Stephanie takes her time that afternoon to have a shower and get dressed. Usually it is a quick task, incorporating no relaxation. Stephanie\'s body is sore from the intense love-making of the night before, particularly the area that received the most friction. That evening after a meal, Stephanie and Vegeta get into their spacepod and launch to their original destination. The trip will take two days. Stephanie hears Freiza when she puts on her scouter. \"Where have you been?!\" He screeches. \"It took you a whole day?!?!?! I think you\'re been slacking off, you brats! Stupid monkeys...\" Vegeta snickers...

\"Oh trust me Freiza, we\'ve been doing some good hard work.\" Freiza instructs them to be back to the ship as soon as possible. Again, Vegeta reinforces the image of Freiza as a horrible whiny child in his head. Such a fool shouldn\'t control the Prince of all Saiyans. Someday soon... Vegeta will rise against Freiza. The second day of travel begins and Stephanie is curled up with Vegeta, silent and thoughtful. \"Hey Stephanie.\" \"Hm?\"

\"Have you had anymore \'visions\'? \"Just daydreams of me and you...her beloved Saiyan Prince laughs. Stephanie soon falls asleep and dreams for the rest of the trip. Stephanie\'s wandering around in space. Her footsteps are light on nothingness. Stephanie didn\'t fall, there is no need to fly. And she can breathe... It only makes sense that she\'s Freiza. Her skin crawls in Freiza\'s horrible body. It doesn\'t fit her. Stephanie wants to take it off, but it starts to implode. She screams, but no sound comes out. The last thing Stephanie sees from Freiza\'s eyes is Vegeta staring at something, grief and shock in his face. He is slightly illuminated by light. Then Stephanie opens her eyes and finds that her body is whole.

There is a dark figure standing over her, but she can\'t see who it is. Only a shadow. Stephanie reaches out to touch it and the shadow recoils. Stephanie trys to speak to it. The figure makes no sign of comprehension. It walks away. Stephanie wakes from her dream just as the spacepod lands on planet Baldol.

Vegeta pushes Stephanie from his lap out of the spacepod. The planet is very easy to conquer. It takes Stephanie and Vegeta about 12 hours to extinguish all signs of life. Baldol is extremely resource-rich. Freiza is selling it for a very high price. About halfway through Stephanie\'s rampaging a being runs to her and pleads with her, shrieking and crying miserably: \"How can you be so cruel!? How would you feel if your family were crushed and destroyed by the hands of another creature!\" \"Anyone weak enough to be overcome by their enemy deserves it!\"

But Stephanie finds that what she said hurts her deeply. A seed in her mind grows to take control of her. The faces of thousands of Mirfans flash before Stephanie - just before she killed them. The fear and weakness Stephanie sees makes her want to destroy. Stephanie wants to crush them with her hands... Her muscles pulse. Stephanie wants to feel their blood run over her arms. And yet they torment her. A stabbing sense of responsibility chokes Stephanie. There is so much guilt. Her hands clutch the hair at the side of her head and she screams. Ki creates a firelight around you. Vegeta notices and blasts the Alien who spoke to Stephanie. He lands before her and pries her fingers from her hair. Holding Stephanie\'s arms above the elbows he shakes her. \"Stephanie! Get a grip, woman!\" He shouts with anger and annoyance. The images fade. Stephanie blinks at him. \"I\'m becoming weak...\" It comes out as a whisper. \"Just finish the job! I\'ll deal with you later!\" Vegeta flies off stormily. His face was so angry...

