Prologue - BardockSurvives
This is my first fic and I hope you enjoy it. By the way, Goku will know things that he is told later on in the DB series. Bardock will teach him how to control his Oozaru form and such. So Goku will have higher power levels than he did in the original series.

Prologue: Bardock Survives
Frieza’s laughter rang throughout the empty space as he stared at the last of Planet Vegeta. \"Well, that’s the last of the rebellious monkeys.\"
\"What of the Prince and his two companions, Lord Frieza?\" Zarbon asked, kneeling before his lizard-like master.
\"They shall live for now.\" Frieza replied coyly. \"I want to see how useful they prove.\"
\"Yes my Lord.\" Zarbon said, bowing his head. ‘And I shall send them to a planet far from your clutches, you monster. They shall grow stronger so that they may defeat you and free those who you have oppressed.’ He thought, mentally smirking.
Frieza smirked, not knowing that one of his closest underlings was plotting against him and turned towards Zarbon. \"You are dismissed, Zarbon.\"
\"Thank you, my Lord.\" Zarbon said, standing and bowing before leaving the throne room.
\"Now we shall see what happens to the three remaining monkeys.\" Frieza whispered, closing his eyes as red bolts of energy crackled around his body.

‘Bardock…’
‘Who’s there?’
‘You must wake up, Bardock.’
‘I’m alive?’
‘You are very much alive, Bardock.’
‘Who are you.’
‘I cannot reveal my self to you yet, Bardock.’
‘Why not?’
‘I have my reasons for doing so, but you will find out who I am in time.’
‘What do you want with me?’
‘I saved you so that you may go save the last of the Saiya-jins.’
‘How many of us are left?\"
‘Right now, I only know of five others that are alive.’
‘Who are they?’
‘Your two sons Raditz and Kakarrot, Nappa, Vegeta no Ouji, and Ame.’
‘My sons are alive?’
‘Raditz is with Nappa and Vegeta no Ouji, while Kakarrot and Ame are on Planet Earth.’
‘Where is Raditz, Nappa, and Vegeta no Ouji?’
‘With Frieza.’
‘What!?’
‘Do not worry, for no harm shall come to them. They are in the process of escaping from Frieza’s clutches.’
‘How is that?’
‘Zarbon is going have them fake their death and he will send them to Earth.’
‘Where am I to go?’
‘I am going to send you to Earth, about 1ars ars into the future. By then, Kakarrot will have lost his memory and will be called Goku. Ame will have also lost her memory and will be called Selene. Raditz will have arrived on Earth and Nappa will arrive shortly after him. Vegeta will be the last to arrive.’
‘Why do they lose their memory?’
‘They injured their head, jarring the transmission chips and causing them to lose all of they knowledge.’
‘Where can I find Ame and my sons?’
‘I must send you to Earth now.’
‘What can I call you?’
‘You may call me Kai. Now good bye, Bardock.’

