Debs-dragon October 2001
She sighed softly to herself as she put down the circuit board. She rubbed the back of her neck trying to ease the tired aching muscles. It was late, her eyes were having trouble trying to focus. She yawned & stretched, her stomach growled reminding her that it hadn\'t been fed for some time. She ignored it and getting to her feet she left the lab and headed for her bedroom. She turned the water on and climbed into the hot shower. As she stood under the flowing water her mind ran in idle circles. Why she bothered fixing and trying to improve those training robots for that ungrateful ape she didn\'t know. It wasn\'t as if he was polite with his requ eit either. He was constantly demanding better training equipment or that she improve the gravity machine, and he was arrogant and down right rude in his demands. Yet despite his rudeness she continued to bow to his wishes and make better training equipment. She turned the water off, got out & began to dry herself. Why did she continue to slave away? If she was honest with herself it was for the sake of the planet & its people, nothing at all to do with his royal highness. If the revelations of the purple headed youth from the future were true then the earth was going to need all the help it could get and if that meant bowing to the wishes of that arrogant prince, then so be it. As much as she hated to admit it, they were going to need him. She sighed again and pulling on her underpants and oversized t shirt she climbed into bed. The cool crispness of the sheets felt good against her skin, the pillow caressed her aching head as she drifted off into a deep slumber.......
Sunbeams danced across the meadow. The light breeze ruffled the daisy faces as they turned towards the warming sunshine. It was cold in the shadows of the trees. She scanned around... nothing, she ventured out into the sunlight. Immediately her senses were assaulted as different smells, sounds & sights attacked her from all sides. The warmth of the sun invigorated her. She laughed as she ran through the tall grass. She flopped onto the ground and lay staring at the deep blue of the sky. Suddenly she sensed him. Rising to her elbows she scanned around.... she couldn\'t see him... but she could feel him.......
He waited in the shadows, ever watchful. His eyes enjoying the visual feast of her. Watching her like this brought more longings and emotions to his body than he was ready to deal with as yet. His head snapped up...... she had sensed his presence... he melted back into the shadows.
She felt him go and scanned vainly to try to find any trace of where he had been. Nothing. He watched her sleeping form. As her breathing became lighter so he floated softly out of the open window and into the dawns breaking rays.
She yawned, stretched and began to rub the sleep from her eyese loe looked at the clock, 7am. Her thoughts returned to her dream. It had been a dream... hadn\'t it? Somehow it had seemed so real, but no.... she was in her bed, in her own room. A light breeze blew in, she raised her head. She didn\'t remember opening the window last night. She got up & closed it. Come to think of it she didn\'t remember much about last night at all, she had been so tired. She turned & went to her closet. She dressed in t shirt & overalls then headed downstairs to the kitchen.

As she entered she saw him, back turned to her he was searching through the refrigerator. She smiled to herself. He closed the door with a grunt & turning to face her folded his arms and smirked. \"About time !\" he growled. She moved across the kitchen ignoring his hostility. She hummed to herself as she cooked up bacon, eggs, sausages & toast. When she was done she placed the heavily laden plate in front of him and taking a slice of toast for herself sat back & watched him eat. It didn\'t take him long to clean the plate and when he was finished he got up and left without saying so much as a thank you She sighed and placed the dirty dishes in the dishwasher, then refilling her coffee cup she headed for the lab.
She lifted the goggles from her tired red rimmed eyes and glanced at the clock. 11pm. She turned off the gas and placed the torch back in its place. That would do for today. She took her coffee cup and dropped it in the kitchen sink, she looked at the table. He had obviously been in and made himself something to eat, the evidence was all around her. Wearily she sighed and began to put the dirty dishes in the sink and clean up the rest of the mess. Once the kitchen was tidy she made her way to the shower. The water revived her slightly and soothed her tired muscles. She pulled on her underwear and a tank top then lay her weary body on the bed. She hugged the pillow close. By Kami he was an ungrateful bastard. Not so mas aas a thank you for all her hard work, just more broken equipment and dirty dishes.
He watched from the shadows as slumber once more overtook her body. He moved forward & stared silently at her......

The warmth of the meadow greeted her once again as she made her way through the swaying grass. The breeze blew gently around her lifting her blue hair and playing gently across her face. She inhaled deeply, her senses more finely tuned and savored the smell of the air, the trees, the flowers. She closed her eyes and let the sunshine warm her face.
He stared silently from the safety of the trees, watching.... waiting.....
She sensed his presence but this time showed no sign. She needed to find him, not scare him away. She turned slightly and keeping her eyes closed she scanned the perimeter trying to lock on to his presence. She stopped.... the feeling was stronger this way.
He watched her every movement, missing nothing. The way the wind blew through her hair, the dappling of the sunlight on her skin. The ache inside began to get stronger and for a moment he let his mind wander... to think of what could be.... if he would let it. Just as quickly as he let his guard down so he raised it again.
She sensed his uncertainty and edged closer. The confusion that was surrounding him was only there for a second but it was long enough for her to pick up on and realize it for what it was. She smiled to herself......
He saw the smile, it worried him. Why? He didn\'t know. He melted away into the shadows once more.......

