Now to respond to my reviwers. :D
Anna :: Yes, I had left this story off months ago. I was more into FMA than I am now but I will try and continue you this! Thanks for your support! ^^
Michelle :: No, Roy doesn't perform taboo and bring Hughes back. I've seen the movie several times, and I've read up on it, and thats probably something more "Fanon" than "Canon". And, I know Envy dies in the movie D: I was very sad at that since he's such a great character and all. But, as much as I love following the storyline, I needed a character like Envy to help my own storyline along XD
THANKS SOO MUCH TO THOSE WHO REVIEWED THE PROLOUGE!!!
Now... Onto the story! ^_^
"...That should be it." Al traced the last of the large Alchemic array on the ground and clapped his hands together, sealing the underground city away for good, and all of the horrible secrets it held. The young boy glanced at the ground with tears in his eyes, sniffling slightly as the transmutaion finished, and the bond to their world and the other was seemingly gone forever, or to be more accurate, his brother...was gone forever. At least until they met in a different lifetime.
"Good job, Alphonse." A hand clasped onto the boys shoulder and Al turned back to see the Colonel, as Ed had called him, Roy Mustang standing behind him. The former military hero was wearing his uniform still, a cape draped over his broad soldiers. His lapel and breast were empty without rank tags, but Al knew he would soon hold power again; He and Ed had saved their country,"...Ed wants it this way." his voice was quiet, the one eye that was not covered by a patch was staring down at the ground like it was a grave of somesort. Like he had buried someone dear to him under the ground and would not see them until they met again in heaven or elsewhere.
Al nodded solemnly, "I know..." he placed a hand on his knee and stood up with a sigh, "I just wish that my brother could have stayed here in this world with everyone." he glanced up at the sky where he last saw Ed departing only a few short months ago. He could still remember the sad look on his brothers face as he left himself and Roy.
          Heartbroken; In so many ways.
Roy glanced down at the mention of Ed, "...Me too." he admitted with a sad smile, heartbreak reflecting in his eyes,"Then again, we can't always have what we want." His voice held a certain grief and lonliness that Al knew would not heal for a very long while.
"Yeah..." Al trailed off, glancing down at his gloves and red jacket that were practically identical to the ones his brother use to wear, "...Oh well." he turned back to Roy, noticing the distant look on the Colonel's face, rekindling something that he had been meaning to ask him, "...Did..." Al paused, questioning his choice of words, "Did you really love my brother?" Roy glanced over, his one eye wide for a moment before softening into a rather somber look, "Winry told me that... she thought you and Ed were more than just rivals or... superior and subordinate. That..." Al glanced down, "And I've been getting some of my memories back."
Roy smiled fondly at that, and nodded, "Yes, Alphonse. I love Edward." he admitted without pause, it seemed like almost everyone knew of his and Ed's secret love affair. And everyone also knew of Roy's unrequited love for Ed. He'd even spent 3 years waiting for him, and without Alchemy...
Up in that small rundown cabin he had lived in, deep in the mountains where it snowed practically all the time, Roy had secluded himself from his friends, family, the military... Everyone. He'd forbade himself from alchemy, he'd even taken a lower rank for that time being and for killing the Fuhrer. His only visitors had been a few brief talks with Breda and Havoc who had questioned his abstinence from Alchemy. At that time, he'd told them that Alchemy only reminded him of the people who'd died because of his 'foolishness', and that refraining from it was his way of repenting. However, Roy knew deep down that the reason he didn't even dare look at an Alchemic array or rekindle a hearth without the use of matches was because of Ed. Alchemy reminded him of Ed; It was something that Edward was, undeniably, the master of. A genius, to be precise.
"...I could tell." Al smiled in a sweet fashion, drawing Roy from his nostaglic trance, "I think he felt the same way."
Roy glanced over, and shook his head, "No, no..." he let out a small sigh, "Ed never expressed any feelings for me like that."
