The first three children had died minutes after the sound weapon was used. But that was only the initial count, when the affected families awoke. Later reports had come in of young, old and some in between remaining comatose for days after the incident. It was later discovered that the some of the injured combatants from previous matches had died from the attack in their weakened state.
King Vegeta had suspended the tournament immediately. He could only hope the scope of the damage was minimal.
It was excruciating! The act itself was rather simple, but it seemed like a small eternity. I pulled myself together as my energy coalesced and my new body took shape. At last it was complete.
I took a breath and exhaled it. It was good to be corporeal again. My saiyan side saw to it that I came back stronger than I was before. I flexed all my limbs to make certain everything worked correctly. The king's voice brought my attention back to the chaos around me. It was then that I sensed it.
Agony.
It was worse than loosing my body in the blast. I looked over at a young saiyan holding a child, weeping in grief, over the loss. There were two more that I could detect around the planet. Most were unconscious, about to wake.
All of my abilities seem to be stronger. I am having a hard time shutting out the emotions of the bereaved. I can feel the tears falling down my face. I have to get away for a few moments.
I teleported to the hospital, deciding to distract myself by healing those who are still teetering on the brink of wakefulness and eternal slumber.
Relief.
I can feel it brush against my mimd as I try to gain some modicum of control over my newfound senitivity. Both the feeling of my own for being able to help those who need it, and from those I've been able to heal.
Not long after this I discover more loss. Weakened warriors succomed to the dastardly deed. Just as the doctors and I begin to cart the injured to the regeneration chambers, below us, an explosion rocks the building. The regeneration room is a total mess. Healing machines lay in pieces all over floor, while sparks flew from wires below, and fluid dripped from tubes above.
This attack was planned far in advance. I suspect Hakaisha is ultimately behind this, but this is not her style. No doubt this is a taste of things to come.
Goten and I have finished going over the reports comming in after this disaster. These past few years have been wonderful. I really looked forward to this tournament. But it will have to wait. Our children are recovering in the medical wing of the castle.
It seemed like forever since we had a break. The trounament was really something to look forwrd to. All of us spent the past five-and-a-half years restoring some semblance of saiyan society on this planet. Father puts so much emphasis on it.
Appuru had convinced me that we can overcome the previous dark chapter in saiyan history, where many worlds were purged by saiyan hand. He set up this world as a place of refuge for us. And after all those assurances, yesterday happened.
It's like a nightmare I cannot wake up from.
Goten sleeps in the same room, the kids are recovering in. Appuru healed them almost right away, but they are resting a lot. Every so often Goten would wake in the middle of the night to check on them. I myself have done the same.
I watch my youngest son and his two children sleep. The little ones seem so peaceful, while Goten wakes in fits and starts, before checking on his offspring again and again.
Vegeta, his father the King, and Apppuru have set up search parties to see if we can find more bombs in the buildings. Other teams have begun restoration of the various structures that were damaged during the explosions.
I yawn as I palm my son's head before heading over to my sleeping quarters. The smells from the kitchen below are making me hungry. It must be about four in the morning.
Back in my bed room, I grab a snack from my personal fridge, and finish it while writing in my journal. Sleep claims me while I am sitting at my desk.
King Vegeta summoned me to his sleeping chambers. One of the guards opend the door to the royal suite. Upon walking down the hall to his bedroom, I knock once I reach the door.
Beconed, I enter the room only to be thrown against the door, his body preventing my movent.
"Comfort me." He pleads. His voice cracks as he moves and holds me against him.
I'm frozen. I have have not seen him behave this way in a long, long time.
I can feel his tears drip onto my shoulder as his strong facade crumbles before me. I hold him to me as feel his woe. We both nearly lost our great grandchildren.
Deaparately we cling to each other, as if one of us would vanish. I suckle his neck and work my way to his ear as he calms. Moving along his jaw, our lips meet and I kiss him gently at first, then with increasing force as our need grew.
I untie our sashes and headbands, letting them drop to the floor. Soon all cloth is removed in favor of much-needed closeness.
On the bed, we are a table of limbs, feeling each inch of the other's body to confirm this is real. Our mouths are locked together, devouring the other. The tingle on my skin drawas a moan from my lips, as he rediscovers a sensitive spot on my inner thigh.
My king groans as I fondle his sac, while I nibble on his nipples in turn. After preparation and more fondling, I lean poised above him, before kissing him as I penitrate him.
Our bodies rhythmicly rock as I drown out our sorrows... forgetting about tomorrow.
Appuru is examining the last of the mess to check the extent of the damage in the regen security room.
Several people cannnot be healed, as their brain damage from the explosion is too great. More lost lives to mourn.
I detect a shimmer out of the corner of my eye. Blasting it revails a cloaked Slecklechon. A hideous creature with primitve-looking technological enhacements adding to it's uglyness. They are not naturally as strong as saiyans, but they make up for it with their cloaking field, personal shields, viciousness and cunning.
A group of saiyans, rush overa and help me disable its shield and transmitter. No doubt it was spying on us, planting the explosives and aiding the one that set off the weapon in the arena. We never did learn of her name. She must have been built by them. She must have been the one to tamper with the sensors to prevent security from detecting it.
Where there is one, there is more. I must act fast. As I head over to an intact security console, to disable the program hiding the rest from the sensors, I glance over to see Appuru glowing and changing colors to a white-blue aura, his tail lasing out in clearfrustration.
The air feels like it is charged with static electricity. Appuru levitates the battered creature in front of him, before ripping out the inode, severing its mind from the collective.
It exploded! But that wasn't the end of it. The inode was handed to me.
I follow through with my preveous task of disabling the cloaking progrm hidden in the computer by finding its pattern in the inode. Fortunately the main A. I. was not affected.
Just when I finished the task, the screen shows hundreds of them all over the planet. Before one by one the dots representing them started disappearing.
I couldn't sleep Wandering the halls and going down flights of stairs, I came upon more damaged regen tanks and a group of saiyans fighing something in which ugly is not a strong enough word.
After joining in and defeating that ugly abomination, the air became charged. The hairs on my tail puffed out as Appuru's power spiked and his hair turned blueish-white, growling his tail lashed and after he removed some device from the piece of shit slecklechon exploded, further stainging my garments. What happened next was like when I was dying: time semmed to slow down when I was hit by a shockwave of power from Appuru. It was as if time itself was fllowing backwards, the shards and pieces of the regen tanks nearby started to come togeather as if they were new, the stains on my garments were vanishing.
"What the fuck is this?!" I heard myself exclaim out loud in surprise, even though it felt like I could hardly breathe. As usual Kakarott shows up late, just as Appuru is powering down.
When the glowing one in front of me retuned to his familiar form, he turnd and said to me telepathically, "It's going to be a long day tomorrow. Lets get some rest." Afer which he left for his quaters.
