Firefly

Author's Note: Ok the disclaimer form part one is still in effect...in other words I still don't own FMA or anything related to it. Also if anyone would like to beta my work I would be greatful. I usually read through my stuff several times before I post but something usually slips by. *sigh* no reviews. I can take that two ways one, I'm perfect and everyone is in awe of my work, or...*shudders at the other thought*. I'm going to stick with the first thought. I'll give anyone who reveiws cake (I'm not above bribes). Also I know that the first chapter was a little slow. Hopefully this one isn't. Now on with the show!

Since Ed was confined to the ship he was ecstatic to learn that the Firefly had a vast digital library. He spent the next several weeks while he recouped from his injury buried in the books that he had downloaded to a pda after D had given him a quick lesson on how to use the new technology. When Ed wasn’t reading he could usually be found in the common room playing chess with Gwen, in the kitchen eating, or hiding from Matthius when ever the doctor wanted to check on Ed’s wound.

D was more than willing to hide the teenager when ever the doctor went on the hunt for the blond and Mother was always more than willing to tell Matthius where Ed was hiding. Her bright laughter mixing with the string of curses that Ed always let loose when ever the Elf found him.

Ed was currently curled up in the corner of one of the couches that took up space in the living area that he shared with D, his pda held loosely in his hands, the book that he had been reading forgotten for the moment as he thought. Ed was confused. And his confusion centered around the Elf that he was sharing rooms with.

Mother had told him on his last day in the infirmary that D was infatuated with him, though Ed couldn’t see why since he was nothing special. Ok so he was a prodigy when it came to alchemy but that was all. Yet D never passed up a chance to touch the blond. The Elf would brush his hand over Ed’s or twist his fingers into the ends of Ed’s braid. He would stand as close to the teenager as he possibly could and when they would sit down to eat, D always made sure that his own leather clad thigh would touch Ed’s.

D had even taken to crawling into Ed’s bed at night when ever the young alchemist had a nightmare. He would wrap his arms around the boy and whisper softly into his ear, stroking and petting the shivering body until it calmed down enough for sleep once again. Ed would wake in the morning to find D’s arms still wrapped around him.

And that’s what Ed found so confusing. He should have been shy or nervous around D and the Elf’s obvious fascination with him, but the teenager didn’t mind it. Ed thought that it might have something to do with the fact that he had never found the opposite sex sexually appealing, preferring the look of another man’s body over a woman’s. Ed sighed and tossed his pda to the other side of the couch. He stood up and stretched deciding that thinking was making his head hurt and that his time would be better spent eating.

Later that night after Ed had gone to bed and just as he was starting to drift off to sleep he felt his mattress dip under the weight of a second body. The teen tensed as he felt a pair of arms slid around him and the heat of another living body pressed up against his back. “Relax Little One,” D whispered softly into Ed’s ear.

D continued to stroke Ed’s chest as he murmured into the boy’s ear, and as the Elf flicked the tips of his fingers against one of Ed’s nipples he licked the outer shell of the blonde’s ear. Ed bit his lip in an attempt to hold in a startled moan but didn’t quite make it. D tightened his hold on the alchemist as he continued to stroke Ed’s chest and making his nipples harden into twin peaks of ridged flesh. Carefully he pulled himself free of D’s arms and climbed out of bed. When he came back he found D watching him with a slight smile. Ed blushed and asked, “What?”

“Nothing Little One,” D answered as his smile widened. He held out his arms to Ed and waited until the blond moved into them.

“Umm…about last night…” Ed began but was silenced by D.

“Was perfect,” the Elf said. “It won’t be the last time either. You are too beautiful for me to enjoy once. This is something that I would like to last for a long time.”

Ed said nothing but nodded his head in agreement as he settled back against the Elf. As the two started to drift back into sleep Mother’s voice chimed through room, “D, Ed,” she said. “We’re approaching our next destination and Rio has requested your presence.”

The two sighed and rolled out of bed. “Thanks Mother,” D said. “We’ll be there after we shower.”

Thirty minutes later D walked Ed onto the bridge of the Firefly. Ed stopped walking as his mouth dropped open in awe. In front of him was a large viewing screen which was currently showing a large planet with a red atmosphere that was streaked through with dark purple clouds.

“What?” Ed asked.

Gwen smiled over at the teen and said, “That’s another planet Ed. It’s a lot like the one that you’re from but slightly different.”

“Are there people down there?” Ed asked his eyes still locked on the image of the planet.

“Yes but not like what you’re use to,” Gwen answered.

“Are you going down there?”

“Yes,” Rio answered from where he was sitting, a slight smile on his face as he watched Ed’s gold eyes light up.

“I want to go,” Ed demanded and Rio arched an eyebrow at the demand.

“No,” Rio replied.

“Oh come on!” Ed shouted and he stamped his foot and threw his hands into the air. “I’ve been cooped up on this damn ship for nearly a month. I need to get out of here.”
“It couldn’t hurt Rio,” D said from where he was standing next to his brother. “It’ll be a good experience for him to see other places and people.”

Rio considered it for a moment before saying, “If he goes then you and Gwen are going to be responsible for him.”

D nodded eagerly while his brother sighed. Ed huffed and said, “I can take care of myself thank you very much.”

“You are going to be in a situation that you have never been in before,” Rio replied. “I don’t want you to cause any trouble so you better listen to D and Gwen. If you can’t do that then I will have you confined to the ship until I can get you back to your planet.”

Ed stared at Rio for a several moments, his face carefully blank. Rio began to feel slightly uncomfortable under the intense golden stare. Ed broke eye contact first when he shrugged his shoulders in dismissal and said, “Ok.”

Rio looked over at his second in command who shrugged his shoulders in response. Ed bounced after Rio and the other two Elves eager to see what the other planet was going to look like. As he stepped out of the ship his eyes were wide with wonder as he took in the alien landscape.
