Somewhere in the Dark

I can still hear your heart beating

Though mine ceased far time ago

Your scent

Your voice

Your essence

Still exists inside me

A gaping hole

Survives where my heart once stood

I gave it to you willingly

And it was torn and bleeding

Yet you refuse to give it back

Are you content with your golden tower

Are you happy knowing you birthed my pain

Was I only your whore

And she the one who held your passion?

You stole from me the only thing I had left

And in your wake, you left only darkness

As I sit here, dying, you laugh

You will never know my pain

Sitting in your ivory palace

And you will never care

You stole from me the only thing that mattered

And left only a hole to fill with plague

You stole from me the only thing I had left

I watch a thin crimson trail

Severed at the heart of the door

The moon has long since turned to black

Is it still your possession?

For you to laugh at and poke ‘til it
bleeds…

I wish I could erase this pain deep inside

Yet even as it settles and

Memories cut, deep rooted

I love you still.
