Chapter 13
Vegeta was leaning on the rail, looking out onto the big lake that was directly in the center of a local park. It was a bright sunny day; the breeze was nice and it felt as if nothing could possibly go wrong.
“Hey.”
Turning his head to the voice, he smiled a little as Raditz walked up and leaned on the black rail, standing close to him. Now, nothing could go wrong, because his only friend decided to join him on this beautiful day.
The pair chatted for a good thirty minutes, before Vegeta noticed a little boy on a bike, stop and stare at him with a puzzled look. The brat couldn’t have been more than ten years of age; with his messy brown hair, blue eyes, and freckled face.
“Who are you talking to, mister?”
Vegeta stared back at him in disbelief.
“He’s talking to me,” Raditz snarled.
The prince was grateful that Raditz said something, because he was at a loss for words.
“You’re weird, mister,” the kid pointed. “My Mama told me to stay away from weird people like you.”
“Yeah, well your mother can go kill herself, brat,” Raditz growled, ready to give this insolent child a beating.
Vegeta didn’t say anything, because he didn’t know what to say. He’s never been called weird before. Was it strange to stand in the park and talk nowadays?
“Just ignore him, Vegeta.” Raditz said, laying a hand on his shoulder. “The kid is stupid, and is just looking for an excuse to get hit.”
The prince looked at him, confusion in his eyes, “I’ve never been called weird before.”
“Don’t worry about it, Ouji-sama,” the Saiyan guard reassured him.