Vegeta finds little fun in the remainder of his killing spree. He was bored anyway, having to kill beings much weaker than him. Stephanie half expected Vegeta to embrace her, but he doesn\'t, so she stays where she is. \"How are you?\" He asks, his expression unreadable. \"Vegeta, what happened back there was nothing to worry about! I\'m oka-,\" He cuts Stephanie off with a burst of anger. \"Don\'t try to tell me it\'s nothing, woman!!\"

He moves forward and grips the material of her sleeve with his fingers, pulling Stephanie towards him. \"Or I swear, I\'ll-\" \"Swear you\'ll what!?\" Stephanie demands, now equally as angry. Stephanie smashs his arm with the side of her hand and pulls away from him. He reaches forward and forces her to him. His arms come around Stephanie in an embrace. \"Swear I\'ll kill every last Saskol for doing this to you...\" To Stephanie\'s surprise, she\'s trembling. \"I know you\'ve still been having visions. You\'re so restless in your sleep. Why do you think I can\'t tell? It doesn\'t make you weak to suffer. What\'s weak is if you can\'t face it and get through it. But I won\'t let that happen to you.\" A few unwelcome tears spill from Stephanie\'s eyes, down her face and she sighs shakily. \"I thought you were going to kill me.\"

Vegeta is shocked by her crying and stung by her words. \"Violence is a Saiyan\'s nature, but as a rule, when something is valuable to you, you protect it. You are the strongest warrior I know besides Freiza and myself. You are my mate, Stephanie. You must fight this, whatever it is.\" Stephanie looks up at Vegeta\'s face. \"What if this is some kind of curse to make me distracted during battle. I think what they want is my death. If it causes me to make a wrong move in combat...\" Vegeta shrugs. \"It could be. As much as I hate him, I think we should talk to Freiza about it. Let\'s go back now.\" \"It\'s alright. Despite what Freiza might say, he doesn\'t want to lose you because you\'re very useful to him.\" On the way back, Vegeta stays in the same pod as Stephanie, regardless if you took one or two. He wants to make sure that she\'ll be alright with the visions getting worse. It\'s much comfier sharing a pod with Vegeta. Stephanie sleeps undisturbed for the next 10 hours. About 62 hours of space-travel remain.

Another day is spent in the spacepod. \"We could just go into cold sleep, then we wouldn\'t have to spend all day in such a small space.\" Vegeta reminds Stephanie. \"I know... But I want to be here with you.\" She\'s sitting sideways across Vegeta\'s lap. He is sitting against the side of the spacepod. He starts to tell Stephanie about Planet Vegeta - life, customs, and ranks. The Prince did not live on his Planet for very long, but he absorbed so much. Stephanie didn\'t realize he remembered so much about it. His fingers glided through her hair. -How can he be so cold and ruthless, yet compassionate to me.- Stephanie wonders, glad to finally hear more about Saiyans than pride and fighting.

-He\'s a perfect mix of things.- she finally decides, then kisses him unexpectedly. He laughs. \"You want me to shut up?\" Stephanie shakes her head. \"Please continue.\" After she learns about and discusses Saiyan history, Vegeta tells her to sleep for the remainder of the trip. \"I might be waking you up during the night, so you might as well sleep now.\" He smirks. If he wasn\'t joking, Vegeta was suggesting that Stephanie have an open relationship on Freiza\'s ship. Is that possible? Again, sleep comes easily to her. Vegeta rouses Stephanie before reaching Freiza\'s ship. The spacepod connects, and the returning warriors step out to be greeted by Freiza smiling menacingly.

\"What\'s this? Did you forget that you each have your own spacepod? How silly...\" Again, Vegeta covers for Stephanie. \"Until you trust her, Freiza, it\'s best I keep a close eye on her.\" Freiza strides over to her. \"Indeed. And perhaps your hands as well, Vegeta?\" He does something Stephanie finds odd, Freiza squeezes her cheek and turns her face to the side. He then hits Stephanie in the stomach with full force and she rams into the wall of the ship. \"It would be unfortunate if she became unmanageable...\" Freiza says. -Fighting him is no use,- Stephanie tells yourself. -No matter how angry I am, Freiza is too strong.- Vegeta is fuming behind Freiza. -How dare he hit Stephanie!- The fact that he can\'t protect his own mate torments him. Stephanie gets to her feet slowly, reeling from the blow. \"Leave us now, Stephanie!\" Says Freiza. Stephanie goes silently to her room with her wounded pride. She can\'t even bring herself to look at Vegeta.

