The Way We Should Have Been
Title: The way we should have been:
Prologue
Author: December-Lily
Rating: R(up)
Genre: Romance/Drama?
Paring: Gokou/Chi-Chi
Author Notes:This is my contest to what I THINK should of been like for ChiChi. X-D Oh I am altering Chichi’s age just by a few years. So instead of being 45ish she is more 40ish…
I don’t own Dragon Ball. Wish I did. (I would never want to own GT though. It sucks. :-P) Excuse the grammar but until I get a Beta reader this is as good as it gets. --;

Son, Chi-Chi stood staring out into space as she stood next to a magazine rack. Her thoughts were of what had taken placed in last few months of her life. Her husband had left her to go and train a young boy named Ubuu. Her youngest son had moved to the city to live with Trunks as roommates. Her nest was empty. She was supposed to be spending these years with her Gokou. They were finally going to be together. But that was the way it was suppose to be not the way they were.
Her life up till now had been about her children and her husband. But now her life was about going home to a dark house and trying to find ways to fill her time. She felt useless. Her whole purpose for living was gone or at least she had thought so in the beginning. But now it had been three months since Gokou had left and the loneliness had been replaced with fear.
At first she had thought that she might be going through the “change.” So after nearly three months of not getting her period she had gone to see the doctor. Much to her great shock she had not been going through menopause but was PERGERNAT! Needless to say she had been treated for a bump to the head before she had left the office. This really was not supposed to be happening to her at this age. She was afraid to doing it all alone. Last time she had Gohan and later Gokou to help her. But this time she would have to do it alone. She knew that Gohan and Goten would help out as best they could but she could not expect them to drop their lives. Nor did she expect them too.
‘DANM IT GOKOU! How did you mange to leave me pregnant yet again?’ She thought bitterly to herself.
But it was a fact that she was going to have a baby whether she was alone or not. She was already in love with the baby and once the fear passed she knew that this would be the best thing for her. But then was the life she had right now best for the baby? Maybe it was time that she found herself a job. But what could she do? She had been a housewife her whole life and had no job skills for the job market.
“Oh Kami, What am I suppose to do?” She whispered to herself.
As if answering her prayers right then someone’s voice rang out breaking her thoughts. “GASP! You’re perfect for my new magazine!” Chi-Chi looked but to see a young woman staring at her. She was tall, with ginger hair and green eyes. It was like she knew her from somewhere.
“Excuse me?” Chi-Chi asked staring at her.
“I said you would make a perfect model! Are you interested? Ummmm? I am in need of lovely young Japanese women such as you!” The young women said in delight.
Chi-Chi blinked a few times as her words sunk in her head. Young? Lovely? Just what kind of magazine was this woman running?
“Okay… Who the hell are you and what kind of magazine is this you are talking about?” She growled.
The woman looked at her for a few seconds and then let out a little giggle of amusement. “Oh heavens no! I am not in the porn biz! I am Estella Greenwood and I am an ex-model that just opened her own fashion magazine. You’re just what I came to Japan looking for! Young, natural, and beautiful.” Estella said with a smile.
“OH! Now I know where I know you from! I have read articles on you! But what do you mean young? I’m hardly young! I am forty years old.” Chi-Chi said with a smile.
“Forty? Wow, you hardly look a day over twenty! So do you want to come with me to L.A.? I will make it worth your while.” She said with a wink.
“MOMMY!”
Chi-Chi snapped out of her daydream violently as her daughter’s voice rang out. She looked down with narrow eyes at the little girl.
“Goki! What have I told you about yelling?” She scolded the little girl.
“I’m sorry Mommy. But you wasn’t paying no attention. I just wanted to tell you that I am going to be late for school if you don’t take me soon.” Goki said with a shrug.
With her words Chi-Chi’s eyes went from her child to the wall clock. She let out an exasperated sigh and quickly grabbed her purse. They quickly made their way to their car and made the drive to school. Chi-Chi watched as little Goki made her way to her classroom. A smile played across her lips as did so. Her baby was growing up so fast it seemed. She looked more like her mother the older she got. She gave a smug smile knowing very well that Goki was going to make a very attractive young woman. It was so hard to believe that she was already four years old but then again it was hard to conceive how much her life had changed in that time. She was now a famous model in the Untied States and even more recently a New York Times best selling author. But sometimes when it was late at night and all she could hear was the traffic going by it made her miss the peacefulness of the mountains.
“Better get my ass in gear or will be late for my meetings.” She muttered to herself as she pulled her car into traffic.

Son, Gohan gave a little yawn as he look around the book store. Videl had sent me on a mission to find the first book by Takashi, Miki called Kimono. She had heard many great things about the author and wanted to read them. He smiled when he finally came across it. He opened it and read the summary and out of curiosity turned to read about Miki.
When he turned to then page his breath hitched. The face that looked back at him in the photo was like a ghost from the past.
“Mom…” He muttered to himself not believing his own eyes.
Endnotes: Well… Yes. Thoughts?
Any personal question about the fanfic can be directed to my email. Also please if you could be my beta reader could you please drop me a line? I need one badly.
I know that this is short but it is only the Prologue. I hope that the chapters will be roughly 3,000 to 4,000 words long. X-D That will take me awhile to write.
