Possible Responses to Desecration

By Sefiru

This set of drabbles was inspired
by the story Desecration by Vixen. Essentially, that story left me
yelling “What happened next?!”

So I wrote these five possible
results. Of course some of them raise more questions than they answer ^^;; I also
tried to keep the mood and theme of the original, so no sugar-coated
reconciliation scene here. Please read the original story first so you know
what’s going on.

Warnings: R. No sex. Language,
violence, references to rape, torture and suicide. Goku/Vegeta, Goku/Trunks

Disclaimer: I don’t own
Dragonball Z or make money from it. Additionally I don’t own Desecration, that
would be Vixen.

#1 Alternate

Confused, Trunks shifted his
gaze between his father and the weeping Goku. Sudden rage seized him. “Dad! I
thought you had his permission!” Vegeta just laughed and walked out of the
room. After a long moment Trunks went and gathered Goku into his arms, still
shaking with anger. “That bastard has finally gone too far,” he growled. And
then, gently stroking the older man’s hair: “I’ve wanted you a long time, but
not like this. And I refuse to be used in someone else’s schemes.” Goku merely
curled up tighter  against his chest;
even if this wasn’t who he wanted, at least it was someone who cared.

#2 Repetitive

“We’ve got big trouble,” Piccolo
announced. “Goku’s gone crazy; he’s already attacked two villages and killed
all of their inhabitants.” Vegeta smirked and the Z fighters stared at him.
“Okay, Vegeta, what did you do to him?” Krillin demanded. “I knocked him off
his pedestal, that’s what. Made him feel what it’s like to have his pride
ground in the dirt.” Trunks didn’t look at the others. “But Goku’s acting a lot
like you used to,” Bulma commented. “Which makes me wonder, Vegeta: who did you
love?”

#3 Feral

He crouched under the overhang, suppressing his ki to the
minimum and waiting for the searchers to go away. He had thought they were his
friends, once, but now he knew the truth. All of their sweet words, their
comforts and plentiful food were just bait in a trap. They wanted him to come
close so that they could use him and then throw him away. He wouldn’t fall for
that again. There was plenty to eat out here, and he was more than strong
enough to catch it; clear water to drink, and caves to shelter him from the
weather; that was all he really needed. People. He’d had enough of them.

#4 Unbroken

It took days for the initial
pain to fade, which was reasonable; he’d never been wounded this deeply before.
A senzu bean would not heal this hurt. But in one way it was like all his
previous injuries – once the shock wore off, he felt an elemental desire to
fight back. What doesn’t kill us, makes us stronger. You should have
finished me off, Vegeta
. He might lose the first round, but never the
battle. And nobody, nobody made mock with his heart and escaped the consequences.
He knew exactly how to accomplish his objective, too; after all, Vegeta had
tried on him the things he imagined would work on himself. One way or
another, Vegeta, I will have you
. Next time, it would be the prince
shackled down on that table.

#5 Deprived

He kicked the headstone again. A
year. A whole year had passed since that day, and he still hadn’t put it behind
him. He’d intended to break the idiot, to humiliate him as much as possible, and
he’d succeeded. How well he’d succeeded. He hadn’t anticipated Goku reacting
like this. He’d been pleased at first, but almost immediately he noticed how …
dull life had become without him around. Sparring brought no satisfaction, and
even the blood of a fresh kill turned to ashes in his mouth. He kicked the
headstone. Damn it, the idiot had been right. And it was too late to do
anything about it.
