then you don't look quite as young.”
“Depends on the scowl,” Quatre countered as they slid into the curved booth Heero was sitting at. “If he's really angry, he looks closer to his age. If he's pouting, it doesn't really help.”
“Thanks,” he muttered as a server came to the booth.
Wufei pursed his lips as Trowa ordered something for both of them and she moved to the others. He leaned toward the man. “It's one thing to drink at a party, but I could get in trouble here.”
He shrugged. “If you want the truth, Quatre and I are the only ones of legal age to drink. Duo is younger than you.”
“How does... wait, what?”
Trowa nodded. “He skipped a couple of grades in middle school. He just turned nineteen before this semester started. Heero will be legal in a couple of weeks.”
All but Heero and Quatre ordered alcoholic drinks. Wufei sighed but managed to finish off his drinks as they were ordered without too much fuss. Duo set his empty beer down, the second of the night, and waved to the server for more. “Anyone else need anything?”
Wufei finished the last of his Jack and Coke. “Yeah.”
The girl nodded and went to the bar. Duo looked back to the Chinese man who was reclining in the corner of the booth, one arm hooked up and behind his head. It had taken over two months for him to really relax around them, but slowly he was emerging from the shy guy they met into a confident man who was understanding more about himself and the world around him.
“Hey, Fei.”
“Huh?”
“You ought to get your tongue pierced.”
He raised an eyebrow and thanked the server as she set his drink down. “Why would I do that?” He sipped his drink. “What's the purpose of it anyway?”
He grinned. “It does wonders for oral sex.”
He flushed slightly and guzzled his whiskey and coke. “Is sex all you think about?”
He shook his head. “Not at all. I think about food and sleep, too. And sometimes homework.”
Heero smirked. “And don't forget beer.”
“Anyway, I got a friend who'll do it half-price. Jen's great, she's done all my piercings.”
Trowa watched Wufei out of the corners of his eyes as the Chinese man tilted his head to the side. “Are you going to harass me about it until I agree?”
“It is a distinct possibility.” He took a swig of beer only to choke on it a moment later.
“All right. I'll do it.”
Even Trowa's eyes widened on that one. “What?”
He shrugged and dropped his arm to stretch over the back of the booth. “My father wanted me to experience new things.” He said flippantly before looking down into his drink, mood sobering. “I've been doing a lot of thinking lately. He's been trying to force me into a mold for years. He wants me to be strong, stern, cruel, and too many other unpleasant things to mention. He wants me to be like him.”
His brows drew together. “I don't want to be him. I don't even like him.”
Quatre took a slow breath. “What are you going to do?”
He chewed his lip. “I'm not sure yet, but... I don't want to take over the business or marry whoever he picks out.”
Trowa rested his cheek on his fist. “I know what you should do.”
He raised his eyes to meet emerald. “What?”
“Get your books published.”
He ran his hand through his loose hair. “I don't know. They're probably not good enough.”
“Let me read them.”
They held gazes for a long moment before Wufei nodded slowly and smiled shyly. “All right.”
Trowa downed his drink, forcing back the sudden heat that washed over him at that smile. “I'll be back.”
Wufei watched him leave and sighed. Quatre tilted his head to the side, wondering at the soft expulsion of breath. “Is something wrong?”
He looked to the blond. “He's acting strange.”
Quatre braced his elbows on the table and rested his chin on the back of his clasped hands. “What do you feel for him?”
He blushed. “I don't think this is the place to talk about that.”
“What's wrong with here?” Duo asked.
“Not everyone likes to talk about personal matters in a public place with lots of people,” Heero pointed out.
Duo shrugged but let it go. “So, when do you want to get your tongue pierced?”
“How long does it take to heal?”
“A few days.”
Wufei thought it over. “I'll wait for fall break.”
“You're not going home?” Quatre asked, somewhat surprised.
“My parents will be gone on a business trip so there'd be no point. What about you guys?”
“We always stay over breaks and holidays.” Duo grinned. “The dorms can be really fun with so few people.”
Wufei glanced over as Zechs moved up to the booth and he got out so the blond could slide in beside Heero.
“What took you so long?”
He flagged down a server. “Long Island.” She nodded and he dropped his forehead to the table. “Shoot me, please.”
Heero frowned. “What happened?”
“I'm being sabotaged.”
“What?”
“My report, that I know I left on Treize's desk with the others, somehow, supposedly, never made it to his hand. He gave me a zero.”
