January: New Year, New Life

10:15 am
Dorothy was waiting for me when I got in today, with a shit-eating grin on her f as as Duo would say. It was frightening. Really scary.
\"He wants to meet your friend.\"
\"Who wants to meet who?\"
\"Heero wants to meet Duo.\"
\"That might not be a good idea.\"
\"Why not? They\'da cua cute couple.\"
\"Dorothy, Duo loves Lena, in his own way, and he really hates Heero, because of all the things Heero\'s done to her over the years.\"
\"He hasn\'t really done anything, seriously. He\'s brushed her off. Turned her down a few times. That\'s all. It\'s not like he\'s hurt her.\"
\"All those little things hurt Lena emotionally. So yes they did hurt her, that\'s why Duo thinks Heero\'s a bastard.\"
\"Not a bastard, just gay.\"
\"He\'s what!?!\"
\"He\'s gay. He likes boys. Hell, he likes pretty boys, just like your friend. But he\'s also really shy, so he needs someone to set him up on dates.\"
\"He doesn\'t like girls?\"
\"Not at all. Never even had a girlfriend.\"
\"Wow, Lena really knows how to pick them.\"
\"Meaning what?\"
\"Meaning, when she first met Duo she had a crush on him. He came out to us a month later.\"
\"You\'re kidding me?\"
\"No, she\'s a fag hag through and through.\"
\"Poor little Lena.\"
7:15pm
Dorothy wouldn\'t stop talking about Duo and Heero. She\'s convinced if we could get them in a room together, they might get along. Unfortunately, she underestimates Duo\'s temper and his overprotective attitude towards his \'lil sis, as he calls Lena. In fact, Dorothy\'s convinced if we set them up on a blind date they\'ll sleep together before the night\'s over. I took the bet, saying that Duo would leave as soon as he found out who Heero was, even if he was a drop-dead gorgeous Japanese man. Duo\'s loyal to a fault.
The date\'s set for Friday night. Dorothy and I are going to \"chaperone\" from another part of the restaurant, the loser buys dinner. I felt it was only fair. I\'ll order something cheap though, I don\'t want to put her out too much. Now I have to arrange for Duo to be there. What a world of fun that\'ll be.
8:32 pm
I just got off the phone with the braided one (it\'s strange, he loves it when I call him that.) He agreed, wut mut much fuss. Seems the datable man shortage in this town\'s really gotten to him. He\'s that desperate. I told him I didn\'t know who his date was, but that Dorothy said he\'d like the guy. I don\'t to to get in trouble with my best friend now do I? The problem with this situation is two-fold. One, I really love Duo and want him to be happy, no matter what, and if that happiness could be found with Heero, well more power to him. Secondly, if it does work out, then Lena will move on, which would be a good thing. Overall, it could turn out great, or I could lose both friends. It\'s an all or nothing thing here. It really sucks to be me.
