WARNINGS: Violence, some gore
The two royals managed to climb out of the raging waters and onto a muddy bank. Both were soaked and panting from the effort of trying to keep to the surface while dodging rocks and trees and what not at the same time. It was especially hard for Kakarot since he never swam in his wolf form before, so he ran into more natural debris. His body felt heavy and he was dizzy. He took a few more steps then collapsed, falling unconscious. Vegeta followed not long after and they both rested until well into the afternoon.
Vegeta was the first one to regain consciousness as he stared at the darkening sky in confusion. After a few moments of getting his bearings, he sat up and looked around him. It suddenly hit him on what happened. When he spotted the still unconscious cub, he quickly stood, only to let out a pained yelp and doubled over. He clenched a hand over his chest as he struggled to breathe. He’ll most likely have a bruise for almost running into a boulder. He thought for sure he was going to die when he saw it getting closer, but Kakarot managed to push him out of the way with a solid head-butt to the chest and ran into it himself. He looked back at the said cub and whispered under his breath. “Idiot.” Gritting through the pain, he carefully stood and made his way over to him. The half breed looked over the big furry body to see if there were any injuries. Seeing none, he kneeled down next to the cub then proceeded to wake him. “Kakarot, hey.” He looked at the cub’s face to see if there was any sign of him waking. When he didn’t see any movement, he tried again while shaking the wolf’s form lightly. “Kakarot, wake up.” He said a little louder.
He got a pained whine for an answer and to Vegeta, that was a relief. He let out a breath at the positive sign then proceeded to get him back to full consciousness. “Kakarot. Come on. We have to move. They could be looking for us.” He looked around suspiciously, as if their enemy were already hiding in the bushes and waiting to pounce. Kakarot tossed his head lightly then opened his eyes to see the half breed above him. He hacked out whatever was in his lungs then proceeded to move, only to whimper and go limp. He began to pant at the small effort and whined again. Vegeta watched the other curiously. “What’s wrong, Kakarot? Are you hurt?” He bowed his head when Kakarot nodded weakly. Vegeta let out a breath as he tried to figure out what to do next. “I’d have you transform, but that won’t do your injuries any good and I can’t carry you in this state…” The half breed let out a breath in defeat then made himself comfortable next to the cub. “Our…best bet is to…stay put for the night.” Vegeta forced out. He didn’t want to admit that he needed the cub to move about, but considering that Kakarot was in worse shape than him, it was up to him to help him heal.
He leaned forward then, determined to find the problem so he can find a way to help the cub. “Where does it hurt?” He gently started prodding Kakarot’s chest, stomach, and legs to find the problem. He didn’t have to search for too long when Kakarot whimpered when Vegeta touched his ribs and hip bone. Vegeta stopped his prodding and looked to his legs. “Can you move your legs?” Kakarot did what he was asked but grunted when he couldn’t move much of one of them. Vegeta studied the fuzzy body a bit more before coming to a conclusion. “Okay. I think your leg is dislocated, but I can’t tell if you fractured your ribs or not. However, we’ll worry about that later. For now, let’s concentrate on your leg.” He carefully stood then and made his way around Kakarot’s backside and rested a hand on the hip bone and the other on Kakarot’s spine. He carefully prodded along it until he found out what the problem was. “Now, the way I see it, I’m going to have to pull your leg back into place.” With that said, he moved in front of the cub again and kneeled at his hind legs. He gently took a hold of the one that wasn’t moving…and hesitated. He looked at Kakarot, who was looking back. “This…will hurt, but it’ll be quick and it might be sore for a few days, so prepare for that.” Vegeta went on cautiously. He gripped the leg a little tighter then looked back at Kakarot as if asking for permission. Kakarot seemed to get the message and nodded then raked his claws through the mud in anticipation and shut his eyes. Vegeta bit his lip in thought for a moment then clenched his teeth and held his breath before yanking the leg towards him in a swift motion, making a popping sound as he did so.