"Oh..." Al sighed, glancing down at the ground for a few moments, and then around at the once city that was now in repair. As Ed had said, it had been his and Al's fault that all of that had happened. That the gate to the two worlds had been opened, and that horrible lady had come through. Al's eyes were still focused on the ground as he thought. He wanted to help. He wanted to help people. But he didn't know how. He didn't even know what happened in the four years after his Mother's failed transmutation. Or at least he had very few memories. Most of them were of his brother and himself, and Ed's journies as a State Alchemist in persuit of, what he guess, was the Philosophers Stone. And along the way... Ed had helped people. He'd used his power as a State Alchemist the whole way, "...State...Alchemist...?" Al whispered to himself with a smile, and then looked back up at Roy, "Colonel Mustang?" he stood up, "How does one become a certified State Alchemist like my brother was?"
Roy glanced at the teen, his eyebrow raised, "Why do you ask, Alphonse?"
"I want to become a State Alchemist." Al smiled, "Like my brother was."
The Colonel blinked a few times, almost not registering what Al had asked, "...What?" he asked at first in disbelief, before recovering and coming to his senses, "Alphonse, no." he shook his head, "No, Ed wouldn't want you to become a dog of the military like he was."
Al sighed, "...I know. But Ed isn't here anymore is he?" he glanced up at the Colonel, a bit sad at having admitted that, "Please, Colonel? Please?" Al was asking as nicely as he could, "I don't care if I become a dog of the military. I just want to help people. And learn more about Alchemy. Become just as good as my brother was."
Roy looked over at Al for a moment, seeing that same determination in his eyes that he always saw in Ed's. He knew that Ed wouldn't approve of Al becoming a State Alchemist, but it was Al's choice. And Roy really couldn't deny it. He knew Al had almost the same skills as his brother. Not necessarily equal, but so close there was only a few differences in their understanding of the science, "...Alright." Roy sighed, his eyes falling down to Al, "You can take the State Alchemist Exam." Al's eyes widened in delight, "However... I want you to study with someone before you do."
"Study? With who?" Al blinked a few times.
Roy thought for a moment, before answering, "Myself of course." he sighed a bit to himself, "I'll... take care of you in Ed's steed."
"You don't have to do all that, Colonel! I barely know you... well, at least I barely remember knowing you." Al blinked several times at Roy's offer; He hadn't expected him to offer so much. Especially something like personally helping him with the exam.
"I know... But if anyone is going to train you and teach you, it's me." Roy blinked a few times himself, as much as he knew about Alchemy, teaching was a whole different matter. He didn't know if he had the patience for it.
"...Okay!" Al got a sparkle in his eyes of pure joy suddenly. Roy didn't know what he was getting himself into, but he had a feeling it would be a good way to get his mind off of Ed. Or maybe it wasn't considering that Al was Ed's younger brother. Then again, they were so very different sometimes...

"...Dante?" the name struck a cord in Ed's memory, but he couldn't quite connect it with anything in particular. He glanced down at his metal and non-metal hands, trying to remember who this girl was. He felt like he knew her. Somehow. But he couldn't place it...
A knock on the door came suddenly, followed by it flying open, "Dante..." A person in a rather skimpy two piece black outfit walked in, long greenish hair hanging down his back in long spikes, held back from his face by a headband, "Your bath is ready." Ed glanced carefully over the person, noting that besides his weird clothing, he had a very familar tatoo on his thigh.
"...Ouroboros...?" he whispered, the word suddenly aquainting with something in his mind, "...Homunculus?" he glanced at the man, whom had reacted to what he said with a rather evil grin, and walked in a catty fashion over to the bed. He took Ed's chin between his fingers and leaned down to his eye level. Ed glanced in a hard fashion at the man before he suddenly remembered his name, "...Envy..." he said in a low whisper, his mind easily remembering getting beat down by the rather lithe man in front of him.
"So the Fullmetal Pipsqueak remembers me?" Envy's grin widened into a rather manical and vicious smirk, his face getting closer to Ed's, "Good." He threw his chin back roughly, causing Ed to fall back against the pillows, "I was afraid we'd have to get aquainted again." Envy tossed Ed another fiendish sneer, cracking his knuckles together in a 'come and get it' way as he backed away from the bed.