Her eyes flickered open and she softly sighed to herself, she had gotten closer this time. She hugged herself and closed her eyes again reaching for the last fading images of the dream, searching with all she had, trying to find him, but alas as always he eluded her. Tossing the sheets aside she got up and pulled on a pair of jeans and t shirt. She ran a comb through her hair and putting on her sneakers noticed the window open. She stared at it for a moment then shrugging her shoulders dismissed it from her thoughts and left the room. She headed downstairs for the kitchen where no doubt his royal pain in the ass would be waiting for his breakfast.......
Refilling her coffee cup she stared out of the kitchen window. She could see the gravity machine and the odd flash every now & then. She wondered why he was so obsessed with his training. Sure she knew of the dangers that lay ahead. That purple haired youth had made sure of that. She also knew that it irked him that Goku was stronger and had achieved the level of super saiya-jin while he of the royal blood line was still yet to achieve it. Oh she had no doubt that he would succeed, it was only a matter of time. She turned and carrying her coffee returned to the lab. She looked at the table with the broken training robots on it and sighed. As she sat down and picked up the soldering iron she hoped he would achieve his goal soon, she was running out of spare parts rapidly.
The day drew to a close, evening descended but Bulma was unaware so engrossed in her work was she. It was very late when she finally placed the last of the training robots on the bench. There... that was all of them fixed. She massaged her aching temples. She hoped he would cut her some slack and not break anything for a while... At least 24 hours anyway. As much as she enjoyed working in her lab she would be glad to see something other than these same four walls for a while. To say the least the scenery was becoming tedious. She scraped the chair back as she stood up. She moved stiffly towards the door and shuffled to the kitchen. Something wasn\'t quite right, then it hit her. The kitchen was tidy! No dirty dishes or mess for her to clean up. Her eyes opened wide in disbelief. Either he had cleaned up after himself, not bothered to eat or had got tired of waiting for her and gotten take away. The third thought offered the best reason as there was no way she could see him going without food, and being the arrogant son of a bitch that he was he certainly wouldn\'t clean up after himself.
She climbed the stairs and went to her room. Feeling refreshed from her shower she stood at the open window, staring out into the velvety blacknesousaousands of stars blinked back at her and she noticed how the moon was tinged with a silvery blue hue. It would be a full moon in a day or two she noted. Draining her cup she turned from the window and climbed into bed. She switched off the light and rolling over snuggled into the soft mattress.
As her breathing became deeper and more rhythmical so he slipped in from the darkness......