Bardock stirred, waking up to the sound of birds chirping from outside of the small hut. \"Where am I?\" He voiced out loud, looking around the one room hut.
\"My house.\" A voice above Bardock said.
Bardock looked up to see his son Kakarrot hanging from the rafter by his tail.
\"I’m Son Goku! What’s your name?\" Goku asked, beaming at Bardock. He swung up onto the rafter and peered down at him.
\"Goku?\" The older Saiya-jin whispered, wondering why the name sounded so familiar. Suddenly, his memory of his conversation with the mysterious Kai came back to him. He looked to the beaming Goku and smiled. \"Come down here and I’ll tell you.\"
\"Fair enough.\" The 11 1/2-year-old chibi said, hopping down from the rafter. He landed with a dull thud on the wooden floor.
\"This’ll be hard to explain, but…\" Bardock started, pondering on how to tell Goku that he was his father. \"I’m your father, Bardock.\"
\"You’re my… Dad?\" Goku asked, sitting down on the floor indian-style. \"I wonder why Grandpa Gohan didn’t tell me that I had a dad.\"
\"Grandpa Gohan?\" Bardock asked, raising an eyebrow in question.
\"Oh! He’s the one who found me. He told me that I used to be mean a long time ago, but one day I fell into a gorge and hit my head. After that, he said I was the sweetest thing there ever was.\" Goku said, his tail wagging happily.
\"Where is this Grandpa Gohan?\" Bardock asked, wishing to thank the old man for helping his son.
\"Oh… He died a long time ago. The horrible monster that came out on the night of the full moon killed him. He was attacked by it once, but he survived. After that time he told me to never look at the full moon. I wonder why though?\" Goku said, scratching the back of his head.
Bardock stared at his son, shocked that such a thing had happened. \"I know why, Goku.\" He said suddenly.
\"Can you tell me?!\" Goku asked excitedly, his tail fanning the air madly.
\"Well, of course.\" Bardock replied. \"When a Saiya-jin looks at the full moon, they will transform into a giant ape-like creature called an Oozaru. This transformation is dangerous if the Saiya-jin doesn’t know how to control their Oozaru form.\"
\"You mean that monster was me?\" Goku asked, one thought coming to mind. \"That means I killed Grandpa!\"
It wIt wasn’t your fault!\" Bardock snapped, a furious scowl on his face. \"I can teach you how to control your Oozaru form.\"
\"Then I won’t kill anyone?\" Goku asked, a smile slowly spreading across his face.
\"When is the next full moon?\" Bardock asked, staring at his son.
\"In a few days.\" Goku said, delighted that he wouldn’t kill anyone else.
A low rumble sounded throughout the room, causing both Saiya-jins to look down at their stomach.
\"That was me.\" Bardock said, rubbing his discomforted stomach.
\"I’m hungry too.\" Goku said, his stomach growling seconds later. \"Let’s go to the stream and get some fish.\"
\"Fish?\" Bardock looked to his son for an answer, but he had already gone out of the hut.

10 minutes until impact. The computer announced.
\"I wonder why Zarbon sent us to this accursed planet.\" Raditz grumbled, glaring down at the small blue and green planet that loomed before him. \"Might as well stay there until Nappa and Prince Vegeta get there.\"
9 minutes until impact. The computer announced, drawing Raditz’s attention awaym thm the view of the planet.

\"I got one!\" Goku shouted, pulling his tail out of the water as a fish went to grab it. The fish came out of the water and flopped on the ground beside him.
\"I’ve got one too!\" Bardock said, pulling a large fish out of the water by hand.
Goku laughed as the fish hit Bardock with its fin, causing him to drop it back in the water.
\"Well I had it.\" Bardock muttered, glaring down at the water.
\"Don’t worry. You can have some of mine.\" Goku said, hoisting the huge fish over his shoulder.
\"Why couldn’t life be like this on Vegeta-sai?\" Bardock asked quietly, looking up at the sky. What he saw made his heart leap. \"Goku! Let’s go!\" He ordered, bolting towards the small ho
\"Uh… Ok?\" Goku said, confused as to why his father wanted to go home so badly. After a few minutes, a thought registered in his mind. \"Oh yeah! He’s hungry!\" With that confirmed, he went after his father, at a slower pace.

After the smoke cleared, a low hissing sound was heard from the small round space vessel.
Bardock watched as a tall figure with long hair step out of the pod. \"Raditz?\"
\"Dad?\"

Goku rubbed his head as he stood up. A low growl formed in his throat and he turned upon the thing that attacked him. \"You won’t take my fish you monster.\" He shouted as he attacked the strange thing.\"
\"Wait!\" A soft feminine voice shouted from within the monster. A girl with braided blue hair and aquamarine eyes pushed herself out of the hole in the monster’s side. \"This is a car.\" She said, dropping to the ground in front of Goku. \"I’m Bulma.\"