"Settle down, Envy." Dante glanced over at the Homunculus in a reprimanding fashion to which Envy gave her a rather defiant look, "Edward is confused enough."
Ed shot a glare at Envy, almost on instinct. His mind could not equate anything other than 'hate' and 'enemy' with him. Ed knew, even with his mind in a jumble, he didn't like him. And if he touched him again, Ed would make sure he knew just how he felt.
Envy returned Ed's glare with his own still, "What? You want to fight me? Even if you don't remember it, I've always kicked your ass, shorty."
"Don't call me short!" Ed clapped his hands together, again on instinct, and transmuted his automail arm into a long blade. This action stunned Ed, "...H-How...?" he glanced at his arm, wondering how the hell he'd done that, or why he had reacted so quickly to the insult on his height.
"Good!" Dante smiled, turning to Envy with an amused look that Ed could not see, "You can still use Alchemy."
The word struck a cord in Ed's mind. Alchemy. He knew that. He knew that better than anything... Or at least, that was what his mind was telling him, "I... guess I can." Ed clapped his hands together again, and withdrew the blade. The action seemed so simple to him, like he had done it hundreds of times before. Alchemy was, from what he could tell, a part of his life. He had a feeling he'd been very good at it; One of the best. But there were still holes that needed to be filled before Ed could feel completely comfortable with it. Everything seemed so new... Yet so familiar.
He let out a sigh, feeling the familar pain he recognized as hunger take surface, "...Can I have something to eat?" he looked at Dante, whom nodded and motioned to Envy to do something about it. The Homunculus agreed in an irritated sort of way, grabbing Ed's wrist rather roughly and leading him out the door toward the dining hall as Dante left for the bathroom.
Ed pulled his wrist from Envy's grasp, "Don't touch me..." He hatefully glared at the crabby Homunculus. He hated the feeling of that homunculus touching him.
Envy stopped after that, growling to himself and turning to Ed with his lightning-like reflexes, taking both wrists and shoving Ed up against the nearest wall with a brutal force, "I'll touch you all I want, runt." he trailed his tongue along his lips, staring at Ed in a rather hungry fashion. He took in every detail of Ed's face; The soft, smooth skin, the sharp, focused amber eyes, the full lips just waiting to be kissed. Ed was just too damn attractive for his own good sometimes, "...I can see why that Colonel had a thing for you now." he took in Ed's body which had grown over the years. He was no longer the child he had once been, or at least, he'd grown a few inches and filled out in some places, "You're kinda cute when you're up close like this; Helpless, angry, and begging for it." he purred.
Ed gave the Homunculus a confused look, "What do you mean...?" he asked, referring to the 'Colonel' comment. Although, he was wondering what the "begging for it" comment was implying as well.
"I'll tell you about that later..." Envy let him go before he lost control of himself, like most people did with Ed, "For now, pip-squeak, just stop smarting off to me. You and I might actually get along."
"What if I don't?" Ed glared, even with his memory gone, he still hadn't lost his fiery, smart-ass, defiant way of his. That was more than instinct or even nature; It was just Ed.
"Cause..." Envy got in his face suddenly, "I'll make you." he glared, pushing Ed into the wall with one finger, easily making him hit his head, "And trust me, Ed, I won't be as gentle as the Colonel was." he flipped his hair at Ed and continued walking on, leaving the former State Alchemist again in confusion... Just who was this Colonel?
"Wait!" Ed grabbed Envy's wrist, "What do you mean by that?" he was confused, yet curious. He wanted to know what he meant by that, "Who is this... Colonel?" When he thought about that word, he felt something inside; Something warm. Something comforting. Something that Ed was confused and scared by, yet he wanted to know more.
"Confused?" he turned around, "About the Colonel?" He smirked, "You still don't remember what the Colonel did to you, Edward?" he grinned, running his hand along Ed's smooth jawline, making him flinch.