Once more she found herself in the meadow, the sun gently warming her. Why she kept coming here she didn\'t know. Inexplicably she felt drawn here, she knew she would find him here and that somehow he held the key. If only she could get close enough to him then all would become clear. But he was always just that bit ahead of her.... ever evasive.... She wasn\'t sure how to get him to come to her, he was hesitant, of that she was certain. She lost herself deep in thought as she moved through the meadow.
Silently from the safety of the forest he watched. She felt him there and quietly made her way bit by bit towards him. He stood his ground and continued to observe her, every muscle taunt, ready to flee should he need to. She could sense his apprehension, his uncertainty, his confusion. He allowed her to come to the edge then silently melted away into the shadows once again. She sighed. Why oh why was he still so elusive? She could feel him still there, at least he hadn\'t vanished. She moved back into the meadow trying to entice him to follow. She tossed her head and ran off thorough the grass chasing butterflies.
He watched her leave, drinking in her soft sensuous body as she moved gracefully away from him. The breeze brought the gentle sounds of her laughter to his sensitive ears. He longed to go to her, to reveal himself, but he couldn\'t.... not yet. The time had to be right.... he had to be sure.... Hungrily he stared in the direction she had gone.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
As she drew herself up frhe dhe depths of sleep so she felt him still there, that little bit closer and yet still elusive. There we an aching... a longing within. Her eyes flickered open as the last shreds of the dream disappeared. She sighed to herself. How much longer was this torture to last? He continued to come closer and closer and yet still he hesitated. She climbed from the bed and running her fingers through her hair wondered why. Why she couldn\'t find him, why did he continue to elude her? And why did he keep coming into her dreams if he had no intention of letting her get close to him. An explosion from outside jolted her back to reality. That was another big question in her life........ Just why did she continue to put up with Mr high & mighty, arrogant, self centered, egotistical saiya-jin prince? In one way she would be so glad when these androids appeared, then maybe she would get some peace! She pulled on her clothes waiting for the all to familiar call. \"Woman!! Woman!!\" sure enough, there it was. She smiled to herself then headed downstairs to where Mr lord & master would no doubt be waiting.
She wiped the back of her hand across her sweaty brow then continued to tighten up the last bolt. She sat back on her haunches and pulling a cloth from her pocket proceeded to wipe the grease from her hands. At least the damage this time had been minimal. She could see him out of the corner of her eye. He was prowling around trying to look like he wasn\'t interested, but she knew better.... He was agitated, breaking his neck to get back to his training. It was evident in his stance, in the way he was impatiently moving around. Smiling to herself she picked up her bag of tools and straightening the kinks from her body , left the chamber. She chuckled softly as she noted the speed at which he covered the ground to get back to his beloved machine and return to his obsessive training.
He didn\'t break anything else so she was free to spend the afternoon in the kitchen. At least it wasn\'t the lab. She was still slaving away for that no good heartless beast but the scenery & the tools were different. Having finished the meal she had prepared he got up and began to walk towards the door. She continued to finish hers. He stopped & turned, he stared at her and struggled with his mind. She heard him stop and felt his eyes upon the back of her head. She paused in her eating and turning slowly looked at him. He stood framed in the doorway, his eyes had a far away look in them. Staring intently at him she searched his face for a clue as to what he may be thinking. His eyes returned to their normal focus, he shook himself, grunted then with that all familiar scowl on his face, left the room. She returned to her meal. For just the briefest of moments she thought he was going to say thank you. His eyes had given her the merest hint of a Vegeta unknown to anyone. She pondered this thought as she finished her dinner. Having cleaned the kitchen she headed for the bathroom and a long overdue soak in the tub. She added sweet smelling bath salts to the steaming water as the tub filled. She sighed as she lowered herself into the warmth. The gentle scent of honeysuckle invaded her nostrils as she allowed her tense weary muscles to relax. The warmth penetrated to her very core, soothing and re - juvenating her. At last feeling much refreshed she climbed out of the tub and dried herself off. She pulled on a night shirt and sat at her dressing table brushing her long blue locks. Replacing the brush she wandered over to the bed and climbed in. Turning off the light she lay on her back staring at the ceiling. She was confused, confused by this re occurring dream. Why was she having it?, Where was he hiding? And why was he hiding from her? These thoughts continued to race through her mind until finally exhausted she drifted off to sleep.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
She awoke to the sounds of birds singing, her eyes flickered open, she was lying on her back staring at blue sky with cotton candy clouds floating lazily across. The smell of freshly mown grass and trees filled her being and she could feel him..... close...... very close......
She turned her head and sead. Ad. A slight movement caught her eye, she twisted her head and stared. Maybe it had just been the tree branch swaying. She got up and moved towards the belt of trees. He saw her coming and pressed back into the cover of the leaves. He wasn\'t ready for her to find him just yet, he still wasn\'t sure..... not yet..... but nearly....
She stopped at the edge, her instincts telling her he was close and she sensed his hesitation, feeling him beginning to leave. She sthed hed her arms out for him and called to him to come to her but he continued to fade..... \"Soon...\" was his soft reply. She knew he was gone, she felt him go and sadly she turned and made her way back.
He watched as the differing emotions crossed her sleeping face. Lightly he brushed a strand of hair from her cheek. Her skin quivered under his touch but she did not wake. Gently he brought his lips to hers and for the briefest of moments they touched..... then he pulled away and floating through the open window whispered \"Soon....\"
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
As she began to return to the conscious state so a series of thoughts flowed through her head. \'Soon\' he had said. Why was he leading her on? tormenting her like this. Allowing her to get so close then vanishing leaving her suspended? She struggled to make any sense of it all. If she could just get close enough to touch him then all would become clear... of that she was certain. She rolled over and stared at the patterns the sunbeams were making on the carpet. The more she thought about the dream the more questions were raised and less likely seemed the answers. She ran her hands through her hair. Why oh why were dreams so complicated? She pushed all thoughts from her head and got herself dressed. The prince was waiting for his breakfast when she finally arrived in the kitchen. He didn\'t look very happy either, but then Bulma couldn\'t recall ever having seen any other form of expression on his face. He always managed to look pissed off even if he wasn\'t. She cooked his food & watched him eat. Within minutes he had cleaned his plate and stood up to go and begin his training routine. She sighed & picked up the paper.
He spent all day in the gravity machine. He came out for lunch but only because he had to. His body was acting strangely and he wasn\'t sure what was happening. Training hard was the only way he knew how to control the emotions that were threatening to burst forth & take over his mind & body. His skin felt on fire, feelings & desires that were totally alien to him were overtaking him... His senses were more finely tuned. Every nerve, every muscle, strained, taunt, searching, feeling for something as yet unknown to him.
He continued on into the evening. She left him to his training and went to bed. She was tired. She lay listening to the steady stream of thumps, bangs & flashes that were continuously being emitted from the gravity machine. The sounds lulled her to sleep.
He continued to spar into the night until his body began to protest. Finally he submitted to his bodies demands and leaving the machine he headed for the shower. He stood with the cool water coursing over his hot body still trying to understand the turmoil going on within him. Deep inside he could feel a longing.. a desire.... a need building up but he didn\'t know how or where to satisfy it. His skin still burned to the touch despite the cool water... god he was hot. He pulled on a pair of black spandex shorts and floated out the window into the night air. He didn\'t know where he was going or why, he was simply following his instincts and his instincts told him that this was right....