Freiza turns to Vegeta. \"You can\'t pretend you aren\'t fucking that little girl.\" Freiza spits. Vegeta faces him with a stony glare. His insides crawl with rage. \"Don\'t think for an instant that I\'ll allow a bratty Saiyan heir aboard this ship! Do you understand!? If Stephanie has your child, I will take the baby and rip it apart.\" Freiza continues to say that Stephanie is still useful to him and he doesn\'t want Vegeta to ruin that. Vegeta doesn\'t hear any of this. -An heir!? A child!? At this very moment she could be carrying the pure-blooded Saiyan heir!! Why didn\'t I consider this!? I can\'t allow Freiza to make her suffer...\" His mind is overcome by the new situation. \"You Saiyans are pathetic!! To give in to something as stupid as lust. You\'ve been warned, Vegeta. In the morning we will discuss some interesting business opportunities.\" Freiza leaves Vegeta alone with his thoughts.

For only a few minutes Vegeta\'s mind is in chaos. Soon, his logic takes over. He will not be controlled by circumstance, he will adapt to it. There must be some way to get what he wants out of this. Plans come together in his head. It doesn\'t take long for him to become calm again. He is sure of himself, and of what he will do. Stephanie is in your room lying face down on the bed. Pain lingers from Freiza striking her in the stomach. Fear hangs over her head, manifesting itself in a queazy feeling. Her thoughts are clouded by visions drilling into her consciousness. Stephanie keeps pushing the thoughts away, trying to empty her mind. Eventually she succumbs. She\'s in some small village killing people. Stephanie feels a shockwave, and turns around. There is Raditz speeding towards her.

Stephanie punchs at him. The image of Raditz dissolves into Vegeta, who is standing in front of her. He catches Stephanie\'s fist. His lips twist into a smirk. \"Tired of me already? What was in your head just now?\" Vegeta manages to get the truth out of her. He kisses her lips and takes off his armour. \"Well I\'d hit him too if he was coming at me like that.\" Vegeta moves Stephanie to the center of her bed and pulls the covers over both of them. He is more worried about Stephanie than he lets on. Stephanie has enough on her mind. There are more important things to deal with than the visions right now. His hands rest on her belly. \"Are you hurt?\" He says quietly. \"It\'s alright. I was just surprised he did that. Vegeta, do you care if the others know about us?\" Vegeta is very collected in his reply. \"They will anyway now. Freiza will tell them. I think it\'s better that they know that you belong to me anyway.\" Somehow, Stephanie\'s just not sure.

Vegeta rests his head back on the bed. \"How do you feel about getting pregnant, Stephanie?\" Her mind draws a blank. \"Huh?\" She responds. \"Pregnant?\" Vegeta\'s eyes widen. Stephanie\'s on top of Vegeta. Both of them are completely covered by the blanket. It peaks where it rests on the top of her head. Enough light is coming through that they can see each other. Stephanie blinks at Vegeta. \"What\'s pregnant? Is it a food?\" Vegeta is momentarily speechless. -I can\'t believe we slept together and she doesn\'t even know what pregnant is! I guess on a ship full of males she\'d never have a chance to talk about it.\" He thinks. His flustered expression confusesen to her. \"Didn\'t you study biology on the ship computers?\" \"A little...\" \"It\'s when a woman has a child growing inside of her.\" Vegeta says quickly, wanting to get the explanation over with. \"Oh...\" Stephanie sort of guessed how reproduction worked, but she was never really sure.

