Prologue
He was the first to appear at their usually spot for the evening’s entertainment only to find said entertainment already engaged in the usually taunt and BS that set these epic events into motion. Of course, it was more the shorter one tossing out taunts then his taller counterpart. Capricorn made himself comfortable on a fluffy cloud overlooking the surrounding area and its two occupants. His deep green eyes gazed down at the men below. Once again the smaller of the duo had sought out his larger opponent demanding a fight for Supremacy; he seemed oblivious to the fact his taller champion was more interest in the challenge then the outcome. Capricorn chuckled to himself, the smaller one, Vegeta, reminded him of his hot headed friend Aquarius in many ways.
His friend Aquarius was a short and slender man with dark brown hair and deep honey colored eyes, deceitfully innocent in appearance. It was his attitude that gave him a powerful aura making him seem much larger than he was. He was impulsive, never think things through, and stubborn. Overconfident to a fault and sometimes self centered; he often got himself in over his head and needed Capricorn to step in. But, even with his faults he had many good qualities: he could be very kind, polite with impeccable manners, and often he would step in to help quarrelling spirits without being asked. He also very devoted to his relationships, be they lover or friends. He was loyal. Capricorn smiled solidifying the belief the mortal below was indeed like Aquarius.
The larger one whose name was Kakarot, but went by the name of Goku, Capricorn felt more akin to. With big round eyes, larger build, and a strong jaw line they share some physical features. Both appreciated nature, could be found watching birds building nets and hatching young completely entrapped. Protective and caring for loves ones, they drew strength from that love and need to protect. Goku would listen and gave advice to his friends much like he had on many occasions given Aquarius or the woman Aries.
He smiled to himself fondly. It’d sure shocked the others when he and Aquarius had taken to each other; polar opposites with completely different points of view. At times he wondered himself how they remained close friends throughout the ages. Their friendship first started off with a fight. Aquarius, being the person he was, confronted him ranting about what a waste of time it was watching and caring for the mortals. He argued back, saying mortals only needed their guidance and love in times of darkness. They shot each other many point of views and it ended with Aquarius grunting and leaving him behind. It was only several days later Aquarius came back and took a seat next to him looking down at the primitive mortals once more. Aquarius inquired after the nature of mortals and how and why Capricorn helped them. It started their friendship all those eons ago. Now they just sit and watch no longer helping the mortals, who had developed enough no longer needing guidance.
He cringed when he saw Vegeta land a fierce blow to Goku’s ribs. Those two had been a great source of entertainment for perhaps over a decade or two now; he’d lost track of time watching them. Their continuous struggle and rivalry has been no small feat. They were entertaining no matter what time or dimension they existed in, but Capricorn had a fondness for this pair in particular.
“Capricorn you started without me. What did I miss?”
Capricorn smiled up to his friend noticing the new red and golden robes he wore. “Nice garb, Virgo I take it?”
“Ah, yes. The woman is relentless with gaining my favors.” Aquarius smirked. “I see you still wrap yourself in those old ratty green rags you call robes.” He smirked.
“They are quite comfortable, that is all I need my friend.”
“So what have I missed thus far?” Aquarius looked down smiling at the fierceness of Vegeta.
“Vegeta came demanding a match so see who is superior. So far it could go either way. Well that is until Goku powers up to the third form.” Capricorn sighed. “Just like every other time.”
“Ah so this isn’t a spar then. Yes, your right, but his third form doesn’t last long. All Vegeta needs to do is keep on his toes till Goku wears himself out. Don’t forget Vegeta is very agile and a great strategist. He may win yet.” Aquarius smirked.
“You always say that Aquarius and we both know the turn out. Goku is a brilliant fighter. You stick with Vegeta because he reminds you of yourself.”
“I stick with the mortals born under my moon Capricorn, much like you stick with Goku because he was born under yours.” Aquarius winked at Capricorn.
Capricorn smiled keeping his eyes on the men below their fist clashing on jaws and chests, kicks released on ribs and necks, and powerful blinding blasts lit the earth below. He frowned as greenery became nothing but upturned and scorched dirt.