Kakarot howled loudly. So loud in fact that the sound reverberated off of the canyon’s walls, traveling down the river a ways before dying out. It caught the attention of some flocks of birds, that flew away, some other forest critters…and a pack of wondering werewolves…
Vegeta looked to Kakarot to see if he was conscious then eyed the leg. “Now try moving it.” He let out a breath of relief when he saw the leg twitch to life and move about, accompanied by some quiet whimpers, which was normal. “Okay, now for your ribs.” He looked around for anything to tie around the cub’s midsection before freezing. The back packs on Kakarot’s back were gone. He then stood in a panic and padded himself down, checking to make sure that his knife and sword were on him. He let out another calming breath when he noticed that they were, but then began to look around for the back packs. When he didn’t see them in his periphery vision, he gave up. Of course, they’re probably scattered on down the river somewhere…
The half breed clenched his fists in silent anger before trying to think of what to do next. However, a shiver wracked his frame, interrupting his trail of thought. He looked down at himself only to notice that his clothes were still wet. It wouldn’t do to have him catching an illness. That was the last thing they needed. His next thought was to build a fire, so he looked around at anything dead and dry then quickly went to retrieve them. He came back with a pile of rotten logs then set them on a spot that was dry and went to get a fire going. However, it was taking him longer than usual since the shivers seemed to come one after the other. He had to hold himself a few times to get himself to stop shaking long enough for him to get the fire going, but it appeared to be futile.
Seeing his struggle, Kakarot gingerly stood from his spot and tested his legs before trudging over behind Vegeta and lying at his back. He rested his big head on a small shoulder, hoping to calm the other’s shivers. Vegeta shivered even more at the touch, but whether it was out of being cold or disgust was a mystery to Kakarot. The cub remained where he was despite the other’s reaction and snuggled closer to the half breed. However, Vegeta kept trying to shrug out of the other’s comforting presence. “Kn-Knock it o-off, K-Kaka-rot! C-Can’t you s-see I-I’m t-trying to get…a f-fire g-going? Th-The…longer w-we s-stay, the m-more likely…we’ll be…f-found.” Vegeta stammered out as his shaky hands tried to do their task, but Kakarot wasn’t having any of that. The cub maneuvered his head around so it rested against Vegeta’s chest then let out a stern growl to emphasis that he wasn’t going to listen. To make sure there was no more arguing, Kakarot pressed into Vegeta’s sore chest and brought him back to rest against him. Vegeta hissed at the slight pain and was about to protest when Kakarot stared into his eyes with a stern look and growled more loudly before nuzzling into Vegeta’s shivering body, determined on getting him warm.
Vegeta growled in return. He wanted to retort, but he knew it was futile. He didn’t bother moving, so instead, he let the other do what he wanted and muttered under his breath, “Stubborn mutt.”

Down the river a ways, a pack of two-legged wolves were wondering up the river, determined to find the source of the sound they heard only moments ago. They stayed quiet as they stealthily climbed the jagged and slippery terrain while they listened for any more sounds and sniffed out their prey. They were going to bring their prince back and kill the half breed…no matter what.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Vegeta squirmed a bit uncomfortably in the young prince’s embrace, but didn’t try to get out of it and focused on getting comfortable. Kakarot shifted along with the half breed to try his best to get him warm, but it was getting a little irritating. Kakarot growled into Vegeta’s chest, a wordless command to get him to stay still. Vegeta froze at the sound then smirked a moment later. “Why don’t I just skin you and where your fur as a coat if you’re that determined to get me warm?” What started out as a growl turned into a high pitched whine, Vegeta’s smirk widened.
Their short moment ended suddenly when Kakarot lifted his head toward a quiet rustling sound and what sounded like claws on stone. He made a quiet worried groan to alert Vegeta to the sound. Vegeta sat up in alarm when he heard it too. His heart beat rapidly in his chest as adrenaline coursed through him. The need to flee hitting him harder than Kakarot did when they were in the river. Not wanting to waste another second, Vegeta suddenly stood and Kakarot followed. Slowly, they backed into the forest behind them as quietly as they could while watching for any movement. Just when they reached the forest’s edge, a werewolf finally showed itself and looked right at them with a sneer. That was their queue to leave.
Both princes took off at a sprint through the shrubbery with their enemy right behind them. Vegeta gave a quick glance behind him to see how close their enemy was and his eyes widened when he realized they were catching up. “Damn it all! Just when we got rid of them!” He cursed to no one as he yelled his next words to Kakarot, who ran beside him. “We won’t be able to outrun them at this rate and we can’t keep this up for long! We have to lose them again!”
Kakarot grunted in agreement but wanted to whine when he tried to come up with a plan on how to do that. He knew one thing however, and that was getting Vegeta on his back. He slowed his pace a bit so he could get behind Vegeta then suddenly ducked his head under him and threw him up on his back. Vegeta shouted in surprise at the sudden action, but held on for dear life when Kakarot picked up speed. Vegeta looked behind them to see that the other wolves have as well then pulled out his sword with one hand while the other hung on to Kakarot. Carefully, he turned himself around on Kakarot so he may face his enemy in case they decided to pounce. However, just when he got situated, he noticed Kakarot started to slow down. He was getting tired.
