Lonely Day

The colonel stood at his bedroom window over looking the vast terrain around him. Not a soul insight. This was exactly the type of day he was looking for. Nobody to boss him around or annoy him and especially no paperwork. But the night was uneventful, it’s nice to relax but after awhile it gets boring. The night sky was lit with stars, every one of them shown brightly due to the lack of surrounding light. As the colonel stared into the sky he did not notice the figure slowly making their way up to the front door. Mustang jump to the unexpected sound of the bell then grunting loudly for the interruption. Mustang quickly descended to the bottom floor and glided through the rooms to the front door and opened it.

“Well if it isn’t the little stray dog,” Roy smirked. Ed glanced up at his commanding officer in shock.

“Colonel…I…I’m sorry, I thought someone else lived here.” Ed stuttered. Roy couldn’t help but notice a difference in Ed’s demeanor. Ed quickly turned around falling down in the process. Ed sat there leaning forward as if he was in pain.

“Edward is something wrong?” Roy asked walking onto the step.

“No I’m fine, sorry for bothering you.” Ed went to reach up and grab the railing but pulled back in pain grabbing his side. “Damn it!”

“Edward what’s wrong, you’re not one for apologizing.” Roy asked forcefully this time grabbing Ed’s shoulder and pulling him back slightly. As Roy pulled him back it revealed Ed’s open wound on his side. “You’re injured.”

“It’s nothing don’t worry about it.” He laughed. Roy looked down at him harshly.

“Jeez, how long has he been walking around like this.” Roy thought to himself.

“You’re staying here until you get better.”

“No I can take care of myself.” Ed insisted struggling to get away.

“Well, you’re doing a great job bleeding all over my porch.” Roy said. He bent down and wrapped his arms underneath Edward and scooped him up.

“Put me down!” Ed exclaimed.

“No we’re going to take care of that wound first.” He ordered. Ed twisted the wrong way and sharply grunted in pain.

Roy kicked the door closed and walked to the living room and laid Ed onto the rather large couch. Roy left him there as he went around the house grabbing necessary items to clean Ed’s wound. Roy placed everything on the table next to the couch. Ed looked away when Roy sat on the edge next to him looking over his injury. Ed wiggled slightly when he felt the colonel’s hand lift his shirt. Roy then leaned over and grabbed a cloth to wash the excess blood away. Ed tensed as Roy placed the wet rag gently on his skin around the gash.

“Am I hurting you?” Roy asked still lightly wiping around the wound.

“…no.” Ed finally said. With one hand Roy grabbed the waistline of Ed’s pants and pulled down slightly revealing more blood and bruising. Roy glanced up again to read Ed’s face to make sure he wasn’t hurting him but noticed Ed blushing.

“Still okay?” Roy asked. He took his hands off Ed and reached for a clean sheet and put some solution on it.

“…y..yeah.” Ed stammered. Roy lifted his shirt again and laid it on the open part of the wound. “Holy Shit!” Ed tensed up and grabbed the edges of the couch tightly. Roy waited a few seconds before moving the cloth around again. Ed’s breath staggered as Roy tried quickly to clean the area. Roy then folded a dry piece of cloth and switched it with the other.

“Ed, I need you to sit up so I can wrap this securely.” Roy stated. Ed leaned forward and placed both his elbows underneath him and looked up at Roy for help. Roy leaned down place his arm on Ed’s back and lifted him up. Ed let out a very loud grunt as the gash stretched. Without letting go of the cloth Roy grabbed some more to wrap around Ed’s torso. Roy was able to wrap it around Ed’s torso a couple times before his shirt kept getting in the way. Without letting Ed know Roy ran his hands up Ed’s shirt.

“What’re you doing?” Ed stammered as he grabbed Roy’s wrists.

“You shirt is in the way.” Roy said sternly.

Ed turned away as Roy gently slid Ed’s many layers of shirts off of him and placed them of the floor next to the couch. Sitting upright was becoming a chore for Ed’s muscles so he relaxed and placed his head in the groove of Roy’s shoulder to keep him upright.

“So,” Roy started, “Should I even ask why you’re injured?”

“You could guess and probably hit it square on the head, Mustang.”

“Okay…you hit on some man’s woman and you both slugged it out in a bar fight.” Roy smirked.

“…bastard,” Ed mumbled. Roy tightened the knot squeezing Ed’s torso.

“What the Fuck?!?” Ed yelled.

“Sorry I slipped.” Roy grinned.

Ed adjusted his head on Roy’s shoulder. They both sat there like that for a few minutes before either said anything.

“So you really don’t care?” Ed whispered.

“Of course I do,” Roy said softly. “I’m surprised actually.”

“Why?” Ed wondered.

“Because on any normal sized individual it would have been a scrape, but on such a small figure like yourself it could’ve been life threatening.” Roy stated.

“God Damnit, you son of a bit…” Ed cringed in pain from flailing again.

“Calm down or you’ll hurt yourself again.” Roy laughed.

Ed saw the way the colonel laughed and felt something genuine come from it. The colonel got up and gathered everything around them and put the unused items away and threw the rest away except for Ed’s cloths. He came back in the room and saw Ed laying back with his hand over his forehead.

“Want something to drink?” Roy asked.

“…no, thanks.” He said softly.

“Now Fullmetal, don’t make me feel my age.” Roy smirked.

“I said NO!” He yelled.

Roy came back to the couch and knelt next to Ed placing a glass of cold water on the table behind him. Ed noticed the colonel staring at him and he turned away blushing.

“God, I hate the way he looks at me sometimes…” Ed said to himself. He thought about the past events and blushed harder remembering the way it felt when the colonel touched him. Ed froze when he felt Roy move his hand and replace it with his own.

