Chapter Fourteen
Wracked with guilt, Gohan stumbled along the hall, raking a hand roughly through his unkempt hair. His whole body ached from sleeping all night on the hard, un-carpeted floor where he had cried himself into slumber. Thoughts and images of his betrayal swirled, unbidden, through his head. Mirai would not want him anymore. His one chance for happiness, dashed in a moment’s unforgiviable mistake.
‘Oh Mirai…’
He glanced up and realized that he had reached the door to their bedroom, his feet finding their way by sheer habit alone. He deliberated on the threshold, knowing he had to step forward but terrified of Mirai’s reaction and wrath to his indiscretion.
He slowly pushed the door open to reveal his koi, still asleep, sprawled on his stomach across their bed, snoring lightly, his muscular legs tangled in the sheets. Gohan smiled briefly at the kawaii image, trying to fix it in his mind before he shattered their blissful world forever.
He walked quietly over to the edge of the bed and sat down, weight dipping the mattress and waking Mirai. He sat up and regarded Gohan with a half-awake grin, one side of his hair mussed up into a bird’s nest.
“Mornin’…” He smiled lazily, rubbing an eye with a fist and leaned over to kiss Gohan, a sleepy, puzzled frown crossing his face when Gohan avoided his lips and his gaze.
“What’s wrong, Go-chan?” He asked, concerned, noticing the uneasy look on Gohan’s face.
Gohan sighed and bit his lip, shifting on the bed, wishing he could just erase the past 24 hours. A brief hope flared as he considered using the dragonballs. Goku collected them each time they became active and kept them at CC in case of an emergency. The hope dissipated rapidly when he realized that his father would want to know what he was wishing for and why. He couldn’t admit something like that to him. His father would be so disappointed.
“I…I…Oh Mirai…” Gohan choked out, bursting into tears. Mirai quickly scooted over to him and wrapped his arms around the sobbing Son. He stroked his hair and murmured soothing words in his ear as Gohan wept.
“Shhh…what is it koi?” Mirai whispered once the tears were reduced to sniffles. Gohan shook his head, beginning to cry again.
“Mirai…I…I...made a mistake” He murmured..
“What was it?”
“I…had sex with someone…” Gohan sobbed harder, the words becoming unintelligible towards the end, however the damage was done. Mirai frowned, possessiveness and anger rising in him.
“Who…?”
Gohan cried and shook his head. Mirai fisted a hand in his shirt, shaking him.
“I asked who!?”
Gohan cried out, tears streaming down his face.
“T-T Trunks.” Gohan shuddered as Mirai’s fist fell away in shock, feeling the mattress lift as the future prince stood up, pulling the sheet to wrap around him. Gohan rolled into a ball on the bed, feeling the warmth left by his koi’s sleeping body, probably for the last time.
“When?” A terse command.
“Last night…I thought he was you…”
There was a pause.
“You thought he was me…?” Mirai’s voice was low and cold. Gohan cringed, nodding his head, avoiding his gaze.
“How the fuck could you think he was me?!” Mirai suddenly erupted, coming over to drag Gohan’s tear-streaked face up by the hair to face him.
“It was dark! There were no lights! Oh Gods I’m so sorry!” Gohan shrieked, bringing his hands up to cover his face as Mirai made a disgusted sound and threw him back onto the bed, turning away.
“You’re being too hard on him…’ Mirai conscience spoke.
‘Shut up!’ He snarled silently, closing his eyes
‘It’s no different to what you did…’
‘I said, SHUT UP!’
Mirai didn’t want to be reminded. It was wrong what he;’d done. He knew that now. But…maybe…there was a chance for them both. To give each other absolution. Mirai turned back to Gohan who was still sobbing, crushing his face into a pillow.
He walked silently over to the bed and sat down, Gohan flinching when he reached down to cup his face, expecting a blow. Mirai leaned down and kissed his grief-swollen lips, gently wiping away tears. Gohan looked puzzled and sat up, sniffing. Did this mean Mirai would stay with him?
Mirai looked back at the ground briefly before speaking
“Koi…” He began, a smile breaking on Gohan’s face at the name. Mirai smiled sadly at him, reaching out to reassure him.
“Gohan…I…can forgive you…” Gohan smiled. “If you will forgive me…” He spoke quietly.
Gohan frowned, confusion evident on his face.
‘For what? Forgive him for what?’
Mirai continued. It was now or never.
“The first few weeks I was here, just after we found each other, but before we decided to be mates…I…” He sighed and Gohan shifted closer, draping a comforting arm across his shoulders.
“You what…?”
“I slept with someone…also”
Gohan gasped, shocked, removing his arm.
“Who?”
Mirai thought back to that blissful day, now forever tainted with regret.

SORRY! That was really short but I wanted a cliffhanger kinda thing…the remainder of this chapter will be posted in a few days…Just wanted to know people reactions to this…so review and tell me how you think the storys going and if I should really keep going with this!!!
Now that I’m done whoring for reviews…heh heh…um…oh yeah…also the chapter would have been too huge so I had to split it anyway! Sorry again!!!
