Bound by Desire

DISCLAIMER: I own nothing here. I am just borrowing the characters for my own sadistic amusement. All characters belong to who ever created the show FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST.

AN: I’d like to apologize if I make any mistakes. I haven’t had the pleasure of seeing all of the FMA episodes out there so please, keep an open mind. As for the character Scar, I am making him naughtier than what I have seen him in.

WARNINGS: This contains some major angst. Also, this involves yaoi. That means, boy on boy action. Personally, I think that’s the best action out there anyway. ;] And I guess I should put a warning up about forced sex and awkward situations…but really, who reads these warnings anyway?

Pairings: Roy/Scar, Roy/Ed

Summary: A top-secret mission ends abruptly with the abduction of Roy and Edward. The two suddenly find themselves at the mercy of a known enemy to the military. Will Roy be able to keep them both safe, and at what cost?

The train car rocked in a steady but nauseating motion, making Edward Elric bite back another groan of displeasure. Usually, train rides such as these had little effect upon the young man. But then again, Ed usually had the company of his younger brother Alphonse to keep his mind off of things. Not to mention the fact that the two bowls of rice he had wolfed down prior to boarding the train didn’t help matters any.

Edward tossed a glance at his traveling companion who was relaxed back against his seat casually. Ed couldn’t help but glare a bit at the older man for looking so relaxed. It was because of him that Ed was not back in central with his brother. Not that Edward particularly liked Central, but just the fact that he preferred the company there to what he had here. The Colonel and he rarely saw eye to eye on anything and the few words they spoke to one another were either orders from Mustang or insults from Edward.

As for Colonel Roy Mustang, he ignored the fiery glares being shot upon him from Edward. After all, he had known the young man for two years now and had come accustomed to the fact that they clashed bitterly whenever they had to meet. However, Roy had the suspicion that there was a bit more than mere dislike lurking behind Ed’s golden eyes; Roy highly suspected that the young alchemist hated him. This idea neither pleased nor displeased the Colonel, however. He was the other’s superior and he had to issue his authority. If Edward disliked him for that, well. Such was life.

Edward was busy plucking at an imaginary thread on his bright red coat. He had just finished letting his flesh fingers explore over his metal ones before growing bored of that. This was ridiculous! Of all the people working within the military, why did the Colonel decide that he himself had to take care of this particular mission? Edward had thought that the Flame alchemist was the type who did not like to get his gloved covered hands dirty, but was obviously sadly mistaken.

This morning, Edward had been shocked when he had entered the Colonel’s office to find the other man waiting with a bag in hand. Apparently this was a mission he trusted with no one else but himself. But why the Colonel had decided to pick Edward to come along with him as back up was beyond him.

With a sigh, Edward shot his yellow eyes up to the other man. “So, are you ready to tell me where we’re going or are you still going to pull this mysterious crap on me and make me keep guessing?” he asked, his voice quivering just a bit with barely restrained venom. Oh there was so much more he would like to say…

Mustang drew his eyes away from the train car’s window and looked at him with an air of boredom. This was not the first time Ed had asked him such a question and he suspected it would not be the last. Idly, he was reminded of a child who would keep asking ‘Are we there yet? Are we there yet?’ The image of young Edward strapped to a baby seat in a car carrying on such antics made the Flame Alchemist smirk. “Whenever we reach our destination, Fullmetal, you will know. I’ve already explained that to you.”

Edward growled, the hand of his auto-mail curled into a fist and he found himself suddenly quite tempted to transmute a blade out of his arm so that he could slice that smirk right off the Colonel’s face. Why was he doing this? What could the point of keeping Ed in the dark possibly be? These questions had been rattling around in his mind throughout the entire trip. In truth, Ed hated not knowing something. He did not like to be left out of anything that he was going to be involved in. If Mustang expected him to be of any use, he had better start coughing up answers now. “You know, I’m not a child anymore, Mustang. And I don’t think I should be treated as one. You dragged me out here on this god damned train for your god damned mission and I think I deserve some answers!” His voice grew higher and higher as he spoke and he felt his cheeks grow hotter, no doubt flushing with aggravation.

Mustang regarded his subordinate with mild amusement. It was always so easy to get Edward riled up, and most of the time he was not even trying. He let the other man’s words hang in the air for a long moment before he leaned forward, his dark eyes never leaving the paler yellow ones. Carefully, he rested both elbows upon his knees and his hands under his chin as he studied Edward. “You do realize that I am your superior officer, correct? And as such, you are to treat me with respect. You should take that into consideration if you want to continue carrying that watch,” he said calmly then nodded to the silver chain hanging at Ed’s hip.

There was a soft sigh before Ed sat back. The smirky bastard was going to pull rank on him again. “Fine, Colonel,” the last was said bitterly, letting the other man know just what he thought about the title. “But really, if you want me to be of help, you’re going to have to fill me in sooner or later.”

“All I can tell you now is this; we have uncovered vital information regarding the recent attacks against military personal. It will be up to you and I to investigate said information then dispose of it if it turns out to be true. That is as much information as I can give you at this time,” Roy stated. No matter what Fullmetal said to him, Roy Mustang would not lose his cool. To do so would let the other man win.

“And what about where we are going? Why is that so secret?”

Ah, that drew the hated smirk across Mustang’s lips. “That, Fullmetal, is simply because I don’t feel like telling you at this time.” With that said, Roy leaned back against his seat again and placed his hands behind his head to use as a makeshift pillow. Sometimes it actually was fun to push Fullmetal’s temper. He let his eyes fall closed, apparently oblivious to the death glares being shot at him. “Wake me when we stop.”

As if his words were magic, the train was suddenly lurched forward as the sickening screech of metal upon metal was heard. Edward was tossed off of his seat where he landed on his knees in front of Roy, his nose a bare millimeter away from the other’s crotch. He blushed brightly at the predicament and attempted to push himself away but the force of the train squealing to a stop was too great upon his small body.

With a resigned sigh, Edward remained on his knees until he was jerked backwards again as the train finally came to a halt. He licked his lips, his breath having quickened a bit with worry before he finally brought his eyes to the Colonel. “Well,” he stated, standing up from his position on the floor and brushing off his leather pants as if they were dirty. “We’re here.”

“Duly noted, Fullmetal,” Roy scoffed. Though deep down, he was a bit shaken. For a split second, Roy had imagined the train was about to come off the tracks. There was one thing Roy hated above all else; not having control of a situation. If Edward could not say anything about the obvious glint of worry that had been in Roy’s eyes, Roy was willing to ignore the fact that Ed’s nose had come dangerously close to his crotch.

Roy was about to stand again to investigate just what had happened to the train when the door to their cabin was suddenly blown inwards; it struck Edward hard on his side, making the young man gasp in pain and surprise. Through the corner of his eye, Roy watched as Ed hit the floor and lay still. Without a second thought, he raised a gloved hand in preparation to strike down whatever could be waiting for them on the other side of the ruined doorway. He did not need to wait long.

A man with tanned skin and markings upon his arms stepped into the cabin. The scar over his face was unmistakable. Just as Roy thought of snapping his fingers and transmuting the bitch back to hell, the other man went into action.

As Roy’s body gave out on him and he came crashing to the ground next to Ed’s limp form, he couldn’t help but marvel at their attacker’s speed. He didn’t have long to think this over, however. The blow to his head and chest soon let a curtain of blackness sweep over the world, surrounding Roy in its’ icy cold nothingness.