Ed stepped back, falling through an open doorway into a large dark room, "...W-What do you mean?" he glanced at his new dark surroundings, nervous at the lack of light the room had. Not to mention the fact that Envy was coming in after him.
"Maybe..." Envy still wore that smirk that made Ed cringe, the dark shadows in the room made it even more alarming, "Maybe I need to refresh your memory." his grin widened again, this time laced with what Ed could recognize as lust; Something he felt that he was rather accustomed to for some reason.
"W-What...?" Ed's throat was dry; Somehow... he almost knew what he meant.
"I'd always wanted to do this to you, you know..." Envy smirked and pulled Ed toward him, pressing the younger, human teen's body against his own. He leaned down and captured his lips in an unwilling, deep and rather firece kiss. Ed let out a shriek into Envy's mouth almost instantly as their lips met, pushing at his chest as the homunculus forced him to respond. Envy was enjoying the struggle Ed was putting up, and the overall taste of the boy's ever so obvious fear; Ed was so scared at that moment that it brought chills down Envy's spine. The homunculus let out a low, creepy cackle as he pushed Ed's trembling, confused lips from his. With another easy gesture, Ed was easily sitting on the bed in the room, "Time to revive some of those memories of yours..." he smiled evily, and shut the large door behind himself, licking his lips almost as he stared at Edward on the bed. Even if he was that bastards' son, he still was pretty damn cute. Even now that he was grown up.
"W-Wha---!?" Ed lost what color he had as Envy crawled on the bed, straddling his waist as he tried to get up, "Get off of m---" A hand was placed over his mouth, the other grabbing his thrashing wrists and holding them down.
"This would have been easier when you were smaller." Envy sighed, having some trouble with Ed's struggling, "Stop struggling, damnit!" He slapped Ed with his hand closest to the teen's face, leaving a nice red mark on his cheek, "...Better." He smiled as Ed stopped resisting, a look of pure fear and confusion in the younger's eyes. Envy leaned down and captured his lips again, feeling that Ed was quite freaked out by the sensation, considering this was another male kissing him. Another male that he hated. He could feel the uneasy feeling of Envy's erection against his lower body, and Ed couldn't help but kick up at him, trying to get Envy off. A hand slid up his shirt suddenly, and Ed shivered. The slight rocking of Envy's hips against his was unwelcomed, but he couldn't but be aroused by it, his body betraying his mind. Obviously, his body remembered something that he didn't about this. And he had a feeling this wasn't his first encounter with another male.
"...Envy!" A voice suddenly broke the silence, someone was standing in the shadows. The Homunculus's head shot up, breaking the kiss with a low, irritated growl at the intruder, "I don't think that our master told you to rape, Edward, did she?" Ed recognized the voice, but he still couldn't place it just then, "Now get off of him."
Envy rolled his hips off of Edwards with a irritated sigh, "...No." he said with a growl, "But I don't care what she says. I'll have him. Willingly or not." Envy smirked back at Ed whom was wiping his lips of Envy's saliva, and spitting out onto the bedsheets, "You take him to get something to eat then. I'm not responsible for the runt." Envy walked over to the door and opened it, shining light into the room other than the candles Ed suddenly noticed were lite. The man who saved him was still hidden in the shadows, his dark clothing hiding his body too.
"You should be more careful around Envy, Edward..." The man stayed in the shadows as he spoke, almost if revealing his identity were somehow detrimental to Edward. The blonde took to his feet after awhile, and walked toward the man, curious to see his face, "I'll take you to the dining room. Follow me." The man turned abruptly, again so Ed could not see his face. Edward followed the man with caution, his eyes darting to the side every now and then to see if Envy had reappeared. The man, who he guessed was another Homunculus by the Ouroboros tattoo on his wrist, looked familiar to Edward, or at least the back of his head did. He had brownish black hair the was cut short and then lengthened as it went upward. He could see the legs of a pair of glasses curling around his ears, but other than those details, he could not tell who this mysterious man was. Or why he had saved Ed...
