Summary: Sequel to Little Lost Cat. Vegeta’s impregnated and Kakarot’s been marked. How will they deal when others butt into their lives?
Aftershock
Raditz sighed in hopelessness as he continued to pet his little brother’s hair, who continued to stare at the wall as he lay in bed. The poor thing hasn’t said a word in a week and he refused to eat or drink anything. Raditz tried everything to get him out of his stupor, but nothing seemed to work. Where was his father? He should’ve been here by now. The doctor suddenly walked in to check up on his patient. “Has he said anything?” He eyed the boy and took out a little light and shown it in his pupils that refused to move.
Raditz shook his head solemnly. “No. I don’t understand. As soon as he saw the mark, he just…lost it. He’s been like this ever since.”
The doctor froze. “The mark?”
Raditz looked at the doctor. “Yes. I asked where his mate was and he said he didn’t have one.”
The doctor immediately looked at the boy’s neck to see if it was true. He gasped quietly then froze again when he saw it. “Oh…I’m afraid…this is quite bad.” He stared at it a moment more before pulling away and glancing away with a solemn expression.
Raditz’ eyes widened as his breathing sped up. “What do you mean?”
The doctor sighed. “I mean, it would be almost impossible for the boy to have a child.” Raditz continued staring at the doctor with the same expression, waiting for him to continue. “If his visitors saw it, they would immediately find someone else to bear their children, since the mark obviously means he belongs to someone else. No one will want him.”
Raditz turned his panicked gaze back to his little brother, who started to quietly sob and curl in upon himself. “Oh, Kakarot…” He trailed off. He had no idea how he could help him. He’s never felt so useless. He reluctantly turned his sorrowful gaze to the doctor. “So what do we do?” He asked in determination.
The doctor shrugged and sighed. “Not much. All you can really do is…find the one who marked him. He belongs to him now.” Both him and Raditz turned their gaze back to Kakarot, who sobbed harder at the information. Damn it all.

A similar situation was happening not far away at the palace. The prince, after being drugged and being held hostage in his own room, stared blankly at the wall on his bed as well. He couldn’t believe he let this happen to him. He was the prince damn it! How weak was he…to let those bastards do this to him. His own guards put a ki restraint on him, captured him, restrained him, impregnated him, then drugged him and now he’s a prisoner. Fists clenched the sheets subconsciously and unfeelingly. They’re dead. They’re all going to die by his hand. He’ll make sure of this. He vaguely noted his betrothed pacing in the living quarters in the next room. But first, he must take care of him. The bastard will pay for going along with this. He’ll pay for following him to his secret place. He’ll pay for taking away his kitten…and he will suffer slowly for humiliating him like this. Speaking of which, where was his kitten? His fists clenched tighter without his consent as his blurred mind raced through thoughts of where his kitten could be. He couldn’t be at home…no…he had to be in a facility. However, his mark was on him. No one will touch him. He belongs to him now. He was safe until his kitten was back in his care. For now, he’ll have to wait out the drugs and play along. Otherwise, he’ll never leave this room.

