Disclaimer:
I do not own Dragon Ball Z/Gt or any of it's characters. I do not make money off of this fanfic.

AN: I decided to take the challenge of writing a fanfiction based off of prompts. There are 64 prompts, so there should be around that many chapters. Some I have combined though since a few chapters are nothing but drabbles. It is also inspired by the song A place in the dirty by Marylin Manson.
Forget all events in GT, but I do have one concept; Black Star Dragon Balls, but not any other... I plan on this taking place only a couple of years after Buu... and Uub's training was cut short when this plot started. hehe

Chapter One: 2 a.m.
2 a.m.
It was two in the morning and the Saiyan prince still could not get to sleep. He groaned as his fist slammed into the mattress below him, frustrated with his lack of sleep that was already plaguing him. He wouldn't admit that he was a bit anxious to actually be doing something during their time of peace.
Sure, things have gotten brighter for him since Buu.
Sure, he was happy with living a normal family life style.
Still…
Still, he had the blood of a Saiyan pumping through his veins. Without the excitement of a fight or an adventure of sorts – it was almost like he didn't have anything to live for anymore. After thinking about all that, he did have a reason to be anxious about this. The only problem he had with admitting it is that the adventure and possible fights were not the reason.
No, in the normal waking hours for those on earth he was going to leave and go out into space for who knows how long with his rival; his rival that was now really something along the lines of a best friend of sorts. Apparently there were these things called the black star dragon balls that no one had even heard of until the day before. Some stupid bad guy from Goku's past had to end up trying to still those damn things and try to take over the earth. He failed at that part, but he still ended up making some absorb wish on accident. These dragon balls then spread themselves out into the universe to make things obnoxious for the Saiyan. Vegeta wasn't even sure of all the details that happened. They weren't important to him anyways.
The fact that Vegeta was going to end up on a ship for almost a year with Kakarot searching for those dragon balls was what he was anxious for. The proud Saiyan flinched at his own thoughts of the other male. He didn't even know why he bothered with the thoughts, especially of the many that he wasn't going to start to run through his head at that point.
He grunted and turned over on his side, just to come face to face with his knew enemy. The time. Was it often that he stayed up until two in the morning thinking about Kakarot? Yes, though in the past it wasn't exactly in the same way as it was now. In the past it was mostly of an anger he had for the third class warrior. He chuckled to himself; it was funny how his thoughts went from wanting to kill the other to a strange admiration that he would keep to himself.
2 a.m. was a perfect time to think about someone in secret and get away with it. The only time that Vegeta would ever actually admit to himself anything.
