The song rings through my apartment as I open the door.

“Maxwell!” I yell towards the kitchen as I walk over to the CD player so I can turn it of . I cannot help smirk when I see Duo’s read face pop out from the kitchen.

“What, I was listening to that.” I glare at him.

“No you’re not. Not while I am home. And what was that racket by the way?” That earns me a death glare from the ‘Death God‘, but I shrug it of as I walk towards my, not by my choice, flat mate. “What are you doing Maxwell? Not cocking again, the whole place was intoxicated by the fumes last time you tried that stunt.” He shakes his head to me, still with the, if looks could kill, glare.

Okay, I admit it. I do not like him, not a tad. And the ones that are saying otherwise might end up dead. I also have to admit that I have absolutely no idea of why he is in my apartment all the time, why he has decided to live here. Hell, I did not invite him. The only reason we know each other is that we work together, sometimes. We are both active agents at Preventers. Well, I am active, he, he just is there to mess up something.

“So what are you doing to my kitchen Maxwell, and why are you still here?” I walk past him and in to a room of chaos.

“WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY KITCHEN?”

I turn around to send my best, death glare towards him, only to find him missing. Coming home after sixteen hours of work. Tired and hungry, this is NOT the way I wanted to find my kitchen.

“MAXWELL, YOU CAN’T HIDE!”

I walk out from the kitchen again and out to the living room, and whom do I spot underneath my coffee table but young Mr. Maxwell. I stalk towards him, just like the predator stalking its prey.

“Come out Maxwell.” My voice is silky smooth as I stop at the couch. I sit down just as he pops his red head out from under the table.

“I planed to be ready before you came home.” He whispers so low that I almost do not hear him.

“What was that Maxwell?” He crawls completely out from underneath the table and clutches his long mahogany braid towards his chest, gently nipping at the tip. Making him look younger than his eighteen years.

“I tried to clean it for you Zechs.” I shake my head as I stand up.

“The kitchen was spotless when I left for work this morning you, you idiot.” The boy is visible shrinking in front of me.

“Sorry Zechs, really.” I nod as I walk towards the hall. “I’m going out, you better be done with the kitchen before I come back, is that clear?” He nods as he follows me.

“When are you coming back?” I shake my head as I smirk evilly to him.

“Five minutes, five hours. Don’t know yet, so you better get starting.” With that, I open the door and step outside. I take a quick glance at him before shutting the door hard after me and pick up my cell.

“Relena!” I sigh in relief as she picks up.

“Relena it’s me, you home yet or still at work?”

“Work, why do you ask?”

“Maxwell!” The answer is clear to everybody, because everybody know I hate him… no hate is not a strong enough word, I loath him. Yea that is right. And everybody knows that, that is everybody except Relena.

“What about Maxwell?”

I moan loudly as I walk down the stairs, and into the garage. “He has completely destroyed my kitchen. Why I am letting him stay, is beyond my reach at the moment. Another second inside and I would have killed him, I’m sure.” I hear the soft laughter from Relena.

“He loves you nee-san. And I believe you are the only one that doesn’t see it.”

I moan again. “But…”

“And you love him too, don’t you?”

Relena breaks me of. I gasp for air and have to lean towards my car.

“I DO NOT LOVE HIM RELENA.”

I yell at her when I have caught my breath again. Only to discover that she have hung up on me. I close the phone cursing and get in my car. I do not turn on the engine. I only sit still, thinking of what Relena said to me.

I do not love Maxwell, hell I don’t want him near me.

However, why is he then living in my apartment?

Why haven’t I thrown him out a long time a go?

I ask myself those questions over and over, but I do not find an answer to my like. I step out of my car again and make a quick glance at my watch. A quarter past eleven. I have been sitting in my car thinking for two hours. I shake my head as I straighten my Preventers uniform and start walking the long stairway up to my flat. Well, not long in the sens of long, but long in the way of, what the hell is waiting me when I reach my flat. I open the door to the hallway, walking fast towards my own door when I hear it, the exceptionally loud song from my apartment.

I run the last few meters and open my door, actually quite annoyed. However, my anger melts of me when I spot the red cheeked boy lying on my sofa, sleeping.

The last of the song fades away and the flat is left with an eerie silence. I walk over to the young boy on my couch and lift him up, not really thinking of what I am doing, and I carry him to the spare bedroom, that he is currently occupying. I put him into the bed and pull a blanket over him before turning of the light and leaving. Knowing from experience about his nightmares, I let his door stay slightly opened as I walk in to my kitchen, only to be met by another chock. No wonder he was sleeping, the kitchen is again spotless. I walk to the table to sit down, only to spot a note lying on my usual place.

*Hi, just wanted to say sorry again. I really didn’t mean to make you angry. There is some food to you in the fridge, only to be heated up. Don’t worry it is takeout, Chinese. Enjoy. Love Duo.*

I sit down with at the table, still with the note in hand, not doing anything. I only let my thoughts flow.

“Zechs why are you still up?” The quiet voice from the kitchen opening startles me out of my thoughts and I turn around.

“You ought to sleep Zechs it’s past twelve and there is an important meeting with the Preventers in the morning.” I shake my head to the young boy.

“I’m fine Maxwell, so leave me alone.” I stand up from the chair and walk towards the door opening. Duo does not make any motions to move away and I glare at him. “Do you mind Maxwell; I’m trying to get past here.” He shrinks visibly, but frankly, I don’t care.

I push myself past him and in to the living room where I sit on the sofa and turn on the TV. Deciding to pull an all-nighter I turn on the news channel, and the first thing that greets me are the announcement of the engagement of Princess Relena Darlian-Peacecraft and the famous Gundam pilot Heero Yuy. I moan loudly as I putt my head in my hands.

”Screw you Relena, how about a tiny warning to your brother next time.” Heero Yuy was also my nemesis, and kind of still are. We have never gotten along. And I don’t think that will happen in the future either, even with him marrying my sister, the ruler of earth nation.

I lean back in the couch and let my head rest on the back, and fall sound asleep.

“Zechs. You have to wake up Zechs. The meeting starts in twenty minutes.” I open my eyes and meet the piercing violet that are Duo’s.

“What is it Maxwell?” I sit up and push him away.

“The meeting Zechs, it starts in twenty minutes.” I jump up chocked.

“What are you saying Maxwell?” I run to the hall.

“Are you going to the meeting to Maxwell?” I put on a new jacket and open the door.

“Yeah. I… I’m going too.” I roll my eyes and turnaround looking at him.

“Well, what are you waiting for? Get your jacket and shoes on.” The only thing happening him looking at me with his big violet eyes. I sigh and walk out to the hall.

“Get a move on it Maxwell.” I start to walk to the staircase not waiting for him, when I hear him shouting after me.

“Can I really ride with you?”

I nod with out turning around, and I can hear him hurrying. I cringe when he slams my door shut, and can’t help yelling at him. “Easy Maxwell, I want my door to stay where it is.” He runs up to me. “S… sorry Zechs. I… I’m sorry.”