“Kakarot, you need to eat something.” Raditz whispered to his little brother, who continued to stare blankly at nothing in front of him. “Kakarot.” He tried gaining his attention by getting in his line of view. “Kakarot. Please answer me. I’m really worried about you.” Kakarot said nothing as he stared past his brother. If Raditz didn’t know any better, he’d think that his brother was dead, but the steady up and down motion of his chest put some of his worries to rest. Raditz leaned forward, touching his forehead to the younger’s. “Kakarot, please. You won’t make it much longer if you don’t eat.” No response. He sighed. “At least say something. Anything.” He stroked his hair again for a minute before his hand trailed to the mark on his brother’s neck. Kakarot tensed at the action. Raditz really didn’t want to do this, but it was the only way to snap him out of it. “Can you at least tell me who your mate is? Maybe…if I find him and talk to him-“
“No.” Kakarot answered in a dead tone as he blinked unemotionally.
Raditz tensed for a moment, actually surprised that he spoke, but kept at it. “Why not? Maybe he can help.”
Kakarot’s jaw tightened and his fists clenched the sheets in fear. “He’s my tormentor.”
Raditz almost fell backwards in shock. “You mean…the one that did this to you is your mate?!”
Painful tears leaked out of unmoving eyes as Kakarot gritted his teeth, trying to keep it all in. “I don’t…I don’t remember…when he did it. I-I didn’t even know about it…until you mentioned it.”
Raditz suddenly felt guilty, thinking that his brother’s pain was his fault. In a way, it was. “I…I’m sorry. Kakarot…I’m so sorry.” He stroked his tear streaked face in apology.
Kakarot clenched his eyes shut and held desperately onto his brother’s hand. “I…I just want it all to go away. I don’t want to remember…I don’t want to live it, yet at the same time, I don’t want to die. I just…want it all to stop.”
Raditz’s heart clenched as he watched his brother fall apart. “Kakarot.” His voice cracked as he tried holding back tears of his own.
A knock at the door brought both of them to awareness. Raditz swallowed the lump in his throat and forced out, “Come in.”
A curious head of untamed locks peeked through the door. “Kakarot?”
Raditz turned towards the door. “Father?”
Kakarot turned over when he heard his father’s voice. “F-Father?” He whimpered in hope as Bardock came into the room.
“Hey, kiddo. How you holding up?” Bardock came over and sat on the edge of the bed next to his oldest then embraced his youngest, who held onto him for dear life and sobbed. Bardock held his son tighter in a comforting embrace. “That bad, huh?” He slowly pulled away, however, Kakarot was having none of that and continued to cling to him.
“Oh, father! I don’t know what to do!” Kakarot sobbed louder into his father’s armor.
All Bardock could do was pat his back and hush his crying. “Shh, it’s alright baby.” He managed to pull back just enough to gently hold Kakarot’s jaw and rub his tears away. “Tell me what happened.” He demanded softly but firmly.
Kakarot didn’t know where to start. “Vegeta…the prince…h-he,” he sniffed, “he kidnapped me and…a-and…” He broke into more sobs at the thought and embraced his father again.
Bardock returned the embrace and continued to give his son comforting words. “It’s alright, Kakarot. It’s all over now. Everything will be okay. You’ll see. Things will get better. Just don’t give in to your worries and replace them with good memories.” He pulled back again and wiped away more tears. “Your brother and I are here now. Try not to worry, okay? I know that may sound easier said than done, but if you concentrate on other things, you’ll find that the pain ebbs away eventually.” He cooed to him.
Kakarot sniffed again. “Father, you…sound like…this has happened to you before.”
Bardock ignored his son’s statement and continued his thoughts. “I hear you’re not eating. It’s the first step in healing. I promise the pain will go away in time. Just give it a chance to.” He kissed his youngest on the cheek and stroked his hair once then pulled away. He glanced at his oldest and motioned him to the other side of the room. “I need a word with you Raditz.” Raditz nodded and followed his lead then stopped in the corner of the room. Bardock talked to him in a hushed tone so his youngest wouldn’t hear him. “I don’t want you asking him anything about him being in captivity, understand? Wait until he regains his strength and some happiness, then start asking questions. From now until that happens, I want you to be with him at all times and cheer him up as much as you can. When he gets his strength back, take him out somewhere, get his mind on other things.”
Raditz nodded. “I’ll try. What about you?”
Bardock crossed his arms. “I’ll return to my missions in a few days and send you the money I make. Inform me of anything of importance and I’ll return.”
Raditz’ gaze turned a bit worried but agreed nonetheless. “What do I tell Kakarot? He’ll expect you to stay longer than a few days.”
Bardock glanced at Kakarot, who was hugging himself and staring at the bedding as tears continued to stream down his face. “By then, he won’t need me. He has you.” He returned his gaze to his eldest. “Keep him happy. Protect him, like you always have.”
Raditz turned his gaze to his feet in shame. “I haven’t been doing a very good job at that lately.”
Bardock scowled. “Then make up for it now.”
Raditz looked up at his father again, his gaze turning stern and determined. “Right.”
Both returned to Kakarot’s side and continued to comfort him until he fell asleep in their arms.

Vegeta woke up to the ceiling moving above him. He quickly realized he was moving and someone was carrying him. Great. Now where were they taking him? If he had his mind set straight and wasn’t so tired, then he’d give whoever’s humiliating him in this way a piece of his fist. The sound of a door sliding open was heard and the ceiling quickly changed to a bright whiteness. The prince squinted at the quick change of scenery, but said nothing as he was set down on cold metal. He groaned slightly at his uncomfortable position, but made no move to change it. Damn. What did they give him? How long has he been out? “How’s he been doing?” That voice sounded familiar. Ah. It was his father. He still sounded pissed, like he didn’t care how he’s been doing.
He suddenly felt strong fingers caress his scalp gently, which surprisingly calmed him slightly. “Pretty tired. All he’s done is sleep and stare at nothing.” He recognized that one too. It was Brolly. He sounded a bit worried but nonetheless still authorative towards the king. No one said anything for a few minutes as Vegeta continued to stare at the bright ceiling with half-lidded drugged eyes, until Brolly sighed. “We can’t keep doing this to him. The drugs will surely affect the baby and both of them can’t get any nourishment this way.” Brolly continued stroking his hair comfortingly. Either for him or himself, Vegeta didn’t know.
“We know, but we can’t risk him doing anything drastic, like trying to get rid of it himself. He’ll have to be watched 24/7 and he can’t have anything sharp in his room or around him.” That deep voice sighed in irritation. “This is such a hassle. If he wasn’t so damn resistant and acted like a child all the time, this would be so much easier.” Vegeta heard footsteps move away from him, then back, then away, and repeated. He was pacing.
“I can watch him.” Brolly volunteered quietly.
“Obviously.” The king grunted as the pacing continued.
Vegeta suddenly felt something cool moving on his stomach. When he realized what it was, he had the sudden urge to destroy the damn machine, but could only manage out a growl instead. Brolly shushed him. “It’s okay. He’s just checking to see how he’s growing.” He whispered to him calmly.
Vegeta tried giving the doctor standing next to him a death glare, but it turned out to be more of a sneer with hooded eyes. “I know…what…he’s doing. I can tell…you, it won’t…be growing…for long.” He managed out in a tired voice.
The king ignored his son and stopped his pacing. “Well? How is it?”
The doctor took a moment to respond. “Well, it has a heartbeat, but it appears to be pulsing slowly. It could be from the sedations and lack of nourishment.” He pulled the contraption away from Vegeta, to the royal’s relief, and wrote down a few things on his clipboard.
Vegeta panted harshly at the thought of something growing inside him. “Going to…kill…you…all.” He threatened through gritted teeth.
Brolly finally pulled his hand away from him and stood straight while giving his betrothed a solemn look. “Well, it’s a good thing you won’t be able to have the strength to do that soon.” His father chided.
Vegeta stopped breathing for a moment. “W-What?” He gasped out.
The king smirked. “Oh, yes. The boy will drain you of your energy the more it grows.”
Brolly turned a settled glare towards the king, but it went unnoticed. “Get it out of me!” Vegeta shouted, trying to sit up and find something sharp.
Brolly bent over to restrain him. “Your highness…” He started out in a whispered warning, but it was directed more towards the king instead of his betrothed.
“Give him another dose.” The king demanded simply then clenched his teeth. “However, this will be the last one.”
The doctor nodded and went to do what he was told. Brolly continued to hold Vegeta while trying to calm him. “My prince, please calm down. It won’t be permanent. Only until he’s born.” He pleaded in a calm voice.
Vegeta panted in his efforts and suddenly wanted laser vision so he could incinerate the doctor where he stood as the man poked a needle into his veins. “And how long…will that take?” He asked in panic as his vision slowly started to become darker.
The last thing he saw was Brolly’s concerned gaze and his voice whispered out, “Twelve months.”