She awoke and immediately the silence overwhelmed her. The window was open but not a breath of air could be felt. She threw back the bed covers, she felt very hot. She got up and walked to the window. The world was bathed in the silvery blue light of the moon. She stared upwards, the moon was so bright and so full. She couldn\'t remember the last time she had seen a full moon such as this. It was no good, she couldn\'t sleep. Pulling on a pair of shorts and tucking a tank top into them she slipped outside into the cool night air. She walked past the silent gravity machine and on ahead. She didn\'t know where she was going. Her instincts told her to go this way........ and she trusted her instincts........
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
She gasped as she came out from between the trees. She was in the meadow.... the place in her dreams. It looked different, moonbeams danced across the landscape, a gentle breeze sprang up and stirred the leaves. She looked around, somehow in the moonlight it took on a whole new magical feel. Her head snapped up.... she wasn\'t alone......
He knew she sensed him. This time he was ready. He knew it was time, no longer could he deny his soul of what was meant to be, of what he felt....
She scanned around trying to lock on to his presence. He brought himself forward from the shadows, just enough for her to locate him then quietly he melted away. She turned and silently moved across the meadow to the edge of the trees. She cast her eyes around, vainly searching the forest edge. He was there and he was close, but she hesitated, a tremor of fear ran up her spine. He felt her fear and softly brought himself forward from the shadows. Her eyes still continued to search and then they found his. Their gazes locked and her fear drained from her. He opened his arms to her and willingly she walked into them. She felt his heat, the electricity crackled as their bodies met with their embrace. He began to drown in her, the sight, sound, smell, touch and taste of her sent his already highly strung senses over the edge. The fire raged into an inferno as he completely enveloped her. She submitted to his will. Now that she had finally got him she wasn\'t about to give him up.
The moon bore witness to their mutual lust, bathing them in her soft silvery light as their lovemaking took them to new heights. The gentle moans, the whimpering and cries of pleasure were heard only by the trees atarstars........

She awoke. The sun streamed in from the window. She brushed her hand across her face. Where was she? She looked up. She was in her bed, in her room. She sighed, so it had all been a dream after all. Why then did it seem so real? She got up and went to the bathroom. She ran the water & washed her face. Staring into the mirror she noticed a mark on her neck. She tilted her head and moved closer to the mirror. Her fingers gently ran over the mark. It was a small puncture wound, similar to a bite mark. Her mind did a quick flash back. Deep in her subconscious she seemed to recall part of her dream. He bit her. Something about marking his property he said. She continued to finger the mark. Maybe it hadn\'t been a dream after all.
She went downstairs intent on cornering him, finding out just what the hell was going on. He wasn\'t there. She went to his room, no sign. She checked the gravity room, empty. Her heart was beginning to feel heavy. Slowly she walked back towards the house. As she got closer so she noticed the space ship her father had been working on was gone. It didn\'t take a genius to put two and two together.........

The baby\'s cries eased as she gently soothed him. She held the tiny bundle close to her chest, her fingers running absently through his soft lavender locks. She stared out into the velvet sky, searching the stars.... I wonder where you are.... Do you know you have a son? She thought quietly & sadly to herself....
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
She was again in the meadow, feeling the warm sunshine upon her skin. Cradled in her arms was her son... her Trunks..... The baby smiled and cooed as the butterflies moved overhead. She turned feeling his presence. He came forward.... No hesitation this time. She watched as the figure surrounded by a golden aura approached. The emerald eyes glittered as they took in the woman and his son. Gently he enveloped them both..... drawing them deep into his embrace. Protecting them.... keeping them safe...... Forever by his side........ his mate and his heir....
