Hi everybody! As if I don’t have enough fics going already… but I had an idea so here is an another western. Please let me know if I should continue this or not.
Standard disclaimers!!!! Not mine! Ok? Oh, regardless how this starts out it is a 2xh romance and story. The other pairings will appear later… maybe if I decide to use others. No too many warning in this part. Maybe a little OOC for them but anyway…so don’t flame for that.
Outlaw
The night was dark and rainy as the lone rider pushed his horse harder. He hadn’t expected them to organize so quickly. They had chased him well after dark, firing at him randomly. Unfortunately one of the members was a good shot. He clutched his shoulder as he took the pounding punishment from the horse’s movements. He had stuffed a handkerchief in the wound but he knew if he didn’t find a warm or at least dry place soon he would be dead. He could feel the warm. Sticky blood oozing slowing through the bandage and onto his shirt. He shivered involuntary. At least they had given up when he had entered the Indian territory. He didn’t want any trouble with the Indians. He just wanted away from the posse and out of the rain. He knew the Indians were following him. They would make a quick appearance then disappear. He knew he couldn’t hold out much longer.
As he rode , he wrapped his reins around his wrists then around the saddle horn. He didn’t want to pass out and fall off the horse. He closed his eyes and slumped forward, leaning on the horse’s neck. Soon, the horse slowed to a faltering trot, then to a full halt. The rider stirred and looked up. He saw a shadow and a barn. The shadow seemed to have the horse’s reins , but dropped them and was gone. Somewhere dry. He slid off the horse. His knees collapsed and he dropped to the ground. He knew he had lost a lot of blood and he was in trouble. He struggled to his feet and took the few steps to the opening . He pushed it open and took a breath. He could smell the animal smell, the damp straw and the fresh hay. He pulled his horse into the barn and loosened the cinch so the saddle would be loose , but he lacked the strength to remove it so he pushed it off and heard it thump to the floor. He pushed the saddle blanket on to the floor. He tried to find some hay but in the dark it was impossible and he couldn’t go on much longer. He collapsed on to the floor in a exhausted, wet heap.

The dog pushed the door open with her nose, sniffing the air. He moseyed over the barely moving lump. She sniffed the man lying on the floor, then placed her paws on him and laid on his chest.

Hilde Schibecker Stood, wondering what she had heard. She wondered if the Indians had returned. She sighed. It was late. She wondered what they wanted. She had lived on the crossroads of the Indian territory and the white man’s boarder for years. She traded with both the Indian and the whites. Sometimes she preferred the Indians over the others. They ate least didn’t try to cheat her because she was a woman. She had the gift of a healer, and out here they needed someone like that. She liked living out here seclusion because she didn’t have prying eyes that way. She had heard talk that she was the crazy woman in the hills. It suited her fine. She grinned slightly. It was always a hoot to go to town for supplies.
She wrapped her robe around her, slipped on her boots, and picked up the lantern..
As she moved across the floor she picked up the rifle by the door. One should be prepared. She opened the door, holding the lantern high and ht rifle crooked in her arm.
“Who’s there?” She yelled out into the night. Her only answer was the rain coming down.
She stepped out on to the porch and looked around. The light didn’t penetrate the darkness. She let go a large sigh and walked out into the rain. As she moved across the yard, with the lantern high. As she got closer to the barn she frowned. She had closed that door, hadn’t she?
She moved the gun so it was easier for her to access., then she stepped into the barn. She moved through it quietly, scanning the darkness with lantern. She frowned as she saw the strange horse. It was not hers. She moved closed and saw her dog laying on a dark mass.
“What the hell???” She muttered in the dark as she knelt next to the person.
“Move ,Mutt.” She said to the dog, shoeing her away. She rolled the person to his back and held the lantern up to see the face. She dropped the rifle and felt his neck for a pulse. He had one, but it was faint.
“Damn.” She stood and retraced her steps out of the barn. She walked across the muddy yard to a small shack. She beat on the door with her fists.
“MR. YUY!” she shouted. “ I need you!”
She stepped back as the door opened revealing her hired hand.
“What is it, Miss Schibecker?”
“I have something I need help with in the barn. Please put on your boots and help me.”
The man named Yuy glared at her, then disappeared in side, only to return a moment later. He followed behind her as she lead him to the barn.
He stopped as she knelt beside the prone man.
“it’s a man.”
She looked up at him, with a look of disgust on her face. “No kidding! Now help me get him in the house. He’s hurt and wet.”
“You’re going to keep him here?”
“Where do I suggest I keep him?” She stood, placing her hands on her hips.
He said nothing then looked at her. “What if he’s an outlaw.”
“What if he is? It doesn’t matter to me.”
“Miss Schibecker. People will talk.”
“What do you care about reputation? You have been here …. How long? No one has said anything yet.” She pointed a finger at him. “You will speak to no one about this. You me and the dog are the only ones to know.”
Heero Yuy stared at the small dark haired woman in front of him.”
“I hope you know what your doing.” He muttered.
“I did when you came here 6 months ago.”
“Well, I was different.”
“How so? You, too, were wanted by the law. So if he is, that makes you two no different.”
Heero leaned down and picked up the man’s shoulders as Hilde grabbed his feet. As he shifted him, a long braid fell free from the jacket.
“Are you sure he’s a man?”
“Yes, why?”
“He has long hair.”
“Yeah, so. Lots of men have long hair. Mr. Yuy. What is the problem?”
“Nothing.”
“Fine, then drop it.”
He said nothing more as they carried the prone man into the house.