“He can't do that!” Duo protested.
“Well he did.”
Heero's bottle creaked as his fingers tightened. “Has he done anything else?”
“He made a snide comment that was a double entendre insinuating I was easy in front of the class.”
Trowa returned to the table with a fresh drink as the server brought Zechs' iced tea. “What's up?”
“Treize is screwing with Zechs,” Heero answered in almost a growl.
Zechs raised up and looked at Heero with a frown. “Why are you so mad?”
“Because he gave you up. Right now, you're mine and no one fucks with what's mine.”
Pale blue eyes narrowed. “I'm not your possession.”
“I didn't say I owned you. You agreed to our arrangement. For the semester, that means I'm yours, too.”
Zechs took a long pull from his drink and leaned toward Heero. “Is that right?”
“Yes.”
He pressed his lips to Heero's ear and whispered low enough so only he could hear. “If that's true, do me a favor.”
Heero shivered as soft, full lips and hot breath caressed his ear. “What?”
“Let me take you.”
He jerked away and stared at the blond. “Were you drinking before you came here? Because you must be drunk if you think I'll agree to that.”
“Have you ever done it before?” He pursed his lips, the long silence giving Zechs his answer. “Did you like it?” he whispered quietly.
“That's beside the point.” He glared at the blond before looking away.
Duo shook his head. “What are you two arguing about?”
“None of your business.”
“Come on, guys, we came here to have fun,” Quatre said.
Heero sat back and folded his arms over his chest. “Fine.”
Zechs sighed. “I didn't know it'd make you mad.”
“Don't worry about it.”
Duo threw his arm over Quatre's shoulder. “Wanna dance?”
The blond finished off his drink and nodded, pulling Duo from the table. Zechs looked to Heero and the Asian smirked. He rolled his eyes and followed Heero to the dance floor.
Wufei chewed his lip, cupping his hands around his glass as he watched the couples on the floor. There were girls with girls, girls with guys, and guys with guys. It seemed no one cared who you were with so long as you were happy. He watched as Duo and Quatre's dance quickly moved from innocent swaying to something a little more erotic.
The blond's chest was pressed tightly to Duo's back. His braid lay over his left shoulder to drape down his chest. His left hand gripped the arm around his waist while the right was hooked up behind Quatre's neck as they kissed.
Their movements were unhurried and something in Wufei's chest began to hurt as they pulled away. They shared an intimate look that easily showed what they felt for each other. It was a little strange to see so soft an expression on Duo's face, but it exposed how beautiful he really was. The pair seemed made for each other.
Trowa took the opportunity to study Wufei while he was distracted. He was in the middle of a battle with himself. He wanted Wufei more than he'd ever wanted anyone, but he didn't just want his body. He wanted everything. To see Wufei break free of his father. To be there as his books were published and his dreams were fulfilled.
But, at the same time, he was afraid of corrupting the pureness that was the Chinese man. He was innocent and Trowa didn't want to take that away. At first he had, dropping comments to see the horrified blushes come to his face. He'd wanted to watch the delusions fall and see what surfaced. But that was the last thing he wanted now.
Wufei glanced to Trowa and raised an eyebrow at the frown on his face. “What is it?”
Trowa sighed and looked away. “I can't do it,” he said softly.
“Do what?”
“Corrupt you.”
Obsidian eyes widened. “What?”
“It was a game, and it went too far. I never chose a virgin before and I should have backed off when I found out how sheltered you were.”
Wufei sat back. He finally decided to allow the man to pursue him only to be told Trowa was giving up. A short, sarcastic laugh passed his lips as he slid a hand through his hair. He drained his drink.
“I have the worst timing ever,” he muttered.
Trowa looked back to him. “What?”
Wufei waved his empty glass and the server nodded. He looked to Trowa. “What changed your mind?” his words came a little slower as the alcohol affected him.
“I told you, I don't want to corrupt you.”
“You didn't seem to have a problem with that before, so what changed?”
He laid his arms on the table and stared at his hands. “I'm... I think I'm falling for you.”
He pinched the bridge of his nose. “You're falling for me so you're giving up trying to get me? Now that makes no sense.”
“Because if it was just sex, then I wouldn't feel guilty. But I got to know you and I like who you are. I don't want to be the one who changes that.”
He sipped his new drink. “But isn't change part of growing up? I couldn't stay ignorant forever, Trowa. Sooner or later I was going to find out the truth.”
