Chapter 13

They where both in Kai’s bedroom standing face to face, the moon shining through the window. The light from the full moon shined on Rai making be look like he was glowing. Kai kissed him and wrapped his arms around Rai’s waist. Kai then started to unbutton Rai’s shirt and took it of, revealing his beautiful chest. Breakfast was soon served up and they started to eat their food, Rai had to admit these bacon and eggs where really good. “Say Kai how come you never thought of becoming a chief, you would have been really good at it I mean your such a talented cook, so why did you take up acting instead” Rai asked him. “I never thought about becoming a chief and I decided to take the acting course is because my father use to be one” Kai told him. “Your father was wow he must’ve been really talented that is probably where you get your brilliance from” Rai said. “So you think I’m brilliant huh” Kai asked with a smirk on his face. “Well we are a couple aren’t we and its nice to say nice things to each other once in awhile, if you and I weren’t together I wouldn’t say you were brilliant at all” Rai replied.

They day ran by and Rai and Kai had went down to the lake and had a nice walk along the border. They did a few other things and then decided to head back to River Side. Rai was abit disappointed that they had to go but they had no choice. Besides they had to be back because it would be Monday the next day. Kai promised Rai that they would come down and stay for a bit longer over the holidays which sounded good.

It didn’t take them as long to get back to college like they had expected. They soon got settled back into their dorm room. They where lucky that no body saw them walking in together either wise people would be asking questions.

Kai had told Rai that they should put their relationship on hold for a while until they got back to there normal college routine. It was a bit odd for Rai to follow but he agreed to it a bit disappointed though. How where they to have a relationship when Kai was going to always try and distance himself. He thought he had gotten through to Kai back at the lake but it had seemed he didn’t quite get their.

Night soon came and Rai and Kai where sleeping in their own beds. Rai couldn’t fall asleep no matter how hard he tried his eyes just would not stay shut. He looked over and noticed that Kai wasn’t in his bed. ‘I wonder where Kai is’ he thought to himself, he got out of bed and walked into the lounge room. He saw Kai near the window looking out at the view of the college grounds.

“Kai what are you doing up you know we have classes tomorrow” Rai told him. “I couldn’t sleep” Kai replied, he was in the same situation as Rai was. They both couldn’t sleep it had seemed that something was troubling them both. “Is their something wrong Kai” Rai asked walking closer towards him. He stood just about two feet at the back from Kai wanting to know if something was bothering his boyfriend.

“Rai if I told you something that I have never told anyone before would you hate me” he asked Rai. “What are you talking about Kai” Rai was getting really confused about what Kai had just asked him. “I have a secret which I have never told to anyone but I am deciding to tell you, so if you hate me from what I am about to tell you I will completely understand” Kai told him. “Then what is it I am sure it cant be that bad for you to say that I might hate you because of it” Rai replied. “It had been on my mind and I think I should tell you” Kai took a big breath. “About two years ago before I started college I use to live in China and I was hanging with a gang back then I was not the person I am today, the gang I was in happened to be a group of murderer’s, when I was 12 my parents died I was to go live with my grandfather the one I told you about, but I didn’t want to go, when I ran away I had bumped into a man by the name Riku Tei he happened to be the gangs leader, he had let me stay with him and his gang at the time I thought they where just an ordinary group of guys but boy was I wrong, when I was 13 I saw one of the gang members kill some guy Riku told me that him and his gang got hired to kill people that other people wanted eliminated, Riku told me that if I ever went to the cops he would kill me personally so I just kept my mouth shut, about three or four years ago one of the guys did something stupid he decided to rob a candy store in China Town, later the next day in the newspaper was an article saying that two civilians had been shot by the thief, one was a young girl by the age of 11 and a teenage boy which was about 15 to 16, it said that the young girl died instantly but the boy survived, their where cops going round asking if they had seen the criminal or knew who he was they had asked me I wanted to say something but I couldn’t I had remembered what Riku told me, I soon decided after that, that I would go back and live with my grandfather leaving China and the gang behind” Kai finally told Rai

Rai couldn’t believe what he had just heard Kai had known the killer the criminal who had killed his little sister. “I I’ve need to be alone right now” he told Kai, so Kai decided to leave the dorm room to give Rai some space. “I’m sorry” he told Rai when he walked past him, once Rai heard the door shut he fell to the floor.

He wasn’t sure what to think his boyfriend had just told him something that he couldn’t believe. But when did Kai realise that it was him who was in that candy store at the time of the robbery. Did he keep the article or something he wasn’t quite sure what to think anymore. Why was Kai telling him so many things that could some how break this relationship they had. Did Kai do it because he wanted out or was he doing it because this is the real him.

First it was at the lake where Kai was telling him how he thought this wouldn’t work. Then after they would make love together because he had changed his mind about it. Now he was starting to to do it again without the sleeping together part though. Rai was getting really fed up with Kai because he hated it how Kai was playing with his emotions. Rai loved him to much to wanting to end it. Even though what Kai had just told him about his past inside of him he didn’t feel the hatred towards Kai.

What happened in the past can not be changed no matter how much a person wants it to. Rai knew that and he wanted Kai to know that to. He wanted Kai to realise that now isn’t the time to look back to the past. Instead it is time to look to the future and the future that Rai wanted with Kai. He didn’t care what people would think if they found out or anything else for that matter. He realised that he loved Kai just as much as he loves to act. He will make Kai understand that love is something no body should take for granted no matter what is in their past.
