See No Evil

The childhood forced back upon him by the Black Star Dragonballs had truly been a curse. Goku had outlived them all. Even Vegeta, the only other full-blooded Saiyan in existence. One by one their life force had vanished beyond the reach of the eternal dragon.

He became confined to his home. The walls wouldn't let him leave. They spoke to Goku in whispers that he couldn't quite hear, in voices low and taunting. Sometimes they became the voices of all those he had loved and shared his home with. His wife, whispering sweet words into his ear. His sons, laughing as they were tossed into the air, knowing that their father's strong arms awaited them below. His friends, laughing and joking about the past times.

They were all the past times now, and they were all within his home. So there he stayed, never daring to move even a foot into the sunlight outside for fear that, if he did, the voices in the walls would stop and he would truly be alone.

As the time passed, he survived on whatever unfortunate bird or mammal would hop onto or peer over the windowsill. For Goku was faster than any living Earth creature and would capture them before they even had time to blink an eye. Because then they were consumed, often raw, bones and all.

Nothing was moved in his home at all. The beds were not slept in. The table not sat at. The shower not turned on. Because Goku knew that it must remain as it was. That way all the good memories of what he had known would stay there. If he left everything as it was, the voices would continue to talk to him, just as they always had. So he sat in a corner of the living room, out of the way of anything that might be disturbed if he were anywhere else. The corner was a few inches from the windowsill he took his prey from. Easily within grabbing distance.

With time came dust and dirt. It gathered without notice until it had grown into great blankets, covering everything within the house, making it look dim and gloomy. But that was fine. If Goku tried cleaning, he knew that he would knock over lamps and break dishes. The house, while covered in dust, was still the same. The voices still talked to him. And that was fine.

Then, one day, a small spider fell down in front of him. It hung suspended in the air on its almost invisible silk, struggling and thrashing. Goku couldn't be sure, but it appeared that perhaps the small creature had caught itself and was having trouble setting some legs free from its thread.

Goku did not pity the creature. Instead he felt a deep loathing for it. As soon as it had appeared, the voices had stopped. Because the spider wasn't normal. It would have never been allowed into his home. So it had to be destroyed. It had to go. Everything had to be normal again.

As Goku became consumed by his hatred for the spider, he heard the voices speak clearly for the first time. All those he had ever known and loved spoke in union to chant into his ear.

Kill it! Crush it! Destroy it!

He reached out, cupping his palm underneath the small creature just as he would have done if he did intend to help it.

Kill it! Crush it! Destroy it!

The spider managed to untangle itself and fall the short distance into Goku's waiting hand.

Kill it! Crush it! Destroy it!

Goku's fist closed, feeling the spider's body crushed into his palm.

A dizzying rush descended upon him, wrapping around his head and making him feel happy and sick at the same time. Demolishing evil and protecting his home was a joy that he had not felt for such a long time. It was what he lived for. That and nothing else. He wanted to keep feeling that wonderful sensation that came when knowing that he was keeping what he loved safe.

Looking up, Goku saw a large square of sunlight falling upon the bare wall. He followed the sunlight to where it penetrated his home through the very window he sat beside. As far as Goku knew, it was the only way anything could enter. Including the spider.

The spider had come from out there. That was where every single one of his battles had been. That was where Goku knew he would find the evil that needed to be destroyed. He had to kill it. He had to keep his home safe. It was the only way the voices would keep talking to him.

He stood up, feeling his body creak and strain after hardly being moved for such a long time. Goku stretched in the same way he would just before facing an enemy. It never hurt to keep up traditions like that. One could never be too careful concerning the evil that threatened his home.

Goku hopped onto the windowsill and then launched himself out and onto the grass. Then he was away into the forest, knowing that evil loved hiding in such cold and dark places.

It wasn't long until he found some. When faced with the challenge of the righteous, evil could never resist showing its face. The ground shook with approaching doom before there was a roar and a dinosaur burst through the trees. It roared again, spraying Goku with the saliva that dripped from its mouth.

Kill it! Crush it! Destroy it!