Vegeta immediately started to panic as their enemy rushed forward. “Kakarot, no! Go faster! They’re gaining on us!” But Kakarot only panted and slowed down a little more. Vegeta cursed as he pulled out his smaller blade and continued to try and motivate Kakarot to go faster. “Do you want them catch us?! Do you want to go back home a prisoner?! Do you think your father will ever let you leave when you return?! Do you think that will end the war?! And what do you think they’ll do to me?! Either these bastards or your father will be the one to finish me off for good! They only want you after all! Is that what you want?!” Kakarot sprinted at the same pace in thought of the other’s words then suddenly narrowed his eyes in determination and effort as he pressed forward and sprinted faster. “Yes! That’s it Kakarot! Run faster! Don’t stop! Keep going! Not only are we running for our lives, but we’re running towards our freedom! Don’t ever stop!” Kakarot barked out in agreement as he kept sprinting forward, trying with all his might to stay ahead of his brethren.
However, he knew he couldn’t keep this up for much longer. His body was bound to collapse in exhaustion and they would capture them for sure…and kill Vegeta. He growled. He wasn’t going to let that happen…never! Vegeta was all he had…he’s his comrade in their fight for freedom. Not to mention he saved his life more than his family ever has. Then again, he wasn’t in danger often. Still, the fact that Vegeta stayed with him and didn’t abandon him after they fled from their home made him a friend to Kakarot. Besides, he couldn’t live without him. He needed him to survive…he can’t do it alone.
As darkness fell over the forest and the last bit of the sun’s rays began to die out, they outlined a canyon not far ahead. With Kakarot’s enhanced vision, he saw the canyon curve in front of them where the sun’s rays bounced off its walls. With an idea in mind, Kakarot looked up at the trees and darkening sky. A sound made him look to either side of him, only to realize the enemy was starting to close in on him. A couple from behind just pushed themselves off from the trees they were jumping on and made a leap toward Vegeta. Kakarot could feel his heart pound against his sore ribcage, working hard in order to keep up with his excessive running. With his mind set and a plan in place, he pushed off from the ground and aimed for the trees in that same instant. Vegeta yelped at the sudden action and dropped his sword so he could grab a handful of Kakarot’s fur. The wolves that leaped from behind collided with the ground as the others tried to keep up with Kakarot while they watched him leap into the air.
When Kakarot’s paws landed on the first tree, he quickly jumped to the next in a zigzag pattern, getting higher as he went. He pushed off the last tree as hard as he could and leaped over the canyon. Vegeta looked down at the river in a panic, but quickly looked back to see if the others followed, they didn’t. He looked ahead of them again to see if they would make it and it looked like they wouldn’t. Vegeta grit his teeth and gripped his knife in a ready position so he may stab the cliff side in case they fell. When the edge got closer, Kakarot hooked his paws over the edge and clawed it so they wouldn’t fall. Vegeta not only hung on to Kakarot with one hand, but hugged his back with his legs. However, his attempt to hang on seemed to be in vain when he felt himself slipping. “Kakarot!” Vegeta shouted in a panic as he impatiently waited for Kakarot to pull them up. At Vegeta’s cry, Kakarot kicked his hind legs in an attempt to pull them up. With the help of his front paws, he struggled with not only his own weight, but the weight that was slipping off his back. However, he managed it and collapsed as soon as he touched horizontal ground. Vegeta fell off of Kakarot after he was pulled up and laid next to Kakarot. He looked back at the werewolves staring at them to see what their next move would be.
His small relief at jumping such a great distance away from them suddenly took a dive when the wolves jumped one after the other and landed next to and in front of Vegeta. Vegeta stiffened and made a futile attempt at backing away from them when one of them that was in front of him pounced and pinned him to the ground. Vegeta cried out when his arms were pinned to the ground by overgrown claws and a weight was pressing down on him. Kakarot lifted his head and looked around him when he heard Vegeta’s cry. He immediately stood in a panic but was grabbed by his collar and pinned to the ground himself. He made a short but loud yelp and tried to struggle out from underneath his bigger kin. Vegeta glanced around for his knife and found it right next to his hand. He tried turning his wrist just enough to grab it, but the wolf noticed what he was doing and pressed his claw into Vegeta’s arm and made a quick jerk, successfully snapping it. Vegeta cried out again and jerked his arm at the sudden pain. Kakarot began to make his series of whines again when he saw Vegeta being hurt. He tried clawing his way free, but his capture just grabbed a hold of his legs. He watched helplessly as the wolves communicated to each other with a series of barks and growls and realized that they were going to kill Vegeta right in front of him. He made a series of barks in return in an attempt to get them to not do it, but they ignored him.
