Vegeta\'s Pride

*beep* *whirr beepbeep!* The computer within the cramped space pod buzzed to life. It was nearing its pre-determined destination. The sole occupant of the space pod didn\'t know this, he was still sleeping comfortable in hypersleep. The pod continued its journy onward unthinkingly. It continued to read out steady steams of data as it continued its hurling approach to the planet.
The planet was a low class planet with a thick atmosphere with low hanging clouds and a constant fog. A stiff wind constantly blew across the planet, heavy with hot moisture. The sole occupant of the pod didn\'t know this, nor would he have cared.
The pod slowed as it neared the surface of the planet, being pulled by gravity, yet seemingly being slowed by the thickening fog that surrounded the planet. Finally, the pod crashed into the planet causing a crater to form around it. The jarring that should have been felt was nothing to the still slumbering passanger. Nothing would wake him it would have seemed.
The pod upon contact with the ground released a high concentration of gas blow through a vent near the passangers face. His black eyes snapped open instantly as he checked the reading on his pods computer. He had finally arrived. He tried to stretch out his muscles, but it was to cramped inside the little pod to do much moving. He flipped a switch and the door to the pod slowly opened out onto the rocky ground of the crater he had created with his perfect controlled crash landing.
Vegeta stood basking in the dim filtered sunlight that permeated the thick cloud cover. His nose raised high he breathed the thick air deeply and nearly swooned. He feel to his knees as quickly as he had stood up outside of his pod. \"This is a harsh planet indeed,\" smirked the mighty Sayijen Prince. He found his feet and put them beneath him as he rose and again breathed deeply the thick air. It was heavy and almost as thick as water, but bareable. Vegeta didn\'t know why but he was still smirking.
He took a few steps out to test the gravity of the planet. It was lighter then what he was used to training in. Why, just a year ago he had been training at 50 times earths gravity at capsule...
Vegeta shook his head and cleared his mind of the nonsense. That was then, this is now. He had a mission to complete and he wasn\'t going to leave untill it was done. He had come to many worlds such as this one to train. Vegeta was second best to no one in his eyes. Arrogence or the truth, he wasn\'t so sure anymore.
\"Kakarot,\" Vegeta whispered under his breath as he stood a little straiter and stared into the dim sunlight. \"Your day is fast approaching.\" With that Vegeta turned around and knelt in front of his space pod to gather a few things. He had already wasted to much time. It was time to train

*Flashback*
\"Vegeta, No!!!\" Goku cried as a held up his hands to deflect the Ki blast Vegeta had just delivered. Goku absorbed the shock and stood tattered and breathing heavily as Vegeta just continued his trade mark smirk.
\"Kakarot, this is your end! Once and for all i will prove I am the greater warrior, that I am truely the Prince of all Sayijens!\" Vegeta laughed and crossed his arms across his chest. \"What does it feel like to be so weak and pathetic?\"
Goku, who had fallen to his knees after the initial shock of the blast, staggered to his feet and looked at Vegeta through his one non-closed eye. Vegeta had gotten strong, maybe to strong for him.
\"No...\" Goku whispered under his breath, looking up into the eyes of the approaching sayijen.
Vegeta stoped in front of Goku and held up his arm wrapping his fingers around his neck choking him. \"You are nothing in the face of the mighty Vageta!\" Vegata released his grasp and let Goku land witha thud on the ground. He gasped mightily for air while spread out on all fours. Vegeta gave him a kick that sent him spiriling intoa rock wall.
Goku could taste blood again. How could he let it end like this? How could he leave Chi-Chi all alone with Gohan? How could he leave his family again? Tears started to well up within his eyes as he slowly turned his head towards his pursuer.
\"Tears? From you Kakarot? Ahahahahahaha!\" Vegeta laughed maniacally. \"You really are a weakling...\"
Goku let them come freely now, his anger rising with each passing moment. He could never leave Chi-Chi again, and he would never leave his son without a father again if he could help it. With every ounce of his soul he would fight.
Goku climbed to his feet and held his head high as Vegeta once again stalked closer to him.
\"Do you have something to say to me boy before I destroy you?\"
Goku wiped the tears away and closed his eyes. The anger within him we welling up like a spring of bottled emotion. Gohan, his son...Chi-Chi, his wife...Master Roshi, Bulma, Krillen, Yamcha, Tien...All of them. How could he let it go on this long, how could he let the world suffer so at this one mans ego?
\"No...\" Goku whispered again as he took a deep breath.
Vegeta took a quick step back as soon as he felt Goku\'s ki spike dramatically. He could feel the growing energy within Goku. Suprised, Vegeta took another step back and watched as Goku\'s head snap in line with the rising moon.
\"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!\" Goku screamed throwing his clenched fists to his sides. He turned his head back down to Vegeta, staring at him with his cold eyes. Energy flared out around him and engulfed all that was near him. It began to swirl and mix with the pure energy that was coming from this lone warrior.
\"But...how?\" was all Vegeta could say.
Goku held his head high and opened his mouth in a primal scream as he shook the mountains around them. Goku cupped his hands together down near his side and readied his final attack.
\"Ka-me...\"he shouted as he continued to stare at the stunned Vegeta. What was he to do?
\"ah-me,\" Goku stared into the eyes of his opponent as saw the slightest hint of fear. \"So the great Sayijen prince is not without fear...\"Goku thought to himself just before he released the blast.
Vegeta snapped out of it at that moment and decided it was best to try to defeat the attack with one of his own. Vegetta threw his hands out in front of him and let loose every last ounce of Ki he had within him just as Goku launched his assault.
It was not contest. Goku\'s wave engulfed Vegeta and brought him to his knees. Goku calmly walked over to Vegeta and stood before the near broken Sayijen prince.
\"Finish me Kakarot!\" Vegeta spat with every ounce of his energy. \"Kill me now!\"
Goku stared down at the helpless Sayijen before him and raised his hand. The Ki blast he released barely missed Vegeta\'s head. He opened his eyes and looked up at Goku.
\"Kakarot?\"
\"I will not kill you for only one reason, so listen good so called Prince of Sayijens,\" Goku stopped because it was his turn to smirk, \"You were beaten before this fight began.\"
\"How...how did you...know that?\" Vegeta stammered trying to get to his feet.
\"Because I\'m not a fool who follows his pride blindly,\" Goku said bluntly.
\"Damn you Kakarot!\" Vegeta hissed as he closed his eyes.
