prologue
A/N; I am soooooo sorry! I had totally forgot about this site.... I have had so much on my hands lately that I haven't even had the time to sit down and eat properly!
So when a dear friend of mine told me about some other story on this site, well then my memory kicked in^^
Though, I have done one good thing since I disappeared! This entire story had been beta-ed^^ And I added a chapter too, so you'll have to re-read chapter .. seven is it? otherwise it is almost the same, just a few minor changes but nothing that have changed the story^^
And again, please please forgive me!
There are two kinds of Blindness
Prologue
Commander Une was too deep in though to hear the soft sound of knocking on her office door. She didn’t even take notice to the long white-blonde haired man that stepped into the large room until his rasp voice filled the air.
“You wished to speak with me Lady?”
“Huh?!” She looked up in surprise. “Ah, yes. Please take a seat.” There was a moment of hesitation before she had found the courage that first had made her decision for her. She opened her mouth to deliver what the young man in front of her surely would take as lightly as a death penalty.
“Zechs, before you start arguing with me please hear me out. What I have to say is very important to not only you.”
“Of course, ma’am.”
“Thank you.” She let a deep breath fill her lungs. “I take it that you’re aware of agent Chang’s condition?”
“Vaguely, but yes.”
“Hmm... I received a call from his physician yesterday...”
“Yes?” The blond man urged her to continue.
“They’d like to keep him under observation for another week, but then they want him out of the hospital-”
“Why? Too mean of a spoiled brat for the nurses to handle?” His voice spat with detest for the young agent.
“Marquise! I will not tolerate that kind of tone in my presence, especially not from you!”
“Yes ma’am.” Somehow his words didn’t sound that convincing in her ears.
“As I was saying, they can only keep him there for one week. So if noting goes wrong he is free to go home.”
“And you want me to act as a chauffeur?”
“No, Sally has already offered. But she can’t take care of him afterwards.”
“Take care?”
“Zechs, please?”
“I’m sorry ma’am.”
“Chang is badly injured. It will take awhile for him to readjust to the world, but-”
“What?!” Zechs Marquise rose from his chair. “No! There is no way in hell I’m going to baby-sit that annoying little brat!!”
“Sit down Marquise!” The woman’s voice sounded harsh as she too stood. “I know the two of you aren’t the best of friends, but you will have to listen to what I have to say. And you will follow my orders!”
“I’ll listen,” he said sitting down. “But I am not babysitting that brat.” Final.
Une let a small sigh pass between her painted lips. Calmly she sat down and waited for the young man to let some of that hatred steam out of his anger.
“It’s only for a month,” she said reassuring. “Maybe two at the most, if he ever recover completely.” She added in an almost whisper.
“A month?!” he asked snorting. “You want me to cook, clean and maybe even give him a bath every other day too?”
The woman across the table was silent. She hardly even blinked.
“Then you don’t now.” She finally stated.
“Know what?”
“Zechs, he can’t walk. He can hardly even sit!”
“Suits him fine for-“
“MARQUISE! I HAVE WARNED YOU HOW MANY TIMES?!”
“More than I care too remember ma’am.”
“Have you any idea how humiliating this will be for him?” She asked after another short silence. The man sitting in front of her didn’t respond in other ways then looking away.
“Wufei is going to be in constant pain, and just so you do know this will be just as hard for him to comprehend as it is for you-”
“Why me? There’re plenty of people around here that have the spare time to go over to his place-”
“Oh no. That is out of the questioning! He needs somebody he can relay on, somebody who does not fear him, someone who won’t back away just because he barks with his teeth showing.”
“What about Sally? Or one of the other FOUR gundam boys!”
“If you haven’t noticed it Sally has recently given birth to two twin boys. She is exhausted and there is no way any doctor in this space will give her ‘the go’ to carrying an almost grown man around! As for the other boys, they will not.”
“So it’s okay for them to say no but not for me?!”
“Honestly I haven’t asked them.”
Zechs rose from his chair and headed for the door with a not so gentle growl settle on his face.
“Then call them. I will not baby-sit Chang Wufei. Not for all the riches and glory in the world.”
The young man had just laid his hand on the door’s handle when the woman still sitting behind her desk calmly spoke up.
“Marquise, this is a direct order. At 1300 hours this Tuesday you will bring yourself to the Klever Hospital. Dismissed.”
To Be Continued…