“You shouldn’t lie Edward.” Roy said sternly.

“You’re one to talk.” He fired quickly, blushing harder as he felt Roy’s hands start to move around his face.

“You’re getting a fever.” Roy said.

“How do you know, do you feel it in your old bones, are the winds changing?” He stated.

“No,” Roy mumbled angrily, “You’re burning up and your face is red.”

“…maybe if you’d stop touching me it’d stop.” Ed said out loud.

“What was that Ed?” Roy smiled.

“What?” Ed looked confused.

The colonel ran his hand down the side of Ed’s neck softly raising his hand off his collarbone. He laughed when he heard only a distasteful grunt come from Ed.

Ed didn’t know what to say so he wriggled as far into the couch as he could all the while trying avoid eye contact with Roy. Ed couldn’t help but feel…kind of aroused when the colonel touched him. Ed had never been touched so gently and sincerely before.

“Why did you help me?” Ed stammered.

Roy took a sip of the water as Ed asked his question and raised his eyebrow at it.

“Simple put…I was bored.”

“You really are a bastard colonel.” Ed grunted.

“Here drink some.” Roy said and held out the glass for Ed to take.

“I said I was fine.” Ed scolded.

“It’s nice and cold,” Roy taunted. “It’ll cool you down or instead how ‘bout a cold shower?”

“Fuck you!” Ed blushed.

Roy took a huge swig of water and grabbed Ed’s jaw turning his head towards him and forced their lips together. Ed’s heart almost exploded from the sudden burst of speed. Ed finally opened his mouth and excepted the water swallowing quickly.

“Refreshing?” Roy whispered into Ed’s ear.

“No.” Ed lied.

“Tired?” Roy asked.

“…yeah,” Ed trailed off.

Roy smiled to himself then swept Ed into his arms again. Ed let out a surprising yelp as Roy’s hands met bare flesh again.

“What’re you doing?” Ed flustered.

“You said you were tired.”

Roy took Ed into his bedroom and sat him on a chair next to the bed and wondered over to the dresser. Ed glanced around the room half asleep. Roy returned with soft pants and a light shirt for Ed to sleep in and laid them on the bed side.

“Here let me help.” Roy stated.

“…but?” Ed blushed.

“I’m not letting you bleed all over my bed,” Roy said flatly. He knelt down in front of Ed and slid off his shoes and his belt then he started to unbutton Ed’s pants. Roy felt Ed squirm under his touch as he tried pulling his pants from around his waist. “Ed…relax!” Ed blushed deeper again as Roy finally got him to his shorts. Roy reached over to the bed and grabbed the bottoms and slid Ed’s legs slowly through them, Ed lifted himself off the chair a little and Roy slid them the rest of the way up. Roy reached over again and grabbed the unbuttoned shirt and placed it behind Ed so he could slide his own arms through them. Roy went to button up the shirt but Ed stopped him.

“I’m a little hot right now…”

Roy smiled at Ed as Ed blushed obviously to him. Roy helped Ed up and laid him on his bed and fixed the covers so they were only partly on Ed’s body. Ed watched Roy as he headed over to the dresser again and pulled out a pair of pants. Ed shifted as he watched Roy slide his shirt over his head and discard it on the floor. Ed never noticed how slender the colonel was. Ed then thought of something he would’ve never thought about the colonel and blushed a deep red. Roy then started to unbuckle his jeans and noticed Ed watching. Ed quickly turned away hoping Roy didn’t notice. Roy slid off his jeans and replaced them with the pair he had pulled out. Ed glanced back toward him as he walked over to the bed and slid under the covers. Ed blushed as he felt Roy laying only inches away from him.

Roy laid on the bed faced away from Edward trying to not worry the boy to death if he was going to do anything. Roy then felt small movements on the bed but only thought of them as Ed turning over. There was a moment of stillness finally. Roy’s eyes shot open as he felt a pair of ice cold hands barely graze his back.

“What’s with you Ed?” He questioned.

“What…?” He exclaimed.

Roy turned over on his other side to face Ed. He then wrapped his own arms around Ed and pulled him into his body.

“You lied to me again, Ed.” Roy whispered. “You’re freezing now.”

Ed closed his eyes from exhaustion and curled into Roy’s body tightly. Roy ran his hand through Ed’s soft hair and brought Ed’s gaze up to his own.

“Don’t let me find you like this again, okay?” He stated.

Ed smiled and nodded back at him. “I’ll try.”

Roy’s heart sank into his stomach when he saw Ed smile like that. Ed could feel how fast the colonel’s heart was beating now. Roy leaned toward Ed and unsurely placed a small kiss on his lips. Ed ran his hand down Roy’s abdomen slowly and then kissed the colonel back a little harder. Roy placed a hand on Ed’s cheek and softly ran his thumb across it. Ed leaned into his palm and closed his eyes waiting for another kiss. Roy noticed Ed’s want and placed another kiss on his lips this time he ran his tongue across Edward’s lips. Roy smiled as Ed opened his mouth and let him inside. He slid his tongue into Ed’s mouth slowly rubbing his tongue against Ed’s. Ed wrapped his arm lightly around Roy’s waist bringing them closer together to deepen the kiss. Ed quickly took a deep breath of air as he felt Roy’s hands start massaging his tense muscles on his lower back.

“…Roy,” Ed quietly moaned.

“Feeling better?” Roy asked placing a kiss on Ed’s forehead.

“…yeah, thank you,” Ed yawned.

Roy continued to massage Ed’s back softly as Ed curled closer to Roy’s body. Roy let out a reassuring sigh feeling Ed start to relax against him.