Just when the wolf that held Vegeta captive was about to close its jaws around Vegeta’s neck, another two-legged wolf jumped in and knocked the other off of him. The other werewolves stared at the newcomer in shock before recovering and attacking it. Vegeta wasted no time in grabbing his knife with his good hand and standing before the wolf holding Kakarot hostage. The wolf sneered and growled at him before leaping at him. Vegeta aimed straight for the heart as he was thrown back along with the wolf. He loosened his grip when he collided with a tree and slowly collapsed on its roots, going limp. The werewolf took a staggering step back then took another one that was a little more shaky, then collapsed himself, changing back into his human form in the process.
Kakarot stared at the fight in shock then finally went over to check Vegeta after the wolf collapsed. He sniffed the half breed in a panic, but relaxed somewhat when he saw Vegeta’s chest rise and fall, signaling that he was alive. He looked back at the now human werewolf and saw the knife imbedded in his chest, he was dead. He glanced back at the fight happening between the newcomer and the other wolves. He felt like he should jump in and help, but at the same time, felt like he should grab Vegeta and leave. However, his curiosity got the better of him when he didn’t move from his spot. He could help, but it looked like the newcomer was winning, even though he was outnumbered. Although, the others that were chasing him were already worn out and injured from Vegeta’s attacks from earlier, but the wolves tried their best in defeating the newcomer so they could succeed in their mission, however, they failed in the end.
After the last one fell and transformed back into his human form, the victor stood amongst the dead and turned towards Kakarot. Kakarot froze and took a step back at the other’s gaze. The other panted and gritted his teeth at him as if in pain, but didn’t make a move. Instead, he changed back in his human form and looked at the ground as if in shame. Kakarot made an odd choking sound that was supposed to resemble a gasp when he saw that it was his brother, Raditz.
His savior clenched his fists in anger and confusion then looked over at his younger brother, who stayed in his wolf form. He continued to clench his teeth in thought before shouting his reason for saving him. “I couldn’t very well go back home empty handed! I would’ve been punished! Besides, you didn’t think you could get rid of me that easily by telling me such hateful words.” He sneered, the look of hurt still evident in his eyes. Kakarot’s tail hung lifelessly behind him as his ears drooped. He did feel bad about that, but it’s not like it was all a lie. He only spoke the truth. “But…I know…that it’s true…as much as it hurts.” Raditz looked at the ground solemnly, then eyed the unconscious half breed. “Don’t get the wrong idea though. I still plan to kill Vegeta. I just wanted to be the one to do it.” Kakarot flinched at that, even though his brother held no anger in his words. It almost seemed like…he was making up a reason for saving him. “As for saving you, well…I think that speaks for itself.” He crossed his arms and looked out over the canyon, the sun setting long ago.
Kakarot couldn’t believe it. Raditz followed them again and now…he’s not even trying to take him back home. He’s…justifying his actions…as if he’s trying to get on his good side or something. Still, Kakarot couldn’t trust him, but…he still cared about his brother. He still wanted to trust him and go back home, but he couldn’t. He looked down at Vegeta. He still had to protect him. To Vegeta, everyone was his enemy…except for him apparently, and to everyone, he was the enemy. Kakarot was Vegeta’s only friend. Therefore, as a friend, he was responsible for him. “Why won’t you say anything? Can’t you even transform long enough to say something to me?” He looked back at Raditz, who gave him a vulnerable look that he’s never seen on his brother before.
Kakarot was about to do just that when he remembered his injuries and what Vegeta said. He couldn’t risk turning back if his ribs were broken, not to mention he just got his leg located back in place, but he had to do something. Otherwise, Raditz will probably never save his life again. So, he strutted forward toward his brother, who tensed and took a couple steps back at his brother’s advancement, but then froze when Kakarot rested his head on his shoulder. It was his way of embracing. Kakarot nuzzled his brother’s long hair in a way of saying thanks and Raditz gradually returned the embrace. “Are…are you still mad at me? Is that why you won’t talk to me?” Kakarot whined slightly, wanting so bad to tell him what he wanted. In truth, he wasn’t mad at his brother anymore. He actually missed him, he missed home, he missed his father, but right now, this is as good as it gets.