“Don’t worry yourself about the plants Capricorn they will grow back.” Aquarius leaned in watching the site below him. A thought accrued.
“We really are bored if we continually watch them even thought we know the outcome. What says you about upping the ante, Capricorn?”
“Another gamble, Aquarius? I don’t think I have much more room left for any of your belongings in my domain.” Capricorn smiled and slapped Aquarius on the shoulder in play.
Aquarius grumbled at the truth in Capricorn words; he had lost more a few trinkets to his fellow deity. He had a weakness for gambling and he favored the underdog. Thinking he wondered how he could make a bet to finally win one over on Capricorn. There was something in Capricorn’s possession he wanted, well ‘needed’, to gain the favor of Gemini, the unpredictable and yet somehow sweet airy woman. Unfortunately, her overprotective twin brother demanded a price for him to even speak to her. An object that belonged to Capricorn and no matter how much he tried his friend did not want to part with it. Then the idea struck him like a lighting bolt. “How about this then Capricorn I bet I can make those two come together as lovers.”
Capricorn looked over to his friend with questionable eyes and raised a brow. “Make ‘these’ two lovers? Impossible. They have no feelings towards each other beyond their rivalry and hate in Vegeta’s case. Goku only has romantic feelings towards his woman and Vegeta his. How, pray tell, would we bring them together? Even in a lust filled night it wouldn’t happen.”
“Ah, indeed. These two will be difficult, but I have a solution. In some other dimensions we have seen them together as mates or secret lovers. Think about it Capricorn, how exciting it will be placing them in such a situation and watching the outcomes. Think how much boredom we can kill.” Aquarius stood outstretching his hand to help his friend up.
“And how do you purpose we do it?” Capricorn was very curious on how they could achieve the task.
“We show them different world, different possibilities.” Aquarius crossed his arms looking down at the duo growling and baring their teeth at one another. “It won’t be easy, Vegeta is a stubborn one, but listen carefully. We’ll set a time frame, one month to see this through. A three day stay, no longer, in various dimensions of our choosing. I pick one you pick one then you, but they must be world where they are already established as a couple. We will send them into a dimension of our choosing for three days so they could see their counterparts in action so to speak. Then when the three days are up it would be the others turn to send them to their choosing.”
“And how will we decide who goes first if I agree? I guess it would be whoever wins this fight. You’re Vegeta vs. my Goku?”
“No no no we know the outcome of the battle it is always Goku. So instead whoever has the less damage on them. It’s fairer.”
“Sounds about right and what is the prize for the winner of this bet?”
Aquarius pretended to be think, but he already knew his bet. “If I bring them together then I will gain your crystal ball. If you win then…” Aquarius thought hard on what Capricorn could want.
“If you ask for such a prized belonging of mine it would only be fair if I ask one of yours. If I win I want you’re pail that creates the magical brew of confidence.”
“What!” Aquarius stomped crossing his arms in frustration. “I didn’t ask for your lively hood Capricorn! The crystal isn’t as important as my pail! That wager is too high!”
“The crystal means much to me Aquarius. It was the last gift I gave to the mortals. It is sentimental to me,” said Capricorn.
“If it is so important to you then why is it on your floor with robes tossed over it?! My pail is apart of me! I won’t wager it no matter how sure I am of winning.” Aquarius stuck his head high and to the side insulted Capricorn would make such a demand.
Sensing he’d stepped over the line, Capricorn tried to soothe his friend. “Very well then, how about you give me half the contents of the magical brew. You keep your pail.”
Aquarius visible calmed, uncrossing his arms he regard his friend in a less hostile manner. “That sounds much better Capricorn. That I will wager. So is it a bet?”
Capricorn thought hard on the matter it would indeed kill much of the boredom they both shared. Nothing happened any longer up here only the bickering of the other astrological beings. “Give me two days to make my decision Aquarius. I need to think on the matter.”
Aquarius pouted and sat back down on the cloud looking down at the mortals nearly tearing one another apart. “Keep in mind Capricorn whoever has the least amount of damage wins and the victor is the first to send the duo to another dimension.”