Bursting into his Super Saiyan transformation, Goku felt the disgusting saliva evaporate from his face. Evil came before him, threatened his home. And had the vile nerve to spit at him.

Goku felt something snap and the sickening, terrifying rush of something plummeting over an unseen edge. Then he was screaming and was blinded by flashes of golden light. He rushed forward, building large amounts of ki around his hands and arms to tear and thrash. Whenever his fingers touched something that felt like cold, scaled flesh, he ripped at it. Destroying it. Because evil had to be stopped. It had to be demolished.

Then he blinked and saw the carnage beneath him. He did not remember pushing his body into the air, but now Kakarott could see the blood and lumps of flesh splattered over the ground and twisted into fleshly-fallen trees.

Had he not seen the evil before destroying it, even Kakarott would have never guessed that the mess below him was once a large and mighty dinosaur.

Suddenly he heard the sound of squeaking from multiple mouths. Squeaking that was high-pitched and managed to smash right through his eardrums and rattle his brains. Turning slowly in the air, Kakarott saw the nest hidden nearby that contained four miniature versions of the evil that was now shredded and thrown over the forest vegetation.

The spawn of evil. They couldn't live, none of them. All four would grow up to be just like their mother, who had threatened his home and spat at him as she did so. And Kakarott could never allow that.

Kill it! Crush it! Destroy it!

A ki blast of barely any effort was all that was needed to make four fresh splatters of blood and heavily charred flesh.

The rush that came from the kills hit Kakarott hard and fast, and felt so good that he threw his head back and moaned into the wind. He needed more. He knew that he must seek out more evil to destroy.

Kakarott flew higher, out of the trees and high above the forest until he could see for many miles ahead of him. He was the last surviving Saiyan. That small thought brought a smirk to his lips as he thought of how his prince must be spinning in his grave, knowing that a third-class warrior had outlived royalty.

There was no Vegetasei, so Earth was his home. His kingdom. And Kakarott would never allow this planet to fall as his Saiyan home had under the hands of Frieza. Anything that threatened his planet would be destroyed, just as the evil of the spider and the dinosaurs had been.

All of a sudden Kakarott's body jolted as an almost-forgotten sensation shot through it. It was the feeling that came when detecting a power that was far too high to ever be from a human. Himself aside, Kakarott knew that only humans populated the planet. So anything with a power level must be a threat, so had to be destroyed.

Kill it! Crush it! Destroy it!

Filled with the desire to experience knowing that evil had been obliterated once again, Kakarott sped off in a blaze of Saiyan power. The ground moved in a blur far below him, but it went completely unnoticed by Kakarott as he kept all his attention focused upon the unusually large power level. A sinking disappointment had settled heavily into his stomach when Kakarott had realised that the power was so small compared to him, it may as well be another spider.

So, he decided, he would just have to make this kill even better. Spill evil's blood. Tear its flesh. Rip away its life. Make it sorry it had ever even thought of coming to his home.

When he was right below the power level, Kakarott suddenly stopped and plummeted down to the ground. He landed with a crash, scarring the rocky outcrop with great cracks. But his own body didn't shudder in the slightest.

Tien's did. Kakarott recognised him from the back of Goku's mind and had drawn the knowledge that this being was able to read power levels in the same way he did. So he had known that Kakarott was coming. It must have been his sudden and somewhat destructive entrance that surprised him, Kakarott decided.

"G-Goku?" Tien blinked hard before realising that the figure standing before him wasn't merely a figment of his lonely imagination. "Goku," he repeated the name with a growing smile. "It's been too long. Looks like the curse of long life exists in both our species."

He spoke the last sentence with a sinking heart, closing his eyes and hanging his head in mourning as he did so. But Kakarott saw that only two of his eyes closed. The third in the middle of Tien's forehead not only didn't close but didn't look away from him.

Kakarott was suddenly hit with memories that not even Goku had really known. He had seen that third eye looking at him so many times. More than he could even begin to count. Because he had always seen it, but never noticed it. The eye watched him, it always had been. It had seen his every move throughout his life.