\"That\'s... Um... that\'s why you and I... *blush* fit...?\" Vegeta rubs her shoulders. \"It doesn\'t necessarily work right away, but it\'ll happen if we keep having sex.\" It seems like a lot to consider. Stephanie is having a hard time completely accepting it. -Does that mean I could be pregnant now?- She wonders. Stephanie pulls the blanket off her head - suddenly she\'s feeling a lack of oxygen. \"I knew about... that! I think I understand how if works. But I forgot! And I wasn\'t thinking about it at all that night!\" Stephanie says, frustrated with herself. Vegeta laughs. \"Well you\'re thinking about it now.\" Stephanie\'s expression softens. \"So that\'s what it means... to be your mate, Vegeta?\" Vegeta moves his hand to the back of her head and pulls her closer. He bites Stephanie\'s jaw, then her earlobe. \"Let me come to your bed, satisfy me... have my kids. That\'s what it means.\"

Last night in bed Vegeta was great, but not as energetic as the first night. Maybe the conversation Stephanie had before was unnerving for him. Many things had been wearing on her, so she was glad he was able to get her mind off of them. Vegeta left Stephanie to sleep by herself. The bed was still warm... but she was lonely for him. In the morning Stephanie reports directly to Freiza. He acts as if nothing happened yesterday. \"Stephanie!! I\'ve just sold Baldol.\" He motions for her to have a seat. \"I\'m in a good mood because the buyer took my first price! Perhaps it was because I threatened him a little.\" Stephanie sits down and Freiza shows her a virtual map of the galaxy she just entered last night. \"Remember when you fought the Mirfan?\" Freiza asks. His face alludes to the fact that he knows what Stephanie took away from that fight. \"Yes. I remember.\" Freiza points to an area on the map.

\"When we get here, you will have to fight relatives of the Mirfans. However, you can expect them to be much stronger here.\" -Saskols- Stephanie says to herself, and she remembers what Vegeta said to her on Baldol. -I will face them with no hesitation.- \"Nappa and Raditz will have a hard time in this galaxy!\" Freiza laughs. \"The beings have power levels up to 700. I\'ve decided to put you back into a group of four so you and Vegeta can babysit those weaklings.\"

Raditz, Nappa, and Vegeta walk in and seat themselves around the table with Stephanie and Freiza. Vegeta doesn\'t even look at her. Freiza gives them the update that the Saiyans will be travelling as four and moving up from fighting insects. \"I\'ve also alerted my special Ginyu Force! They will arrive shortly to assist you simpering primates.\" Vegeta\'s left eyebrow twitches. He frowns deeply. -What an insult to assume that I, Prince Vegeta would need assistance from trash like those Ginyu morons!- Stephanie sighs with distaste, but she can\'t help smiling. She\'s feeling very excited about facing some tough opponents. The training will help Stephanie clear her cluttered head. Freiza outlines the sequence of planets they will visit. He gives them directions for the next week - tomorrow she will go on her first mission in this galaxy.

The four Saiyans leave to prepare. Vegeta and Nappa go to a training room. After a while Raditz finds Stephanie and asks if she wants to train. \"Let\'s go!\" Stephanie says eagerly. The training rooms are not too large - about the size of an average earthling backyard. They are suspended in layers, like a box within a box within a box, so that if the walls of the training room are damaged there is a buffer zone around it to protect the ship. Stephanie does a few warm-up stretches and then goes straight at Raditz. He meets her attack and matches what she throws at him. Her power levels are unbalanced, so she backs off on power and trys to focus her speed. Stephanie forces herself to go faster and use more subtlety in her movements, catching him off-guard countless times. Raditz gets Stephanie alot too, but it hardly bothers her.

The fast paced sparring is like a game, and it suits her - the thrill of fighting so fast Stephanie barely has time to read her opponent\'s moves. The worries rooted in Mirfa are far away from her. Stephanie catches Raditz with a well positioned kick. His reach is much longer than her own, so his counter has more power. Stephanie is struck off her feet. Raditz offers his hand. Stephanie takes it and he pulls her to her feet. \"You got the first good hit in.\" He says. Stephanie smiles at him, accepting his words as praise. Stephanie trains with Raditz well into the afternoon. The fighting becomes progressively slower with more emphasis on power shots. Stephanie can tell Raditz is worn out.