“My king, a third class requests an audience with you.” A guard entered the throne room and bowed while stating his purpose.
The king looked up at the man and rubbed his beard in thought. “A third class you say? What does he want?”
The guard stayed in his bowing position, knowing full well to stay that way until given permission to either stand or leave. “He wouldn’t say, your highness. However, he did state that it was something of importance that needed your attention…concerning the prince.” The guard hesitated in the last part, not knowing what it meant and unsure of his king’s reaction.
King Vegeta stood from his throne. “The prince?” He stood still for a few moments, contemplating his decision before voicing it. “Let him enter.” He beckoned with his hand for his command to be obeyed.
The guard bowed lower. “Yes, your highness.” He stood then turned to leave to do as he was told.
The king didn’t get the chance to sit back down before a third class with wild locks barged in. The king scowled at the man’s brisk entrance and his lack of greeting him before demanding, “State your name and purpose.”
The man scowled back. “I am Bardock. I am here on behalf of my son, who claims that the prince has marked him.”
The king scoffed. “Nonsense. My son might not be the best in choosing who he beds, but I know for a fact he wouldn’t go so low as to mark a third class.”
Bardock sneered at the king. “I’ll have you know that my son was the only survivor of the prince’s little escapade.”
This peaked the king’s interest a little when he turned his attention back to the third class. “What’s his name?”
“Kakarot.” Bardock answered curtly.
King Vegeta froze for a second, but it went unnoticed. “Hn. That name does sound familiar. I rather see for myself if he has indeed been marked like you said. However, it doesn’t mean that it was my son who did it.”
Bardock crossed his arms. “Then why not bring the prince with you? His reaction when he sees him should be more than enough to convince you.”
The king narrowed his eyes. “Even if he was marked by my son, what do you want me to do about it?”
Bardock uncrossed his arms and tried not to growl at his king. “As you well know, my son is staying at a facility and, therefore, can’t receive any customers when they see that he’s already taken.”
It was the king’s turn to cross his arms. “So, what you’re saying is that he’s useless?”
This time, Bardock couldn’t help but sneer and growl at the king. “I’m saying he’s customer free unless the prince does something about him. If the prince wants to keep him, then we should have some sort of understanding. If not, then it should be made public that my son’s…in business.” He didn’t like talking about his son like that, but it seemed to be the only way the king would understand. He also didn’t like the fact that his son would be getting ‘visitors,’ but unless this thing gets resolved, his son will never get better.
King Vegeta uncrossed his arms after a few minutes before coming to a decision. “Alright. I will send someone in my place while I have a talk with the prince. If I remember correctly, he was the first one on the scene and found your son.” He smirked at that, as if he found out if he was lying or not already. “He will be at the facility tomorrow.” He sat down on his throne again as Bardock bowed and began to leave. “Ah, before I forget, which facility is he in?” The king added as an afterthought.
Bardock turned towards the king again. “Here at the capital.”
The king nodded as he rubbed his beard, a subconscious thing. Interesting. This was all becoming very interesting.

Well, there’s the first chapter. Hope it’s interesting and living up to everyone’s expectations. Oh. That’s a lot of pressure. O.o *laughs nervously* I’m gonna mess it up, I know I am. It always sounds good in my head until I write it down…then it’s crap. :/ I’m not sure yet how long this will be, but I’ll be sure to let you all know when the time gets closer. Working on the next chapter now, but don’t expect it soon.