Imagine what evil could do with that sort of information. Kakarott suddenly felt sick with a shameful fear as he wondered on what exactly that eye had seen. Of what it would be able to tell evil.

Kill it! Crush it! Destroy it!

With a wide sweep of his arm, Kakarott released a white hot ki blast from his hand. It struck Tien's head and knocked him to the floor. As he fell, a large burst of blood tore past his skull to splatter in a gruesome line on the ground.

The eye was still open. Still looking at him.

Kill it! Crush it! Destroy it!

"G-Goku?"

Tien looked at him with wide eyes and small pupils. His face had gone pale and was now showing all the small fine lines that littered the skin and showed his age.

"Why do you keep looking at me?" Kakarott suddenly screamed, feeling an unexpected burst of rage that rushed up far too quickly for him to even attempt to push back. But evil didn't deserve to have him hold back in the slightest. "You're always looking at me with that eye. For years you've always looked at me. But Goku was too much of a fucking idiot to notice it even a little bit."

"Goku-"

If there had been more planned in Tien's plea, it would never come out. It was stopped when Kakarott struck his chin with a sharp kick, forceful enough to take off Tien's head if he had been an ordinary human. But he wasn't. And Kakarott wanted the evil that had remained for so long to suffer.

"Goku isn't here anymore," he told his victim, watching the growing terror in his eyes. "Goku is dead. I'm a Saiyan now."

A memory suddenly dislodged itself from the very back of his mind. Kakarott remembered Goku's fight with Vegeta after the prince had allowed himself to become possessed with the strength of a Majin. He remembered how Goku had been restrained to the mountains and how humiliated he had felt.

The burning shame rushed up again and Kakarott resisted the urge to squirm. He longed to feel the wonderful satisfaction that the prince must have experienced knowing that the enemy was restrained to allow him to do as he pleased.

He pointed two fingers at Tien's body, still laying on the floor. A lustful pleasure arose with the mere gesture of Tien flinching.

Four flashes and the body was pinned. Just as Kakarott had expected, his victim began to struggle. He allowed Tien to thrash, enjoying the fear that he saw in the three eyes as many jumbled ideas of horror rushed through the triclops' mind.

"Why do you always look at me with that eye?" he asked again. His voice was lower and calmer this time. Yet it held so much more threat and danger. "For so many years you looked at me with that eye. But it was never noticed."

Tien's mouth opened, but only the most strained of squeaks came out. His teeth gritted and the cheeks on his pale face became coloured again.

Kakarott blinked and another of Goku's memories flashed before his eyes. A young ChiChi nervously gibbering words of marriage and husbands and wonderful celebrations. She had a blush almost exactly the same as Tien's upon her chubby cheeks.

He erupted with laughter, clutching his chest for fear that his ribs may rip from it if he didn't. The colour on Tien's face went darker as he twisted away as much as he could with shame.

"Is that why?" Kakarott managed to force the words between the involuntary lurches of his chest. "You admired him a lot more than you admitted?" A malicious, twisted grin spread across Kakarott's face at this revelation that had suddenly been forced into the open after so many years. A few more and it would have died with Tien to become lost and forgotten in the past.

He could see the eye. Still open. Still looking at him. Even with Tien's immense shame, it still looked at him.

Kill it! Crush it! Destroy it!

A new path for humiliating his enemy was suddenly uncovered and Kakarott intended to use it. He had to make an example of this pathetic being. He had to show every other scrap of evil that would ever exist what would happen to them if they dared even have the idea of destroying his home.

Kneeling down beside Tien, he pressed a hand into his chest hard enough to feel the ribs press into his palms. The muscles spasmed involuntary. An action that Kakarott suspected was due to both the sudden pressure and the feeling of the touch that Tien had always wanted but never had. He pushed down, harder and harder.

There was a crack. Tien screamed, then choked on the blood that rushed up his throat. But Kakarott did not relieve the pressure from his hand.

"I can feel your heart," he told his victim. "And it's beating fast. Because of the shame of having your dirty little secret thrown into the open. Because of the touch you always desired. Because of the knowledge that the things your eye could tell evil will die at these hands."