Raditz pulled back to look his brother in the eye by taking a hold of his jaw. “What’s wrong, Kakarot?” He ran a hand along Kakarot’s shoulder then down to his side where his ribs were, only to pull back in surprise when Kakarot flinched away from his touch. Raditz stared at his brother solemnly. “Are you hurt?” Kakarot only nodded, however, Raditz prodded at his injury a little more. Kakarot whimpered and tried taking a step back, but Raditz grabbed a hold of his collar. “Calm down. I’m just seeing what the damage is.” Kakarot squirmed in slight pain, but calmed down when Raditz let him go. “It’s alright. Nothing’s broken…” He trailed off slightly when he eyed the collar. “I’m surprised you’re still wearing that silly thing.” Kakarot let out a whimper then hesitantly changed back into his human form.
However, when he did, he remained on all fours and couldn’t seem to remember how to stand. He looked at himself in confusion as he tried to remember what to do with his legs. Seeing his distress, Raditz bent down to help him stand. “How long were you in that form?”
Kakarot shook his head as he tried to get his mouth to work. “Since…I last saw you.”
Raditz raised a brow at him. “Why?”
Kakarot looked down solemnly before he remembered Vegeta. He looked back at his fallen comrade then went over to see him. “Vegeta.” He bent down to see if there was any sign of him waking yet. There wasn’t.
“Kakarot, do you…forgive me? For…the way I’ve been…” Raditz struggled with his words as he fidgeted in place while watching Kakarot tend to his friend.
Kakarot looked up at his brother in thought. “I don’t know, Raditz. I’m not angry anymore, but I don’t know if forgiveness is in order yet.”
Raditz sighed and turned his gaze towards the ground. “I figured as much. I…just wanted to protect you. I never wanted you to find out. I just…want things to go back to the way they were…”
Kakarot nodded as he looked at Vegeta. “Me too, but I can’t go back. I can’t go back to something I don’t support or agree with. I don’t want to fight or kill humans. I just want there to be peace. Besides,” He narrowed his eyes. “How is this protecting me? I’m being hunted by my own kind…why do I feel like such an outcast?”
Raditz gave his brother a solemn look. “I’m…I’m sorry Kakarot, but what did you expect would happen when you ran away like that?”
Kakarot looked back up at Raditz. “I didn’t run away, I was captured and you never rescued me!” He looked away and muttered, “Not you or father. What am I to you two anyway? Some prize that needs to be back home on the shelf along with some severed heads? Am I some…ornament that belongs behind glass?”
Raditz tensed. “No, Kakarot. You’re much more than that…”
Kakarot stared at his brother in anger. “You just proved my point.”
Raditz gritted his teeth and clenched his fists. “Don’t do this to me Kakarot…don’t do this to me!” Kakarot ignored him as he carefully gathered Vegeta in his arms and stood, giving his back to his brother then proceeded to walk away. “Damn it, Kakarot! Don’t ignore me! After all I’ve done…is this how you repay me?!” Raditz yelled after him.
Without hesitation in his step, Kakarot answered. “Yes.”
Raditz clenched his fists until his palms bled, his form shook as the anger overtook his being and he transformed. Without warning, he charged Kakarot and the unconscious half breed. Kakarot turned just in time to be tackled to the ground, Vegeta fell a feet away. A large claw took a hold of Kakarot’s tender neck as he struggled in the wolf’s grasp. “A-Are…you going to…kill me now, brother? Is this…how I’ll die?” He forced through the pressure in his throat.
All he got in response was a growl. Raditz appeared to be warring with himself, but he never let up on his grip…until he was hit in the side with a tree trunk, causing him to fly off of Kakarot and into another tree trunk. Kakarot gasped for air as he slowly sat up and looked up at his savior…Vegeta. Vegeta dropped the broken trunk and gestured for the wolf to come at him. “Come on, mutt. It’s about time we finished this once and for all.” He eyed where his knife was, which was still imbedded in the wolf he killed earlier, then back to his opponent.
Raditz stood where he fell and sent a seething growl at Vegeta, along with a murderous glare. He roared before charging forward. Vegeta leaped out of the way of a swiping claw and rushed over to the dead werewolf and pulled out his silver knife. He stumbled forward slightly, his vision trying to black out on him. Damn. There was no way he could beat Raditz like this. His head was still spinning from the impact it made when the other werewolf attacked him. Raditz grinned as he watched his prey carefully, knowing that he was injured and was probably on the verge of blacking out again…and when that happens…he grinned, showing off his sharp teeth.
