I Can Only Imagine
Laying in his lover\'s arms, his pale rose lips were tainted by blood, coating his throat making each breath harsh. His eyes glazed a little more with each passing moment. There was no denying his fate.
\'Duo..\'
The grey violet eyes registered, shifting upwards to meet solid blue.
\'He..e..ro..\'
Heero shook his head, tears unseen for so many years splashing the boy he loved so much on the paling face.
\'Duo.. please don\'t.. don\'t.. do this.. I love you so much..\'
He choked back his sobs trying to prove himself as the solitary pilot, but they came faster than he could resist. Duo smiled, cupping his fingers under Heero\'s chin, bringing him down for a kiss.
\'Heero..d-on\'t cry..\'
Heero\'s heart wrenched. The time they had spent together had been so little, it seemed like there wasn\'t enough time. Enough time to laugh over ice cream and coffee, walk the beach at sunset, make love under a full moon.
\'Heero..\'
He met Duo\'s eyes for a final time, denying to himself what the outcome would be, lost in the blue violet eyes he grew to love, a smile warm enough to melt his heart.
\'Heero..\" Duo chocked, gasping against an iron cage crushing his ribs suffocating him. \'Hee-ro I love you, I.. always will.. forever..\'
The violet eyes intensifed for a moment, just a sheer moment, then faded into a grey, black frame lashes putting him to bed for a final time a small smile spreading over his lips.
\'Duo..\' Heero chocked on his words, sobs burning his throat. \'Duo.. DUO!\"
He shook the pilot gently, then harder. Finally able to realize that he wasn\'t going to return, Heero let himself collapse against his best friend\'s lifeless chest, sobbing into it.
\'Duo...don\'t go.. I could kiss you.. I love you..\'
