Chapter 13 (the wedding)
The next morning, Goten and Trunks awoke to find themselves alone. Bakunyu had left them a note explaining that she had had to go take care of some business, such as cancelling the rest of her "appointments" and making the transition to a life of luxurious retirement. The note ended with wishes for a happy wedding and a request for them to get back in touch with her after the honeymoon.
They rose, took a hot shower together, dressed, and went down to the hotel's restaurant to tear like buzzsaws through the free continental breakfast...which turned into lunch (you needed your strength on your wedding day). Once they had finished, leaving enormous stacks of dishes in their wake, they settled the bill at the front desk and flew off into the bright blue sky.
***
They arrived at the large conference center where the wedding was taking place with time to spare, at five minutes before 2:00. Bulma was waiting for them outside, and escorted them into the antechamber where she and the rest of their parents were waiting, along with one of the photographers. The mothers were going to walk their sons down the aisle, while the fathers would walk behind and slightly to one side, like an honor guard.
"All right, as soon as you get dressed, we'll be ready--" Bulma suddenly looked panicked. "You DID remember to get your vows done, didn't you?" They chuckled, and reassured her that they had; in fact, the perfect vows had popped into their heads when they had woken up.
"I'm glad for that. Well, your suits are in there," she said, pointing to a door that led off the antechamber. "Go get changed and then we'll get this show on the road!"
They headed into the indicated room, and noticed their clothes hanging off a rack in the corner, each labeled with one of their names. They shrugged out of their casual outfits and put on the perfect tailored suits.
And then they grinned at each other. They walked into a small storage closet and pulled out the boxes that they had hidden there a week ago. They still had one last prank to pull before being married...
***
When they stepped back into the antechamber, everyone's jaws dropped, even Goku's. The young lovers were wearing wedding dresses, large white poofy things that put the ones Chichi and Bulma had worn to their own weddings to shame. They came complete with lacy veils and even fake cleavage in the chest. The two of them waited exactly five seconds, then burst into laughter.
"Oh...the looks on your faces..." Goten said in-between giggles.
"We'll be treasuring these memories for a while to come," Trunks said, wiping tears of laughter from his eyes. "Don't worry, we have the tuxes on under these. We just couldn't resist getting a few more laughs from you."
Then they turned to the photographer, who picked up on his cue. They took one another's hands, nuzzled their faces against one another, and generally hammed it up for the camera for the next couple of minutes. Then they removed the dresses, each took their mother's arm, and headed into the enormous room where the ceremony would be performed. They walked down the aisle, between the seated guests, and to where Mirai and Gohan were waiting, as well as the officiant. Bulma and Chichi gave them a kiss on the cheek, then walked with stood off on either side with their husbands. Their older brothers handed them the rings.
"I understand the grooms have their own vows?" the officiant asked, and when they nodded, he continued, "Then go ahead." They looked into one another's eyes. Trunks spoke first.
"Son Goten, I love you, I want you, and I need you. Will you be my husband?"
"I will." Trunks slid the ring onto Goten's finger, who then spoke.
"Trunks Briefs, I love you, I want you, and I need you. Will you be my husband?"
"I will." Goten slid the ring onto Trunks's finger. It was the officiant's turn to speak again.
"By the power vested in me, I pronounce you husbands for life. You may kiss."
And they did.