"Wha-what?" Tien coughed out. "Wha-at evil? Go-Goku, I'd never-"

"Save your breath," said Kakarott, squeezing his other hand over Tien's throat with enough pressure so that only the most minimal amounts of air would be able to get through. "Always had a think for the monkey boy, eh? I heard a saying about monkeys that humans have once. Know what it is?"

With his mouth filling with blood and air barely able to pass in and out of his breaking lungs, all Tien could do was shake his head once.

"It's about three of them. Three monkeys." Kakarott removed his hand from Tien's chest, allowing his victim the relief of the pressure on his heart vanishing. "Those monkeys do what I am now. They prevent evil. Hear no evil."

He plucked Tien's ears off with all the ease of a child pulling the petals from a daisy.

"Speak no evil."

He reached into Tien's mouth that gaped open as he tried to breath, choke and scream. The bloodied tongue was ripped out and burned away as Kakarott flared up a large ki in the fingers that held the slippery muscle.

"See no evil."

He squeezed his fingers between the eye that was still staring at him and the skin around it. It came away easily with a quick flick of his wrist.

"I'm not sure if that's the exact order," Kakarott said as he turned the eye over in his hand, watching in curious fascination as the curves caught the sunlight. "But you understand the basic idea."

Finally releasing the grip he had on Tien's throat, Kakarott watched with a growing lust as blood spilled from his mouth in bursts as he choked. Some of it soaked the clothing covering his chest. Some of it fell back into his mouth; enhancing his bodies need to violently cough.

Kakarott squeezed his fist, squashing the eye in his palm and felt its remains slither between his fingers. Killing it. Crushing it. Destroying it.

Leaning forward, he ran the tip of his tongue around the edge of the empty eye socket. A rush of pleasure was enhanced when he felt the body beneath him jolt again at the touch. He circled the socket with his tongue again, pressing down harder and, just for fun, moaning softly.

It briefly flashed through Kakarott's mind that the screaming had stopped. But that didn't matter. Tien's chest was still rising and falling rapidly. He was still alive. He was still feeling.

Scooping his tongue down into the socket, Kakarott gathered as much blood as he could. There was a small whine of pain from Tien as his strength was so rapidly sucked away.

Allowing himself a brief glance to the side, Kakarott noticed the cracks in the ground that came from the ki restraints. The fact that Tien had been putting up a fight was something that Kakarott found immensely pleasing. The best sort of evil for a Saiyan to face was evil that attempted to fight back. The spider hadn't. The dinosaurs hadn't. So that had to be why this kill was so much more satisfying.

With the blood on his tongue, Kakarott plunged it into Tien's mouth. He smeared it onto the remains that had been left when he had torn the tongue away and destroyed it. He twisted his head, moved it from side to side. He tasted as much as he could, swirling his tongue around in the blood that filled Tien's mouth and slowly gargled down his throat.

Tien's throat rumbled with a noise that was so soft Kakarott barely heard it, even being so close. It was a noise of pain, a noise of fear. And a little bit of pleasure from getting what he wanted, Kakarott fancied. Even if it was never how he would have wanted it.

The screams had ended long ago. The noises from Tien's throat could barely be heard. Kakarott knew that his victim was rapidly reaching the end of his life and broke the twisted version of a kiss. He would only allow evil to leave if it died at his own hands.

"You should be nothing but grateful for what I've done for you. Because I still have Goku's memories of the good times. I've given you pleasure before you go. No other evil will be granted such a thing."

He settled his hand upon Tien's chest once again. Listened to a forced, ragged breath. Then plunged his hand down to rip through the flesh and muscle, smash through the rips and tear out Tien's heart.

"Always wanted to give me your heart, didn't you?" he told the fresh corpse and scoffed at his own words. "Doesn't love come out with the most embarrassing lines you've ever heard?"

Taking a large bite of Tien's heart, Kakarott surveyed the land before him. He was rid of the evil for now. But it would be back. It always came back. It was a repulsive cockroach, squirming and breeding in the darkness. And he was the light that would have it scuttling in terror.