“Believe me when I say I won’t.” Capricorn smiled. “So tell me, friend. Why is it you are not taking Virgo up on her offer of companionship? Why pine over the fair lady Gemini?”
Aquarius sighed. “It’s all little things. Virgo is too picky of her food, she works far too hard, and is too much of a know it all. She is acting on loneliness and desperation since Leo left her for Aries. Indeed she is a great woman and I would benefit of having her as a wife, but she is too grounded. Gemini is a gem for sure she is airy and has youthful vitality much like myself.” His expression became wishful as he thought of the woman. “She has a great mind, highly intelligent without being a know it all. Versatile and quick-witted. A rational woman who analyzes all the facts first; she would defiantly keep me in line as you so say I need to be at times. She has a very strong sexual aura and she’s beautiful Capricorn.”
“Seems you’re strung by the feet for her Aquarius.” Capricorn concluded.
Aquarius chuckled lightly shaking his head. “You have no idea Capricorn. I want to approach her badly, but her twin is her damn guard dog.”
“Can you blame him? He’s just protecting his sister. Many wishes to gain her favors. If I was her brother I would be the same.”
“Yes, but he asks for a toll just to talk to her. He’s being selfish asking for material things for himself just so one could speak to her freely.”
“Ah, yes. Taurus had to give one of his bull horns to do so only to end is failure.” Capricorn smiled thinking of the devastated look on Taurus’s face when Gemini shot him down. “Perhaps he knows his sister’s tastes and is just profiting from fools tossing their hearts at her?”
“Taurus was a fool! Such a fate would not befall me. Taurus practically demanded she become his wife and stay within his home to play the roll. No, a woman such as her needs freedom.” Aquarius smiled. “Maybe you should do me a favor and take Virgo out of my hands. You get along very well. Maybe she could fashion you a new green robe because everyone knows you need one.” Aquarius laughed at the blush of Capricorn. It was no secret to Aquarius that his friend desired Virgo, but Capricorn would never voice his like of the woman taking to watching mortals instead of approaching the separated woman.
“She does not like me Aquarius she likes you.”
“She doesn’t know me if she does. She knows you very well in-fact. She just cannot see beyond what’s in front of her, Capricorn. I helped her through a rough time in her life and now she thinks we have love when really I have no such feelings towards her.”
“Then tell her that.” Capricorn scolded.
“Why would I? She makes such fabulous clothes!” laughed Aquarius brushing his hand down his new robe.
Capricorn let loose a growl. “Self centered.”
“Indeed I am Capricorn.” Then he knew exactly why Capricorn wanted his magical brew. It was to build his self confidence. A wicked smile came to his face. “Well, how about if you win this bet I will tell Virgo how I do not have romantic feelings for her.”
Capricorn thought hard he couldn’t let this stipulation pass up. “Very well Aquarius the bet is on. Let the games begin in two days.”
“Why two days from now?” Aquarius asked.
“It gives the two enough time to heal. Or do you plan on sending them out with injuries?”
“Ah, yes. Indeed that makes sense. Very well Capricorn, in two days the game will being and I will not lose this time.” Aquarius smiled shaking Capricorn’s hand solidifying the bet. “Vegeta and Goku don’t have a chance. By the end of the month they will be lovers.” He laughed.
“And if they don’t?”
“Then we gain nothing but something to do Capricorn. It will be very amusing seeing their reactions when they meet their counterparts from different world.” Aquarius and Capricorn both shared in mirth thinking of the many possibilities ahead.
“Wait! Aquarius, how are we going to be able to access the dimensional gates? Libra keeps it under lock and key?”
“Simple we promise the old fool gold. He loves the stuff.” Aquarius explained.
“Indeed he gives anything up for gold but do you think you can part with it?”
“It means nothing to me. What I will win means much more than any gold trinket can bring me.” Aquarius smiled. Confidant he will win the bet.
They both sat in silence smiles plastered to their faces as they thought of the many things that would benefit them from the heavy wager. The prize was grand and if all failed they would find their amusement in the mortal Saiyan men below.
