Dreams

Vegeta sat on a swing in the deserted park, but he could hear kids playing and laughing in the background. The sky was black and the wind howled its strong voice and he shuddered just a little. He was alone, but he felt like death had come for him, along with the children he couldn’t see.

He was alone in this God forsaken world, and he thought for once he could find peace within this dank place. But, as the clouds grew and the storm growled and hissed, he knew that he was doomed from the beginning.

To bring the pieces back together, you must rediscover communication. Vegeta wasn’t really good at that and he frowned. But there was a time that they fit, but he watched them fall away. This place was so familiar, and overwhelmingly warm, despite the hard whipping of the wind across his face. Embracing death didn’t scare him at all, but it made him smile.

But, maybe he couldn’t die, he thought. Maybe he wasn’t allowed to die. Seeing this place so many times and feeling the reality of this manifestation he has perhaps created. Was this place just an illusion of some kind, maybe? Perhaps, he mused, perhaps not.

He chose to be here. What came before this precious moment, he absently asked. This was his doing, wasn’t it? Smiling a little, he crouched over on the seat and laid his head on his knees as he realized that this was inside of him. Turning his head toward his bare feet, he saw ticks and leeches crawl over and between his toes, but he didn’t care.

Twirling around in this terrible world, he celebrated the chance to breathe in the abhorrent acid smell of the dead trees and power plants that filtered the air. Tearing his gaze away from his feet, he looked up into the bleak sky, welcoming this new feeling of the despair that welled inside his chest, flickering in his head. How beautiful, he thought, it is to be here now.