Kakarot watched the exchange in great worry. There was no way Vegeta can win, not in his condition and Raditz…Raditz…
The two-legged wolf extended his claws and rushed forward again. Vegeta stood his ground, waiting for the other to get closer. He gripped his knife tighter then jumped back when Raditz swiped at him again. He dodged again and again when Raditz kept swiping at him, but Vegeta didn’t dodge in time at one swipe and Raditz managed to claw his arm, causing the half breed to fly and skid along the ground then came to a halt. He groaned as he struggled to get up while cradling his useless arm. He looked around for his knife when he saw it nowhere near him, but soon found it at Raditz’ feet, who smashed the knife with a stomp of his paw, even though it stung him a little. Great. Vegeta managed to stand on his feet, although a little unsteadily, as Raditz slowly circled him, waiting for his moment to pounce. However, Vegeta watched his every move. The longer he took, the more afraid Vegeta became. He was unarmed and injured, not to mention he was on the verge of blacking out. There was no way he could survive. Without warning, Raditz pounced and Vegeta tried to dodge, but was knocked to the ground anyway by his legs. Raditz crawled up Vegeta’s body and held him still by pinning his neck. Vegeta weakly tried to pry the claw off, but cried out when a large claw came down upon his chest, ripping up his clothes and tearing into his flesh. He panted heavily and desperately tried to get out of the wolf’s grasp in a panic to live. However, Raditz made the half breed’s attempts futile by biting into his torso. Vegeta let out a high pitched scream as he was bit into. He jerked involuntarily and froze in the wolf’s jaws. His eyes widened as blood streamed from his mouth. A moment later, he coughed it out as he gasped for breath that didn’t involve a mouth full of blood. This was it. He was going to be eaten alive.
Raditz jerked his head around, trying to take some of the flesh with him, when he was struck from the side, causing him to release his meal. Raditz looked back to see a four-legged cub standing over his prey and growling at him with hatred in his eyes. Raditz licked the blood from around his mouth and sneered at the cub. He let out a mighty roar, displaying his displeasure in being separated from his prey. Kakarot let out a few very loud barks and snarled as menacingly as he could at his brother, who was a little put off at the display of aggression that he’s never seen from his brother. Without further warning, Kakarot charged at Raditz with that same menacing snarl while Raditz braced himself for the attack. When Kakarot made contact, he forced Raditz back a few feet, but the two-legged wolf stayed standing.
However, Raditz didn’t know that Kakarot had bit him until he looked down and started to feel a terrible pain shoot up to his brain. Raditz howled as Kakarot tried to take a chunk out of him like he did with Vegeta then punched Kakarot in the head a few times until he let him go. Kakarot yelped loudly and took a few steps back, releasing his brother, who staggered back and held onto his wound that was bleeding profusely. Not a second later, Raditz got on his four legs and continued whimpering in pain, as if something else was hurting him other than the wound. He shook violently and couldn’t seem to control the sounds coming from him. In the confusion of it all, he transformed into his human form and just collapsed. He continued writhing on the ground and screamed, “It burns!! Oh God it burns!!” He hacked up some blood while clawing away at his wound. Kakarot couldn’t help but stare at his brother in horror. What was wrong with him? At closer inspection, Kakarot noticed a steam-like vapor coming from his brother’s wound. It was similar to his reaction to silver.
Not being able to take the pain any longer, Raditz shot up from his position on the ground and began to flail around wildly, trying to search for any relief for his pain. He stumbled around until he reached the edge of the canyon. Kakarot barked in warning to alert his brother of the danger he put himself in, but before Kakarot could stop him, he fell over the edge. He immediately ran to the edge to see Raditz hit the canyon wall a few times before landing in the river below. Kakarot cringed at the sight and the splash that was heard when his brother fell, but didn’t risk jumping in after him to see if he was okay. Instead, he waited for him to surface. However, he didn’t get the chance when he heard a choked gasp and Vegeta called his name. Kakarot immediately perked up at the sound, almost forgetting about the half breed for a moment, then quickly made his way over to him. Vegeta clutched at the wound, as if attempting to make the bleeding stop. Kakarot made a whimper/whine at the claw marks and the bloody bite wound in the human prince’s torso, but didn’t hesitate another moment and bent down to lick at the horrific wounds. Vegeta cried out and writhed around while breathing harshly at the horrible itching sensation that the cub’s healing tongue made whenever he licked his wounds, but the pain wasn’t as horrible. After several more licks in the right places, Vegeta’s breathing slowed and he lost consciousness.
