Meekos
WARNINGS: NC-17. AU. AR. OOC. Angst. Rape, sort of. That’s all for the moment.
Okay so I suck at summaries, but have I ever led you astray……I mean when it really matters!! I am still working on my other stories, but I couldn’t let something like this go. Read on and enjoy, let me know what you guys think.

Meeko (me-KO) sing.—1. (pronoun) Name that any of the supernatural beings tied directly to the magick of the Earth, also called Gaia, call themselves. 2. A slang, slur, or insult used by humans in a derogatory manor when addressing a Meeko. Meekos-(me-KOZ) pl.

For starters let me give some back round or this may be really confusing. But it probably will be anyway.
MEEKO-Earth spirit with magical ability. Eternally young, none of them look over twenty-five. Takes form of animals, plant, elements and other things as needed. Such as fairies, fire spirits, water sprites, rock gnomes and so on. Most have wings and can fly. Humanity has killed of most of the Meekos; some however remain illegally alive in captivity, even though they were to be wiped out. There are different Clans of Meekos. All the water sprites would belong to one Clan, the air spirits to another and so on. Think of a Clan as a village, only they don’t always live together. Meekos are not immortal, however the average lifespan is about 1000 years. Meekos heal very fast. A flesh wound from a bullet will heal in a day or less, magical injuries take longer to heal. They can die of starvation and thirst. When a Meeko dies they become one with the spirit of the Earth. They do not die of sickness, however some may die of an injury they can’t heal. Before the Mages began hunting them with magick it was usually old age.
MAGE-Human with magical abilities.
N-MAGE or Non-Mage-normal human without magical abilities.
A SPIKE-a sudden outburst of magical energy.
MAGICK-magick can be felt by anyone else who has magical abilities as well. It is used by focusing the will and ability to do certain things within the realm that it pertains to.
EXAMPLE: A fire spirit would be able to control fire or bring fire to life. A water spirit would be able to bring water from deep in the Earth or change the course of a stream. Different strengths can do different things. A weak air talent might be able to bring a slight breeze, but a strong one could cause a tornado.
SOUL CUFFS-Are bracelets that have been magical tied to a Meekos’ soul by Mages. It suppresses the ability to do magick but does not sever the tie between the Meeko and Gaia (Earth Goddess and source of a Meekos’ power.) Soul cuffs do not hinder a winged Meekos ability to fly.
SEX AND REPRODUCTION
SEX- Physical contact is NOT REQUIRED for Meekos to have sex. They can have sex in the conventional physical ways, either M/F, F/F, or M/M. But sex is always a spiritual act and a merging of the magical abilities as well as the soul takes places. Therefore when Meekos have sex it is always a spiritual act and often a spiritual and physical act and is not taken lightly.
REPRODUCTION AND CHILDREN-When two or more Meekos decide to have a child their magical abilities and souls must merge, as well as their bodies, with the intent to form a new life. They don’t always have a child from this, but usually do. The union forms a seed, which grows into a plant. The plant, which varies depending on the Clan, grows fruits pods that will ripen into a young Meeko. The child pushes out of the fruit fully formed and looks to be about ten years old in human terms. They already have good grasp of Gaiaian, the Meeko language. It is commonplace for more than one child to be born from the same plant; they are considered brothers and sister. Having twins from the same fruit is very rare. And only having one child is rare as well. Both or all parents, as more than two Meekos can form a child, help care for the children as well as other Clan members. The society is very family oriented. At the age of twenty years a Meeko is fully grown physical and is considered an adult, they may mature more over the years or may stay looking as young as twenty. Because a child does not have any of the same DNA that its family members do and the soul is unique, they do not have the same restrictions in bloodline that humans do. It is not uncommon for siblings to have children together, but normally not with their parents as they are seen as caregivers and not potential mates. Not all children from the same parents are considered siblings.
The Parents have children A & B from one tree, and then have children C & D from a second tree. A & B are siblings, C & D are siblings, but the two set are not siblings because they are not from the same tree, even though they are from the same Parents. They would call each other “the Children of my Parents” to show that they are related in some way but would not call them “my Sibling”.
Children call each parent something different depending on the couple. If it is a F/F pairing they may call one Mother and the other Aunt, because they are related only to their Parents and their Siblings. NOT their Parents brother or sisters, they do not have ‘extended family’ everyone else is part of the Clan, not their family unit. But Clans are very close because everyone is related to everyone else in some way, just not by blood; even parents and children aren’t related by blood.