He looked back to Wufei slowly. “What are you saying?”
He licked his lips. It was now or never. “That, I think,” he looked away. “I've been struggling with coming to terms with certain things. I tried to ignore the facts, but they wouldn't leave me alone.”
Trowa held his breath. “What facts?”
“I think I'm... gay.” He looked back to Trowa, face flushed. “And I know I'm attracted to you.”
They held gazes for a long moment and neither was sure who leaned forward first, but slowly they were drawing closer. Wufei's chest rose and fell with heavy breaths of anticipation. Their lips touched softly and a hand slid up into raven locks.
Trowa traced his tongue over Wufei's lips and slid it inside when they parted. The kiss was slow and tentative, Trowa not wanting to move too fast while Wufei was uncertain of his own abilities. The slide of Trowa's tongue caressing his own sent flutters through his stomach.
The first time they'd kissed, Trowa hadn't had the ring through his tongue. Wufei flicked at it and Trowa moaned softly. He moved his arms to wrap them over Trowa's shoulders and felt a hand flatten to the small of his back. He shivered as slender fingers teased through his hair.
******“Oh my.”Duo pulled back from suckling his lover's neck at Quatre's soft exclamation and followed his gaze to the table where Wufei and Trowa were kissing. It was soft and gentle and Duo had to smile.
“Looks like Trowa's out of the game, too.”
“Hm. I just hope Wufei has made up his mind and doesn't bolt.”
The pair pulled away and gazed at each other. Wufei bit his lip and dropped his eyes, whispering something. Quatre and Duo had never seen such a bright smile raise to Trowa's lips before as he cupped Wufei's cheek and said something in return. Onyx eyes raised and the Chinese man instigated another kiss.
“I'd say we're safe from that happening.” He stretched out his hand to tap Heero's shoulder, hooking a thumb toward the table. “See the new development?”
Heero smirked. “About time.”
Duo nodded and glanced back to them new couple who were now talking. “Wanna sit for a bit?”
Quatre gazed at his lover. “Don't tease Wufei, Duo. Accepting that you're gay is a difficult time for people.”
“Wasn't for me.”
He nodded. “I know, but it is for most people, and I'm sure it'll be hard on him considering how hard he's fought it.”
“He has accepted it now. Otherwise they wouldn't have been making out.”
He sighed. “I just don't want him to get embarrassed and flip out or something.”
“But he's cute when he's embarrassed.”
Quatre raised an eyebrow. “Say something and I promise you'll regret it.”
He rolled his eyes and slid into the booth, calling for more drinks. Quatre and Trowa both gave him warning glances as he hooked an arm around Wufei's shoulders and pulled him close to whisper.
“He's a good guy, Fei.”
He smiled softly and nodded. “I know.”
Duo winked and let go. “I guess you'll get to find out the perks to tongue rings sooner than you thought.”
Obsidian eyes widened and his face flamed. Trowa ground his teeth.
Quatre sighed, shaking his head. “Duo?”
“Yes?”
“Do you want sex tonight?” the blond asked sweetly.
He was planning to make an obvious retort to that, but as violet eyes turned to find an edge to his lover's smile he was afraid he'd just made a huge mistake. “Um... yeah.”
“Then we need to pick up some lube on the way home. You'll want to be able to walk tomorrow, I'm sure.”
Trowa's eyes widened, Wufei dropped his face to the table, Duo's mouth flapped like a fish out of water, and Heero howled with laughter.
“Duo, never say you'll never do something again. It seems that's a prelude to you doing it.”
He pursed his lips, glaring at Heero. “You have no room to talk. I didn't start out as a bottom.”
Wide emerald eyes shifted to Heero, a pound came as Wufei banged his head once to the table, and Quatre raised an eyebrow as he looked to the Japanese man.
“You were a bottom?”
Heero stared hard at Duo, ignoring Quatre's question. “How many times do I have to tell you not to bring him up?”
“You need to get over him, Heero.”
He slammed his hands on the table. “You don't understand anything, Duo. He died because of me.”
“What?”
“It wasn't some idle fight. That bastard tried to force himself on me. Solo gave his life, his LIFE, just so another man wouldn't touch me.” His teeth clenched so hard his jaw hurt, anger and pain so acute on his face the others felt the weight of it. “He bled to death in my arms because I wasn't strong enough back then to protect myself.”
“Heero-”
Before he could say more, Heero pushed from the booth and left, Zechs not far behind.