She feels pretty good herself, but she doesn\'t want to train against him if he isn\'t at full power. Stephanie wipes sweat from her face. \"I\'m gonna quit now Raditz. Later.\" Before Stephanie reaches the door he is in the doorway to stop her. She scowls at him. \"Back off! I said I\'m done!\" Raditz grins, but malice flashes in his eyes. \"Before you leave. I just wanted to hear it from you. You picked the Prince, huh?\" Stephanie nods. \"I\'m Vegeta\'s mate.\" \"He\'s the closest to your age. So, it\'s no surprise. You\'re a strong woman Stephanie. I enjoy training with you.\" His fingers brush over her cheek. Stephanie\'s just about to hit him when he steps out of the doorway. \"But think about it Stephanie.\" He warns. \"You are younger than all of us and already your power level is so high. Do you honestly think that Vegeta will let you live if your power begins to rival his? You KNOW Vegeta. You\'re a fool if you lose sight of how ruthless he is. You should have accepted my offer.\" Raditz\'s malicious grin widens. Stephanie no longer hears him speak, but as he walks away he says under his breath, \"She\'d be fun to play with... That lucky Bastard Vegeta... I will make them both suffer for insulting me.\"

For two weeks Stephanie is at Freiza\'s ship off and on. It proves difficult to kill off entire Planets, just as Freiza predicted. However, she pushes on, wanting to test her endurance constantly. Nappa and Raditz can\'t handle as much as Stephanie and Vegeta, so they often go slack on the fighting. As a result, Stephanie and Vegeta became overworked. Stephanie hardly ever sees Vegeta. When she goes to a planet he fights away from the group.

Stephanie suspects he goes directly to where the enemies have the highest power levels. Whenever she\'s on Freiza\'s ship Vegeta is training with Raditz, or Nappa, or by himself. He doesn\'t ask Stephanie to train with him. This upsets her. But she does get to see him when he comes to her bed at night. He doesn\'t say much, but he keeps Stephanie busy until she falls asleep. He\'s always gone when she wakes up. Vegeta meanwhile is constantly pushing himself to the maximum in preparation for the inevitable - a confrontation with Freiza. He has made plans to accommodate any problems Stephanie will face.

He has taken hers and his spacepods to alien mechanics and ordered that they be made faster. Now they have a speed faster than Freiza\'s ship and they can sustain 5 years of cryogenic sleep. When Stephanie becomes pregnant, Vegeta plans to send her to an unlikely planet before Freiza even notices. He is unsure if he will join her right away. There are many factors to consider, but most important to him: Can he live with running away from a fight with Freiza? Once Stephanie and Vegeta are gone, there\'s a chance Freiza will never find them. But it\'s doubtful that Freiza will just let them go peacefully.

He will most likely hunt Stephanie and Vegeta until he is killed, or kills them. One day, the four Saiyans are finished clearing out another planet for Freiza. Stephanie and Raditz go back to the ship unaware that Vegeta and Nappa remain on the planet. Stephanie goes straight to her bed and falls asleep. \"Come on Nappa!\" Says Vegeta. \"I need more training that those small rooms on the ship can allow.\" Nappa nods and the two start to fight. Vegeta is vicious. He takes sucker shots, and hits with full power in an attempt to push Nappa to the limits. He taunts Nappa, calling him weak and stupid. Nappa throws a blow he is sure he will land and before he knows it, Vegeta is behind him, his foot connects with Nappa\'s back and Nappa splashes into a river. Humiliation singes him, he faces the Saiyan Prince with water dripping from his clothes.

\"Honestly Nappa! I\'m going easy on you! What kind of pathetic fool leaves himself open like that?!\" Nappa becomes angry, and charges at the Prince. The two duke it out for some time - and then Nappa sees an opening. He is so enraged at this point that he puts an enormous amount of ki into his next blast. Vegeta is struck in the torso. Blood spills to the ground as if it was poured... \"O.O!!! NOOOO VEGETA!!!\"
